katzg · 24/05/2006 12:58

bloods were fine this morning - DD2 had a ball, they had a soft play area which she merrily played in for 45mins whilst her cream worked, then she only grumbled for a couple of mins whilst they held her hand still to take the blood, all over in about 5mins! don't know why i was stressed!

EYM - do come to london its going to be fun!

OP posts:
bresha · 24/05/2006 15:25

glad it went ok for you katzg

giddy1 · 24/05/2006 16:05

Katz , thats great news! Smile
Can I ask was it you who recently had their dog put to sleep??? sorry for bringing it up.
We are having our beloved 15year old staffy put to sleep on saturday morning (unless she deteriorates too much in the meanwhile) Sad My poor dh is in bits I don't know what to say or do for the best.... but is time to let her go and have a peaceful other life.
The baby says "woof woof" and "ahhhhh cuggle" everytime they are close to each other. Its heartbreaking really!!
Never mind , hey there are lots of really great things to think about Smile
Welcome to Bresha (I don't think I have said that yet.) Blush
Hello everyone and thanks so much for your kind words about DD2's medical treatment. I am pleased with myself and not stressing now.
lots of love to you all xxx
Yorky ...Smile

giddy1 · 24/05/2006 16:06

actually I meant dd1's medical treatment!!!!!

katzg · 24/05/2006 16:06

yep - our lovely little grey fluffy bundle was put to sleep in sept. it was very sad, we just went in said goodbye and left, vet did the deed later that day.

OP posts:
katzg · 24/05/2006 16:09

i'm sure you know this but our vet said it was very important to not tell children that the doggy was being put to sleep, apparently it can cause sleep problems in children, obviously our DD2's are too young. DD1 was quite matter offact about it and still is now, Pebbles (the dog) was poorly so she died and went to live in heaven with Nanny and Lady (DH's dog from when he was a boy). but then she is veyr matter of fact about death full stop.

OP posts:
giddy1 · 24/05/2006 16:12

o.k so you really know iykwim
It is really hard isn't it.
She was a rescue dog ...and dh has had her 12 years ...some bastard used her just as a puppy factory and her belly scraped on the floor she was in such a bad way. She has been a total dream as a pet. A really brilliant companion and has the nicest nature. I am sort of pleased that she is going to be "at rest" but my feelings are probably anywhere near Dh's. Everytime we have spoken today he has cried Sad but he cant get home from work so is having to be "o.k"
He wants to bury her in his mothers peaceful garden .

katzg · 24/05/2006 16:18

Pebbles was a rescue dog - we didn't know her background but she had been abandonded in a flat, we think she may have been a little old ladies lap dog, she was ever so excited about going out like a puppy but she was 6 years old! although i loved having a dog, we will not have another one. She fitted our needs perfectly she was a daft old thing who put up with a lot from DD1 and its probably just as well she hasn't had to suffer DD2 aswell!

OP posts:
katzg · 24/05/2006 16:20

wrt to 'the body', she was sent to be cremmated and we didn't overly want her ashes back, so we didn't.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 24/05/2006 19:01

hello lots of posts todaySmile lovely to see you all

katz - great news glad it went well.

giddy - sorry about the dog its always hard to loose a beloved pet.

trib - hv wisdom strikes again - bless!

have been out shopping, great experience of picking clothes and handing them over to dh to pay at till - SHAMELESS! actually made me spend lessGrin
dd very excited only had 1/2hr nap at 11am and completely crashed at 5pm she is now wide awake think will wait bit longer before proper bedtime.

no run today since it really called for a boat, the river was pretty high today.

take care all

Hello Junies Smile

Back from hols and finally managed to read through and try and catch up on all that's been happening...

CONGRATULATIONS to 2Happy, Lummox and Amyjade...there was definitely another mum also pg again, had a baby in june, due again in june if I recall, but can't remember her name - anyway if you're lurking GOOD LUCK not long now [wicked remembering pain of birth emoticon]!!! Grin

Muma - glad to hear you've finally moved, hurrah! Smile

Trib - wheat no honestly - I bet you wish someone had told you before you force fed so many bickies to ds! Wink

Katz - it's funny isn't it the things we worry about and the lo's take virtually no notice of - dd hardly flinched when having her jabs, but I was a quivering wreck on the floor each time!

Bresha - welcome Smile Liked SFX's idea to solve your query by chatting to dh whilst he did the housework ... now I just need to find a husband who can do two things at once ShockWink

Giddy - so sorry to hear about your dog Sad but best to put her out of her misery - at least she had some good times when she joined your family.

London zoo - we'll still definitely be there. Katz re a meeting place, there's a big main restaurant and outside picnic area - maybe somewhere around there??

So holiday was fab, kids were angels, dd had all the old ladies (well we were in Malta so that's most of the tourist population) eating out of her hands, she's perfected a coy head on the side grin whilst waving to her audience bless. Unfortunately we've come back to dire weather - what happened? when we went away they were predicting 27 degrees and a mini heatwave - is that it then I've missed the english summer? WinkGrin

bresha · 26/05/2006 10:46

Good morning all
Sorry to hear about your dog giddy,
Men are just idiots aren’t they, they never think about how there actions can upset other people
We have lived here for 2 years now and we still haven’t done all the things we said we would, it took DP over a year to put laminate flooring down
Only 6 days now till dds big 1st birthday, can’t believe it
Finally decided not to have a party, I am going to take her to the children’s centre, all her (and mine) friends go there so she will get to play and I will take her cake 2 share.
The best bit is that I will come home to a clean house 
Its dps birthday as well so we will be having all the family over in the afternoon
Any one have a dyson? And if so would you recommend one? Half the people I know hate them and the other half loves them, can’t decide bit like marmite
Really looking forward to London, although im a bit scared of taking a 4 year old and a buggy on the tube,
Will any one be taking any older children?

Bubbaloo · 26/05/2006 12:20

Bresha-We've got a Dyson and I love it.I wouldn't use anything else now I've got this, but that's just MY opinionGrin.

sfxmum · 26/05/2006 13:06

bresha · 26/05/2006 14:13
