6 1/2 HOURS STRAIGHT!!!!!

L has now decided she doesn't want to feed properly during the day 10 mins of pulling on and off and wanting to swap sides does not a meal make. I ended up taking her to bed yesterday pm just to get a decent feed in her but going away for the weekend tomorrow so this is not a practical solution. Any ideas? Worried as she has only just been released from hv visits due to slow weight gain and don't went to go back there.

Sorry me me me. With the lack of feeding i haven't been able to keep up today. Hope everyone is ok and i haven't missed anything major. Will search out pass' overview

kirrinIsland · 20/03/2013 04:51

Yay lilliana Thats fab! Do you express at all? DD1 went through a stage of that and I expressed my way through - for some reason she was really fussy on me, but guzzled a bottle like she hadn't eaten in days. She was fine at night though. Lasted about 3-4 days I think. Or is she being nosy? N has just started with that when out and about so feeding under a muslin or something helps keep her focussed.

ValiumQueen · 20/03/2013 05:21

Two hours since last feed. Bollocks.

Contradictionincarnate · 20/03/2013 05:25

she has been up at 4 rather than 5 Sad after 9-9 no sleep ...and she only went down at 9 for 30 mins how is she managing?

Contradictionincarnate · 20/03/2013 05:27

oh forgot anyone heard of the core night principle? did they do it ... did it work? if you miss the first night could you do it again.
my lo is 15 wks we have been having this sleep regression for a week now can someone give me hope.

Contradictionincarnate · 20/03/2013 05:31

oh pp my mum did the same technique I'm sure I was potty trained much younger

PetiteRaleuse · 20/03/2013 05:38

Morning all. LO slept from just before 11 until 6, which is progress on the last few days. She is currently chortling in her cot, and drank a bottle with no need to be drugged on calpol beforehand. This is progress. Have just remembered DD1 had the same cold a few days before and was a little strange -weak and fretful for a few days after the end of it. Maybe tis the same bollocks. Last night I was a lot mroe worried than i let on inmy last post as she was a little strange, but I thinkit was just exhaustion.

Dixiebell · 20/03/2013 06:05

Up at 5, fussy feeding because of imminent poosplosion. DH offered to take him downstairs but I said no, will feed him and put him back down after change. An hour later, all still awake and ds1 now up. Bugger. Why couldn't I just have one extra hour sleep before it all starts up again. Should have let DH take him.

SPD sufferers, does anyone still have aches & pains? My right hip still aches sometimes when I've been lying on that side. Is this now permanent?!

PetiteRaleuse · 20/03/2013 06:36

Dixie we need a roof rack thingie for the car too. Let me know if you're happy with what you get in the end.

Pass your summaries are excellent.

Sweary Wednesday but am in a far better mood than yesterday.

MIL says her kids were potty trained at 12 months, that all you had to do was turn it into a game and they soon learned. She went on and on and on about it every phone call from DD1's birthday onwards, despite the fact that I told her repeatedly I wouldn't do it before her 2nd birthday and that there was no hurry.
Then when they came to visit the fortnight round the birth she decided not to tackle me but went on and on at DH until they fell out over it. It was weird she was obsessed by it.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/03/2013 07:03

I did the core night contra with all of them and it worked a treat. I found it best moving them to their own room and staying with them for a couple of nights just incase. Remember if they don't settle themselves back down and start ramping up obviously they do need a feed. Grin

I also found structuring the daytime automatically helps structure the nighttime a bit.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/03/2013 07:08

Why are MILs obsessed with potty training? Mine is, I don't think it is a problem with me per se because she did it to my SIL as well. Only she did it to her when they were living with the .iLs as they were building their house so she helped her.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/03/2013 07:08

Biscuit back at ya.

fruitpastilles · 20/03/2013 07:16

pr glad LO seems to be on the mend, hope she improves even more today, you have had no luck with illnesses this year at all have you.

detective appetite surpressants, do they work? Where do you get them from? I might need to invest!! I lost 2 stone through having S due to really really bad sickness the whole way through the pregnancy could have done with losing 2 more to be honest but now it's starting to creep back on!
What did you watch at the cinema?

Had an ok night with S last night. Got that bedtime live on record to watch today. Dp wouldn't let me watch it last night, he said he has enough with S crying without listening to other babies crying aswell. S'pose he had a point!

Lilliana · 20/03/2013 07:23

Thanks kirren, i did wonder about her being nosy but she is the same under a muslin. Good to hear other people have had the same problem and it only lasted a few days. I've never expressed but might have to think about it if it goes on much longer.

Contra sorry you're having such a rough time. we haven't hit sleep regression yet but not looking forward to it. It must end sometime though and I've heard sleep is better than before afterwards so fc for you.

What is the core?

Lilliana · 20/03/2013 07:24

My dh said the same fruit!

Catbag · 20/03/2013 07:27

311 It can be done, with relatively little faffing. If you and DP were unmarried you would not have been obliged to put his details on when you registered the birth; it is your decision. They have made provision for you to put the details on later if you wish, you just have to fill in a form which is here

Kyzordz · 20/03/2013 07:31

Good wank fucking morning shit waffles! Had an awful night, woke every half bastard hour from 2. What makes if more fucking infuriating is most of the time e hadn't woken, but was just being really fucking noisy in his sleep! Fuckballs I am tired. Hoping the little menace sweetie goes back down after this feed. I'd usually get him up but really can't be arsed this morning!

Glad you had a nice break eliza

Sympathies to those who had bad nights, luis how old is L? Could it be 4 month sleep regression?

Forgot what else I wanted to say

StuntNun · 20/03/2013 07:31

Mornin' Fucktards. Happy sweary feckin' Wednesday to youse. I did post in the wee hours but the bastarding MN app ate my post. I have read all the posts and retained nothing. But then I seem to wake up more tired than when I went to bed these days. J didn't have such a bad night but I tried missing the dream feed which backfired as he was hungry at 12.30. Then at 3 I tried giving him water and then put his dummy in 20 times or so but ended up boobing him to sleep. DH was saying, 2.5 hours - he must be starving. Never mind my protestations that he weighs nigh on 16 lb and should be able to manage a bit longer than 2 hours without food.

Hope everyone else survived the night. I dimly recollect that PR and Chasing need great big (((hugs))) but can't remember anything else except reins were mentioned.

311 The 'Application for the re-registeration of a child's birth' form. I would book an appointment at your local register office so they can help you fill it in.

Kyzordz · 20/03/2013 07:32

Ah yes, hope LO continues to improve pr

Catbag · 20/03/2013 07:34

luis Could it be a developmental leap? If she isn't upset she might be just be trying to interact with her surroundings more?

Catbag · 20/03/2013 07:35

PR Sounds like a shite day yesterday. Fingers crossed for a less eventful one today!

PurplePidjin · 20/03/2013 07:36

Contra apparently i was desperate to be allowed to go to nursery so they told me i could only go if i trained. Job done in two days I'm now a firm believer in bribery

R just rolled onto his front :o

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 20/03/2013 07:41

Morning fuckers!

pass great summaries!

Sympathies to all those with shite nights. Ours was neither crap nor brilliant. I'll take that. I'm mean in the night. DS eats so much during the day (5-6 feeds of 8oz ish) that he doesnt need food, so I dont feed him. If he needs the dummy replacing more than once or twice I tend to get him out of the cot and in with me (DH is still banished to the spare room) only so I can replace dummy and ssshh, pat without getting up [lazy mummy emoticon]

In Gazelle family news, DD managed 2 poos on the potty y'day, so DH thinks he is the king of potty training. His reward is to build the flatpack Ikea furniture which was delivered. DD is 'helping'. The wardrobe I ordered is the tallest fucking thing in the world. Seriously. DH is building the fucking Shard in DD's bedroom.

Oh, and got my first ever unprompted "love you mummy" from DD. Grin Grin Grin
