Am here. Attempt 57 was the charm last night. J has been a little buddy today. We had bubble disco, then charged around like loons in the slides and tunnels and rollers and ball pits for a couple of hours. Definitely doing that again, even on 3 hours sleep. L was a Grumpatronic2000 this morning, but has had some long naps this afternoon, and has now been down for 90 minutes which she didn't manage til much later yesterday, so am starting to think she might be actually asleep.

J has started signing things to me that I never taught him. It's a bit weird but amazing really.

Everyone I want to slap with a wet rottweiler seems to have been fished already. So, well done, everyone, good job!

contra, if my experience with J is anything to go by, don't set targets, and don't believe anyone who sets them for you. Your LO doesn't have a calender, and hasn't read the websites you have. J was 2 before I was able to stop sleeping on his floor in the hallway in the bath a couple of times on the stairs once. There was no magic day when he suddenly got easy, but he did get easier over time, and it's only with hindsight I can say the times he got easier. Just make sure you keep doing the wine and natter when you can, that's really important. The hard bits at the moment are not forever.

Stunt I bought one of those bunnies for DD1 when I was PG and it became her favourite. Also bought a spare which she found! She now has 4 of them, 2 beige, 1 white and 1 black and white Smile

PurplePidjin I know you've been fished already, and I understand how... well, no I don't, but I want to hug you. You shouldn't feel guilty though, you should feel like a superhero, imo. The Purple Pidjin.

thanks Luis I wasn't even thinking about sleeping through tbh just being a mummy in general ... it is getting more rewarding every day! have lots planned over the next few weeks I'm going to be away from her one night a week!

Sorry everyone. Not a hope of catching up today. Hope those of you who are having a hard time get some sleep tonight.

VQ and detective glad your respective appointments went well. Hopefully there will be some improvements now.

I haven't checked N for lip tie. Nit that I think she's got one, but I've never heard of it so now I'm curious!

I've just finished the 3rd feed of the night and it's not even really night yet so I'm guessing it's not going to be a good one. Between N and DD1 - who has gone back feeling like a hot water bottle - I don't think there will be much sleep in the kirrin house tonight.

contra again, if J is anything to go by, the more rewarding every day thing doesn't stop.

Thanks, Luis. Did you say upthread you're near Blackgang? I'm close(ish) to Lymington if you fancy comparing babies. Don't think there's anyone else within about a 50 mile radius - M27 meet up was a spectacular flop!

ok being side tracked by stupid aibu posts ... was just thinking power of the quiche and all that we should start some kind of Fred and all comment on April fools ... like someone puts that they have eaten a hamster and others post they have too ...maybe not that one perhaps something with a bit more imagination ...

Just checking in before this thread is full to the brim. Can't keep up.
Having my boiler replaced in the morning so me and M need to find something to do to entertain ourselves. At the moment we're going to my dads to sit and drink tea.

M is getting too big for her basket but I don't want her on her own yet. In considering putting a single matress on her bedroom floor but don't know if that's practical?

Hugs to everyone feeling turd

horsey thank you. J has been so drooly recently. Your post has however confused me even more. I will re-read in the morning. They decided he had reflux yes?

First feed of night, tho technically second as DH gave a bottle as I came to bed early. Fat lot of use that was as I didn't bloody sleep til midnight when he came to bed! Stupidly quick feed so I'll be up super soon no doubt :( can hear him mumping in cot so don't think he's properly asleep yet which usually means as I eventually fall asleep he wakes up!

Checking in . J fed at 8 then 10:40 then was awake again at midnight but mum managed to resettle him. He's having a good feed now so let's see if he can manage longer than 90 minutes this time.

Who's finishing the thread today? Don't forget the new one: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/1714057-November-2012-The-lurker-amnesty-fred-for-our-quiche

Grandma Daisy had a very active social life before she passed away last year. Trying to think of the name of the beach we went to a lot, had no sand, lots of big rocks - me and my brother loved climbing over them.

Off to sleep until his lordship wakes again. Will dream of the New Forest Smile
