I'm here! First feed after 5 hours sleep :)

VQ glad things are on the up and you've had a good day.

L skypes my sister. She tends to get really big eyed and looks somewhat confused! (L, not my sister)

PurplePidjin · 18/03/2013 04:14

I've had a 5 and a 2 1/2. Please please please let him sleep past 6!!!

ValiumQueen · 18/03/2013 04:30

On third waking. Better than last night when he woke 4 times.

Thank you for missing me. Still not caught up. Needed sleep more.

StuntNun · 18/03/2013 04:36

Another two-hour gap between feeds and for the third time tonight J has woken up squealing in pain. I don't think it's extreme hunger as he fed for 1.5 hours from 7, 1.5 hours on and off from 10, then at 2 and now at 4. So if he's not starving then why is he waking up yelling like that? Then when I think I can't feed him any more then I realise I couldn't listen to him squealing like that while I prepared a bottle. The neighbours must be sick of it too.

Transfer fail :( back on boob as wouldn't settle but don't think she's really hungry I'm just being used as a dummy.

Stunt i feel the same about making bottles at night. Also is easier to boob her to sleep than walk around in the cold for ages

PurplePidjin · 18/03/2013 05:17

Forty fucking five fucking minutes. And i didn't really sleep in the 2 1/2 hour second bit properly because my right boob was engorged. If I'd pumped, the milk wouldn't have been there when he woke at 3:30, but when i don't pump i toss and turn. Actually, going downstairs to pump disrupts things too. Ideas?

Contradictionincarnate · 18/03/2013 05:30

up at 5 ...5th night in a row ...could set a watch by her!
strange thing is she went down at 10.30 not 12.30! Shock that is a little better ...and when I compare it to a month ago no long 4-6 hour cluster feeding sessions in the evening! ...its all about appreciating what I have!
Wink
...though a bloody good shag wouldn't go amiss! Smile
sure there was other stuff I was going to say but brian really not working!

Contradictionincarnate · 18/03/2013 05:34

oh I know pp only thing that has helped me re engorgement was the two days in one week me and dh went out and so I didn't feed for about 18 hours pumped before sleep and first thing in the morning they now never feel as painful but all the milk still feels there.
this probably isn't the best advice so may be worth double checking with a professional before you try it!

glendatheveryexcitedwitch · 18/03/2013 06:23

vq we missed you flower - hugs for you, please don't beat yourself up - you were doing what was best for J - like we're all trying to do. Hopefully you and J are on the right track to happier feeding xx

Bathed, massaged, fed, read story and tried settling from 8.30 till 9.30 but although tired wouldn't give in - I left her chatting/murmuring in the cot while I had a shower cos daddy has sim city which is far more important - twat then fed her again and she settled by 10 which is cool for first night of trying!! I woke up at 5.40 and made a brew and came upstairs to smiles and chattering - perfect timing!!!

I slept really well considering how excited I am lol - gonna be such an anticlimax isn't it??

Ds has his braces put on today so dh who can't stand anything teeth related has taken day off to take him - wonder if ill come home to a sparkly house????

Why is it if I sleep in nursing bra I have no leakage but when I sleep naked I end up with a soaked bed??? Ick!!! Dh's chore for the day!!!

Hope everyone has a groovy day - I'm off to be a student midwife aaaaarrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!

PetiteRaleuse · 18/03/2013 06:56

Good luck Glenda

Morning all. Good rest of night here, though the dog decided to destroy our blinds and the laces of DD1's new shoes. Very strange, something or soeone must have upset him. I'm going to start closing the shutters on the back door at night. I think someone must have been nosing round. The dog will have put them off, but why couldn't be bloody bark rather than destroy our stuff?

VQ you know you are doing the right thing. Plenty more things to cry over coming up in the future, save some tears for later :) you've shed enough over this issue.

MissMummy1 · 18/03/2013 07:14

Great decision vq fingers xd for happier feeding now xxx

Good luck for today glenda - I am soo excited for you!

M loves skype. Although usually uses it as an opportunity to vom everywhere when she is sitting facing away from me Confused

How scary PR. Last night was the first time I have ever freaked myself out that there was someone in my house. We live in Britains safest village. In the last 2 years there have been no reported incidences of crime. Ex PM lives here and as such there is 24hr police patrols and number plate cameras monitoring who is in the village at any one time. Unknown cars get pulled over and questioned - as I found out when I came home late at night in the hire car. I was being ridiculous last night Blush

StuntNun · 18/03/2013 07:23

DH says he has more grey hairs than when he went to bed and I feel like I have had the life sucked out of me. That was the second worse night for me and the worst for DH - he's having to take a half day off work as he can't get the whole day off. After waking frequently and feeding for a long time last night J is lying next to me quite happily and not one bit interested in food. I have no idea why he was in so much pain last night but okay once I started feeding him.

MissMummy1 · 18/03/2013 07:27

DP has just informed me the almighty crash i heard last night was the bath mat falling off the shower rail Blush Blush Blush

MissMummy1 · 18/03/2013 07:27

Shit stunt sympathies to you both.

Contradictionincarnate · 18/03/2013 07:31

good luck Glenda enjoy!
dd has just spat milk all down me so I am soaked been feeding boobs in wrong order as I always express from the right for some reason!

ChasingDaisy · 18/03/2013 07:31

stunt doctors? Sounds awful. Brew

mm You are probably on higher alert after having M. Your protective instinct kicking in. Glad there was no intruder.

Fucking shattered here. Bad night. O still snoozing away though. On me. Not on his cot. I can't sleep.

PetiteRaleuse · 18/03/2013 07:32

A friend was freaking me out about burglaries in the area just yesterday. Then your fright MM and then the dog's weird behaviour... Why wouldn't he bark though. Last time someone came snooping he barked. He's a big dog and intimindating, even though he's more likely to lick an intruder to death than anything else Hmm

kissyfur · 18/03/2013 07:34

Stunt sounds like reflux? Crying in pain and wanting to feed a lot are symptoms of silent reflux. Could J be very sensitive to things you are eating? I have had to cut out quite a lot of stuff as F is so sensitive, can't have any caffeine, onions, spice, soy or chilli.

PP could you keep a hand pump in your room and express upstairs if you need to?

Contradictionincarnate · 18/03/2013 07:34

oh and stunt sympathy from me too ... though no advice! dd seemed to be like that last Monday evening luckily it stopped by 12 and dh managed to sleep then (he had to be up at 5 to travel to London love him).
I still don't know what created it! dh had to give formula she wouldn't take boob.

TheDetective · 18/03/2013 07:34

Erm. It appears I stole PRs sleepydust Shock. All the sleepydust......

O had his last feed at 8.30. And just woke up for his first feed now!!!! Fuck me! 16 weeks and he finally slept the fuck through!!

There's a fucking party in the detective house this morning!

Maybe it was the fact I told him his brother slept through at 8 weeks?!

I was up at 2, 5.30, 6, 6,30 checking him paranoid mother that I am Blush

Rather glad I had an early night now! I feel rather refreshed!

Contradictionincarnate · 18/03/2013 07:37

wow kissy that's lots to leave out... did think that dd may have been upset cos of my binge eating chocolate!

Pikz · 18/03/2013 07:37

Yay for a fab day VQ. As for the feeding I too shed more tears than the ocean about it. Now go enjoy your beautiful grown up boy and forget what is now behind you. You have made all the right decisions. Look at him and look at that pic on Facebook of him... You have done an amazing job.

Mm I too freak out and I live in an 1890s farmhouse that creaks in the wind!

Daisy, big hugs doesn't matter if you can't sleep. Lie there and rest.

Stunt and mr stunt, big hugs and sleep dust.. I too maybe think doctors... Sore throat?

Good night for us.. Just one feed at 3am from 7.30pm and up for the day at 6am. Hoping we are working towards sleeping through!

Contradictionincarnate · 18/03/2013 07:39

get in det Grin !!! amazing ...though you and O deserved it!!
think we need to get hold of some more sleepy dust soon so we have enough for everyone!

TheDetective · 18/03/2013 07:42

I'll start a production line in sleepydust!

Good luck Glenda Grin

VQ you echoed a lot of my feelings too with feeding. Until the fucking reflux anyway!

Pikz · 18/03/2013 07:43

Get the mother fucking in detective! Well done O!!
