Stunt you're having a horrible time, and I can't advise as you know, being a ffer. Paed did mention today there is also a 4 month growth spurt. Not as bad as as the 12 week one, but significant anyway, and explains sleep regression.

Thanks

and remember the advice you have so often given others. Set yourself a goal to get to x weeks, and then y weeks. You've done really well and achieved several of those goals iirc. If you do want to stop, or start mix feeding, no-one here will judge you. But if you want to carry on we'll dust off our pom-poms and cheer you along. Your call.

Freud was an arse btw.

ValiumQueen · 08/03/2013 01:29

4 hours. I slept 2 as had to wait for washer. DH went to bed early as tired. Only put washer on as he always stays up late when he works late. Grr.

In danger of nodding off again.

ValiumQueen · 08/03/2013 01:38

J you really did not need that if all you will have is ten minutes. Rascal!

Will go to bed but expect he will be up again.

Hope you are all sleeping x

kissyfur · 08/03/2013 01:41

Urgh, not even 2 hours and I'm woken up by LO chomping on her fingers!? How on earth can I stop her doing that!? She's so loud!? No way can she move into DD1s room making that sort of racket Hmm

StuntNun · 08/03/2013 02:22

All that feeding yesterday evening and he only manages 2.5 hours? Honestly you would think he was starving. The last few nights he has woken squealing and farting in the wee hours. I'm wondering it if has anything to do with the green nappies. My DS2 had something similar at this age that may have been sorted by early weaning (or it may have been coincidence that it stopped when weaning started).

Thank you for your kind words and your support PR. I was hoping to ebf until 6 months since I thought things were going well but with the amount of time I am spending feeding and the amount of dirty nappies I am changing (8 a day) it seems to be making things harder just now. I have been trying to get J to latch on properly and I have started block feeding but it's so much effort now where a couple of weeks ago it was an easy way to feed.

IDS lacks the warmth and depth to be a cunt.

Stunt i had a few days like that last week. Nips felt shredded. I think it was where his suck suddenly got stronger? It passed really quickly but you could have J checked for tongue tie if his latch isn't great

"Aw what a poppet, how old?" works for me

6 hours sleep Shock but now it's a battle to get him to go back down Sad my temperature's spiked i can barely tolerate clothes

kirrinIsland · 08/03/2013 03:42

6 hours pidj ? That's good. Have you taken anything for the temp? Hope you feel better quickly.

stunt i don't know what to suggest. It all sounds very stressful. You have done well to ebf for so long. Hopefully these problem are just a short phase so you can conitue.

kissy N does that too - I can't believe the noise she makes! Not sure how you can stop it though? Gloves?

N did a measly 2 hours from half one, having woken 6 or so times before that! I had thought we were coming out the other side of sleeplessness hell after the last 2 nights were so much better, but apparently not

PurplePidjin · 08/03/2013 03:48

Lots of fluids, will pop down for some tabs after transfer

Just a few more weeks and we'll be the other side of The Dreaded Four Months

StuntNun · 08/03/2013 04:15

I hope you feel better in the morning Pidj. No raiding the baby's Calpol.

J is feeding again. He was 16 weeks yesterday, is this the dreaded sleep regression? Cos his sleep has been shit for weeks now.

Just done a mammoth catch up so can't remember most if the things I wanted to say!

YW- that's some impressive weight loss! I agree about the going for a walk. I take the dog for a walk every day with G in the baby carrier and she generally falls asleep. Although she's with us it's such a lovely time to just let my mind wander and feel a bit more like pre-baby me again.

I'm also the same at the baby groups although I tend to fall into the spouting a load of shite because I can't think of anything interesting to say category. I frequently leave a group cringing at at least one thing I've said to someone! Better put me down for a badge too.

Feeling very pleased, G has just gone back down after feeding following another 8 hour sleep! I'd better try and get back to sleep too. Anyone else finding that they're struggling to get back to sleep in the night sometimes?

kissyfur · 08/03/2013 05:05

Kirrin scratch mitts it is! Can't believe I didn't think of that myself Blush thanks

Stunt I was told green poos can be a sign of wind. Have you tried infacol? LO had the same problem at Christmas and that worked for us. If his latch isn't great he could be getting too much air in when feeding? Hope you find a solution soon

Pikz · 08/03/2013 05:11

Barefoot I can't sleep now after a 4.45 feed Hmm

Det, VQ and Pr thank you for keeping me amused!

Stunt big hugs, I have no advice just gin.

Reduced feed from 7oz to 4oz. He barely noticed. I think half of this wake up is because he pees like a racehorse and so his nappy is ready to explode even using baby dry extra nights.

Lilliana · 08/03/2013 05:13

Gah and we're back to every 2 hours :(

bare i'm struggling to get back to sleep and am wondering if it is mning on my phone. Did hear something today about the light on screens stopping people sleeping. It's the only thing that keeps me awake.

Can i have a badge too please?

Off to see my head tomorrow to request part time. Could do with being rested and alert - fat chance now

kirrinIsland · 08/03/2013 05:34

Glad you like that idea kissy cos the only other one I had was chilli paste Grin

stunt N will be 4 months next week and we too have had shit sleep for weeks. She can't possibly regress! Can she?

She's just woken up, latched on and gone straight to sleep again. Bloody annoying. She is very windy (farty) and I can't help but wonder if that's what wakes her? But gripe water, infacol etc only work on burps don't they?

Lilliana my screen is definitely the only thing keeping me awake. Good luck with the part time request.

Elizadoesdolittle · 08/03/2013 05:48

So tired and miss home Hmm

On the plus side I spoke to DD1 on the phone earlier and realised I don't think I have spoken to her properly on the phone before as I'm always with her. She sounded so grown up. Time is flying. Treasure the baby moments, they don't last long. I know it's hard re the constant feeding/lack of sleep but it will be a distant memory soon.

Contradictionincarnate · 08/03/2013 06:20

according to wonder weeks - who I have sounded like I get paid for promoting since joining this quiche there is a 16 week developmental leap.
stunt if you want to try formula it isn't the end of the world I'm so glad I started now dd has 3-4 bottles a week just when the cluster feeds get to much previously I would be on the point of tears.
I think that its actually helped me continue breastfeeding.
pr yes grope cunt lane was a street of prostitutes but was almost like saying grope vagina lane.
pidj not sure it was you that said ids lacked the warmth and depth struggled not to laugh baby off boob!

Contradictionincarnate · 08/03/2013 06:21

oh meant to say I still don't know if wonder weeks is correct.

PetiteRaleuse · 08/03/2013 06:43

Aaaaagh. DD1 has woken up with a cold. Jst wanted one week no illness. That's all. Cunting colds.

Contradictionincarnate · 08/03/2013 06:48

oh anybody got anything exactly like Sophie le giraffe but not her she scares me!

PetiteRaleuse · 08/03/2013 06:51

Is it the eyes? :o

ValiumQueen · 08/03/2013 07:32

J woke once for 20 minutes. Those who are lacking sleeo, he is 19 weeks. I still woke frequently, but am very pleased.

glendathefedupwitch · 08/03/2013 07:40

Morning ladies - caught up but can't remember what I wanted to say doh!!!

sweetpea how are you feeling flower??

Re: green poos - Dottie threw up her first whole 8oz feed over me last night - it was literally a minute after she'd finished but it wasn't fresh milk it was curdled - was that the milk?? dh made it or is she under the weather?? She's been a teeny bit cranky last night and we've had two green poos so I think she might be fighting of a little bug wdyt???

Hopefully she'll change the habit if a lifetime today and be amused in the swing/bumbo/playmat as I've got to pack everything the five of us need before our road trip this evening!!! We're staying 2 nights in Salisbury to do Stonehenge and longleat if weather nice, 1 night in lands end then 4 nights in Looe - sooooo looking forward to no school run, quality family time before the mania begins on the 18th!!!!

Will try and pop by but determined to read a book and detach from phone!!!

PetiteRaleuse · 08/03/2013 07:43

glenda the curdling just means some of it had started to be digested - she wasn't drinking off milk have a lovely trip away Envy

horseylady · 08/03/2013 07:47

stunt do what you feel is right. Sleep and growth spurt was mainly weeks 16-17 here. Peaking at 17. This last week his feeding has been calmer. Up to you. Green nappies for us have always been illness related.

Fairly sure there was more I wanted to say???

Oh kirrin could you post advert or pm it me?

Right throat feels like I've swallowed razor blades. Excellent.

barefootwalker · 08/03/2013 07:55

Pikz and Lilliana - I'm glad it's not just me. It makes sense about the phone but my alternative entertainment is the paperwhite kindle (which is also lit).

Off to attempt passport photos today, trip to Australia booked for 6 weeks time...
