Maybe I could start a baby group!

VQ If there is a waiting list, do one yourself! Is a piece of piss. Grin

The girls who do the groups I go to are great. Well worth the £1.50 a session. Theirs are the only groups I do aside from swimming. I could so do it though!!

I have a confession to make.

The study day I went to this evening was a 40 minute drive. For 40 minutes I listened to nursery rhymes. WHAT THE FECK?! Not by accident, but on purpose!

I bought this book and CD for O. It arrived today. The reason I bought it was because I had it when I was a tiny. I knew all the words to all the songs. Was so nice to listen to, really relaxing because it took me right back! I can't wait for tomorrow to play them to O! Sad bastard or what huh?!

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 22:43

(in a good way Grin )

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 22:44

Yes I can have 5 months 'full' sick pay. I will be about £300 a month worse off though as won't get unsocial enhancements.

I can't see it being fixed, not at the rate it needs to be, so that I can function fully. If I can't do a weeks food shop, or hoover the house, how can I squat and catch babies? Stand at a theatre table for 90 minutes? Lean over to help a breastfeeding woman? etc.

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 22:45

detective how very appropriate that you like 'ride a cock horse'!

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 22:45

Oh dear VQ. Fears you will be sadly disappointed!!

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 22:45

Oh aye Wink

Started me off early that did!

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 22:47

I must admit I am wondering if I could get more sick time for my fucking leg. I find it really painful to drive. I really must see a doctor about it. I really do not want to go back to work.

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 22:48

Never detective Smile

Don't worry about weight gain Garden, I have been there, done that and bought the effin' t-shirt. There is only real cause for concern if a child actually loses weight. If there is enough of a drop through the percentiles then you get referred to a dietitian or paediatrician for review. They will advise you about diet and feeding and keep an eye on the weight. If there are further issues then they will help you in resolving them. With DS1 we introduced an extra evening meal and were given ways to increase his calorie intake such as putting butter on his vegetables. DS2 is on nutritional supplements to increase his calorie intake by 600 calories a day. Both have their height and weight measured three or four times a year. Both are poor eaters with idiopathic short stature. Weaning them was a nightmare, hopefully J will be a bit easier.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do about green nappies? J has always had the occasional one but recently they have been frequent and unusually smelly for an ebf baby. DS2 was the same and I suspected overactive letdown but that doesn't seem to be happening with J.

Hahaha, what if I turn out to be quiet as a mouse?! Grin

I fucking wish!

Am uber excited, PR and VQ. Oh my.... it's gonna be a blast!!

And sick leave, why not. The way I see it is, who is going to thank you for flogging yourself to death? On my death bed will I be glad I went back to work even when I was still in pain? No. I will not. So I feel no guilt.

I go in with all kinds of ailments, but I know my limits. I wouldn't be caring for my women properly, and that makes me a shit midwife. I don't want to be a shit midwife. I want to be at the very least, almost full capacity.

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 22:56

stunt J has the odd green mucous filled nappy, but he is fine, growing well, so I figure so what if he is getting a bit too much fore milk. Not long until he will be on solids anyway. My days of stressing about bf are over. His latch is shite, all three have had shite latches, but they are fine.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 22:57

i'd suggest you'd try to get some compensation for not being able to do your job both of you but ian duncan cunting smith is buggering up the rights of people who are sick did I say he's a cunt?

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 23:01

stunt LO is ff but goes green when she has a cold or when she has paracetamol so all the ficking time right now

I believe it is also a sign they are fighting something off. Could be the start of a bug?

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 23:01

I would say that is insulting cunts. Cunts are useful.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 23:02

Yay we will ROCK bolton le sands. Or somewhere more interesting.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 23:03

Good point. I apologise to cunts worldwide.

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 23:03

PR I could try, but you know what, it isn't worth it. I will, however, at some point write a letter to the Registrar who did the epis and let her know the long term effects of her decision to do an epis that (to quote the consultant today) is twice as long as a normal epis.

I could have sued from my first birth, having an epis done then a section.

But I am not the type to sue. I'd rather educate those who have done the harm so to speak.

I just want to get healed and resume life again.

and YY to IDS cunt of the highest order.

stunt We've had green nappies, but ours are due to the new formula. I'm of no use to your question. Will stop waffling now!

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 23:06

True VQ very true. I like cunts. So it isn't a good insult is it?! Damn it!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 23:08

Getting healed is most important Thanks

night all. Dexter rocked and it's late. My babies sleep it's a lovely chorus of snores.

Contradictionincarnate · 07/03/2013 23:11

I think I talk too much at my baby group - in life in general! my mum is a bit of a narcissist personality and almost never listens to other people is just waiting for cues to chip in with an anecdote related to it.
I hope I am much more self aware - though I don't think I used to be and am trying to listen a lot more.
my dh is very good with people though weirdly we are both life and soul of party people just in very different ways.
got asked at mum and baby group this week to go for a coffee in rl! Grin I have only one mummy friend and she lives quite far and her ds is 3 months older.

YellowWellies · 07/03/2013 23:11

Stunt too much foremilk maybe? - I block fed (ie feed from one booby only for 2-3 hours, am sure I'm teaching Granny to suck eggs here) - it sorted out J's green poos and my Niagran like letdown within a few days.

Just come in from a night time stroll. I used to love doing this to try to make sure I'd walked enough in a day when trying to lose weight and decided to pop out tonight as my pedometer showed I'd only done 4 miles today (I love to do 5 or 6). It's definitely a habit I'm going to reinstate. I was only out for 20 minutes but it was so nice to be out with my thoughts sans enfant on a windy cool night, sniffing the wind, listening to the trees, watching big boats glide under the Forth Bridge. Ahhh..... Anyone feeling a bit blue - I can heartily recommend a wee stroll on an evening. I love being Jonas' Mummy but I felt like the old me was back when I was out walking.

Det cool bananas - just let me know. Otherwise just PayPal postage. Smile

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 23:12

My ex was a clit as he was too small to be a cunt.

Contradictionincarnate · 07/03/2013 23:15

I agree vq we should reclaim cunt it used to be a medical term ... it was purely medical its in Chaucer and there was a grope cunt lane in London .... think using twat and other fanjo names the male ones are more cute ... he is a Dick ... what can we use instead!?

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 23:27

Wasn't Gropecunt Lane a red light district? Before they had red lights? That's how it got its name I think according to Bill Bryson

I use insults which would insult the insultee. If someone called me a cunt, and a reader of my blog journalist did once I'd shrug it off. Fine, I'm a cunt , just don't call me a Daily Mail fan. I reckon that Ian Duncan Smith would be really offended to be called a cunt though, so it's kind of right for him iyswim. Just a theory.

StuntNun · 07/03/2013 23:33

Thanks YW et al. I don't think overactive letdown is an issue as I don't have any spray when he pops off. The bf specialist did say that J has a poor latch though. He is feeding all the time, hours and hours today, my nipples feel like they did at ten days. Bloomin' forgot to buy formula when I was in Asda today though . Maybe it was a Freudian thing of not wanting to start giving formula. Although I forgot to buy ham as well so I may not want to read into things too much. Sorry if I'm not making sense. Just wish this baby would go to sleep probably for two hours when he'll be hungry again.
