DD1 was always being mistaken for a boy. I'm not very girly and used to dress her in red and navy quite a bit so could understand then, even though once she was wearing a pink dress and had a pink blanket and some old biddy in the post office asked what HIS name was so there really is no hope!

When I first started going to baby groups I felt awkward, however I have realised that you just need to ask questions about the babies and conversation starts to flow. Unfortunately always about babies and I used to get bored with the constant chat about babies but I've got used to it. Once you find some common ground you can move on from the baby chat...sort of. It nearly always ends back to that I find!

Kyzordz · 07/03/2013 21:31

Least you lot can make it to the groups lol! It is my next aim though, and I am sure I will have a lovely story to tell you about how much of a tit I was!

garden try not to worry, you know your girls :) they sound lovely and fine :)

LOL pr, your dd looks like a girl to me! I am usually quite rubbish at guessing but must remember to say they as horsey does, not it, like I usually do!

Waiting for dream feed. Good day today. This evening when e is usually whinging was full of grins and he tried rolling over on his own. Got stuck lol but was pleased he tried! Usually he moans till I fetch him the thing he wants!

Octopus is taking yonks. I am trying to finish Pom Pom but stuff is in room where e is asleep and I don't want to finish it enough to risk waking him up! I have sewn and stuffed all eight legs and sewn the hat up. He needs a face, legs attaching and tassels on his scarf

I have asked for sleeping bags for e for mothers day. Hope he likes them! I know it depends on the temperature but do their arms not get cold? E was wearing a cardi to bed but surely vest, gro, sleeping bag and cardi is loads too much, he hasn't had cardi for 3 nights now as was waking warm and kicking covers off.

I am in the midlands, leicestershire, though I would probably need drugs to make me calm enough to meet any of you (not because of you but because of me of course!) and by drugs I mean prescription ones, Nowt dodgy!

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 21:33

I think in years gone past boys wore pink and girls blue. I am talking 100 plus years. There is a pic of my dad and his sisters (triplets) and they all had identical clothes on.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 21:33

I'm there the wkd 15-16th June VQ I was born and bred in Lancaster.

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 21:37

Their little arms will always be cooler than their bodies, but vest and gro is ample. You can get long sleeved vests if you prefer but really they do not need it.

kissyfur · 07/03/2013 21:39

Thanks Eliza but I expect I'll find some in one of the chemists around here, and if not I'll try ocado (thanks for the tip Toomany) very kind of u to offer tho Thanks

Garden I'm sure your girls are fine, trust your mummy instincts. I know how hard it is not to worry tho! I should follow my own advice more often, I'm a terrible worrier!

Also find baby groups awkward, not been to any with LO yet but did go to some with DD1. Think I could use one of your badges too please blonder!

kissyfur · 07/03/2013 21:47

DD1 got mistaken for a boy loads, probably because I bought her a v cute little blue coat (in my defense it was was quite girly in style)

Lol horsey! Someone did that to me at the doctors this morning! I didn't flounce off tho Wink

kirrinIsland · 07/03/2013 21:50

Most people assume N is a boy. Then they get embarrassed for some reason? It doesn't bother me, it's mostly hard to tell at this age and you don't often see her in pink.

horsey about £5000. It's a Y reg with about 125,000 on the clock, but the conversion was done in 2010 and has hardly been used really. Nice, easy drive. Could do with a respray though.

I seem to be getting a few spots :( Cant help but think they must be coil related. I'll give them a week or two to settle down, but if they don't then i'll get it taken out. I've done a face full of spots before - I know it's shallow but there's nothing like it for zapping my confidence.

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 21:56

PR 15th June is the weekend we plan to be there as it is DD1s birthday. We would be camping at Bolton Le Sands and in-laws are at Carnforth. DH was born and bred in Lancaster too. I would love to meet you, you being famous 'n' all!

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 22:00

I was going to mention spots too. I am covered, and not on any contraception. Really sore, and do nothing for self confidence. Still, I guess they make me look younger.

I have decided to have my fringe back. I would rather look like a school girl than Ma Walton. Or indeed Grandma Walton.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 22:04

You're kidding. I will be one village away! Yay! Am even more excited than I was. My gran and sis are in BLS.

horseylady · 07/03/2013 22:08

Brill kirrin ill speak to dh and my parents!!!

You're in Kent?

kyz north or south Leicester?

This baby was dressed as a pumpkin. Anyway I learnt my lesson. Occasionally people have asked if e's a boy or a girl. Most people seem to guess right.

ValiumQueen · 07/03/2013 22:12

Grin meant to be then! No I am not a journalist. Always fancied being one... I would write for a proper newspaper though.

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 22:17

15th June good for me in Lancashire. DS1 at camp with school!!

Realises she wasn't invited

applepieinthesky · 07/03/2013 22:18

Oops horsey Grin DS has been mistaken for a girl a couple of times. One time we were in Tesco and he was wearing head to toe blue and someone asked if he was a girl Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 22:22

Detective you are very invited. we'll have to work out which day or evening to work round my family etc but WOW that will be fab. Anyone else?

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 22:25

I'm stopping over in Kent on 9th June btw....

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 22:28

Fucking cunts, Pennie. And insurance companies are cunts also. I hope their genitals rot.

I am the crazy lady at baby groups. Today we did 3 in succession, baby sensory, then a cafe thingy, then baby bubbles and rhyme Blush. I am the loudest one, chattiest one, and the one singing like a strangled cat. For example, today, in the middle session it was just a brew and a biscuit, no baby play, just for mums to chat. Well, there was music on. So what was detective doing? Dancing around with O doing some kind of strip tease tossing my hair back to that song from the diet coke advert

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 22:28

PR on a one woman MN tour!

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 22:30

I've realised I'm supposed to be back in work then. I can't see me being back in work, not in June anyway. Not unless fanny stretches and fanny antidepressants work miracles.

Am still :( about the fact I have a misaligned one. :( Fucking pile of wank.

Ignores fact it isn't sweary wednesday.

kirrinIsland · 07/03/2013 22:32

Yes horsey I'm in Kent. When I get on the laptop tomorrow I'll do a link for you.

N is asleep so I am going to bed. Night all :)

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 22:35

:o I'm Marmite too. I'm crap at making and keeping friends. I was really chiffed as I had finally made a real friend out here; she talked to me about her bloke and he read our messages. She was the one person I was able to count on back when dd1 was ill. And because she confided in me the twat has made her dump me. Red flag girls. Men who make you dump your friends are Not Good News.

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 22:36

Oh. My facebook rant! Sorry for totally taking over thread. Blush

Got O some clothes, they arrived today, I got them about 4pm. Email arrived at 3pm from seller demanding feedback. Cheeky bint. Fuck off! You don't do that surely?!

Also, bought another item from one seller, but missed one from same seller due to O having a paddy, so I asked if I could buy that item as I saw it hadn't sold. She said something about too many people doing similar so she was relisting. Whatever, she can wait for payment for both items til I've bought the other item for 99p Grin. Pfffft. I'd of given her more tbh than what it was listed for. Her loss.

OH! YW Sorry, I just remembered your post --yes, I have a terrible forgetful habit, sorry* I was out when I saw it, and couldn't reply straight away. Then forgot. Duuuuh! Yes, I'd love to take that offer up if I haven't got one before then? Do you not need it? I'll paypal monies your way nearer the time! I'll let you know if I somehow get one before then!

TheDetective · 07/03/2013 22:37

I have mostly acquaintances. DP is my best friend. I suspect this is why we squabble like kids. Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2013 22:38

One woman, one dog, two babies and a v confused when in England DH tour.

Can't your misbehaving fanjo get you sick leave til its fixed? I wouldn't want to be at work with that and I have a bloody plant your arse in front of a computer job.
