YW think i am going to have to take a rain check on tomorrow Sad . M is getting grizzly too and it seems this bug is super contageous as do just phoned fron work feeling vommy. Paranoid it is norovirus Sad Sad My DSis has been a gem today looking after M while I sleep and feed her. Genuinely don't think I'd have coped without her.

MissMummy: I was a teacher when I signed up and about to become a mummy. Not very imaginitive.

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/02/2013 18:04

My nn was my nn when I was growing up Grin

Passmethecrisps · 14/02/2013 18:09

My nickname is fairly self-explanatory. I really, really like crisps.

Thanks PR I keep meaning to google releuse and forgetting.

Kissy - p is sleeping a lot at the moment. I would suggest ride it out ensuring she doesn't have a temperature and is eating relatively well. Give it a day or two then maybe see your Gp

It is weird - no matter how much sleep P has during the day by now she I getting really impatient to get to bed

zcos · 14/02/2013 18:26

My nn is just my initials...I need a new name!! I would have liked toomanydicks love that show!!

Oh help Trying to make milk to store for dd to have night with my parents on 23rd so me and DH can go out to watch six nations with bfs ...and for 28th so me and DH can go out for anniversary when we go for weekend away and mil can have her night with dd.

Struggling to get to express milk hardly any comes out got 1oz this morn, tried expressing whilst feeding massage etc.
Is it selfish to give some formula?
Dd is 10wks not had any thing but bf or ebm so far
Would want to trial formula on weekend incase of any reactions

Opinions advice ...should I post new threads re this ? Scared of getting flamed!

ChunkyChicken · 14/02/2013 18:28

I signed up when I'd just had DD, was still a bit 'Chunky', was nn 'chunk' by my mate at work (when pg I should add, she isn't just offensively commenting on my weight, & in context it was funny iyswim!!) & I joked that I was doing the Chunky Chicken (not 'Funky Chicken' as is usual) as a snow dance to get a day off school. Clear as mud that....

blonderedhead · 14/02/2013 18:32

Eliza I'm sorry you're going through this. Is it worth trying bottles again? I think you are going to have to push things further yourself as it sounds like everything is very relaxed. Can you push the paeds appt? My hv was shit so I spoke to bf person at hospital who got us in the next day via A&E. May be worth ringing round? They need to do something; I got so sick of hearing, well he seems fine, alert & healthy, we don't know why he isn't gaining. I found the phrase, "so what do you propose to do about this?" helpful. You know L's tongue tie was only found on about the 5th inspection. Even then they weren't sure but referred us to experts at another hospital. Can you ask bf expert if this is a possibility?

I hope I'm not sounding too negative but I was messed around so long and I knew something wasn't right. Lots of love to you both.

ChunkyChicken · 14/02/2013 18:35

zcos there are ways to get more milk from expressing (e.g eating oats, expressing before a feed, taking fenugreek, regularly expressing in the morning, getting up at night etc etc) so there are ways but no its selfish to give formula if you need to. I leaked a lot with DD but couldn't express much, so just collected leakage, froze it & defrosted lots of 1 or 2oz to make up a feed. However, I always left a carton of formula & sterilised bottle just in case. Given I seem to have so much milk this time, it seems silly not to use it but if I couldn't express again, I would do exactly the same.

ChunkyChicken · 14/02/2013 18:36

^ its NOT selfish Blush

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 18:41

The Mac 'n' Cheese is in the oven. Eeeek. How many calories... fuuuuck! Too many! Grin

Ah well. I've been good the rest of the day!

Tomorrow i'll do even better!

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 18:42

MY PHYSIO APPT HAS ARRIVED!!!!

Sorry for shouting, I'm just so relieved! Next week. They have a cancellation. It is a long long way away, but shit, I give not.

Thank fuck. Please let my bits be normal again!

YellowWellies · 14/02/2013 18:43

My nickname comes from the yellow fishermen's wellies I lived in on Orkney.

MM No worries about tomorrow - get well soon. xxx

Had a FAB day - got a £700 tax rebate - and the DWP has finally awarded me my MA and is back paying me £2300 - am chuffed to fuck!

Also went to the dieticians appointment and wonderful news - I didn't have to persuade her that CMPI really exists and isn't colic - as two of her LO had it and she did the whole dairy and soy free diet for 2 years. She was so helpful. We're off to see her again in two months to talk about weaning. Have been advised to wean late, to not even consider dairy til he's a year and possibly 2, to keep BF, and to keep trying soy once every 3 weeks but not to have too much soy as it can mess up the wee mans boy hormones as it contains phytooestrogens.

Thank you chunky been eating oats ... Was thinking of setting alarm for 4am as dd been sleeping a bit longer a few nights but think that would kill me!

I was thinking of giving aptamil pre made cartons to mil and dm as this would be easiest but has fish oil in are there any a bit more plain.

Oh has my new nn worked.

horseylady · 14/02/2013 18:49

BigPigLittlePig · 14/02/2013 18:57

Cannot get little pig to sleep STILL - she's only slept for 90 minutes since 7am Am bracing myself for the screaming later. Maybe she'll sleep well tonight blatantly clutching at straws

PetiteRaleuse · 14/02/2013 18:58

Yeah creme fraiche is pretty unforgiving calorie wise :o

Dixiebell · 14/02/2013 19:08

My name is just the first random thing that came into my head at the time...I need a better name!

I could be up for a Hampshire meet up PP and pikz. Anyone else nearby? Sophia?

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 19:13

DP bought low fat PR I still didn't look at the calorie content though!

Followed it step by step, even gave the dog the 2 rashers of bacon Grin.

Was lovely! We had to use gouda as no gruyere, but other than that, did it like you said! YUM! 3 very happy full people in Detective Towers!

Thank you!

PetiteRaleuse · 14/02/2013 19:15

Oh I'm so pleased you liked it. Always a bit scared when I pass recipes on that they'll be a disappointment. (though have to admit this one is a pretty sure thing)

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 19:18

I was more worried I'd fuck it up! I'm not sure about making sauces that involve cheese! Tricky business cheese is!

GTbaby · 14/02/2013 19:29

Hello thankfullBagOf (name changer?)
I'm feeling like a bag of &@": Confused didn't think this would be the way to fix my insomnia.
New meds seem to have made some difference. Hope ill see a difference after a few more days.

DH is taking LO out of his routine. Annoying me. But feel to crap to complain. N he is currently sorting out laundry. So win some loose some.

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 19:29

This evening we also have a :( baby who has pretty much slept or fed since 4.45. When awake he just wants to be asleep!

ThankfulBagofPeacefulCats · 14/02/2013 19:38

gt Yea, 'tis I Catbag. Was in a bit of an arsey mood yesterday and changed my nn to reflect that. Woke up in a more serene mood today and so did the same Grin

ValiumQueen · 14/02/2013 20:03

YW result! That will help no doubt! I really need to get on to HMRC as I will be due a tax rebate, and tax credits have still not acknowledged arrival of boy child.

MOT tomorrow. Please God let it not be too expensive!

DD2 got sent to bed early as she slapped me on the cheek (face) when I was encouraging her to apologise to her sister for doing the same. I would have given her time out, but Daddy felt bed was more appropriate. She was very tired and plays up when tired.
