Best thing to do is bf glenda as it should help protect her, & should she get it, bm is really good for keeping fluids up etc.

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/02/2013 16:53

Hello new thread! :)

Although, this time last year, DP had a horrible stomach ache/upset and I was bleeding from the tail end of a mc! What a difference a year makes?!

In Valentines tradition, DP has put his back out (not even from a sexathon) and he has a stomach upset so I am nursing him and looking after J... I say looking after and nursing, we've spent mot the day playing a retro Sonic game Blush

I did get a lovely card this morning with a beautiful message in it but that will be it for any romance today, we'll try again in a week probably (to celebrate the year anniversary of J's conception!) Grin

glendathefedupwitch · 14/02/2013 16:55

Ahhhhhh thanks chunky I hope she understands mamma is feeling crud and doesn't play me up - can live with Dottie cuddles n snoozes

Have only been sick once at 11.30 but as at work only managed one cup of tea and 2 rich tea bicycles lol - have kept some lucozade down so far - might send dh out for chicken & sweet corn soup from the Chinese - it's the second best thing to my nans homemade chicken soup - dh knows I'm ill if I ask for it lol

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/02/2013 16:56

Are we having a thankful Thursday again?

I'm thankful for my little family, they're awesome and I'm thankful for the Ikea bag of chocolate I have (my waistline not so much!) Grin

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 17:12

I'm going to rip that fucking boiler right off the wall soon.

It is just over 1 year old. It keeps fucking dropping the pressure, so I keep topping it up, only for it to do it again. Now today, it isn't dropping the pressure, but it won't let me have proper hot water. It took me an hour to wash up and do the bottles because it was so fucking temperamental and I am not like DP who is happy to wash up in cold bloody water.

RAGE DAY!

Okay, to cheer me up, I don't think we have done this before... but... why did you chose your username? I'll start with mine!

I can spot bullshit a mile off. It is very hard to get a lie past me, and DP told me I was like a bloody detective. So here I am. Grin

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 17:14

PR I'll let you know how the mac n cheese goes! I'm DP going to make it tonight! If it goes tits up, it's beans on toast all round! Grin

Brockle · 14/02/2013 17:16

I am thankful for my three healthy boys, DH, an amazing mum and dad and creme eggs

oh and boobies that are definitely hitting less today Smile

kissyfur · 14/02/2013 17:16

Lol at rich tea bicycles glenda! Hope you feel better soon. Definitely keep bfing, I had a similar thing when DD1 was small but carried on bfing and she didn't get it too.

Am a bit worried about LO, she seems to spend a lot of time asleep, seems like most of the day today. When she isn't feeding or sleeping she's not v happy and/or crying. is it normal for a 3 month old to sleep this much? Sorry if that's a silly question but I don't remember DD1 being like this

glendathefedupwitch · 14/02/2013 17:17

I'd recently watched the wizard of oz and div that I am thought the good with was called Glenda but since found out she's a Glinda awkward bloody cow time for a complete change - something to do with becoming a midwife maybe??

BigPigLittlePig · 14/02/2013 17:18

Rich tea bicycles Grin

Think this username is pretty self-explanatory. I am a big pig. And I have a little pig.

Can't beat Mary Poppins, one of my favourite films. Love the chimney sweep dance on the rooftops definitely don't sing along, or dance

Sophiathecheesefairy · 14/02/2013 17:20

It was the day I realised the book on my bedside table had changed from something grown up to Sophia the Snow Fairy. It is currently Alfie's Feet. Perhaps I should change it again. Hmm

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 17:20

Oscar still sleeps a lot too kissy and as the day goes on, he gets less impressed with entertaining himself. He woke at 8, slept 9-9.45, slept 11-12.40, slept 1.40-2.40, and now asleep again at 4.45. He will have at least one more nap today.

He has entertained himself for about 90 minutes in total today.

Is she otherwise well in herself? Has she always slept a lot or is it a new thing?

kissyfur · 14/02/2013 17:21

My user name is how my initial sound - KSF and a cartoon I used to watch when I was younger, about a little bear called kissyfur

ValiumQueen · 14/02/2013 17:26

In my work I help people tackle their addictions. Valium is particularly tricky to manage, and I am fucking good at it!

Wish I was as good at helping my little boy... He was doing fine until he woke early from his lunchtime nap with wind. He has been feeding, crying and sleeping in a cycle since, and not happy doing any of them.

Most of his 3-6 stuff doesn't fit as he is so fat long in the body. Cloth nappies don't help, but even with sposies stuff does not fit. Some stuff he hasn't even worn.

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 17:27

GULP My biggest baby just text me 'Mum I am going out with a girl from school'.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Grow down, grow down, not up!

Fuckity fuck!

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 17:27

I am so not ready for this Shock. It's always been I hate girls...

StuntNun · 14/02/2013 17:28

She could be fighting off an illness Kissy or doing some developmental leap.

Can't believe they made you watch that Glenda. I would have had my eyes shut and my fingers in my ears saying la la la I can't hear the terrible scary dentist noises.

Ha the Stunt Nuns was a stupid thing my BFF and I came up with when we were teenagers. The idea was that you couldn't have just anyone impersonating a nun. So if you were making a movie and you needed to have a nun doing high speed pursuit or hanging on to a helicopter or bungee jumping or something then you would hire a professional Stunt Nun. Our tag line was, You never know when you'll need a Stunt Nun. Btw now I wish I had used StuntMum but I didn't think of that at the time!

detective DD1 got two cards and a teddy from her boyfriend. She is 6. I hate it.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/02/2013 17:33

Detective I hope it goes OK

My user name comes from my blog which is very ranty. raleuse means woman who rànts in French, and I am little, hence PetiteRaleuse.

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 17:36

I remember him sending a card when he was 4, to a 6 year old girl. That was cute.

But not anymore waaaaaaaaaaaah!!

TheTiger · 14/02/2013 17:39

I'm TheTiger, as in The Tiger Who Came To Tea.

Today I resembled the tiger, as I have been devouring everything in the kitchen.

kissyfur · 14/02/2013 17:39

She does sleep a fair bit usually but it seems more at the moment, plus when she's awake she's just pretty miserable. No temp or anything tho and doesn't seem to have a cold. She's feeding ok tho so will try not to worry

My DD1 got a valentines video Whatsapp message from her bf this morning, was v cute. We sent one back Smile

Elizadoesdolittle · 14/02/2013 17:40

stunt it's the HV and also to a certain extent the consultant we've been seeing at the peads unit at our local hospital. She weighed 8lbs 1ozs when born, lost quite a bit and then has slowly put on weight to reach 8lbs 13ozs. Shes been checked for tongue tie, has had a urine sample but aside from constantly being weighed I don't think they've looked for anything else as far as I know. We've seen the consultant twice and he looks her over but I don't know what he's looking for. Just says she seems healthy and happy which she is. I've been taking domperidone for 9 days which she recommended for my milk supply. E constantly dribbles and on occasions has vomited up brown sick which I assume is old blood. She tried to get my next appt with the consultant moved from 5th march to an earlier date but the only thing he could do was if I go to a different hospital further away at 1:30 on Monday afternoon and sit and wait till he has a gap. Now there are various reasons why I don't want to do this as it's a massive hassle and I've arranged someone to have DD1 for the march appt so I can actually chat properly. On Monday I'd have to have DD1, god knows how long we will have to wait and I have plans that I've been looking forward to for ages. However if I don't go I'm going to look like an uncaring cunt. If I really thought there was something desperately wrong with her or I thought they'd actually do something then of course I'd go. The weekly weigh ins I don't actually mind, it's the bloody fuss that comes after them that drives me insane with just further appointments and inane chat that doesn't actually solve anything. I'm wondering if its worth getting her checked over at a private place. I do trust the consultant, he's one of the top peads at the hospital and I actually have a good relationship with my HV but she's starting to annoy me with the constant checks.

Ah sorry, that's turned into a massive post/rant.

pennie thanks for the tip, will investigate where my nearest snappy snaps is.

TheDetective · 14/02/2013 17:46

Eliza Sorry, I forgot to say, we got ours done at Max Speilmanns.

fruitpastilles · 14/02/2013 17:49

I was greedily scoffing a packet of fruit pastilles when I signed up!
