Ha ha, nice one :o

ValiumQueen · 20/02/2013 09:42

I grew up with homeopathy and trust it more than a lot of conventional medicine. Probably not the best view for a nurse, but I always keep my opinions to myself. I do however always refer to the doctors for my childrens health and only tried these granules as they were recommended by HV. It has, however, got me thinking about it again. It was lovely reading all the names of the remedies and remembering my Gran in particular, who never saw a conventional doctor until she went into hospital and died. I am sure that would have just reinforced her opinions.

I watched call the midwife for the first time yesterday and loved it.

ValiumQueen · 20/02/2013 09:44

Very good title stunt what would we do without you?

gardenpixie32 · 20/02/2013 09:51

I am failing miserably at keeping up.

Very pleased with my new growing confidence in taking the girls out. I am taking them out during a feed today! I just hope we don't have double meltdowns in town. Going to Boots to buy size 4 teats and VQ has inspired me to look in the charity shops, we have loads around here.

I hope everyone has a nice day.

Time is flying ladies, my babies are 5 months old in a few days!

ValiumQueen · 20/02/2013 09:55

I look forward to hearing about your bargains garden I love a boot sale too.

ValiumQueen · 20/02/2013 09:55

Car boot that is. Obviously

BigPigLittlePig · 20/02/2013 10:10

Liking the new thread title stunt. Suppose the threads are slowing down as we're no longer like caged animals, trapped in by the snow.

garden 5 months!! Scary. Very very scary.

Not such a good night last night, after 3 nights of 9-5, she went back to waking at 1 as well. Wouldn't have been too bad if I'd gone to bed at a sensible hour, but stayed up til gone 11, stupidly thinking she'd be asleep for ages idiot

vq we're saving lots up to sell at the car boots once they start up again, just have to make sure I don't spend all the money we make! I'm eagerly awaiting the 1st of the ebay parcels, should be here today Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 20/02/2013 10:10

Oops nearly forgot - fucking bollocks its sweary fucking Wednesday

Cacacaz · 20/02/2013 10:12

What I meant to say VQ before M decided to wake up was that my sil got the granules on minor ailments and we are in Scotland too. I'm shocked you have been told to buy them first before they will prescribe, it's not as if they do that with drug addicts who get methadone and they don't pay any taxes

Passmethecrisps · 20/02/2013 10:15

5 months garden? Amazing! Good luck with trip out.

Not a car boot fan myself. Don't like stuff. DH loves stuff. He keeps absolutely everything including the cats whiskers and P's dried umbilical stump

Does anyone else's baby just like hanging out in the Moses basket? P was mumping a bit earlier on so I stuck her in her sleeping bag and popped her in the basket. She has been there for 45 minutes chatting and playing. She has only just fallen asleep. At least she seems happy.

I am completely giving myself over to telly watching today.

Passmethecrisps · 20/02/2013 10:19

Oh yes! I also meant to ask about babies crying out in their sleep. P has been doing it the last few nights. I presume it has something to do with her not being very well. She lets out a wail or sometimes a boohoo but when I look at her she has her eyes closed and looks peaceful usually. Sometimes she is rubbing her head from side to side.

Any ideas why she does it? I feel bad for not doing anything but I don't know what she is needing

StuntNun · 20/02/2013 10:34

Nightmares perhaps Pass?

OP posts:
kirrinIsland · 20/02/2013 10:49

Yay tiger A decent sleep makes all the difference doesn't it? DP did the night shift last night, armed with bottles of EBM, so I slept 12-7 Grin

sophia yes, I've had a headache since yesterday, and period like pains. Am bleeding as well, but not too much.

petite could have been worse - could have been your toothbrush!

Morning ladies

Have looked into the MAS but not sure if any pharmacys where I am do it - will have to investigate could have saved myself £12 on nit treatment that is still in my hair after 7 washes

Crap day yesterday but not dwelling today Dottie's at cm so have caught up a little in sleep though have a thumping headache and snotty nose - so don't want anymore lergy!!! Should get out of bed an make full use of being baby free by blitzing the bathroom or taking dd1 out but I really CBA!!! So fed up of mundane housework shit - dh doesn't worry about it - why should I? cos we'd soon be in a pig sty

Hope everyone is having a wicked Wednesday!!!

ComradeJing · 20/02/2013 11:46

Stunt I'm going to take up my ou Australia course at the next cycle. Debating switching to psychology. I'm dreading doing the housework, looking after the dc and studying but needs musts.

Does anyone else out their dc down and give them a minute to whinge to see if they'll fall asleep on their own? Ds can self settle a lot of the time but not always. It feels very different from dd who never left my arms but her sleep was just so, so bad that I swore it would be different with ds. It has been but I'm frightening myself by imagining that I'm damaging him by not always cuddling him or feeding him or rocking him to sleep. He's put down and left to kick and play by himself a lot more than dd ever was.

Elizadoesdolittle · 20/02/2013 11:49

Happy fuckin wankstaining Wednesday.

DD1 at nursery so have had quite a peaceful morning and even managed to Hoover and do 2 loads of washing....With dryer going on too. i always use my dryer for underwear, socks, vests, babygros and pj's. everything else goes on a clothes horse in my utility room or outside in the nice weather. Oh and I even managed to have a shower before the DD's woke up which is a huge achievement in itself!

pass E does that too. She cries out and I go in to get her and her eyes are shut and I she wasn't crying shed look peaceful. I give it a minute or so and she stops, I've put it down to either a dream or a bit of windy pain.

PetiteRaleuse · 20/02/2013 11:50

Ooh my blog is headlined on the MN Bloggers network again Blush

ShellyBobbs · 20/02/2013 11:53

My son loved just kicking about on his own. Don't feel guilty about it Wink

I'm feeling very lazy today, was just getting up at 8 this morning but Tommy fell asleep again. I jumped back in bed and got up at 10.45, I even answered the door to the postman in my pajamas Grin

kissyfur · 20/02/2013 11:57

I'd never heard of the minor ailments pharmacy thing. Will ask at our local one.

Got a poorly DD1 here so stuck indoors. High temp and a cold since yesterday, and she was sick this morning. Poor little love looks really fed up Sad

Still haven't managed to get LO to sleep in her cot in the evenings, keep trying but she just wakes up and cries! I would really like some of my evenings back now, any tips ladies?

Great news on the house YW

kirrinIsland · 20/02/2013 11:57

Yes, I do that comrade - how else will they learn to self settle? not working so far! I don't leave her long, it's pretty obvious when it's not going to work.

Kyzordz · 20/02/2013 12:08

Good fucking afternoon everyone (only just!) Oh how I do love sweary Wednesday!

The threads do seem to be slowing down and I still can't catch up! Eric is out for the morning so i'm doing the frantic house clean as usual. Tonight will be an odd one, i'm covering for my mum at work later, it's just a couple of hours, but E will be with his dad who will have to put him to bed. Fc it goes well, I hate leaving him. I also have barely driven for about a year so that bit makes me a touch nervous also, but I'll be fine i'm sure - I have had a couple of practice goes and driven this route last week so I should be ok. Providing I can remember where it is!

Hope you all had good nights, I'm going to try to catch up with the thread when i've finished the hoovering! I've skimmed it, and my LO cries out in his sleep too sometimes, i've not left him because he always sounds really distraught, so I pick him up. Am I better leaving him a moment to see if it stops as suddenly as it started? It always sounds like the kind of scream you'd expect them to let out if you trapped their finger, or something!

He's been a bit bunged up poo wise the past few days, i'm going to try the pear juice in water thing, i do try to give him cooled boiled water anyway between feeds but he hates it. I add sugar if he's struggling for a poo but wonder if i'd be better to add it all the time. I just didn't want to be overloading him with sugary stuff.

passme E likes to be in his cot sometimes but not for quite that long!

garden wow, that went quickly!!! E is 15 weeks old now and that went fast too.

He was weighed yesterday, he's 15lb 13 now, the porker!
