Swishy new shoes!

I have big south facing patio doors in my dining room so put 2 drying racks up there. Clothes dry in less than a day regardless of weather. When warm I'll open the door and if there's no rain lift them outside. Only thing is I've noticed mould on bottom of doors. Could be a coincidence, may even have been there when I moved in. Nothing the steam cleaner won't sort! In summer I will use the line more. The tumble drier is in the garage. When dp is at work I use it for towels etc (shh, the leccy nazi would have a fit if he knew!)

Day 2 of antibs and I think the rash is looking better. Idiot dp managed to juat about choke her tonight squirting 2.5mls straight in Angry . I did tell him to do it slowly. Needless to say 2 mins later he ended up wearing them!

MissMummy1 · 19/02/2013 22:22

sp dryer. spellcheck can't spell!

Passmethecrisps · 19/02/2013 22:26

Ooo. I love irregular choice shoes. My bridesmaids wore these at my wedding. They were in purple. I was jealous of their lovely shoes

Elizadoesdolittle · 19/02/2013 22:28

glenda we have tried cup feeding and my HV had a go with no joy. I have been trying syringe feeding with some success, however she cries whilst doing it and ends up choking and sometimes bringing it all if not more back up so swings and roundabout really.

tiger glad you got it ok and glad it's now back in stock. Hopefully that's the gaviscon shortage over with. And that's interesting what you've said about the tube feeding. Would be a great help to be able to do that at home.

I am coming round to the fact that being admitted into hospital might not actually be too bad thanks to you lovely lot. I skyped DH earlier and he too was of the opinion that whilst not pleasant for any of us, by not doing it we may end up inadvertently blocking further investigation. So am feeling more positive about things and will see what Friday morning brings.

yw fantastic news. Hope everything goes smoothly for you. Do you know how long the chain is there end?

Have had a lovely day out with one of my friends who has a DD 2 days younger than my DD1. Pair of little terrors when they get together Smile

Ooo is sweary Wednesday tomorrow. I did enough swearing yesterday and have a fun day lined up so I hope I don't have anything to swear about but I'm sure i will join in none the less Grin

glendathefedupwitch · 19/02/2013 22:32

Yay congratulations YW - house looks lovely!!!

Pikz · 19/02/2013 22:36

Brilliant just when I thought we had nights a little cracked he wakes up at 10.15, has 6oz milk and a poo. Random. He had been asleep since 7. Usually doesn't wake til 12/1.

YellowWellies · 19/02/2013 22:37

Eliza good luck. My sister tried to use a supplementary feeding system when feeding up her 2lb prem daughter - it was a total nightmare trying to get a fiddly wee pipe into the baby's mouth when latching on and led to much swearing, heartache and it being abandoned shortly after as an invention no doubt conceived of by someone, most likely a bloke, who had never BF a small wriggly baby. So yeah Confused see how hospital goes - fingers crossed xxx

kirrinIsland · 19/02/2013 22:39

Yay YW congratulations!

We don't have an airing cupboard so I use the bathroom as a laundry. I am currently petitioning for a separate tumble drier as I think the washer/dryer ones are a bit rubbish. Not really anywhere to put it though.

TMI - had my coil done today. Bit ouchy at the moment. I was warned to expect random bleeding for the first 3 months which I could live without but
Hopefully it will settle down ok.

Elizadoesdolittle · 19/02/2013 22:44

I meant to add that a spoke to somebody at the LLL and have to say I was quite disappointed. She was a lovely lady but pretty much the only advice to come out of it was for me to feed more. Perhaps if somebody added another 5 hrs to a day and took DD1 off my hands for that time I would be able too. To be fair she was very supportive and I wasn't expecting a miracle (although would have been lovely if she'd had one) I just thought she might have had more to offer. I know a few of you have had a fantastic response from them so not knocking them as they do offer a great service and I know they are all voluntary, just felt she had more to give. God I sound such a bitch, she was probably just having an off day.

Donnadoon · 19/02/2013 22:45

Ooh cat we had exactly the same (2.5Lwb) and our head gasket went too...and it was myyyyy fault it went because I ignored warning light doh.

BigPigLittlePig · 19/02/2013 22:56

Good old ebay mm Grin

I have a few amazing pairs of shoes, can't walk in them so well but I do like to just look at them. They make me happy.

Crossing everything for another 7 hours tonight. My grans coming down for the day tomorrow, she hasn't seen dd for 7 weeks so she'll notice a big change about 4 lbs for starters

Contradictionincarnate · 19/02/2013 23:29

well done mm1 my sister has loads of irregular choice. I really want some but can't justify cost I like the cat boot ones! :)
going to try out new zebra shoes on Sat... taking ballet pumps for walks to and from train tho! last pair of zebra heels I left in a taxi Sad oh how I loved those shoes!

Contradictionincarnate · 19/02/2013 23:39

btw yw sorry forgot your in Scotland MUCH better conveyancing system than in Wales and England! Smile
re drying clothes we have a washer dryer got it off recommendations and much better than previous one that just made all clothes wrinkly though still not as good as separate but no room really for one...unless I moved recycling bins... Mmm that's an idea! have a bit of damp so don't want to make worse ... its always in the strangest places like on an internal wall dividing kitchen from back hallway area!?
putting washing on line definitely best not sure how that will work with dd in tow!?

Contradictionincarnate · 20/02/2013 00:33

dd just scared the life out of me she was fast asleep then started full on crying she never does that normally starts moaning a bit then I hear her suck her hand! really scared me thought she was in pain maybe a nightmare?

TheDetective · 20/02/2013 00:41

I have shit luck. Well, DP does.

Fucking bastarding thankfuck for sweary Wednesday car insurance twat faces are cunts. Money robbing cunts.

Id be here all day moaning, but they are completely fleecing us for the car mum has given us. We are supposed to be saving money. I'm so bloody angry.

Might rant more tomorrow. Once we attempt to convince them we were given the car as a gift a year ago Hmm.

StuntNun · 20/02/2013 01:15

Aaaaaargh fuckity fuck, sweary Wednesday is here. What is going on? J has been feeding since about 1 a.m. but he also had boob juice at 5, 8 and 10 before that.

OP posts:
ValiumQueen · 20/02/2013 01:47

detective your DP is young and male. He will be shockingly expensive to insure on anything. Yours will go up too as they are no longer able to charge less just because you are female. May be better for you to have your mums car.

J slept 4 hours. Hopeful for quick feed and repeat.

I am going to try out the local buses on thursday. All a bit alien to me as have always had a car.

ChunkyChicken · 20/02/2013 04:28

Feel a bit bad. DS has been grumbling & moaning for maybe 30mins but I've been kind of ignoring it. Ah well, if he'd been that desperate, he'd have cried!! Still, 8hrs not to be sniffed at...

Glad you're feeling a bit more positive Eliza. Fc it gets investigations & more support kick-started, & she starts gaining nicely.

DH has got the bit between the teeth about getting a new car. Our insurance would be massively greater too detective (for an older Volvo).

DS having a really good feed so fc both he & J go back to sleep quickly VQ.

StuntNun · 20/02/2013 05:48

This is one hungry baby... and one tired mummy. I'm supposed to be taking the kids to the museum today but that isn't going to be possible if J wants to be fed constantly.

Pissflaps.

OP posts:
ValiumQueen · 20/02/2013 06:13

How often have you been feeding him overnight stunt? Is he spurting? J slept another three hours but waking at 5.15 means I am up for the day. He took a good hour to settle earlier so the granules are not a miracle cure like I was hoping. I obviously need to give them a chance and I had not given a full dose. I have been reading a few homeopathy papers and they say for these symptoms it will not work - the banana shaping and back arching, but is effective when babies bring their knees up. He does not do that and I told the HV this, so a bit pissed off that I may have wasted nearly a tenner. I think homeopathy stuff lasts a long time though so no doubt would come in handy. I may try another cure that seems to fit him to a tee. And the two can be taken together.

I really resent having to pay for things to try to help my baby. So far I have spent nearly twenty quid and the HV wants me to spend another tenner on colief. I have never as an adult been told to buy anything over the counter so why so with babies? Heroin substitutes are free so why not? Grr!

ValiumQueen · 20/02/2013 06:33

After an hour of obvious discomfort I have given him some more granules. He burped within minutes and settled fairly quickly.

Contradictionincarnate · 20/02/2013 06:44

yeah stunt spurt?
thinking dd has to be having one back up again at 6 she was eating all afternoon too yesterday whilst sil was here she is training to be mw and was Shock as used to dealing with new borns on post natal ward who usually need encouragement not constant feeding for 3 hours!
it has to be a spurt! if wonder weeks is right I have another 6 days of this! piss poo wank bloody bollocks! ...
glad I tried dd on a ff the other day though cos at least dh could give a bottle later to give me nipples a break!!

PetiteRaleuse · 20/02/2013 06:46

Morning. Why is that my toddler wakes up more during the fucking night than my baby at the moment? She isn't hungry, though says she is. I'm assuming nightmares. Very dull.

Well this thread is getting quieter and quieter. Good luck to you goingback to work today. I had my end of year review yesterday by phone. I'm dreading rtw. Dreading using all my annual leave up on sick children leave.

So far this year in two months I'd have needed to take over four weeks off Hmm

What a great use of annual leave that would have been.

I'm in too good a mood to be sweary yet. Let's wait til DSD1 wakes up :o

Contradictionincarnate · 20/02/2013 06:53

aw vq can't you get colif on prescription or do you have to pay for all prescriptions? (think they are all free here in Wales).
must say I'm very sceptical about homeopathy it seems the opposite of science and I don't understand from reading what it is how it could possibly work.

forgot to say yesterday peeps but seeing sil yesterday was an eye opener she is trainee mw in hackney where babies are adopted straight away, mothers are homeless and have addictions. It's strange the number of things she can't say due to social deprevation, she can't recommend nipple cream for example she has to tell new mums to use breast milk! I would have given up if I didn't have lanisoh!
...looks like dh wants the other v full boob too! Shock

Cacacaz · 20/02/2013 07:23

VQ I registered Murray on the minor ailments scheme. My mum works in a pharmacy. We haven't paid for any medication since M was born. Go into your local pharmacy and ask about it. SIL said the granules worked wonders (she got them on the minor ailments scheme) although she found them a bit of a faff when trying to count them out without touching them. Info here www.nhs24.com/FindLocal/~/media/NHS24/Leaflets/MAS%20leaflet%20-%20WEB.ashx

YW fantastic news on the house, it looks lovely.

Garden we have bumpsters on M's cot.

M has a cold, been using saline drops and a nasal aspirator both have resulted in him shouting at me.
