Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh and you'd have to have quite a big patch of mould for the spores to have an effect on health

PurplePidjin · 19/02/2013 20:51

Unless it's actually pissing it down, everything gets hung out. Then it comes in smelling fresh to go on radiators/airer. I use the security locks to keep the windows open a fraction and the air circulating. I've lived here 7 1/2 years with no condensation problems, my mum does it the same way and has lived in her place for 27 years with no problems :)

ValiumQueen · 19/02/2013 21:04

Catching up in stages.

fatima I always get G as I produce kids with fat feet. Also a slimmer foot can get away with a wider shoe but not the other way around.

MissMummy1 · 19/02/2013 21:06

When's the housewarming yw ? Grin Grin Grin

I have bought myself a new pair of shoes to cheer myself up about going back to work tomorrow. 2 hours and I am taking Tilly with me. Not the end of the world, but I have nee shoes to wear at least Smile

(nb, I have needed new work shoes for 6+ months)

FatimaLovesBread · 19/02/2013 21:10

I was going to say I'd recommend a G VQ I used to fit Clarks shoes, in an Independant shop not Clarks and we sold Gs more than any other width

BigPigLittlePig · 19/02/2013 21:10

The day before LO was born, I climbed over a 4ft high wall to avoid getting my work shoes wet. Turns out they would have had plenty of time 7 months to dry

Contradictionincarnate · 19/02/2013 21:13

yw feel free to dm me with any questions as a property lawyer and prepare for legal side to take a few months from instruction of lawyers by you and the vendors.

YellowWellies · 19/02/2013 21:20

Thanks all - we're in Scotland and previously sold to rent so thankfully don't have the stress of buying and selling at the same time. Have been told that conveyancing and missives should take 7 weeks with a move in date in early April but I reckon it'll take longer - we have the rental place until mid June so no rush from our end. Mmmmm sauvignon blanc I luffs you so Wine Wine

ShellyBobbs · 19/02/2013 21:22

I have 2 clothes maidens and 3 radiators permanently covered with wet clothes :)

ValiumQueen · 19/02/2013 21:23

Great news YW

Well, the granules went in well, indeed he was smacking his lips and asking for more. I hope they help. We are just having settling feed and I gave them beforehand. I will give them before feeds overnight too and report back.

I want to move to a nice house full of character.

J sleeps in his own room with an angel monitor. All naps in there or often in pram as out twice a day at least. He sleeps in the car too and never seems distressed so long as fed. Famous last words.

I use tumble drier as we have so much washing. If dry and not too cold I use the line. Always have nappies drying in the kitchen.

Passmethecrisps · 19/02/2013 21:26

That's a great image BP!

Thank you for the gaviscon info tiger. I will call my pharmacy tomorrow.

Hoorah hoorah hoorah for accepted offers YW! I am dead chuffed for you.

Nice to have new shoes MM. What did you get?

Was it fatima whose DH ate all the garlic bread? LTB for that defo!

Well, p has been completely miserable for two days now. Apart from first thing in the morning she pretty much cries, whimpers and whinges all day. She wakes up crying and spends any awake time mumping to go back to bed. She has rarely smiled and just looks completely fed up. I have checked her temperature and it actually seemed a bit low - 36oC. Is that something to be concerned about?

Earlier on I started to feel crap. Difficult to put my finger on apart from completely wabbit. If this is how she feels then I have massive sympathy.

Do you chaps only Calpol with a raised temperature? Earlier when I came over not great the first thing I did was take come painkillers. It seems unfair that she doesn't get any if she feels the same.

Passmethecrisps · 19/02/2013 21:31

I grew up in a house where the condensation ran down the walls and froze so hard my mum had to chip our duvets off the wall in winter - true fact.

As a result my house now is toasty as a toasty thing. There are always clothes being dried but I am a terror for using the tumble drier. I find it OP cold still for hanging out.

horseylady · 19/02/2013 21:37

pass now I give Calpol if he's full of cold. Yesterday and today he had some as he's full of cold. I figured most people take paracetamol based drugs with colds so he had some. He was a bit warm but grumpy. Seemed to help.

sophia I dry my clothes downstairs. Wood flooring near windows. It's pretty much open plan so moisture doesn't build up. It's only drying in closed unventilated places where there's an issue. To be honest everyone will say there's an issue with everything. We have a cupboard. It's not an airing one. I wouldn't put anything damp in it.

Been out in the peaks today!!!! Ds a good lad in the restaurant and coffee shop!!! Had a lovely walk, did some shopping and just had a nice day!! I also rode this morning and my core is starting to return thanks Nike training app he's just full of cd though. Boooooooo to colds and snot. Seriously feels like two weeks of cold, one week off poor lad. Off out again tomorrow for dh birthday!!!!

yw congrats on the house!!

blonderedhead · 19/02/2013 21:41

We don't have a tumble drier so I'm afraid it's spores for us until it starts being nice enough to hang clothes outside.

Bit sad my Mum hasn't been in touch after our falling out yesterday, we were meant to go out for the day today but she never replied to my conciliatory text last night. Had a nice day with L but just hate being on bad terms with anyone esp my Mum.

Got L's passport photos - so cute! We are going away for Easter so need to send the forms off.

Hope poorly babies/children and tired Mummies get good healing sleep tonight and Gaviscon is plentiful for those who need it. What a lovely community MN is (esp our corner of it) when people are in need.

daisychain76 · 19/02/2013 21:42

Congrats YW. Eliza hope the appointment on Friday makes things clearer. Izzy hope your appointment went well?

Had nice day pottering about with dcs and dh. H is very snotty so. not anticipating much sleep tonight.

Sophiathecheesefairy · 19/02/2013 21:45

I will continue with my laundromat theme in the living room then!

pass I use Calpol if he is misery and I know is not food, tired, wind or poo. We have to be super super sick to get a temp in our family so is not always a good indicator of how rotten we feel. She may be coming down with a cold. You know yourself the days before a cold comes out and is visible to others can actually be the days when you feel worse.

detective just watched last nights Black Mirror. Left me with a very uncomfortable feeling. Bit sick and confusing! Confused

ShellyBobbs · 19/02/2013 21:52

I now have a modern phone and not one that crashes everytime I try to log on here. Many a time I've had to rip off the battery in frustration Grin Grin

YellowWellies · 19/02/2013 21:52

Thanks for the congrats my dears.

We too use calpol if he's off colour / whingy / out of sorts and its not input or output or reflux. Every time I've done this he had immediately perked up - only needed to dose twice in the last fortnight which I think is teething. I'd take a painkiller for tooth ache so don't see why he should suffer... is this awful? Blush

ShellyBobbs · 19/02/2013 21:54

Calpol saves sanity. It's a fact Grin Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 19/02/2013 21:56

Yeh, what shelly said.
Have used calpol many a time on dsd, revived her like nothing else could. Have used it once, the day after jabs, on dd. She slept for 7 hours afterwards. Blummin' magical!

ValiumQueen · 19/02/2013 22:11

pass 36 deg is fine. P is not going to get hypothermia in your house I am sure! I give calpol if temp over 38 or very clearly in pain. I am a bit mean like that.

Off to bed. Sweet long dreams to all x

Passmethecrisps · 19/02/2013 22:11

Awesome. She just looks sad. Poor sausage. I will give her some tomorrow morning. I think she is teething as well. In the bath she spend ages chewing on my finger - giving it a good proper nomming.

She was dead chirpy when she had a proper cold but now she seems miserable but nothing I can properly see. Same as me. Just totally meh.

Thankfully she has been sleeping well so hopefully that should help her recover.

Passmethecrisps · 19/02/2013 22:12

No chance of that VQ! She always feels warm - I like to use her as my own hot baby bottle

Passmethecrisps · 19/02/2013 22:16

Oh blonder I think I missed your post about a fall out with your mum. How horrible. I hope she comes round soon. Life's too short not to speak to those you love

ValiumQueen · 19/02/2013 22:19

I have a friend who's little boy would always cry about 9pm. Turned out his big sister used to bring him into her bed to get warm, then turf him out again, around 9pm Grin babies are also useful when camping for a similar reason, although not really suitable for keeping your feet warm. So long as their little ice block hands are covered though.
