I hope it has all gone well at the drs vq

BigPigLittlePig · 08/02/2013 11:14

Its just taken me an hour to catch up!

After LOs crazed cluster feeding for 24 hours, she only fed at 10, 2 and 7 overnight - boobs are like cannonballs and poor dh got a squirt of milk in the face when I moved Blush

vq I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a hard time, we've had it comparatively easy although there have been some runs of really shit nights, so I can't imagine how tough it must be for you. I hope you can begin to see a way forward after your trip to the drs.

evil and the twin mummy venturing out (baby brain can't remember names) - hope your trips go well.

I just scared LO massively by sniffing as she was nodding off to sleep.
Bloody cat has just jumped into pram and gone to sleep, seems his fave places at the mo are everywhere he's not allowed Hmm

ChunkyChicken · 08/02/2013 11:18

It was me that mentioned pork YW. Same thing with DD iirc. Also citrus (so no juice first thing) & a bit with choc. As neither DD nor DS get pain from it, I just live with the excessive washing caused!!

Thanks stunt I do try to do that, especially in front of the mirror LOL!! As for pelvic floors, well I can sneeze w/out weeing, but I barely remember to do them. Must. Try. Harder.

Tiger if you lay flat on your back on the floor then tense as if to do a sit-up but not actually do one you can see if your stomach tents/domes. If it does, it means your muscles are separated. If they don't appear to be, you could gently prod your stomach and assess where it feels firm. Mine feels firm all the way until a little ridge that runs vertically around my bellybutton. It's about a cm/finger width gap.

YellowWellies · 08/02/2013 11:19

EMPTY WASHING BASKET

Right I must go out a morning of house work has made me silly.

BigPigLittlePig · 08/02/2013 11:23

Ooh back into most active

MissMummy1 · 08/02/2013 11:42

yw want to do mine when you get here? Wink It's taken me an hour to put a load away in between appeasing velcro baby.Hmm

Dickhead has gone out to buy more dive weights for his trip tomorrow. This would be fine should he not already have 3 belts and enough weights to supply the entire club... I'm furious, yesterdays argument stemmed from me suggesting we make a budget as his frivilous spending resulted in us using my overdraft last month to pick up the pieces when his work fucked up his pay. Angry

I think I'm going to get some advice about where I stand should I leave him. It's the last thing I want to do. I love him and he's an amazing dad but yesterday cannot and will not be happening again. Sad

I think M's rash is flaring up again Sad Definitely thinking it'a a polyester allergy after I put her in a poly fleece hoody thing yesterday - it's the only constant I can think of since I cut out fabric conditioner.

FatimaLovesBread · 08/02/2013 11:55

chunky my physio said to pull the bottom of your tummy in as if your trying to fasten a tight pair of jeans and hold it for a minute, building up to 3 minutes. It'll work your tummy muscles as well as the ones round to your back and pelvic floor.

We're looking through childcare at the moment, we'll hopefully only need on day a week. We've visited a nursery which charges £34.50 a day and got another nursery to visit which is £36. There's 3 childminders near by so I've emailed th. two have got back, one is £30 a day and the other does flexible hours and charges £3.50/hr. The childminders work from 7am and the nursery from 7:15am, I work flexi time between 7-7.
I'm not sure which will be the better option at the moment? Going to go do more visits

Clarella · 08/02/2013 11:55

good luck vq!

oh mm sorry he's being an idiot. I'm sure you can work through it (if you want it?) my mum is always telling me how she and my dad argued when I was first born because of it all, money etc. we are arguing about which boob I put him on and when ffs. it was a bright yellow poo that won me my argument yesterday but it started again today Hmm

where's this moist active tally?

hmm lo will now only nap in day in mothercare swing..... how do I put his down in his cot?!

just bought new mattress for amby hammock I got 3rd hand for £30 - is that fly?? (what is fly??? late to the party as always! well we were the last to be born on the antenatal thread!)

ooo hope so pennie! got bed side cot which is now going well but want to use hammock in day and then maybe night sometimes as is a good travel cot.

my god that's expensive. just filled out nursery form this morn. is it bad I only looked at the one round the corner based on site of secure mental hospital cos it's nearby and next to a nature reserve??!!

as a teacher I'm more interested in the atmosphere than ofsted reports (though thisone has outstanding for safety lol!) I really liked the staff and the facilities. all the local ones are good. I'm really not sure how ofsted judge progress in babies??? I actuallyllike the new way of inspecting that cane out in Sept we got outstanding despite no lessons observed as outstanding as kids made so much progress (sen)

zcos · 08/02/2013 12:33

thanks stunt she is 9 weeks ... will try the steam kitchen trick later I think ... she seems to have a bit of a cough too which she didn't have before.
go vq! let us know what doc says - its sometimes a lottery and what doc you have depends on quality of advice and if you get a sympathetic doc. think sympathy is v important.

zcos · 08/02/2013 12:42

petite stupid question but how do I really know if its gone to her chest? and why do these things always happen on Fridays - when doctors will be closed for the weekend!

PetiteRaleuse · 08/02/2013 12:52

zcos sometimes you can hear it yourself but te best thing to do is get a Dr to listen as they can catch it a lot earlier. Is she breathing ok? Feeding ok? Fever?

It always happens on Fridays because that is the law of Sod. It sucks.

ValiumQueen · 08/02/2013 13:18

I personally prefer things to happen at the weekend as the OOH service here is much better - seen locally, seen quickly, not having to wait over an hour in a waiting room full of infectious people etc.

horseylady · 08/02/2013 13:19

Zcos as pr says you can hear it.

Lo got gaviscon which I'm happy with. I asked about stay down formula and he said try one thing first. Fabulous, sensible gp!!! He said there should be a difference in 10 days and after that he should hopefully need no more due to his age!!! But straight back if no improvement. His grand daughter suffered so was fully sympathetic.

Last feed less projectile vom!!! Need to try size 3 again though as he was struggling to eat it!! Fingers crossed it's short term!!

vq good luck!!

Kyzordz · 08/02/2013 13:35

Having one of those days! He's whingy, not happy with anything, had a full on meltdown earlier. Dont know what to do with him, no idea what's wrong, though he's cUrrently asleep thank god. Guess when he wakes I'll have to go through the motions of exhausting all options of entertaining him again! I'll shuffle off and try knitting whilst he's asleep. This will pass, I'm sure really hope, cos I'm really apparently quite rubbish at making him happy or at the very least content!

StuntNun · 08/02/2013 13:38

Woo my blog has been highlighted on the front page again of the MN bloggers network.

As you were.

horseylady · 08/02/2013 14:17

Det - try going back to the size 2's. If he still possets then go see your gp. Ds always posseted a bit and not after every feed but he was getting increasingly worse and starting to projectile vom. The gp basically said they can get into a reflux circle which begins to cycle out of control. As the muscle should be strengthening to keep food down, it can weaken and allow more food up. Which is what he suspects is happening to ds. As I said he's not especially in pain, he cries sometimes with it but not all the time. He seemed to think 10-14 days would see it resolved. Might be worth thinking about but maybe change back to 2's initially?

Right about to try the flow 3 again as the gaviscon is too thick I think for the 2's. Well he was sucking really hard earlier. I've got the 2's on standby again....

Catbag · 08/02/2013 14:43

Nice work, PR!

Hope the doctor's visit goes well VQ

The trip to town was a resounding success! The babies were immaculately behaved and getting them and the double pushchair in and out of the car was pretty straightforward god bless sliding doors. I cannot begin to express how this small thing has made my month Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 08/02/2013 14:54

Well done Catbag I kind of get whe ou'e coming from as I have yet to venture somewhere that involves getting out of car and doing stuff on my own with both LO and DD1 who is a bit of a bolter (though I do have reins). I know that once I have taken them both out on my own a few times, and got stuff done, I will feel a lot better about having them both at home full time when DD1 stops nursery in a couple of months.

Kyzordz · 08/02/2013 15:10

Awesome PR

Can understand why you're so pleased cat I'd be over the moon!

Possibly stunt he's 13.5 weeks so could it be that? He had jabs Tuesday but it's a bit late to be that surely?!
