Is it wrong that I am weirdly jealous that some of you are ready for the next baby, or going back to work?

I don't want either per say, but I would like the bloody option!

My body is just so fucked from birth still.

And that makes me sad.

BigPigLittlePig · 07/02/2013 19:22

Thanks det you'll get there

horseylady · 07/02/2013 19:23

It doesn't really matter as long as your child is looked after. I was just saying that for me the nursery option was cheaper and worked better for my hours :)

Perhaps I should become a cm! Good money - hard work though and I guess your house is never your own?!

horseylady · 07/02/2013 19:24

:( hugs det. You'll get there.

BigPigLittlePig · 07/02/2013 19:30

I couldn'y understand how the cms house was immaculate. Spotless. Mine looks like a bombs gone off.

TheDetective · 07/02/2013 19:40

Thanks :( Just frustrated tis all :( Doesn't help that I heard today I'm back on labour ward when I return. I'm so fucked. My perineum and pelvic floor won't hack it.

Having to hold pee in - no can do.

Standing for 60-90 minutes in theatre. Nope.

Crouching for a birth. Nope.

Plus other stuff. :(

BPLP My CM's house was tidy due to good storage, and structured activities, with the older children helping to tidy up etc!

gardenpixie32 · 07/02/2013 19:42

We have a separate playroom that is pretty big, it has a small kitchen and toilet facilities. So luckily, the rest of the house is our own. I had to make a real business out of childminding. I left a good teaching job in London so had to make the same, if not more money with my own business. My aim was to be at home with my children and now, I can be! I also do a homework club.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2013 19:52

Thanks Detective that must suck.

Anyone else find it weird typing thanks instead of flowers for the flowers smily? I know it was set up as a thanks emoticon but there are other uses for flowers.

Bedtime getting earlier and earlier. Youtubing with DD1.

Night all.

zcos · 07/02/2013 20:29

thanks stunt I don't drive Wink home now and feel ok its formula or a little milk my other expressed is frozen totally under estimated how much she would want and got carried away with how much I had!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 07/02/2013 20:49

I am thankful that I have lots of support although I threatened to divorce DH for about the millionth time because sometimes his existence just pisses me off. I am thankful for two healthy children, for recovering well from DS's arrival, and that nursery and return to work is all sorted.

On the other hand, before I sound too smug, DS is apparently hell bent on setting some kind of new world record for screaming without interval.

fruitpastilles · 07/02/2013 20:53

Grrrrrrr why are men so fucking stupid and inconsiderate?! Can you believe I had to ask him to watch dd whilst I went to the toilet and he said no because she was crying! He must have saw the look on my face because he quickly changed his mind but the had the cheek to tell me to hurry up, as if its not humiliating enough to have to ask to go like I'm a child, I'm then told to hurry up.
He then went to bed and left me to feed dd and put her to bed despite me having been up all night with her Hmm
Rant over!

fruitpastilles · 07/02/2013 20:54

Ps I'm thankful I have such a lovely daughter considering her dad is such a useless waste of space Smile

Kyzordz · 07/02/2013 21:12

It was ages ago but before I forget, glenda the headaches are lessening now and I don't have a rash I have a whacking great bruise! Also thankyou cacaz ( I know who I mean!)

Am finding it hard entertaining LO all day, how do you all do it? He isn't a miserable baby, but usually more than 5 mins of anything and it's boring. Is this typical? Also, tummy time, is it necessary cos he sucks at it!!

Bet he'll look really cute in tweed horsey!

I get LO dressed every day, mainly to make sure he gets use out of all the clothes he's been bought! He is in 6-9 months now :/ I buy gros and vests and that's all, the rest is knitted/bought by people! I think I might have gotten the odd outfit!

I am thankful for ds, and chocolate, and the fact he sleeps really well at night whilst I eat chocolate and also for family members who are willing to entertain said ds when I've totally ran out of ideas and he starts making unsatisfied noises at me!

TheDetective · 07/02/2013 21:17

Kyzord We are starting to get longer periods of entertaining himself now. Just this week really. The changing mat and his teddy keeps him occupied for up to an hour!!!!! Shock.

His patience for entertaining himself wears thin as the day goes on. So the mornings are pretty good now, when he wakes, if I need time to wake up, put some white noise on, and put him next to me with his teddy, and he is very happy. Then when we make it out of bed, he can spend another hour on his change mat with said teddy.

It gets less after that...lol!

I am queen of chatting shite to him. I figure that just watching what is going on around him classes as entertainment. I am not sure what I do actually Confused but I do talk to him a lot!

TheDetective · 07/02/2013 21:20

I emailed my dad regarding our trip to his. I got an auto reply.

I am out of office... forever.

Rub it in, bastard! Now he is retired, and sunning it up in oz! Btw, I did check with him, and he is keeping his work email, so I knew it was okay to email him on it!

I just got DS a high sleeper. It has taken me over a year to find one, have had his christmas money from the year before last to spend on it! I wanted one that would meet certain requirements as it has to fit in the box room once Oscar explodes out of it! I finally got the right sized one, and got it for £90, reduced from £159. Yay!

StuntNun · 07/02/2013 21:21

Come home. Throw crap all over the place on any available flat surface including the floor. Eat dinner made ready for coming home. Play guitar for a bit. Get incredibly messy toy out for DSs (PlayDoh). Go out leaving DW to tidy up PlayDoh and put DSs to bed.

It must be great being a man. Angry

Sounds about right stunt!

misslaughalot · 07/02/2013 21:24

Night 5 with a screamy babylaughalot and she's asleep after an hour of crying. Really not sure if its colic or reflux, she has symptoms of both. Gave her colic drops before her bedtime feed and she's sleeping on an elevated mattress so hopefully one of those should help to keep her asleep. Might make my first Dr appt for her tomorrow to see what he says. Thanks again for everyone's advice earlier, you're an invaluable bunch.

I am thankful for the Nov 12 mums!

TheDetective · 07/02/2013 21:36

Twatty men strike again! I'm sure we have disproportionate amount of inconsiderate knobbers!

Do I try gripe water/infacol, or put him back to size 2 teats? He is possetting and burping all the time between feeds. Makes no difference how long it has been between feeds. This started 2 days after changing up teats.

He doesn't have pain, and doesn't cry, but it does seem like trapped wind given the burp followed by posset.

GTbaby · 07/02/2013 21:41

I am grateful I won't have to timetable
Child care between 5 adults nxt year. Wink Well you have to find the silver lining in everything right Blush

This will mk you laugh
DH- your mum can have LO while I have the baby.
Me- why? If you have a day off you would have both... Wouldn't you?
DH- yeah but it's hard looking after two at the same time
MeAngry I'm going to do it?
DH - blank face not knowing how to dig himself out of the massive hole.

TheDetective · 07/02/2013 21:43

They are a little, erm, stupid at times! DP has said similar GT! Desperately trying to dig self out of hole... I'm so mean because I just let him keep digigng!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/02/2013 21:47

I did a cockarse stupid thing tonight.

Hot date with DH. Just at a Chinese one stop down the line. DH texted saying he was late to meet him on the train.

When I am buying my ticket there is someone hanging over my shoulder. So I pick the first one at £2.50. I realise then that this is a single. So go through the process again and purchase another single.

In the same direction.

Twat

So I think, DH will moan at me for being a twat.

So I go back and buy a return at £2.90.

So £7.90 for a return journey to the next stop.

I get on the train clutching my ticket and DH says " why did you buy a ticket is only one stop"

Grrrrrr

Great night anyway. Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/02/2013 21:50

detective what high sleeper did you get?

TheDetective · 07/02/2013 21:52

Kidspace Domino one off very.co.uk. Got a £25 off voucher for first time customer, which reduced it from £109.

I needed one that is less than 2m long.

I think it is meant to be wobbly, but our floors are uneven anyway, so whatever we got would wobble a bit. Am just going to prop it up as we do with everything else, which should sort out any wobbles!

Kyzordz · 07/02/2013 21:52

Eric is much better in the morning too Detective, he'll lie under his gym and hit toys long enough for me to get dressed and do a quick tidy round. I talk to him all the time and try to take him out at least once a day even if just for a walk round the block or something. I don't think I've ever tried anything as simple as his changing mat and a teddy! Perhaps I'm over stimulating him? I know I probably shouldn't but the minute he looks less than impressed I do something else, and other than the 20 mins in the morning I am usually playing with him/doing something with him, perhaps I should let him whinge sometimes or entertain himself a bit. I don't know :( I hate leaving him with anyone when he's crying, resulting in me spending the whole day trying to make him happy and then feeling like I can't, especially when his dad gets up from sleeping after a night shift and gets heaps of smiles just by saying hello!! this doesn't piss me off, honest!

Sorry your dp has left you to it like that stunt, nearly twotted mine for casually playing darts earlier whilst I do his pack up for work and then wash bottles! Luckily for him he sensed my hostility heard my very loud sighs and did the bottles.

Hope babylaughalot gets some sleep misslaughalot bless her, sounds like you're both having a rough time of it!

And detective what was your reason for changing up teats again? Sorry I can't remember, have a rubbish memory. Perhaps 3's are still too fast and he's taking in too much air thus the excess wind and then possetting? If you try infacol you need to use if every feed and give it a few days to work iirc
