I've got those on the kitchen cupboards, but these are the internal doors between rooms and on the big cupboards. I don't thnk those would work.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 11/03/2013 11:11

Move stuff around in your cupboards? Breakables and chemicals up high, Tupperware and saucepans down low?

We've had snow flurries since Saturday night. I'm glad we got another oil delivery last week, we thought the warmer weather was on the way so debated about getting a delivery.

Today is day 3 of ds3 being a Velcro baby. I think it's just a heavy cold, but it's really knocked him for six. We've had 2 nights of newborn-like wakings and re-settling and we're knackered. How have we done this for months on end............ three times? Confused

JKSLtd · 11/03/2013 12:59

Yes they did return with flowers :) & and Easter egg we had to share Grin

We have a gate on the kitchen doorway, with some locks on some cupboards within in the kitchen.
Otherwise it's pretty free rein downstairs.
Gate on the stairs, top & bottom, free rein upstairs except for spare room which we keep shut to stop the cats getting in there as MIL is allergic. We just have a simple hook & eye thing screwed into the woodwork/door.

So, a rearrange of what is where and a gate on the kitchen? That way you only have to watch/hover when you decide he can go in there.

The few locks we have on the cupboard doors are hard to describe...can't remember where we got them either! But they are 100% kid-proof and not annoying like those ones you have to half put your hand in to release.

Will google and see what I find.

Lots of semi-blizzard like conditions here! But not settling. yet.

JKSLtd · 11/03/2013 13:02

Found them: here
We don't use them like in the photo though.
Our cupboards have round handles and the loops slide over them. I don't unlock them each time, just slide one loop over a handle then back over again to shut.
Even DS1 can't quite do it at age 6.

Glaikit · 11/03/2013 13:26

I should say, that all my cleaning stuff is safely tucked away from little fingers, he has in the past though opened the powder drawer on the washing machine and scooped the scum out (yuk). Our house has a funny set up. The play room, downstairs loo, dining room and the cupboard containing the washing machine and trouble drier, ironing board etc is in the extension part accessed from the living room, so for him to get to the play room he has access to the cupboard and the loo.

Maybe I'll just get a couple of latches to put high up on the doors. The kitchen is sorted he has one cupboard he can get into that has all the Tupperware on one shelf and baking trays and the like on another. It gets emptied regularly :o

Another few inches of snow here.

fraktion · 11/03/2013 19:19

Loads of snow here!

I've not child proofed at all I'm fairly sure there's stuff under the sink he shouldn't be accessing either but he only goes there for his duster - well trained boy.

Hope F is doing better ubw and your lurgified child too ILTMI

Glad you got a peaceful meal kitty!

Kittycatcat · 11/03/2013 19:28

A fell down the steps outside my dn's. his head looks awful and is still leaking a bit. Didn't go a and e as he hasn't been sick or sleepy.

Kittycatcat · 11/03/2013 19:29

Stoopid phone. S not A!!!

abbyfromoz · 11/03/2013 19:32

Frak- not a bad mum! In fact teaching your lo is very un- lazy imo...

No good to hear that bubba is still unwell ubw... A has had a snotty nose and cough since getting back from aus 3 weeks ago- damn recycled air on planes!
She was a right nightmare today with refusing to get in the buggy- dont think she knows how good she's got it all tucked up snuggly buggly in the buggy while i am freezing my patooty off wheeling her highness around in blizzard conditions Wink
She's in bed now! Goodbye baby tv
HELLO WINE GrinWine

Glaikit · 11/03/2013 19:37

Kitty, I've just seen the photos on fb, poor S. they have hard head heads (as I typed that B has just head butted the back of the sofa).

I've just cleared our path, bloody snow

abbyfromoz · 11/03/2013 19:39

Oh kitty just read this...sorry to hear that's awful Sad

Kittycatcat · 11/03/2013 19:58

Gets better. Tried A with yoghurt again earlier and he's just thrown up

GreenFirefly · 11/03/2013 21:40

Hope S is ok Kitty poor thing.

We have a dusting of snow. Shouldn't it be getting spring-like by now? I'm fed up of being cold. Cycling to work isn't much fun when it's cold, even if it is only 10 minutes. Then when the weather is nicer I'll probably have to stop cycling as bump will be in the way.
I think I felt some movement over the last couple of days :)

JoEW · 12/03/2013 09:40

oh Kitty, I hope you're ok, you are having a dreadful time at the moment. Conor bumps his head about 10 times a day, boys for you. We've not had anything that looks like that though! Sure he will be on the mend soon.

Could you try to get a dietician appointment for A, that might help give you some ideas about what's troubling him. You can get a referral via your GP.

Firefly, I am also cycling to work but was naughty this morning and drove. That biting wind yesterday was just too vile for words. No snow here. Feel very left out!

Our childproofing is also rather slack, even the cupboards that have the child locks can be opened with a good yank, as we are so crap at DIY. I seem to shout "MIND YOU FINGERS" a lot.

GreenFirefly · 12/03/2013 21:54

I cheated today - got a lift with DH - my excuse is we're collecting boxes for the house move, and I can't carry them on bike :)

MrsWajs · 13/03/2013 16:51

Just place marking as you've fallen off my TIO!
Not much to report really still pg and getting huge at an alarming rate - only 15+5 too!!

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 13/03/2013 18:04

Hey All,

Kitty, hope you and S's bump are ok.

You cyclists are nuts amazing. How exciting about wiggles, Firefly!

F is still ill. Just sorry for himself and a streaming nose. No cough or signs of ear infection. I hope he's better tomorrow. Sad

And MrsW, nearly 16 weeks already?! time flies...

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 14/03/2013 19:47

16 weeks. Eeek - exciting times MrsW! I'm jealous though...I wish it was me! I am B.R.O.O.D.Y Grin

Absolutely knackered here at the mo. Nobody in the house is sleeping well at the moment and we're not sure why. I'm longing for a proper lie in.

How's F today UBW? Hope he's a bit better.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 14/03/2013 20:13

Sleep deprivation is horrible, 20th. Hope you get your lie in this weekend.

F is still up & down. Not hot anymore but not right. He's had lots of sleep and daddy snuggles today, perked up for a bit between morning & afternoon nap, but that's it. Sad

JKSLtd · 14/03/2013 21:09

I could do with a list of pg mums on here and how pg you are, is it just me?! Confused Grin

DD was a right handful today I was truly fed up with her by bedtime and tried to get DH (rarely home at bedtime to be fair to her) to put her to bed. There was howling.
:(
so i cuddled her for ages until i knew she was calm, sigh.

She doesn't give me a seconds peace or let me go into another room atm, luckily she still naps after lunch or i'd be going crazy!
Weeing in peace only happens when she's not awake!

I know, I know, this too shall pass....Grin

Kittycatcat · 14/03/2013 21:18

Could also do with that list jks Grin

S was up hourly last night. Lucky A slept thru it. Took s in with me at 530 and he slept til 7. He's been moaning already tonight.

GreenFirefly · 14/03/2013 21:44

Hand up. Pregnant - 17 weeks tomorrow! Saw the midwife today and got top marks for my wee and blood samples Confused. My iron levels are great somehow. Not sure what I've been eating to make it so good (I'm sure cake isn't that iron rich, even if it is chocolate Grin).
I also got to hear baby's heartbeat and she took a look at my scar. She's seen better and told me to make sure the consultant got to see it at my appointment. If I have another c-sec they should be able to tidy it up a bit, and hopefully it'll heal with fewer lumps and bumps. Am thinking I'd like to book c-sec but maybe if I went into labour before I would give VBAC a go.

Kittycatcat · 14/03/2013 21:47

That's fab Grin

GsyPotatoPieEyed · 17/03/2013 14:32
