We have real tears here too Sad

PetiteRaleuse · 03/02/2013 14:24

We had real tears really early with LO, when they were taking blood at one month in hospital. DD1 first cried real tears at about 3 months at her jabs.

BigPigLittlePig · 03/02/2013 14:25

Little pig will not entertain herself. At all. Which is why I am eternally grateful to whoever invented slings.

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 14:32

Oscar is lying on his changing mat. He has been there for an hour. He has a teddy. He alternates between chomping his hands, hugging his teddy, and just plain old wriggling. Of course if this was his play gym, we'd probably have tears after 5 minutes! I think it might over stimulate him?

I am liking this though! It is usually only in the morning we get an hour of contented awake time where he is happy to entertain himself. This is his second hour of content today! Excellent!

Have posted a picture of him on facebook! He is now back to chomping on as many fingers as he can fit in his mouth!

I like playing with him, but I like to do it in short, but frequent bursts. An hour of baby talk is frustrating!

Re: crying, I have done heel pricks on brand new babies who have produced tears. Some do, some don't. Don't worry - it isn't anything you have done!!

GTbaby · 03/02/2013 14:36

Just measured and he is 75th for weight n height. Got to get him in to sport otherwise he will turn into his dad.

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 14:38

GT He is perfect - that is where he should be!

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 14:46

Oscar is 63cm. And 12lb, or 5.47Kg. At 10 weeks.

It is interesting that he is growing at the exact same rate as his brother. Although their weights were on different centiles. Glad I kept a little record in DS1's baby book, as I have forgotton everything so much from when he was little! Even though it does seem like yesterday!

Evilwater · 03/02/2013 14:51

I think I mite be one of those crazy ladies, I'm always taking to my LO in the Super market. I must stop! Also when it's feed time I never know where to look at the BF mums, boobs are everywhere and I'm with a bottle. Then it always leads to "oh a bottle....."

Panpipe lady wins!

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 15:00

Crazy mum here too!

Ah well! I was crazy lady before...!

Evilwater · 03/02/2013 15:06

Taking? It should be talking!

GTbaby · 03/02/2013 15:40

Oh I thought 50% was perfect. Well it doesn't matter. He is perfect to me.
Just a lil annoying as he is into 6-9 earlier then I thought.
He was in 3-6 for one month!

I was going to take his 6-9 clothes to India as new. Now they will be all worn. I know this is silly but i wanted him to have new clothes for his first holiday. But at the rate he is growing will have to take 9-12 as well!

Hmmm should also take teething "stuff" just Incase. What do I need? Teething gel? His Sophie. Anything else?

Evilwater · 03/02/2013 16:34

GT- calpol ( sings in priestly tone: the wonders of calpol!) different types of bonjela, teething crystals, and different teething rings.

I found bonjela on a dummy works very well to get the Jell in the mouth but calpol (the wonders of calpol) is better.

DS has gone about 5hrs between feeds and I guess 2.5 of those were asleep!! Confused Post growth spurt sleep stage??!!!

DD is much better too, and slept for about 3hrs this afternoon.

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 17:16

Confused Maybe mine is in post growth spurt chill out zone?!

He's back on the mat after a nap. Chilled and happy. With his teddy and blanket.

Weird.

Should I have done this 10 weeks ago?! Grin

GTbaby · 03/02/2013 17:19

Evil does a Dr have to give u crystals?
Better stock up on those.

Also Q - LO sucks left thumb. Does this mean he is a lefty?

Evilwater · 03/02/2013 17:22

GT - no. In fact I found them a waste of time.

PurplePidjin · 03/02/2013 17:47

I'm a crazy lady too. R in sling, under my coat, bunny hat on, running commentary "Shall we have some nice lamb or a bit of chicken for tea? Daddy will like that, won't he. Yes, yes he will. Who's a little cutey then?" blah blah blah Blush i have heard many people walk past me and comment that they thought i had a teddy. Erm, yeah, coz that's likely Hmm

Catbag · 03/02/2013 18:02

Ladies, we have it into the 'most active' up at the top right there!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 03/02/2013 18:02

I'm another who chit-chats incessantly to DS. Have actually been praised for it, by an older lady, in a supermarket. She commented how nice it was to hear someone talking to their baby, and how important it was, and how sad it made her when babies were not spoken to.

DS has slept all bloody day. We started the day at 5am - DS woke and wouldnt be settled, but wasnt actually crying, and DH amazingly heard him and took him downstairs, only for DD to wake up and be very unhappy with the choice of parent left to deal with her. Then today, bar two 30 minute windows of kicking on the mat, DS has slept. Am really hoping this is growth spurt consequences, otherwise I am in for a properly shit night, to go with the very early start to the day.

Catbag · 03/02/2013 18:02

have MADE*

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 18:04

Okay, I just know I'm going to be in for a shocker of a night.

3 episodes of self entertainment, and self settling for naps. I almost feel redundant! All he has to do now is feed himself and change his nappies!

I think I should have an early night. Just incase. .

Anyone else have this foreboding feeling when they suddenly do nice things like this??!

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 18:12

Hahaha madam cross posting there!

Talking to them about everything and anything is good parenting, so I don't get too worried!

I didn't know all this when DS1 was little, and he was a later talker. I don't want that for Oscar, so I babble away!

ValiumQueen · 03/02/2013 18:27

PP people in my village thought I was pushing my pram just to carry my shopping bags. They did not realise there was a baby in the Coccoon. Idiots.

After a shit night I have had a shit day. Does that mean I will have another shit night? By shit I mean no sleep.

ValiumQueen · 03/02/2013 18:28

I have, however, found Downton Abbey on Net Flix. Not quite Dexter...

ValiumQueen · 03/02/2013 18:29

We have been in most active a few times cat
