though not the dh who forgets to put it back in fridge thus killing all the lovely enzymes. good job it's expensive he won't do it again

Clarella · 03/02/2013 09:48

omg garden!!

I cannot believe gp. nor hv have worked out he needed it from my descriptions plus the burn like sores on his bottom. combo of LLL advisors and nct bf lady headline and friend who's friends life was changed for ever with it!

PurplePidjin · 03/02/2013 09:52

Kirrin R did that for the first couple of weeks, then i gave up and he sleeps on his front. Apparently the need fewer layers due to the risk of over heating; vest, babygrow, 2.5 tog sleeping bag works here :) that's in his crib, would probably be less if cosleeping

BigPigLittlePig · 03/02/2013 10:05

So I sacked off the dreamfeed a few days ago, mainly because there was nothing dream like about it, and it didn't seem to make any difference to when she was waking up. And last night she went from 9.30 til FOUR, FOUR AM PEOPLE. Sorry for shouty nature of that but this is a baby who has had some serious sleep avoidance issues!

GT our hv thought LO would be long, as dh and me are also quite tall, however she was on the 9th % last time they measured her Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 03/02/2013 10:08

This thread is getting easier to catch up on.

Right, now have slept on it and have woken up remembering all kinds of other weird emotions actions or statements from the last few weeks since I started taking cerazette.

Never. Again.

gardenpixie32 · 03/02/2013 10:17

Clarella nag GP for prescription, will save you a fortune!

BPLP - great news! I bet you were very chuffed with her. I have also dropped the dream feed. I used to feed them both at 10:30/11pm and DT2 would keep waking up at 4am for milk. Most times she would wake her sister so I would have to feed both. Now, I put them to sleep at 6:45 and they go through until 4am. Much better than waiting up to do dream feed that does not work! Well done Little Piglet!

fruitpastilles · 03/02/2013 10:24

We had real tears for the first time last night, heartbreaking Hmm

misslaughalot · 03/02/2013 11:03

fruit we had real tears too this week also Sad

fruitpastilles · 03/02/2013 11:09

It's horrible isn't it. Might not have been so bad if it wasn't stupid 'd'p (d is for dickhead) that made her cry by scaring her half to death shoutin at the telly in a mood because of the stupid football!

PurplePidjin · 03/02/2013 11:32

Congratulations Piglet!

R is 1st centile for weight. Just measured him and he's 61cm - that's 90somethingth! Looks like two shortarse parents made a stringbean Hmm

ShellyBobbs · 03/02/2013 11:35

And for the whole of today my left bust will double as a dummy!

ChunkyChicken · 03/02/2013 11:40

Excellent littlepig :)

I was surprised when DS was crying having woken up hungry just after we'd got in the house, that he cried real tears too. Think it may been the 2-3wk growth spurt because it was far, far earlier than I expected/ thought they could actually produce tears, but it may have been 6wks.

kirrinIsland · 03/02/2013 12:13

Brilliant BPLP - that must feel great!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm reluctant to put her on her front - mostly because this is a new thing so I know she can sleep on her back. She was doing 4 hour stints, and once managed a whole 6 hours! But I haven't tried the muslin - that's a good idea, will do that tonight. I tried a dummy again last night, even though I know she won't take it and ended up throwing it across the room in frustration
catbag she will not go down in the day, never has. Frustrating isn't it? She has twice crashed out for an hour or so in her pram but mostly she just sleeps in 15 minute bursts and wakes as soon as I even think about putting her down.

Biscuit I tried my spectra 3 pump this morning and it's good. Didn't get any more than with the manual one, but it was definitely quicker and easier.

ValiumQueen · 03/02/2013 12:14

NHS24 were very apologetic. I said to them that I had sorted it as I would not leave a child ill for 7 hours waiting for them to advise. I said she was tucked up in bed (2yo, 10pm) and did not want to wake her to examine her for them.

J woke hourly until 7, then slept until 11. Thankfully DH got the girls up.

I think this thing has gone on my chest. Not getting any sleep is not helping me recover.

FatimaLovesBread · 03/02/2013 12:21

M went to sleep at 9pm and slept til half 2! Yay! I kept waking thinking surely she should wake by now. My bobs were huge though with the lack of cluster feed. She's fed loads this morning though.

All this growing babies! M seems a midget in comparison, I'm having to go buy some more 0-3 from next because at 10 weeks her 0-3 mothercare are still huge. She's just above 50th for weight and 50th for height so not small.

Tomorrow we start a newborn course that the HV signed me up to. They say to take a small bottle of sunflower oil, can I take my olive oil that I got from boots for her skin?

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 13:15

I was very nearly an ungrateful stroppy bitch this morning. Til my actual brain kicked in!

Went to bed at 1030 after doing last feed, and slept til 11.15 this morning! That's me. Not Oscar. Oh no, he fed at 4, 8.30, then up for the day at 1030! DP did the night feeds and while I did wake, I was straight back to sleep! My poor bladder didn't know what the hell was going on this morning! How am I more tired than when I had 2 hours sleep on Thursday night? How!!

Anyway, when DP woke me up, he said I better hurry and get up because he was running a bath, and was going out to get food then going to his mums. My immediate feeling was utter rage! That he could swan the fuck off for a bath and go to his mums and just expect me to have Oscar. The I got a grip and remembered he'd just done the night feeds and got up with him. Grin

Good job my mouth was too dry to open and start hen pecking the poor bugger!

Am still slightly Envy that he can just go out for a few hours without assuming he is taking Oscar.

Also, I had said we should take DS1 out today. He seems to have forgotten this.

Looks like another Sunday of doing nothing...!

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 13:34

QQ: For those whose babies are awake all day, do they need constant entertainment/stimulation? How long are they happy to just lie/sit/play contentedly?

PurplePidjin · 03/02/2013 13:41

Next are also huge, Tesco are just right for us atm :)

Det about 2 minutes Hmm

gardenpixie32 · 03/02/2013 13:49

Not awake all day, they have a morning sleep and a big sleep in the afternoon but when awake...DT1 about 20 minutes at a time. DT2...30 seconds, she likes to be entertained.

Evilwater · 03/02/2013 13:51

News flash!!!
DP actually fed and changed and dressed N for two morning in a row! OMG!!!
Grin

N is still teething, still I wish the teeth would hurry up and arrive, my poor boy all this pain and still no teeth. [Sad]
N wanted to have a look at my tea, so I let him, then he placed his mouth on the cup as to drink out of it Shock Grin. He was upset when I told him he couldn't have any. Bless. Grin

Detective- I try and get N to have naps, because if he had his way he would be up all day and then is evil when it comes to bed time.

To all those that are having a tough time Wine Thanks
Evil

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 13:59

Pidj Mum of a skinny beanpole here also! Oscar born on 2nd centile for weight, 98th for height. Is now 25th for weight, still 98th for height.

Am going to measure him again today, lanky legs!

One day I may have a child who fits in clothes properly. So far, detective 0, clothes retailers 2. Damn it!

DS1 although was on 75th for weight still manages to be a skinny beanpole. IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 03/02/2013 14:03

Gosh, we've had real tears for a while here. I must be a really bad mummy!

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 14:13

Oscar when awake seems to like entertaining a lot! It varies, if he has woken in a good mood from a nap he can entertain himself with bog all for an hour. Other most times you have to spend the hour like naked panpipe elf (if you don't know what I mean, go and read this thread!!) coming up with more and more elaborate faces to pull, noises to make, etc etc. Grin

I'd be in the looneybin if I had to do that all day long!!

TheDetective · 03/02/2013 14:14

DS1 had real tears from a teeny tiny age, DS2, not yet.

He does however get a shit load of sleep every time he naps. It is a constant battle to clean it away!

PetiteRaleuse · 03/02/2013 14:22

When LOis awake and not feeding she alternates between being happy justlying and kicking around on her mat for ages at a time. The rest of the time she sits propped on a cushion or in her chair and chats. I think that when she talks she'll never stop. Always burbling and gurgling and giggling. When she stops I answer back and she loves it.
