Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Elizadoesdolittle · 02/02/2013 22:39

I bf in public. Was a lot more conscious and also I guess inexperienced with DD1 so didn't deviate from doing it in "safe" bf places, although I never hid in a loo! But with E refusing the bottle I've got used to bf wherever I may be and so far I haven't received any comments and like to think if I received any negative remarks I'd give them a piece of my mind. I wear the breastvest which has been a god send for me. Must get another one. It does annoy me being limited to what I can wear. I like jumper dresses but they are completely impractical. I'm going to treat myself to a couple of new nursing bras. I'm still wearing 2 I had from DD1, time for them to be binned i think!

I used to be able to knit many moons a go. I wish I could still remember how Hmm perhaps it's just like riding a bike and I need to get back on it!

PetiteRaleuse · 02/02/2013 22:41

Oh. Sorry. You might not find my posts very reassuring then. BUT. I just woke DH up to apologise and explain, and he said oh I thought you announcing you wanted to die because I said I wasn't hungry so just do dinner for you and dd1 was familiar. (Yes, I did, and yes, two minutes later I felt like a twat, and no, I don't want to die, and no I've never suffered from depression except...)

I have come off the pill twice since we have known each other. In fact LO arrived far earlier than we planned because of my worrying behaviour when on the pill after DD1. It was the patch actually. And well before DD1 was planned I came off it too, due also to erratic moods. And that was a different one again.

So it could be just me with the hormones. You might have a lovely time with it Tits

My insomnia also started about a week into the pill. It all becomes clear...

Titsalinabumsquash · 02/02/2013 22:46

Oh you poor thing, I hope it shifts from your system soon and you start feeling back to normal. :)

I wouldn't be using it if I had a choice tbh, I had the marina coil before and it failed and got embedded in my womb leaving infections and all sorts of problems, unfortunately without some sort of hormone treatment (or being pregnant) I am in constant agony from endometriosis and I'm not remaining constantly pregnant just to stop it! (Although DP would go for it Shock) if I start struggling with weight or if I don't stop having moodswings all over the place I'll have to rethink. (I cried this morning because 'nobody loved me' Blush)

PetiteRaleuse · 02/02/2013 22:52

Yes I know several people with endometriosis and they all take the pill. I never had a problem With microgynon which is the first one I took many years ago.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/02/2013 22:55

Have you tried the Evra patch? My ob gyn put me on it adter DD1. Didn't suit me (see above) but is a nicer way of taking the stuff.

You have my sympathy though. Endometriosis is a bugger.

StuntNun · 02/02/2013 23:03

Tits I tried the breastmilk to treat J's eye when he got conjunctivitis and it did clear it temporarily but it took chloramphenicol eyedrops to completely shift it. My DS2 had a blocked tear duct until he was 18 months old and he used to get conjunctivitis every month or so until the tear duct unblocked itself the week before he was to have it operated on to clear it.

I asked DH about it Pass and he agrees that J is the easiest baby of the three so far so I think it's a combination of stress and bad habits. I have been gently 'interfering' so asking him to stop the name calling and swearing, pulling him up on his treatment of the older children. It's so hard with DS1 having SN but also DS1 sets a bad example for DS2. I think if it was the second child with SN then it would be easier. DS2 has started stimming behaviour at night even though he doesn't have any sensory issues at all, he's just copying DS1.

Love the tent Shelly you got a real bargain. Am a bit Envy of you!

Garden I'm off to Punjab. North east India.

Insert in car seat came out at 6 weeks. Carry cot haven't used since Xmas. N I might stretch use of crib until end of the month.
However he has now moved into 6-9 clothes!

Oh oh LO is wingeing. Hmm

BigPigLittlePig · 02/02/2013 23:30

I feel a bit Blush now about going off to the loos to feed her! It wasn't the most bf friendly place - right by the door, in a busy glass fronted cafe on the high street, and LO was screaming so attracting oodles of attention. It just seemed like the easiest thing to do, although tbh I thought they would have a baby changing room (they didn't). I think I need to practice in front of the mirror!

I forget whose baby has a gammy eye, LO had an absolutely revolting eye when she was 5 weeks old. I'm afraid to say we went down the route of drops although owing to enthusiastic let-down she had had an eyeful or 2 or 3 of milk - worked a treat.

GT 6-9 month clothes!? Shock I think I must have a midget baby...!

ChunkyChicken · 02/02/2013 23:31

I have a different car seat but took the newborn cushion out a couple of wks back when I realised he was looking all squashed. The head rest bit has also gone up a setting too. But then, DS is, at 11wo, the same size as DD was at 26+wo!!

Decided not to do the dream feed, too knackered! He hasn't even gone 3hrs yet & I'm not staying up for that.

DD v poorly :( She's been coughing more now, just hope its laying down & snot, rather than anything more sinister.

DH being nicer. Not stopped with hockey but at least listening to me. Think some of my anger & hurt over hockey etc is because I've felt less 'special' to him after DS compared to DD. He was really good with both of us after DD came along. Think, ironically, my easier birth made it harder for us to adjust afterwards in some ways. DH thought because I was physically well, I must be coping iyswim. I'm kind of forcing myself to make more intimate gestures to DH. Forcing, not because I don't want to, but because have got out of the habit as it were.

Just sat bra-less for a min or 2. I start leaking!! Shock Thought that sort of thing was meant to be settling down by now at 11+4. Happy for the good supply etc but fed up of worrying about wet patches.

Now DS is 13lb 6oz, 0-3 is def snug in the body, in some brands, too short too, but all except Next size 3-6, are way too long. I think he will have doubled his birth weight by 3mths, but he is not v long!!

PR I go mental on any type of pill. Never tried patches, injection or implant for that reason. I would stab someone as soon as look at them on the combined pill!!

Jabs on Monday. Not sure what tomorrow holds with a poorly DD. Night all, sweet dreams & lots of sleep for all.

BigPigLittlePig · 02/02/2013 23:34

Oh yes, and I too have the joys of cerezette, the packet is lurking on the kitchen side although I have yet to take any. It makes me feel a bit sort of dead/emotionless on the inside, it's not nice. I didn't have any periods on it though. When I;ve stopped bf I'll go back on the combined pill, it seems the best for me if you ignore the hideous pmt

I was thinking though, if I started cerezette now, and didn't switch to anything else, then theoretically the next period I had would be after stopping the pill to try for dc2

glendathegoodwitch · 02/02/2013 23:56

bp I bf in public but always choose quiet cafes/restaurants and have got used to saying "no can we have that table way back there pls?" lol I've never had any negativity but don't go out that often for that long and luckily Dottie prefers to sleep when out than when in

pidj what a lovely selfless thing to do - wish was crafty enough to help - think i have some balls of wool in a drawer from when I got it into my head to learn to knit

vq what is it with girls smothering themselves with slippery stuff? Dd1 used a whole tub of body shop strawberry butter on herself a few years ago - she smelt for weeks

stunt it is hard having a dh whose patience is easily tried - it's the same here after he's been in from work for 15 mins and he's telling her no stop winging - try having it for 8 hours then you can moan! Dots still has a gunky left eye -the right cleared up a month on its own but right is still yellow, watery and. Rusty in the morning -tried eye drop so now sure it's just a blocked tear duct that will correct itself!!!

Dottie has gone from 1 poo every 3/4 days to 4 watery ones a day and they've made her bum sore so's lathering her in bepanthen and letting it air when possible - is it normal or has she got a runny tum??? Alright in herself!!!

Had a busy day today being fattened up with my nans home baking, catching up with my lil brother and then an evening round my best mates - whose 3 yr old twin boys are bonkers and did ot stop the whole time we were there -they wore me out just watching them!!!

Right time for transfer and hopefully a good sleep before spending the day with my daddy lol

Night night -hope you all have good nights xx

GTbaby · 03/02/2013 00:20

Finish series one of dexter. Not sure if I should continue watching this. I scare easily. Lol

Big pig he is just massive. On 75th for weight. N is tall. Ill get measuring tape out tomorrow. His dad is also a giant at 6"3 and I'm 5"8. So he has tall jeans. I mean genes don't I? Lol

Ran out of aptimil today. Store has only cow n gate. The boxes r identical! Apart from label n colour. Wonder how its different n why the company market as two brands?
Hope CnG suit his tummy.

Getting a lil nervous about moving him to his room Blush
I mean he self settles has always slept in crib. I have left him quite a few times. So I'm not one of those Velcro mums. But still nervous. Lol

ValiumQueen · 03/02/2013 01:51

I wish this baby would sleep. I am beginning to think he might be broke. I know I sure as hell am. I guess he is still getting over his germ. No temp which is a blessing.

NHS24 called back at 10pm. She was obviously asleep and fine. I would not have waited 7 fucking hours for them to call back if I was worried now would I?

Please Lord can I have some sleep tonight?

Catbag · 03/02/2013 03:42

7 hours? Did they give you any explanation for the delay?

ChunkyChicken · 03/02/2013 04:43

Ok so its a 4am feed, but it was 7.5hrs after the last one... If I hadn't been too bloody knackered for a dream feed, he might have slept through!!! I'm cautiously optimistic we might be out of the 12wk growth spurt.

Is grateful that DD woke at the same time as DS so DH dealt with her & it wasn't a tag team affair with me getting no sleep!! VQ you have my sympathy.

GTbaby · 03/02/2013 04:45

Ek. This is not lasting all night Hmm he wants his first feed earlier and earlier.

VQ. I think that's rubbish. Never used that NHS service before. Is it worth making emergency appointment with dr? Or are they closed over weekend?

Dixiebell · 03/02/2013 05:14

Anyone need a reliable alarm clock to wake them, without fail, at 2am and 5am every day? I have one for sale. Just requires topping up with milk every few hours...

kirrinIsland · 03/02/2013 05:32

Ok, those of you who have done the 12 week growth spurt.......
Is that what's happening here? This is the second night she's finally settled at 3. She will sleep on me but wakes up almost immediately I put here down - proper 'newborn' reaction though - scrabbling frantically at her face, legs kicking, body rigid. When I pick her up she relaxes instantly and is asleep again in seconds. Anything I can do??

Fingers crossed you got some sleep VQ and that the growth spurt is over for you chunky

Catbag · 03/02/2013 07:44

I don't know kirren, but if you find out, be a love and share the knowledge. Five days out of seven or thereabouts I find myself hallucinating black scuttly things in the periphery of my vision. Not enjoying that so much Hmm

kirrinIsland · 03/02/2013 08:18

:( catbag I remain clueless I'm afraid. Very frustrating to be going backwards. Is it a new thing for yours or have they always done it?

ChunkyChicken · 03/02/2013 08:43

kirrin DS slept ok I put that down to genetic laziness inherited from his father Grin but was just waking more frequently for feeds & feeding 2hrly during the day. He did have 2 episodes of screaming blue murder on waking- I think due to not knowing where he was, as he stopped immediately I picked him up.

Will be trying the sleeping bag tonight. DS fed really well at 4am, no fussing & messing about, but still woke at 6.25. I wasn't going to feed him as he can go longer than that, yet although he refused the dummy, he didn't stir me again until 7.45. Both times he had kicked his covers off. He wasn't even desperate for a feed until just now. Think he's waking cold not hungry so the sleeping bag is worth a try!!

ChunkyChicken · 03/02/2013 08:45

Have you tried putting her down on her side kirrin or with a muslin that you've had on you by her face? Or what about a hot water bottle in her bed?

Catbag · 03/02/2013 09:20

Yea kirren, they've always done it. I'm co-sleeping with them at night so I don't really bother trying then. They don't sleep in the day, no matter what I try. I've tried propping them upin the basket, swaddling, muslin in the basket, heatable 'Hootie' infused with lavender in the basket, leaving them for a couple of minutes at a time to self-settle, nothing works. To be honest, even when they fall asleep on the cushion after feeding they will only sleep for 10-15 minutes. I think they just aren't sleepy babies. Grr.

Clarella · 03/02/2013 09:41

I HEART COLIEF!!!!!!!!!

gardenpixie32 · 03/02/2013 09:44

Me too Clarella. Our nice GP gives us 10 bottles at a time on prescription. We currently have 170 pounds worth of the stuff in the kitchen!
