Glue?

MissMummy1 · 23/01/2013 22:21

Okay wow! Tried and failed to catch up. Willies to religion - you craaaazy bunch!!

Had a busy few days. Spent some lovely time with yw and J - M is quite taken with him!

Picked up M&P starlite swing. So far worth EVERY penny - M is transfixed by the lights. She's never amused herself for so long (okay, 20 mins but enough to let us eat dinner in peace!)

In other news my boiler is on the blink. Needing to top it up or reset it 3/4 times a day now Confused . So stuck in all day tomorrow waiting for gas man. Probs have to miss yoga - bugger! And I have a sinking feeling it needs replaced - bugger bugger bugger! I can't live without heating and hot water in the meantime if it gets condemned!!!Sad

kissyfur · 23/01/2013 22:24

Well I'm glad we're not the only ones!

Aww pass that's so sweet, I had a chat with my LO this eve before the bath and her screaming session! She does this little raise of her eyebrows when she coos that is just so cute Smile

Passmethecrisps · 23/01/2013 22:26

VQ I never do tiger in a tree. DH sometimes does. Might be on to something there.

I have always greeted and awake P with "hello eyeballs". No idea why. Quite odd really.

Evilwater · 23/01/2013 22:31

Nite all, I think I might have caught a bug. Damn cold wind!

TheDetective · 23/01/2013 22:39

16 kids... I'd need shooting. Anyone watching?!

Although I did put through a benefit checker what we would get if we had 10 kids (it wouldn't let me put any more in!). The answer is VERY tempting Grin its double my salary!!! And no tax!!

I'm not that mental though. Thank fuck. Grin

horseylady · 23/01/2013 22:44

Ah pass - that's how I ended up buying a bumbo!! God send!!

Now of course all he wants to do is stand.....

He was chewing my fingers tonight. Proper chewing. Glad he's not got teeth!!

horseylady · 23/01/2013 22:45

Btw hello eyeballs??!! Do you not just say hello?!

Bryzoan · 23/01/2013 22:50

Blimey I can't keep up with you lot! Every time I think about posting another billon things seen to happen on here and I can never remember what I wanted to say. Loved all your smutty name changes.

vq it was me with the crap p'n't. I wonder if yours was the same one? Mine was pick up in Southampton. Didn't check it properly as had g in the car screaming and wanted to get him home. Think I have probably washed it too many times to kick up a stink now and am too wet to pick a fight. Last time I make that mistake.

Babyswimming - with dd1 I always left her on her travel changing mat on the floor while I changed. I Change her into swimwear after me and out of before to keep her warm. I leave a towel by the pool to warm her as soon as we are out, then have another to dry her with which I use after. I hold her with one hand and faff with bags/ the locker with the other. It is not tricky at all once you get used to it.
Haven't taken g yet because of his hip harness which we can't yet take off. But in just over a week we can take it off for an hour a day and then it builds from there ... Can't wait for baths and swimming and normal cuddles! He loved the bath before the harness - wonder if he still will?

Pass my sister always used to try and take dd1 where she couldn't
see me if she was crying when dsis was holding her. She meant well but it drove me mad.

pr so sorry to hear about you fall. Sounds horrid.

That duck song is back in my head after a long absence... Thanks pr, det and all...

Wishing you all and your little ones long, blissful sleeps. G had his first jabs today and isn't happy. Have tried explaining they are meant to make him sleepy but to no avail.

GTbaby · 23/01/2013 23:03

Re swimming. How do u get you n LO into pool?

Also when filling petrol do u take LO into garage to pay? Or leave in car?

TheDetective · 23/01/2013 23:22

Got any glue?

I haven't filled my car yet GT as I haven't needed to in 8 weeks Shock. I'm not driving much, well not til this week when I've been doing all the school runs as DP's car is in the garage don't get me ranting on how fucking long they have had it.... But I will either use pay at pump, or leave in the car. I know most people think you are a shit parent for leaving them in the car, but unless there is a queue of more than 3 people, you will be in and out in 2 minutes. I'm clumsy with the car seat. It is a royal pain in the ass getting my car seat in and out. I just don't see the fuss to be honest Blush. I never took DS1 in, as he was 2, and toddlers and garage forecourts - no thanks! I must admit, I don't think I filled up much when he was with me. I don't imagine I'll have to fill up much when I have Oscar and am alone. Shouldn't be too much of an issue if I am organised and fill up at the right time!.

Bry Ooooh, bet you can't wait to get the time without the harness on! I'm sure he will still love a bath!

We have screams after baths, but as I do them at bed time if I am doing them, I assume that is why - because he wants a feed.

I had Oscar stood on my legs earlier. I had my hands under his arms. The little monkey was supporting his whole body weight for about 1 second each time. He would hold himself firm, then drop in to my hands, then lift up and hold firm again. I was Shock at his strength! He's mastered holding his head up definitely now. He's been practicing it for a while, but the last couple of days he has been holding it up for ages. He likes to sit up like a grown up on the sofa in the crook of my arm! Definitely getting him a bumbo, he will love it. Only problem is, he wants to be at adult height. They should do bumbo highchairs!

He no longer seems like a newborn. :( It goes so fast!!!

TheTiger · 23/01/2013 23:28

Ive never heard of flylady before, just been looking and i think i could manage that! I do like a shiny sink!

GT thank you for your advice. I always wait til he looks/acts hungry to feed so tomorrow i will offer 3 hourly and see what happens. And when i put petrol in i use pay at pump!

horsey we do puddleducks too! Its so sweet isnt it. His favourite thing is 'baby on the float'. We arent allowed to bring prams or carseats in, but its a hotel pool maybe thats why? Theres nowhere to leave them except side of pool anyway.

nervous where i take DS swimming they have to wear a swim nappy with a neoprene over nappy on top. Think different places have different rules though.

Ok, feed done and he is fast asleep. Please send us lots of long sleep vibes. Wishing you all nights of at least 6 hours sleep!!

ChunkyChicken · 23/01/2013 23:39

Was a bit tearful at 16kids detective as it looks like we're stopping at 2 and I'll never get to meet my baby for the first time again. But not :( enough to have any more and certainly not 16. That's madness!!

DS was v awake - he's got a cold I think, so snotty. In for a long night I guess...

GT I've always locked my dc in the car like my valuables. I didn't know that was a bad thing. There is no way I'm faffing about with the car seat, lugging it & DD into the shop, then back out when I can be in & out in 2mins, the car is in sight the whole time & on camera too. Ok, its not ideal, but I can't see how it harms them...

DS was just sat looking at DH's book like he's reading it, in the crook of DH's arm, then when I look at him & get my boob out ready for a feed, he looks over and ever so casually spits his dummy out. It was such perfect comedy timing.Grin

ChunkyChicken · 23/01/2013 23:41

Oh and I fancy a glass of lemonade - do you think the store sells it? :)

StuntNun · 23/01/2013 23:51

Speaking of swimming I bought a cool [http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Grey-Shark-Shape-Baby-Child-Infant-Inflatable-Swimming-Seat-Float-Ring-/271034425432?pt=UK_Swimming_Pools_Hot_Tubs&hash=item3f1ae92058[ shark swim seat]] for J.

Bam bam bam bam bam-a-bam.

Sorry about your house sale Eliza that sucks.

I can honestly say it has never occurred to me to take the DCs in with me when paying for petrol. I do try ANC stick to garages where I know I can see the car whilst paying though, but to be fair, that is most of them.

Goodnight all. Hope you all get some plenty of sleep.

GTbaby · 24/01/2013 01:53

Oh has taken my gorgeous Baby n replaced with a screaming monster. I was asleep! Me asleep before 1am! Unheard of. HmmWell I was asleep.

Tbh I left LO in car. As I walked bk to the car i wondered if I should have done this. So told DH that he is in charge of ensuring car is always full. But wondered what is the norm.

Still no answer on how u get in n out if pool with LO tho? I would assume u don't step down ladder holding them. But imagin putting them on side getting in n getting then once in to b u safe. I mean ATM they stay still. What about when they roll around? Or does someone else hold them for u? Confused. (Not hard at almost 2am tho).

NotSoNervous · 24/01/2013 01:59

First feed here, we haven't been up at this tie for a couple of weeks now, it seemed like we were getting in the routine of 4:10am then 7:00am but not tonight Sad

With petrol, I've had to djo it once, the garage was empty and I didn't go into pay I went to the outside whole in the wall, so I was less then 10 feet away for about 30 secs

Oh okay tiger Ill give them a call, thanks

Seems like DD wanted a snack not a few feed, attempting transfer ....

NotSoNervous · 24/01/2013 02:01

GT my local pool has like a beach walk into it, so starts shallow and gets deep the more you walk and the other pool has large stairs

GTbaby · 24/01/2013 02:07

Someone up thread mentioned me not enforcing the two post limit.
However due to sub clause 1.5 posting can extend two post per 24 hours if the post is beneficial to the MNer mental health I feel unable to enforce the rule ATM

How about a 24 posting ban? I'm actually serious about this! All regular nov 12 mums are banned from posting for 24 hours. Lurkers will b free to post. Allowing ppl to catch up.

Posters can then report back on how they used the extra hours saved from one days posting / reading! Baking cakes n cookies, sewing a dress, cooking a three course meal, shining sink.

Clarella · 24/01/2013 02:19

someone pleeeeeeeease tell me feeding every hour at six and a bit weeks since 4pm til now and still going is normal and will stop soon????? I need some fucking sleep

Clarella · 24/01/2013 02:22

at point where formula looks attractive cos they last longer? though I think it's me he wants.

though I don't think he's been keen on a bottle tonight. wish dh would bloody write it down for me when he does his stint.

6 week check tomorrow and I can now drive but don't think I'll be safe to at this rate!!!!!!

this child used to go 4 hours between feeds wtf happened?????
