Clarella · 24/01/2013 02:53

still - 'reflux' issues seem resolved, perhaps he was stretching his stomach capacity. at least the lbs are coming off me into him Grin

rowingdowntheriver · 24/01/2013 03:30

I love your random posts gt! Am slightly scared at the thought of not being able to post / having anything on this thread to read for 24 hours thoug. I'd get loads done though.

Am still to catch up on thread but thought I'd just jump straight in and share my news - we've sold our house! Details have not been printed and its not even on the Internet yet! We only signed up with an estate agent last week! It is all happening very fast. We had an offer yesterday and when we turned it down they immediately increased their offer then increased it again to almost the asking price. We've got 2 other couples v interested so if they don't offer tomorrow, we're going to accept this one.

Just need to find a house to move too. Also need to get my head round the fact that we are moving, I love my house, it's just getting a bit small for us now, also love my neighbours, my town and my friends here. Don't want to move away from the area really but even just a slightly bigger house here will cost nearly double the price of ours Confused

GTbaby · 24/01/2013 03:30
Confused
rowingdowntheriver · 24/01/2013 03:34

Oh and gt, we climb down the ladder holding the baby here, haven't seen anyone else do otherwise

CandyPop · 24/01/2013 03:39

:) gt

(This does not count as a post btw Wink )

NotSoNervous · 24/01/2013 04:14

Feed number 2 and only two hours later, LO poo'd aswell for need to do a nappy change

BigPigLittlePig · 24/01/2013 04:27

Bad night.
Finally settled little pig after 2 hours of inconsolable screaming, she's got swollen puffy eyes from all the tears Sad
Prior to that she'd fed at 11, 12.30, 2... Sad Sad

Going to catch up on thread now as too scared to move for fear of waking her.

PurplePidjin · 24/01/2013 05:01

My 6 hour sleeper has been replaced with an hourly waker Sad bloody jabs!!

StuntNun · 24/01/2013 05:09

Lost my last post so will be necessarily brief:

Congratulations Rowing.

Yes growth spurt Clarella it will last for a couple of days. Ff won't definitely increase the space between feeds so don't start it for that reason alone.

Climb down ladder GT or our local baby pool has steps and a slide and a water feature.

J went just over four hours! From 11:30 to 3:50. Course then he only went an hour until his next feed. Grr. I feels terrible though: feverish, sore throat, sore boob and nipple, and I started bleeding again. Shock I thought it was a period at first but then I realised it's less than two weeks since the last one. I don't have any abdominal pain and there isn't a lot so I'm not sure what that is. It's a bit late at ten weeks tomorrow to be bleeding. I have to take DS2 to a hospital appointment tomorrow but I don't know whether I should go if I'm not well. If it's mastitis then I wouldn't be infectious to anyone else would I?

OP posts:
rowingdowntheriver · 24/01/2013 05:17

Ah, sorry eliza, hope you get new buyers soon. What massive time wasters your last ones were.

That's tough bplp. Hope you are sleeping now.

stunt, you poor thing. Not sure whether mastitis is infectious or not. Either way you should probably still get yourself to the dr.

IMy period still hasn't come back yay and I'm at 13 weeks now.

ValiumQueen · 24/01/2013 06:09

Mastitis is not infectious x

PetiteRaleuse · 24/01/2013 06:19

Morning. I've been awake since 4 my time. Couldn't sleep so just lay there until it was time to get up. Now I'm up I'm feeling sleepy.

glendathegoodwitch · 24/01/2013 06:21

Morning!!

I'm going to wait til the weather warms up for swimming as both pools in the area have freezing cold changing rooms - might take her when on holiday in Cornwall in march!!

How funny - I've been stressing over leaving d in the car to pay for petrol and always try to have at least dd1 in the car with her if someone stole the car with her in they'd be back quick as a flash cos she doesn't shut up!!!

Speaking of dd1 we went to her parents eve last night and the little sod told her teacher who thankfully loves dd1 & her wild imagination that it was me that cut her fringe an inch long!!!!! Cheeky mare!!!!!

Fly lady - have signed up but don't think a shiny sink will calm my stress levels when everywhere is a shit hole!! Was planning on talking to dh last night about stuff but he came in helped with dinner, Dottie and ran me a bath ?? hmmmmm wonder if he's been reading this thread!!!!

Right gonna try move dots back into crib so I can grab another hour!!

Til the very next day ??

Dixiebell · 24/01/2013 06:27

Was going to put Teddy back down after his 5.30 feed, DH going into work early so could enjoy a bit of a lie-in while ds1 still asleep. But Teddy had a lovely calm feed followed by random screaming, wriggling and projectile vomiting 3 times. Need to change bedding now, and I only replaced it all yesterday after a month . Ted now asleep on me and I'm too scared to move him in case he wakes. Also I know ds1 is not going to be happy when it's me, not Daddy who gets him up. Cue hysterics. At least he's at cm today.

Shiny sinks made me smile, as DH has always been fairly obsessed with shining the kitchen sink. I used to tease him about it as he'd spend time on that when there were other more important jobs IMO but perhaps that's where I've been going wrong!

Dixiebell · 24/01/2013 06:37

On petrol, I always really worried about leaving ds1 in the car. Used to drive out of way to pay at pump, or bring him in with me, or try and fill up only when with DH. But had to do it the other day with both boys in car, and thought, why did I ever worry, it's obvious, just leave 'em in the car! Feel much more relaxed about it this time round!

On swimming, detective, I had all those concerns with ds1. You'd think pools would be a bit better set up for babies. I did baby classes so left buggy outside in cafe and used flip down changer, held ds1 in one arm while shoving stuff in locker one-handed. The pain was when there were no family cubicles available (hot property during baby classes - the stampede out of the pool at the end of class to bag one was frankly undignified) having to dress a baby in a tiny cubicle, balanced on a narrow wooden bench was a contortion act. Best thing about swimming tho was how it knocks them out afterwards. Ds1 used to fall asleep as I was getting him changed and stay that way for hours afterwards!

Bryzoan · 24/01/2013 06:58

clarella just try and make it through the day. Ditch all chores as an emergency measure. It will get better.

stunt that sounds rotten. I would be aiming at getting to docs asap in case you need antibiotics. Difficult to know re hosp appt. Are you well enough to go? You could phone first thing and find out when it could be rescheduled to if it isn't urgent? If it is mastitis I read that rest is pretty important.

gt don't think I've ever seen a kids pool that doesn't have easy access - steps or a slope rather than a ladder. I just hold them while getting in. I always managed to avoid filling the car when it was just me and dd1 when she was tiny and haven't had to yet manage with g - but would probably pick a not busy petrol station and leave him if I had to now as he is getting quite strong.

I'm amazed at how quickly he is coming on. He babbles with a bigger range of sounds now than dd1 can make! I love the little conversations. His neck is so strong too. Can't wait till his legs are free - expect it will take a bit of time for the leg strength to come but I can do patience on a good day.

Don't stop posting, please! It's hard to keep up but very enjoyable to read when g is settling post feed. And I keep learning so much from you all. And laughing. I would really like a glass of lemonade.

zcos · 24/01/2013 07:13

Marking place but can I join quiche please my d was early dec baby but was due nov... Think I can learn a lot from you ladies!

PetiteRaleuse · 24/01/2013 07:21

I'm craving lemonade too this morning Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 24/01/2013 07:22

Welcome zcos and congratulations on your LO :)

zcos · 24/01/2013 07:29

Thank you...noticing lots of peeps talking bout babies suddenly changing over past few days... I discovered wonder weeks book website etc that talks bout mental leaps rather than growth spurts one happens 7-9 weeks leads to fussy Velcro baby for a while because they are adjusting and it's overwhelming for lo ... It helped me not to resent my lo too much for suddenly turning evil though I'm still on the fence bout it but many babies seem to be making these changes at the stages the book talks about.

CandyPop · 24/01/2013 07:38

Another swimming question ... What about showering afterwards ?!

PetiteRaleuse · 24/01/2013 07:40

I didn't shower. Waited til I was home.

NotSoNervous · 24/01/2013 07:52

Welcome zcos this thread move unbelievably fast, hope you can keep up Smile

stunt&izzy my spectra 3 come yesterday and the instructions say to only clean it weekly? I you to sterilise my old one every 24hrs, what do you both do? Also can the bottle to it go in an electric steriliser? Doesn't seem like it will be done properly just leaving it in boiling water for 2-3min Confused

We've been up since 7 and DD won't go back to sleep Sad

horseylady · 24/01/2013 08:00

He slept!! I didn't think he would but he did.

I think he'll feel better now having slept!

Gt we pass to the teacher and get in. If not I'd prob go with dh!
