Previous thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/1655656-November-2012-sleeping-through-yet

The answer to the sleeping though question was a chorus of "no"s but there were a few resounding yesses and a lot more keeping quiet because the rest of us would be well jel.

Petite (or anyone else), I am not sure about saline drops, what to get. I have saline for my eyes, is it the same stuff? Not thinking I would use that but I haven't seen specific baby saline! I am probably being dim but I am not sure what to get and L is getting a bit snuffly. Really don't want him to get ill.

horseylady · 17/01/2013 20:47

Daisy - ds is being christened too. He's got a gorgeous tweed suit but not sure if he needs a proper christening suit??!!

ChunkyChicken · 17/01/2013 20:53

Anyone darhhhnn saffff apart from me, dh & glenda?? South East in particular. Lakeside IKEA??!!

DD (Eleanor) is Nelly-bum, Squidgy-bum, pickle & munchkin and will also come running if DH whistles.

DS is mainly snausage or little man. But occassionally gets Greedy chops, Chubby chops and the Chubmeister. Perhaps even Mr Chubtastic, Master Chubs.... are you sensing a theme here? Grin

Oh, and in minor news... Greedy chops took a bottle!! Only gave him 2oz from a medela bottle with a basic teat, but he didn't look too confused or spit it out. He did however latch on me for seconds & then promptly "posseted" that word doesn't do the torrential flood of excess milk from his gob justice all over the shop specifically me, his clothes, Bib & muslin.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 17/01/2013 20:57

Oo pp I had DS1 at Wexham. Went to Frimley Park for DD2

Dunchurch is the posh end catbag! Is nice village. I lived on a new estate right on the M6 junction, Coton Park, was ok, I made some good friends I still have in Rugby.

daisychain76 · 17/01/2013 20:58

Horsey that sounds really cute. l don?t think tg

blonderthanred · 17/01/2013 21:01

I'm South Chunky. I actually am, not trying to muscle in.

NotSoNervous · 17/01/2013 21:07

Oh garden so sorry Sad hope your okay and have lots of RL support. You know we're all here if you need to vent or not, take care of yourself

catbag I'm not to far from rugby

blonde were using saline drops and there made by calpol, I think they were about £3 from asda

My DD is 13w tomorrow and this last week has been really grumpy, she only has about 2 or 3 20min cat naps each day and today twice she has just let out piercing screams and crys, any ideas? Or am I just over thinking

We have a lot of snow here! It's only ment to get worse so ill be staying in until its gone, I don't like driving in it anyway and don't want to with LO in the car

horsey were getting Dd christened and I want a unisex gown so if we're lucky enough to have more they can all wear it and hopefully it can be a kind of heirloom to be passed down

Evilwater · 17/01/2013 21:07

Hi all, sorry for not posting for a while.
Things are ok, with P. it could one way or another, but P is trying his best.

N still hates to go to sleep, if he had his way he would be up all day and night.
Gotta go,
Evil

What a day I've had. Last night E vomited up a lot of brown blood, twice. Went to HV to get her weighed. She finally weighs over her birth weight which is some good news but she's still not putting on enough. It was straight from clinic to drs to investigate the brown vomit. He couldn't find any reason for it so it we then went up to the walk in young persons urgent care unit at the hospital. After spending a couple of hours up there and E being thoroughly investigated they said she's perfectly healthy. Which I guess is great news but why then was she sicking up brown blood! It's a mystery.

HV is coming over tomorrow to observe me feeding E. This cold she has isn't making it easy for her to feed so I'm not expecting that to go well! And I am back to the peads on 30th jan for another check up. And I have to get her weighed once a week.

garden shit, that's awful. As others have said vent here as often as you feel the need too. And purple what an awful thing to happen. Hugs to you both.

I haven't read through all the thread today, will catch up now.

daisychain76 · 17/01/2013 21:10

Try again! Don?t think there?s any need for a special suit really. l might try and find a cute waistcoat or something, if they make them for 4 month olds!

Blonder l just asked for saline drops for LO at pharmacy, but then my dr told me they weren?t recommended cos could cause choking? Having said that, she is the dr who made me go back twice to test H?s eyes were following things cos she forgot to work to his corrected age.

daisychain76 · 17/01/2013 21:13

X post with eliza, what a rotten day. Glad they found E was fine, so hopefully it won?t happen again.

Passmethecrisps · 17/01/2013 21:24

daisy just buy them in a supermarket. I got
Mine in sainsbury's in the baby isle.

eliza that sounds like a rubbish day

KissysUnderTheMisteltoe · 17/01/2013 21:30

I'm a southerner chunky! Lakeside or Croydon ikeas are closest to me.

I call my LO froglet sometimes, cos she looked like a little frog all curled up on DPs chest when she was tiny

Another fan of the duck song here petite! Honey bear is a good one too

Hope your LO is ok Eliza x

Evilwater · 17/01/2013 21:35

Is it wrong for me to look for a reason to leave P? Part of me is itching for a reason, the other is hoping we can stay together.

N really hates to sleep, it's so difficult. I have to swaddle him and rock him till he goes to sleep even during the day and then he only sleeps for 30 mins. Sometimes it works, and like tonight most times it doesn't work. But I don't know what else to do. All the crying isn't helping matters, but it makes the difficult points stand out.

The boiler is acting up, P tried to see where the problem is and has disconnected a hose. It still has a flashing light, but it does not annoy him. He wants me to call it in as emergency, but it's still giving us hot water and heating. Men.........
Here's hoping to catch up on the thread.

sophia Well, Dunchurch may be the posh end, but that's my parents' house so doesn't count, lol. I lived just off Lower Hillmorton Road for a bit, and then in one of those terraced boxes in a road just off Clifton Road when my son was born. Finally ended up in a council house in Brownsover (yuck) for 7 months while we saved to move to Yorkshire. I don't think I know Coton Park- is it up past Brownsover, that way? I haven't been back since 2005, and only visited friends occasionally before that. Probably wouldn't recognise the place now. My sister said that they have been developing madly around what was the outer border.

Elizadoesdolittle · 17/01/2013 21:39

chunky and blonder I'm south too. Lakeside is really easy for me to get too, assuming the dartford tunnel is flowing nicely!

Re nicknames DD1 tends to be called monster or noise machine when we are referring to her in conversation. She used to be called kiwi as she was conceived in NZ -too much info- I quite like that nickname, might start it up again.

DD2 hasn't done so well. She's either goblin or salacious b crumb. Quite a lengthy nickname! For the non Star Wars geeks amongst you (and I suspect that's most of you) s b crumb is the funny rat type thing that sits at the feet of jabba the hut! I think DH was inadvertently saying I'm like jabba the hut. Just as well I have a good sense of humour. I'm assuming he was joking Smile

ValiumQueen · 17/01/2013 21:45

evil never mess with a boiler. I would call it in personally, and disconnecting a hose on a boiler is as good a reason as any to leave a man. Seriously though, get the boiler checked, and hope you soon feel more settled with your partner x

J seems a bit brighter. Gosh the boy can scream!

Evilwater · 17/01/2013 21:47

Oh garden, huge hugs.

I live in devon, and would love a meet up. Hoping there are no more poorly babies.

I hope that all our babies are very tostie and warm in this cold weather.

Manchester Ikea is good for me!!

M keeps being called Merry Moo by me and DH. Mum tells me off though as she thinks it's a cruel name Confused think she thinks we're calling her a cow Grin

It's snowing here too. DH has to drive over t'moors to work so not sure how that'll work tomorrow

NotSoNervous · 17/01/2013 21:48

Oh and welcome furious

I'm still completely clueless to the reasoning to the name of this thread, I gathered someone gate crashed the other thread but not sure what was said, someone want to fill me in ??

ValiumQueen · 17/01/2013 21:50

I think saline drops or spray is less likely to cause choking than a build-up of snot and mucous. You can get drops free through minor ailments at the chemist. You just register. You do not need to be on benefits or anything. Spray is easier though.

Gro bags - I put j in either a long sleeved vest or a gro depending on temp. Very rare to need vest and gro in my house.

blonderthanred · 17/01/2013 21:53

Eliza that must have been really worrying. If you are not satisfied or it carries on I would go back. Congratulations on reaching birth weight. Such a milestone even though I know you were hoping for a bigger gain. Is your hv really knowledgeable about bf or is there anyone else you can talk to?

Thanks for advice re saline, sounds like I missed the obvious.

I could do Lakeside Ikea btw.

ValiumQueen · 17/01/2013 21:54

Billie is also known as Booster or Bileous at times too. Also sometimes refered to as the little shit, but never within her hearing, and always in a loving, if frustrated way. She is two. Need I say more.

ValiumQueen · 17/01/2013 21:57

eliza if it happens again I would definately get her seen immediately, and try to keep the vomit too so they can inspect it. I would be inclined to go to A and E

ValiumQueen · 17/01/2013 22:00

How is YW ? Who else is in scotland? I know of me, pass, MM and YW. Any others?
