GT sadly nothing can be done at this point :(

Standard management is swab for infection (result wasn't back on Friday, should be back today) then observe. 6 week postnatal clinic at hospital if still not healing. Basically no one will touch it til it a) isn't infected and b) has had ample time to heal.

I'm stuck between a rock (on my arse cheek) and a hard place (my vagina) lol... Well I have to laugh, or I'd cry again .

Having a feeling sorry for myself moment tonight!

katkit1 · 03/12/2012 02:35

Dixiebell - same here. In first few days, baby only wanted to be on me or feeding on me (no basket or cot) it is exhausting. He is slightly better now but agree with Detective that we need to keep to the 30 min cuddle rule after feed before putting him in the basket/cot. I am on day 13. Not tons of help for you right now but it does get a big easier

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/12/2012 02:38

I have used she who must not be named successfully with all of mine.i think the key is to realise it is a theory and if things go wrong then you work out a way to fix it not have a meltdown because you are not in line with the book.

It does take a little hard work to get going and you do need some days just at home focusing on itin the early days, but I find once you do it makes life much easier, and contrary to what some people say I find it makes you more flexible as they become so secure in their routine they will settle anywhere as their feed and sleep structure is familiar.

Anyway shoot me down in flames but I like a routine for me so makes sense this works for me, I realise doesn't suit all.

Xx

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/12/2012 02:47

Detective it will heal in time it will take a while though. I am amazed this time at how I have bounced back physically I can stand up sit and walk about , sit on the floor, lift buggies, just normal except for the bleeding, but even that isn't as bad this time as I had a syntocin drip after birth to help with it.

I thought what you are going through detective was normal Shock and I had a twisted sacral bone after as well. I was wrecked last time, and bruised to billy o the time before.

Be really gentle with yourself and tell your HV, go to the GP, get the stitches checked to give you peace of mind they have been done properly.

Evilwater · 03/12/2012 03:34

Morning everyone, thanks for all the messages of support.
dectecive- I hope you get that thrush sorted soon, it must be hell. Having both the arse and fanjo in pain.

dixie- baby evil cried for hours, and would only settle when up right. It was trapped wind that was causing all the trouble.

gtbaby- I'm using some of SHMNON routines. I offer baby evil milk and do a nappy change roughly every four hours. During the night I leave him till he wakes up. I'm finding it very handy as N is eating small but often, and is now beginning to stop wolfing his milk down. which is great for is wind problem, and we are using the infacol less.

Now I'm offering the boob, before, during and after a feed. I'm using the cross hold, and I'm pressing my boob to make a c shape as I have big boobs. I try both breasts, and I offer the boob when he wants so convert suck.

There is a chatterbox session tomorrow, ill go and see if any mums can help. Never been to one before, and im looking forward to it. Also he Deffo has his jabs at 1420. Wish me luck.

Evil

Dixiebell · 03/12/2012 03:53

DH took Teddy downstairs for a couple of hours so at least I hot some sleep. Little monster's back on my boob now tho. May be it for sleep for me tonight...

Anyone got a groegg thermometer? They're cool and the traffic light colours are great, but when temp is on cusp of cold/ok it is like a bloody disco in here, flashing blue to yellow as the temperature varies. It woke me up! So have switched off. bit of a design fault, i feel like complaining to the gro company...

Catbag · 03/12/2012 04:12

Oh! It has actually snowed...

Dixiebell · 03/12/2012 05:09

Where r u catbag?

No luck with the 30 min cuddles that time...back on boob again. Urgh.

Dixiebell · 03/12/2012 05:10

There's me hoping for snow here, just checked weather and it says currently 9 degrees Hmm

pikz · 03/12/2012 05:11

Didn't realise dd had done a poo I kept trying to feed her but she was grunting and eventually crying :(

We're up before ds which is unheard of but v nice to just be me and dd watching the news with a cuppa!

TheDetective · 03/12/2012 07:38

I asked for Ewan the ugly dream sheep for Christmas off my mum Grin. I think he will like it!

He's been going 4 hours between feeds since yesterday tea time. But has been feeding for an hour. Can't decide what is easier short cloEr together feeds or long spaced out feeds!

StuntNun · 03/12/2012 07:44

I'm coming up for three weeks now and wondering when I'll be able to start driving again. I phoned my insurance company and they said I could drive when I had my doctor's permission. My CS scar looks healed: it is a brown line now. I still have a bit of pain but I'm off the painkillers. DH did an emergency stop on Saturday and I was okay. Now my mum has gone home I'm dependent on the neighbours to take the boys to and from school which they don't mind doing but I can't really expect them to do that until Christmas. Also DS1 has medical appointments on the 11th and 19th and it would be much easier if I could drive to them than trying to arrange taxis, especially with having to take the baby with us. What is everyone else doing re driving after a section?

You right it is ugly but ace. It weirdly makes the noise of your womb and glows red. I was very skeptical about it however babypikz has just slept for 3.5 hours in between each feed and gone down in Moses basket straight away with no fuss. Am in love with Ewan.

pikz · 03/12/2012 07:47

stunt I don't have the answer but I to would love to know as I live on a dirt track in the countryside so not being able to drive is making me go bananas!

When I asked the midwife yesterday she said 6 weeks :(

Snowing like a crazy thing here! So glad I am not doing my normal commute to work. Actually, I think today might be P and I's first pyjama day!

I am another one who feels saved in the nick of time. P fed between 10 and 11:30. Again between 2 and 3 then her daddy got up with her at 6:30. She has now fed and is in her swing. Not a different pattern to the previous night but she is just so much more relaxed. I think we might have turned a corner with the wind/constipation issues. She is more like the wee dolly we had before. I really hope so because it has been a horrid thing.

The other difference is that I actually slept. I spent just the same number of hours in bed but actually got sleep rather than lying there awake. I feel like a new woman!

It also helps that it is snowy and horrid outside but warm and snuggly inside.

Passmethecrisps · 03/12/2012 07:55

Oh, and P self-settled in her basket after both feeds. Maybe I should get me a sheep just in case though.

Catbag · 03/12/2012 08:34

Re driving- the decision is not a medical one, it's because after any sort of major abdominal surgery you may have difficulty performing an emergency stop. Policy varies between insurance companies which is why you need to call them. Mine, for example, didn't class cs as a medical issue and so said I could drive as soon as I felt able. If you drive before their policy says you can, you may invalidate your insurance. VQ made an excellent suggestion a few weeks ago, which was to sit on the sofa and emulate the movements of driving (going through the gears etc) and to have a go at an emergency stop. If you have any pain, then you're not ready, regardless of the insurance company's position.

I could have driven after 3 weeks I think. Unfortunately the twins feed so much that even now there's no point in me trying to drive anywhere because they are bound to decide they are starving afterchalf an hour, and trying to feed them out of the house just isn't possible. Living in the Yorkshire Dales means everywhere takes longer to get to. Add in what I'm supposed to do when I get to my destination (put them into their pushchair or a trolley) by myself and it's just not worth it. I have driven once in the last eight weeks, which makes me sad as we bought a massive 7 seater 2 weeks before I gave birth to cart us all about. It was my new toy and I haven't been able to play with it. I am a prisoner in my own home :(

horseylady · 03/12/2012 08:39

Poor boy is so full of cold :( having a nightmare feeding him as I think everything hurts him :( well it's not a nightmare maybe he's just settling into a pattern. He did sleep 11 - 5am last night, ate 2oz then woke at 745 and has just eaten 3oz but he usually gobbles 4-5oz each feed?

He coughed so much last night as well though his snuffles seem better. Going to try steam in the bathroom tonight see if that helps him at all. I gave him some water last night at 8 as he'd eaten a good feed but wouldn't stop coughing/crying. His breathing is normal just coughing. He's so alert as well so not unduly worried.
Perhaps some developmental thing going on also reducing his eating passion?!

Catbag · 03/12/2012 08:43

I think as long as you are happy with how he is in himself horsey there is no need to worry unduly. You know him best and will be able to see if there is anything wrong i wotld think. I always have known when my little ones were ill because they smelled different the day before they came down with it. Try explaining that one to a sceptical male doctor Hmm

Catbag · 03/12/2012 08:46

Speaking of VQ- she has been quiet for a couple of days. Hope you are ok x
