Blush couldn't be bothered to wake up at 6.45. Lol how do u manage it? Those of u who follow TOWMNBN , were u early risers before LO? I am a sleep monster. Well in morning I am, I'm fine staying awake at night! Just waking is an issue.

Just looked up Ewan on amazon. Asked SIL to get it as she has been asking for gift ideas.

Today i need to go to post office to return the slings I bought, address envelopes for Xmas cards. N wash my hair!

GTbaby · 03/12/2012 08:51

OpsBlush meant SWMNBN not TOWMNBN haha

KissysUnderTheMisteltoe · 03/12/2012 08:53

I'm also wondering if I'll be able to drive next week, DP goes back to work on Monday and I need to take DD1 to play group. Feel like I'll be fine as no pain anymore but not sure if I should or not.

Just ordered a Ewan the Sheep for LO Smile

horseylady · 03/12/2012 09:02

Gt - I'm a morning and a night person. Can't say either bother me.

Cat - he's happy just got a cold and I can't make him better!!

horseylady · 03/12/2012 09:04

Vq just been on Facebook - j in hospital with broncalitus.

Chunkychicken · 03/12/2012 09:05

Had a bad night. DS wouldn't feed properly or go to sleep between 3.30 & nearly 6am & then when he did, he pooed so needed a nappy change. Was at the end of my tether, as he wasn't crying but just wouldn't settle no matter what.:(

Chunkychicken · 03/12/2012 09:06

Oh no!! Poor VQ & J of course.

Passmethecrisps · 03/12/2012 09:13

Oh Crikey. VQ just can't catch a break - it's been one thing after after an other for her. I hope everything is ok for her wee one.

Passmethecrisps · 03/12/2012 09:14

chunky could have been trapped wind. I am learning that P does a screamy shout when she has trapped wind. Can take an age to shift it.

Catbag it was my insurance company that said I could start driving again with permission from the GP so I just have to convince him I've recovered. I don't feel fit for it yet but I'm hoping by next week I'll be in better shape. I was just wondering what everyone else was doing.

With regard to getting out with the twins I reckon being ultra organised is the key. If you have your pushchair, car seats and changing bag already in the car then you'll just need to load in the babies and get going. You may need to park more carefully to ensure easy access to the boot and to be able to open the back doors fully. I'm sure once you've done a couple of trips it'll seem easier. The problem will be getting anything done with hoards of people cooing over the twins.

Catbag · 03/12/2012 09:52

stunt Yes, the cooing thing definitely makes it harder to get anywhere; I've found that when just walking down to the local shops with the pushchair before picking the DDs up from school. Our car has slidey doors so parking isn't so bad. It's just their feeding pattern, or lack thereof, that makes it difficult as I am ebf. I was trying to express so that I could take bottles out with me, but it would seem that cat-norks do not want to give up the milk unless there is a baby on the other side, and I feed them together. If I try and just feed them one at a time, I end up with one of them screaming and that doesn't help me relax at all!

StuntNun · 03/12/2012 09:56

That's cute but annoying Catbag. Hopefully it will get easier soon though now they're a bit older.

Sophia & GT I am doing the GF routine with my girls. I started 2 weeks after they got home from the SCBU when they were 4 weeks old. It has been hard going but I can definitely see a routine and the girls are settling nicely. I have to be up at 6:45 every morning to get everything done as it takes an age to do anything. The girls don't get to leave my bedroom until 3pm each day as feeding & changing them can sometimes take 2 hours, plus their are naps to fit in! We go for a walk at 3:30 each day, the fresh air definitely helps them sleep at night.

They used to shared a cot but I have recently separated them into their own cots and they disturb each other much less now. They nap from 8:45am-10am, 11:45-2pm & 4pm-5pm. I wake them for each feed at the same time everyday. They eat every 3 hours, apparently topping them up in the day helps them to sleep well at night. I can see this working now. Megan still wakes for her 3am feed and I feed her again at 7pm. Georgina is a much better sleeper and can manage from 11pm-5am. I am praying she will sleep through by Christmas. I am not so hopeful with Megan though. Megan had another 2 stopping breathing/choking episodes last week. Scary and very worrying. I went and bought sensor monitors for both of them. She is seeing a pediatrician about it next week.

The girls were 9 weeks old on Saturday but 4 weeks corrected age. Who knew you could love something so much! :)

gardenpixies32 · 03/12/2012 10:19

VQ I hope J is ok. There were a few babies with bronchiolitis in the hospital when I was there with Megan. Poor little thing.

gardenpixies32 · 03/12/2012 10:21

7am not 7pm. Poor thing would be starved to death!

Dixiebell · 03/12/2012 11:27

Has anyone bought one of those journal type books for grandparents? It is for, say, grandma to fill in some of the stories from her childhood and life and eventually pass onto her grandchildren. We were thinking of getting one for MIL for Xmas, but not sure which is best. They are mostly American publications so sometimes the questions asked are a bit weird/irrelevant. Also MIL and FIL are divorced so I don't want one with sections for them both...it's hard to tell on amazon which might suit.

horseylady · 03/12/2012 11:49

Moved to the next teat size, happier feeding!! Seriously it was like bf all over again!!!

Someone was asking about last children. Well ds is my first, possibly only. I'm not sure I can imagine going through everything again. People keep asking if I'll have another but I'm not so sure. I'm a big sister, I get on well with my sister but dh doesn't with his. I'm also not sure how people look after two! Plus I love ds and think he's great!! Another one might not be so nice!! Well see. No need to make any decisions for a year or two yet!!

Anyway teat size changing worked for us. He was ready. After this weekends feeding issues we needed to try something!!

FatimaLovesBread · 03/12/2012 12:14

Another quick post.
I've gt a boob monster! The Midwife's just been and discharged us. M has put on 9oz since Wednesday Shock

GTbaby · 03/12/2012 12:27

horsey what were the Signs to move up teat? My LO is 7weeks tomorrow. Seems to feed fine. Maybe leaves some milk at the end, but other then thAt I see no problems. Just want to know what to look put for.
garden so glad to hear ur coping with GF with twins! Surely I have no excuse other then laziness! however gutted to hear LO still having problems.

On GF front LO is settled for 11-2 nap. Surprisingly easy to put him down n he was asleep within 5mins. I was worried as he didn't have scheduled awake time between 8.30-10.
Oh well will keep u informed Smile
fx for at least one more asleep hour

horseylady · 03/12/2012 13:04

He was taking an age to feed, like he wasn't getting much. As such he'd either scream at the bottle or fall asleep. Everyone said it was a nightmare moving up if he wasn't ready, but this was a change over a few days and he just seemed angry at the bottle. If your lo is happy, don't change there's probably little point. Today with the different teat, feeding is back to normal!!

A lot probably depends on your baby, your bottles etc. E is a hungry baby, he has zero patience waiting and will put no effort into feeding. A lot of friends moved theirs up at 7 to 9 weeks.

TheDetective · 03/12/2012 13:05

I'm very tired today. All plans have gone out window! Oh well!

I think Oscar has grown in length as his baby grows seem strained at the neck! Well it is either that or the way DP is dressing him! It's a shame as he doesn't fill them outwards so technically they look too big as well as too small for him!

horseylady · 03/12/2012 13:21

Two couple friends if ours are both expecting!! They've been trying for as long (if not longer) as us!! Both successful (touch wood!!) ivf one is expecting twins!!

I didn't realise the amount of drugs etc they have to take and the amount of time they have to take stuff for. Still totally over the moon for them.

ValiumQueen · 03/12/2012 13:35

Not caught up yet, but just to say we are on our way home. Jacob is not well, but not needing anything we cannot do at home (he has been in hospital since yesterday morning with bronchiolitis). He sounds awful and I was really suprised when they said he could go home. We have a direct admission in case he deteriorates. Poor little mite. I was very impressed at speed of diagnosis. They suck out the snot and test it. Very common in young babies and they had a positive test within 10 minutes. Good that he did not need antibiotics, and that it was not anything more serious, but still very hard seeing your baby like that. Hope all your little ones manage to avoid it x

PetiteRaleuse · 03/12/2012 13:43

Bronchiolitis is a virus, so no antiobiotics which is the one redeeming feature of it. Glad you're on your way home, you'll both be better able to rest there.

TheDetective · 03/12/2012 13:47

Testing snot?! Wow, that's really clever! Glad you are on your way home! He's giving you a run for your money isn't he!!

Just put up to first month babygrow on Oscar and they are big but wearable (would have drowned him 10 days ago!) I've still got a couple of unworn first size things. Damn it. Will stretch them. Grin
