I loved kate's thread name but thought we needed a birthday theme for this one. We'll soon have 6 weeks of birthdays to celebrate!

Glad the scan went well gary, and hope you're able to relax a big more now. Hope the rabbit pulls through, how many do you have? Happy birthday to your DS :).

Bad day here, DS has been whingey and DH came home this afternoon in a grump. He's on a split shift so working again tonight, I'll be glad when it's bedtime!

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/12/2012 18:07

Gary Glad scan went well. Happy Birthday to your DS!

Well Sky's birthday presents are wrapped, huge helium filled balloon brought and just got to put the banners up once she's in bed and we are ready for tomorrow Smile

MissChristmastRee · 21/12/2012 19:51

Glad the scan went well Gary Grin sorry to hear about the bunny though Hmm

How are you feeling today BJR? Is your Mum coping?

Have yourself a nice relaxing bubble bath and watch some trashy telly, Seven! That's what I'd do if DP was out.

Freya is still poorly. Both doctor and HV yesterday said not to worry unless she stops eating/drinking. Her tummy looks like a balloon though and she's clearly in massive discomfort at times because she screams until she either farts (loud, long and proud) or does a humungous explosive poo. She wakes in the night screaming with it and last night, she puked everywhere. I was shocked at how much!

It's been a whole week of diarrhoea and vomiting tomorrow and the antibiotics finished on Tuesday Hmm

LittleMissKitschmas · 21/12/2012 21:08

I'd be tempted with out of hours MissRee as that sounds hideous. Can she have yoghurt? Maybe ramp up the good beasties and try to settle her tum a little:(

Congrats for handing in mopsy, enjoy Christmas with your family:)

Still lurking. Term ended today. Can't relax until Tuesday though. Onwards?

MissChristmastRee · 21/12/2012 21:44

Thanks LMF, we called OOH docs at about 6.30 who said they would call back within the hour... and we're still waiting.

Freya is sleeping quite well so far but we haven't yet reached the midnight witching hour!

Hope you manage to get a bit of R&R over the Christmas period, not to mention lots of lovely chocolate!

MissChristmastRee · 21/12/2012 21:45

Oh and the last yoghurt she had came back up almost instantly Hmm

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 21/12/2012 22:42

Hope they've got back to you by now missree, poor thing she must be really miserable :(

LMF hope you're doing ok. I don't know why Christmas is a hard time for you but remember we're here if you need to talk or vent.

Happy birthday to Sky for tomorrow DSM!

Meant to say that after a week Eva's rash is now starting to go. It's still noticeable and itchy on her belly and thighs where it was worst, elsewhere it's pretty much gone but you can still feel where it was iykwim, and it's left her skin horribly dry. The thicker emollient the HV prescribed for her face worked to an extent, it's no longer chapped and raw looking but is still fairly dry, and the skin on her chin is flaking off. Anyone have any tips on getting rid of dead skin other than sandpaper so we don't have flaky skin Christmas photos?!

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 22/12/2012 06:21

Sky sends her Birthday buddy Figgyboy Lots of love x

NorthernChinchilla · 22/12/2012 09:33

Just a flying one from me, as it's been hectic Xmas stuff over here....

HURRRRAHHHHHH! for Mopsy, so pleased you've handed in! When do you become DrMopsy Xmas Grin

Squeeeeeeeeeee! for GBT, so pleased the scan was positive, that's wonderful news just before Xmas.

Happy Birthday to Sky and Figgyboy!

Major, major ((((hugs)))) for MissRee and Freya, that sounds grim beyond belief. I really hope it sorts out before Xmas.

Sorry to hear about your Mum and her friend BJR, how awful, and at this time of year as well.

Get jiggy DSM!

Hope BOi's eyes sort out, poor thing.

We are....

..all reasonably well, I haven't died of overwork, but it's a close run thing and DP is a star for letting me have the first half of the lie and and doing loads of packing last night, and off to my Dad's for the first bit of Xmas.
Back soon!

MissChristmastRee · 22/12/2012 09:37

Happy birthday Sky and Figgyboy!!!!!

The OOH doc called at midnight - we were asleep!

FestiveFiggy · 22/12/2012 10:18

Happy birthday sky!!

We have made a monumental mistake and bought him a ball pit he has ignored all other presents opened so far and continued with gusto to throw balls everywhere and when that failed tipped the whole thing upside down!! Learn from my mistake ladies if there are any ball pod wrapped up under the tree leave them there Grin

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 22/12/2012 10:50

Oh dear we have one wrapped for Sky for Xmas!

We have a laugh & learn shapes cookie jar which Sky loves. All the shapes are being launched across he room. X

OiMissus · 22/12/2012 10:55

Happy birthday figgyboy and sky!
I am ironing. This is not good.
Although its marginally not as bad as your luck missree. Hmm Hope Freya is soon better. Poor thing.
BOi's eyes are still gunky, red and puffy, but not as bad as Thursday. We're just bathing in cooled boiled water as advised.
And the fish are in their new aquarium, and seem to like it. They look so much smaller. Spoilt! Grin

Aethelfleda · 22/12/2012 13:11

Happy birthday Sky and Figgyboy.

Bleugh, we have all come down the winter vomiting virus (apart from DS)

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 22/12/2012 13:44

Aethel Hope you feel better soon.

Sky is having a much needed nap. I'm putting my feet up as feel AF is here but I'm 2days late. Feel pants Sad

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 22/12/2012 18:21

Ooh DSM that works well for new year ttc! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Hope you're all well very soon too aethel, Christmas with the winter vomiting virus does not sound fun!

Hope sky and figgyboy have both had great birthdays. Do we have any more shared ones?

A good day here, been to my parents, popped into the charity shop with my sister (they sell new toys, she was eyeing up a gorgeous wooden dolls house for her DD for £45!) and found trivial pursuit for £3.95. It's all there and will do for Christmas night entertaining. I also bought a couple of extra pressies for DD. Came home and started some of tomorrow's frantic pre-Christmas tidy, clean sheeted the bed and iced the Christmas cake.

What is everyone doing for Christmas? MIL will pop round for presents and mince pies in the morning, then we have my parents round for lunch, and they'll probably still be here for Christmas tea.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 22/12/2012 18:38

Thanks Seven. Not sure where AF is but it's around somewhere! So my cycle has been put out as I'm normally regular as clockwork.

Sky has had a fab birthday (pics on FB group) had loads of fab toys and lots of lovely clothes!

Sky has been bathed am just feeding her and getting her to bed. Darcie is at my mums till 7:30 and I'm going to eat pizza & crack open the first bottle of Xmas wine Grin

FestiveFiggy · 22/12/2012 20:59

have finally sat down its been mad today am eating ice cream for tea because it's Xmas and my baby is 1 blub blub!!!

Thank u for all the messages for figgyboy

MissChristmastRee · 22/12/2012 21:56

I have never been so pleased with one of Freya's poos! We had a semi-solid one tonight and I almost did a dance in celebration Grin

I might have to rename her White Fang though with that one lonely canine Wink

CheungFun · 23/12/2012 08:23

Happy birthday to Figgyboy for yesterday, love the photos :-) Glad he loved the ballpit, we've got one for DS too so I will make him open everything first on that info!

Happy birthday to Sky too :)

I put the tree up last night and so far DS is not interested in it! At the moment he has pulled his books off the shelf and actually seems to be looking at the pictures and turning the pages...I'm ready to pounce if he rips a page lol!

We are having a joint birthday party for DS and his friend as they're just 2 days apart. It has gone from an estimated 30 people to 70 - eek! It should be good fun, but am getting together with my friend later to check how much food to buy! I'm doing food and she's doing decorations and we will split the cost half and half.

Just waiting for DS to have a morning nap so I can make his birthday cake!

Swopped him onto cows milk in his bottle yesterday and he doesn't seem to mind. Will see how he feels about ditching the bottles tomorrow on his birthday - he's got a brand new snazzy sippy cup to mark the occasion! Steriliser has now been packed away :)

MissRee that's good news! I remember when DS had just the normal runs and it was great to see a proper poo instead of a greeny wet fart type of thing :o

DSM enjoy that wine whilst you can! Must be so exciting knowing you can TTC very soon :)

Aethelfleda · 23/12/2012 10:33

Phew, I'm pleased to say I'm better in all respects. Household still iffy though DD2's temp now down and DS still fine... A bit of plan re-jigging and we'll do! Homebaking is going to be strictly for the family though, I'm not passing any of the house toxins about with gome-made mince pies!!

Off to get our turkey (nearly didn't order one this year but glad I did now!) we're having a home turkey roast tonight to give us turkey sarnie goodness over Christmas (if we're all well we will be seeing DBro and DSiL on the day) and then back to the quarantined house to do some cheery christmas craft stuff with the DDs.

Hiya LMF, am thinking of you and hope Tuesday comes soon for you. I had a close relative who had Christmas-related Isshoos, so I sympathise, all the festive twee can be lousy/triggering sometimes.

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 23/12/2012 13:20

Glad you're feeling better aethel, and missree I'm glad to hear Freya is finally on the mend. Is she any happier yet?

Busy tidying day here, I refuse to spend all of Christmas Eve tidying up! Fridge, hallway and coat stand de-cluttered, floors swept and now about to put the third(!) load of washing on. Tesco is delivering Christmas food order this afternoon, still need to clean the kitchen and bathroom, then ironing tonight which will just leave hoovering for tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is having a more fun day!

OiMissus · 23/12/2012 14:33

...on our way to visit the in-laws.
Ho ho ho.
If GPs just give BOi money in a card ( like they did for his birthday), I will kick off.
I'm coming down with something, was in bed for 8:30 last night. Am not feeling particularly patient...
Or, make that, I'm in the mood for a scrap! Wink

KateKringle · 23/12/2012 21:02

'Tis the season to cook and clean! Hope everyone's on track and that all poorly ones are on the mend. Great news about Freya's semi-solid poo.

It seems I am raising a proper boy. He's suddenly on the move in a big way, and has the bumps and bruises to show for it. In the last day he has fallen over and bashed his face on a wooden chair leg, pulled a book off a shelf onto his toe and cut it open, and pushed his trolley of blocks (and himself) down a couple of steps! We had none of this with DD who was too scared to venture off on her own - she would just walk holding hands until 16 months old, wouldn't pull up, wouldn't cruise round furniture, wouldn't use the walkers, bum shuffled rather than crawled, and stopped when she reached steps Grin. Our house is made up of 3 old cottages and a new extension and there's one or two steps between each bit. It's impossible to stair gate everywhere, so looks like DS is just going to learn the hard way!

FestiveFiggy · 23/12/2012 21:24

Arrived in Aberdeen figgyboy was very well behaved in plane and through the airport, last minute Christmas shopping tomorrow and seeing my home friends, very excited as a friend I've known since school told me he and his gf due a baby in July......finally another baby in our group.

Ds in his travel cot, dh gone to the pub with my dad god help him, Me and mum are watching Noels Xmas presents (but seemingly without Noel) I'm crying my head off Grin
