I loved kate's thread name but thought we needed a birthday theme for this one. We'll soon have 6 weeks of birthdays to celebrate!

Jiggle I haven't got any real advice I am afraid, but am here with pompoms and fish as needed. I am not posting much at the minute as this time of year is bad for me, but I read daily:)

Aethelfleda · 20/12/2012 07:44

Roll up, roll up, get yer lovely caffeine here.....

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/12/2012 08:03

OMG think DH & I have agreed to TTC#3 in new year!

Jiggle hope things improve soon.

MissRee Hope you & Freya feels better soon.

OiMissus · 20/12/2012 10:05

I haven't read to catch up yet - hope you're OK jiggle.

Wwe had a bad night last night. BOi wouldn't sleep. I thought - you're definitely tired because your eyes are all puffy and almost closed... In the dark, I didn't make out the real problem. He now has conjunctivitis. :(
I called the docs. they aren't interested. we have to bathe his eyes for 4 days and then call back if there's no improvement.
not happy.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/12/2012 11:12

Oi If BOi's eyes don't improve with bathing. No need to go to docs go to chemist and get some Chlorphormenical (sp) should clear his eyes right up.

FestiveFiggy · 20/12/2012 11:36

His face is fine only a small graze on his head i was expecting a lot worse!!

CheungFun · 20/12/2012 12:24

Argggh! DS has almost driven me mad this morning! He's torn up DH's magazine, pulled books off the shelf, banged toys against the tv, banged toys against the radiator, slapped me in the face, bitten me and pulled my glasses off and thrown lunch on the floor!

I don't know what to do with him, he seems hellbent on destruction today! I've tried stopping him nicely and I've tried shouting but nothing is working :(

FestiveFiggy · 20/12/2012 12:38

Cheung breathe stay calm or lock him in the garden ......only kidding Grin

Could u take him out so he's distracted that's what I do when DS is being a hell beast

Aethelfleda · 20/12/2012 14:44

cheung I find a good long walk in the buggy (ideally to a cafe in town, park or pub by the river!) works wonders to combat grumpy babies. If they're tired they sleep and if not, hey, at least they are facing the other way and make less noise/carnage when they are strapped in ! and then make sure you have a Brew to soothe your nerves at the other end.

OiMissus · 20/12/2012 14:45

Gah! typed up a long post on my phone. lost. The new app works, but you need to post twice to send it. I post once and put my phone down. Ages later I come back and exit out - and it's gawn!
I've just been tothe pharmacist, they won't give anything without prescription until he's 2. She was v sorry. She's not allowed, but knows it would clear things up quickly. Grrrr! I'll call the docs again tomorrow, and if they won't help, I'll wait til night and call the OOH.

MissChristmastRee · 20/12/2012 14:59

I'm still here! Still fighting! Sick of barking coughing all day/night, sick of this stupid hot, itchy rash and Freya is still exploding all over the place! Spoke to doctor (again) this morning who said that as she's eating and drinking, they don't want to see her.

Took her to clinic this morning as well and the HV was very helpful and said to get her some vitamins to help build her immune system as the diarrhoea is likely caused by the antibiotics stripping her stomach of all the good bacteria.

She's still dinky at just under 8kg 17lb8oz) and we're to take her back next month as she's dropped a centile again. Probably due to illness but they want to see her pick up again next month.

Sorry to hear you're having DH troubles Jiggle, sounds miserable. I have no advice for you though I'm afraid.

Glad to see you lurking LMF, hope your chest has cleared up a bit now.

I'm sat on the floor surrounded by wrapping paper and unwrapped presents trying to find the motivation to get on...

MerryChristMoose · 20/12/2012 15:31

Hello all! Seasons Greetings from a snowy and cold (but not as cold as it has been) Northern Canada!

Jiggle it troubled me to read about your problems. As a family Solicitor, please can I recommend you get some advice, just to reassure you. If you asked him to leave and he was an arse about it, there are steps that can be taken to get him out. It might give you a clearer idea of your options.

I hope everyone who is unwell feels better soon.

DS's pre birthday play date went very well. I've never seen 36 mini cupcakes disappear so quickly. I may have tested more than one though...

DS now has two teeth! They've cut through but are in no rush to do much else. It looks like the top two may not be too far behind.

DH now off work until the 29th. DS woke up at 5:30 this morning so DH took him downstairs for breakfast etc and I had another 90 minutes in bed! I finally get to go for a cut and colour on my own this afternoon too!

I think I'm pretty much ready for Christmas. The cleaner has been, all presents are wrapped and all food purchased save for fresh fruit and veg. We've paid for MIL to fly business class to spend Christmas and DS's birthday (27th) with us. She's had a shit year. Her husband has recovred from bladder cancer, had two cateract ops (so he cant drive) and a hernia op. Her best friend died from cancer too. Her hubby agreed she needed a break, so she flies to us on the 23rd. She's soo excited. So am I!

I send you all my best wishes for a happy and healthy 2013!

mopsytop · 20/12/2012 17:53

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/12/2012 18:57

Mopsy Yay well done Grin Enjoy a relaxing break in Ireland now.

Well it's extremely wet here in the south. IL's garden is no longer a garden it is a lake Shock

Sky is already in bed bless her and Darcie is finishing her co-ordinates picture from school, then bath and bed for her and then bath for me & cuddle & chat about what 2013 will bring for us if Armageddon doesn't happen tomorrow!

Aethelfleda · 20/12/2012 20:10

We've just watched The Polar Express. Both DDs loved it (it's a believing vs scepticism film, good to show 5-8 year olds)

DSM congrats on your TTC decision, better eat any chocs in the house so that if Armagheddon does pitch up you won't have wasted good chocolate....

BJR · 20/12/2012 21:04

Had sad news today. One of my mum's close friends died while they were both at work together and it was my mum that found her. Feeling very sad that such a lovely lady that i've known for many years has gone and feel awful for what my mum has been through. Hate being so far away as I just want to go give her a hug Sad

Aethelfleda · 20/12/2012 21:57

((((hug)))) BJR. really sorry to hear that :(

MissChristmastRee · 21/12/2012 00:14

So sorry to hear that BJR Hmm

Double whammy - ginormous poosplosion AND super puke! Just had to have a midnight shower and now Freya is bouncing around like tigger possessed.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/12/2012 07:14

BJR So sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you & your mum.

MissRee Hope Freya stopped bouncing around and you got some sleep last night x

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 21/12/2012 09:56

Sorry to hear that BJR.

mopsy glad you've handed in, now enjoy that relaxing Christmas!

gary good luck with the scan today, how many weeks are you now?

DSM yay to TTC in the new year, does this mean you're definitely becoming a SAHM?

oi hope you manage to get DS conjunctivitis sorted out before Christmas.

jiggle sympathies, and I agree that two happy seperated parents is much better than two miserable ones together. How does H feel about staying together, or is he just taking the easy option? Just wondering why he's still there if he feels his life has been ruined by having kids and you're so awful he can manage to write 3 pages of your faults.

I had my 16 week MW appointment on Wednesday, got to hear the heartbeat which was fantastic. The new sofa arrived and looks really nice, and so comfy! I'm still not organised for Christmas, waiting for a present to arrive still, and need to make sauces and ice the cake, plus loads of tidying up as I don't want to spend all of Christmas Eve doing it. At least the food shopping is being delivered on Sunday so that's one job that doesn't need doing.

AnAirOfHopeInAManger · 21/12/2012 10:08

Both kids are still asleep Shock

They both have cold or viral infection and have temp and runny noises. Air is off school.

Xmas all sorted.

BJR thinking of you and your mum

DSM congrats on the TTC news

Merry Christmas everyone xx

GaryBuseysTeeth · 21/12/2012 16:29

BJR, sorry to hear your sad news. How is your mum coping with it?

Well done mopsy!

Congrats on the ttc in new year DSM, hope you've got a big enough car Xmas Wink
seven, oy! 16wks, it's flying by, hurrah on the new sofas!

Scan went well, one little heartbeat fluttering away, 6+6 instead of 7 (one day out wasn't bad)...although one of our rabbits is showing signs of heading towards the big field in the sky, so desperatly trying to give him all the natural remedies in the world (have medicine coming, but it won't get here till after Boxing Day) so feeling a bit down.
Oooh and it's DS's birthday.

madly at every else.
Hope everyone has a great weekend & Christmas if you're not on here until after then!! xx
