I loved kate's thread name but thought we needed a birthday theme for this one. We'll soon have 6 weeks of birthdays to celebrate!

Congratulations Kat

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 11/12/2012 10:14

Cheung Your right stress & exhaustion exacerbate Fibromyalgia. I'm trying to do everything and be as normal as possible but it's got to the point where I can't do it all anymore.

Figgy Hope you & DH sort out your differences soon.

DH & I had a shouting session at each other on Sunday but it was mainly my frustration at my stupid body :( Annoyed that I am trying so hard to 'be normal' but my stupid body doesn't like 'normal' :(

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 11/12/2012 10:27

Congratulations kat!

cheung yes I'm 15 weeks, and gary is also expecting. Anyone else broody yet? :o

DSM no advice to offer but sending sympathy and Thanks.

Hope all poorly people and babies are feeling a bit better today. The DCs are still snot-machines, but otherwise all ok here.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 11/12/2012 10:30

Seven Am broody but def want to wait till end of next year to TTC.

CheungFun · 11/12/2012 10:50

Cool so 3 LO's on the way Xmas Grin

We were originally planning a two year gap between DC, but I think now it might be more like a three year gap. Let's wait and see how 2013 goes Xmas Smile

DSM no advice, but sympathy and try to sit down with a Brew when you get a chance during the day - be kind to yourself.

Not sure what to do with the day, DS has woken up and is snotty and grumpy. Might brave going to the shops in a little while and finish up Christmas bits. Just a few cards, secret Santa gift, and I'd like to get a little something extra for DS and DH (spoilt men)!

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 11/12/2012 10:56

Our Christmas Tree is up I'm just about to finish making the house look all Christmassy Xmas Grin

XiaoxiongMerrilyOnHigh · 11/12/2012 11:15

Am totally shattered - combo of self-inflicted (Christmas dinner and party till 1am) and then came home to poorly DS who literally kept us up the rest of the night. Got about 40 mins sleep before I had to get up at 6.45am to go to work.

Big congrats and some Xmas Envy to kat!! I saw a teeny newborn at monday's baby group and my ovaries just went, "Oh hel-LO" Xmas Grin But ideally we want at least a 2 year age gap so need to hang on till February/March. Arrgh...

FestiveFiggy · 11/12/2012 12:52

Xiao i tip my hat to you that sounds really shitty i found 6 hours was my limit anything less i was a grey gibbering wreck so how you are managing today i dont know!!

Congrats to Kat.

Unfortunately i think i am being a bitch to DH at the moment as i have decided i want DC2 but we dont have the space (despite having a 3 bedroom house) or the money (despite 2 good incomes) and DH not on board, that is on top of wanting to be in scotland rather than where we are.....just want it all ways really so am frustrated and taking it out on him.

Drove 2 hours for a 10 minute meeting, going to head back soon as need to get a secret santa sorted for tomorrow and get christmas cards written as it is our team xmas night out tomorrow - christmas cocktail making class and party food ....excellent!!

More party bag crap has been bought balloons, bubbles, choc coins honestly they are costing a bleedin fortune though i have gone overboard. Need to get DS a cake on Friday anyone seen any good ones on the supermarket shelves? Regretting not having had one made now but just more expense.

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 11/12/2012 12:58

xiao February isn't that long away, especially with Christmas and new year before then. Is there anything you could do to keep you busy until you start trying, for instance I really wish I'd cleared a lot of the junk out of the garage and spare room before I got pregnant! Now it seems like an enormous task I just don't have the energy for.

DSM I bet your house looks fab and you're the sort of person who's house looks gorgeously festive but not at all tacky unlike mine.

We have homemade paperchains and paper lanterns to put up on DHs day off (as he won't let me do it). Also waiting for the clay decorations we made yesterday to finish drying so we can put glitter on them and put them on the tree.

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 11/12/2012 13:08

X-post

figgy does DH have any reasons for not wanting DC2 other than the finance and space issues? Can I ask why you don't have room if you have 3 bedrooms? Any chance you could move somewhere a bit cheaper, or any other expenses you could cut back on? Tbh I could easily say we can't afford another but I know we'll manage, our income is less now that before we had DS with me not working, but we adapt and we get by. You won't regret having another DC, but you might regret it if you don't.

Aethelfleda · 11/12/2012 14:08

happy b'day to Boi and Bee yesterday!

It's reet chilly down South today. Had a sorting-junk day, so have a miniscule fraction less to get cleared (sigh). Think I have a junk-breeding monster in the house....

AnAirOfHopeInAManger · 11/12/2012 16:30

Afternoon Xmas Grin

We all got up early washed and dressed by 9am. Hope and I had dr appointment and i have ear infection. Dr tried fobbing me off told me Hope not allergic to egg that it was selimella (sp?). I had to explain that it happened before that it was hives that two seprate dr had confirmed this and that i wanted her tested. I had to repeat it before he refered her.

Then the repair guy finialy fixed my machine.

Air had a good day at school and its his school play tomoro so dh is off and we are having pizza for tea tonight.

So a good day so far lol

I am not Envy of all the new babies, no im not. Dh should be clear of swimmers on New Years Eve so im planing to take full advantage of him next year Xmas Grin

MissChristmastRee · 11/12/2012 19:05

So I have chest infection and throat infection and a bumper pack of antibiotics. Bob only knows how I managed to drag myself into work this morning but I now feel like I've been hit by a bus!

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 11/12/2012 19:25

Evening all. On iPhone app so sorry I can't name names as it won't let me see the thread.

Dietician went well. Sky been confirmed with Cows Milk Allergy. Protein mainly. We have been given advice on how to deal with it and what foods to give etc. Also has eczema now too, so GP has prescribed steroid & emollient cream for her. Apparently common with this allergy. Also need to make a food diary to watch symptoms for Gluten & Wheat and then let dietician know her trends.

Other than that all okay today x

NorthernChinchilla · 11/12/2012 20:05

Ooooh, congratulations Kat! Can't believe we're (that's the royal we, y'know, the thread Xmas Grin) on baby 3.

Have just explained to DP about what defines 'broody'. I explained how weirdly before having DS I wasn't broody: looking at babies in prams is not broody. I now know the difference as I ache for another and am tempted to steal one.... Happily I know we'll go for another, and my rational brain is happy to wait for a while.
Sorry your DH isn't on board figgy; is there anything you can compromise on, or do to reassure him to get him to agree?

Poor you Xiao, you feel that at least when you go out the LOs should know, and should give us a lie in, but it's invariably those nights when they are ill/won't sleep/want to play at 5am.

And doubly poor you MissRee, should you be dragging yourself in if you're that ill? I'd at least give yourself a couple of days, as just the first day or two of the anti-bs can knock you sideways, never mind what they're trying to cure Xmas Confused!

And don't worry aethel, the junk breeding bogie-man lives here too, or at least his second cousin...

DS did a trouser-filler at nursery today, truly immense. To the extent that they had to bathe him Xmas Smile, first time ever. Which meant they also got to see how much DS loves baths and how much he objects to being removed from them!

Our guest is now staying over...not that he's arrived yet, and so we haven't eaten, and it's DS's birthday tomorrow. It's a bit Hmm.

LittleMissKitschmas · 11/12/2012 20:22

We've got a junk-breeder too. It's a well spread family. I think I have the crazy cat lady granny here:o

jigglebum · 11/12/2012 21:19

Congrats kat- hope you are feeling well.
No broodiness here at all ! Two is definitely it for us.

It was Freya's birthday today. She decided to see it in by being up between 11 and 1 am! We had a nice but not that eventful day as she had a party on Saturday. We did all the things she likes - swimming, seeing christmas lights at the garden centre, going to the swings and lunch at a play cafe. Ds opened all her presents on her behalf and probably played with them more too!

My first school christmas play tomorrow with DS- will try not to cry! (thank god I m not pregnant!)

Last day of work for me until 7th Jan tomorrow!

mopsytop · 11/12/2012 21:53

Hi all sorry very me me me post but I'm SO tired from staying up till 2am working the getting up at 6.40 to feed/dress me and baby then straight back to thesis when she's at nursery. Husband being amazing and doing everything round the house/picking up minimopsy from nursery and doing all housework but I just feel like I'll never ever ever finish this damn thesis. Never felt so tired/stressed before :( Job interview on Friday just adding to the stress - feeling overwhelmed. Sorry for all the poorly people hope you improve soon, happy birthday Boi, hi everyone else will catch up in January

NorthernChinchilla · 11/12/2012 22:05

I know it doesn't feel like it but it WILL be worth it in the end mopsy. Good luck for Friday too.

I think the junk-breeder's dog lives specifically in DP's games room....

Well, our guest has arrived, at fucking 10pm. Thank God we ate dinner earlier and left his. Not impressed.

OiMissus · 12/12/2012 05:54

I'll never catch up!
BOi had a fab birthday. Orlando was good. On way to Germany now. Last trip before Xmas thank goodness! Just one night away.
I take it kat is pg?! Hurrah!
I'm sorely tempted to start trying...

OiMissus · 12/12/2012 06:28

Actually, I 'Spose the amount of time I spend away from home means I should consult with DH first!! He's not complained. He's sighed a couple if times. And he's not a particularly happy fella. Maybe I should find a nice Swedish au pair... Someone to keep the house happy when I'm not here.
I don't suppose you get many au pairs wanting to work in sunny Bolton. The bright lights ain't so bright here.
But it'd be great to get someone with an interesting language...

MissChristmastRee · 12/12/2012 07:21

Happy birthday for yesterday other Freya! Grin

Happy birthday for today MiniChinny Grin

I have given in and called in sick today but sent Freya off to Nanny's anyway so I can try and get some rest. I feel absolutely dreadful.

OiMissus · 12/12/2012 09:04

There be snow in Dusseldorf. So there be no taxi as he's stuck in traffic. Should be good for a mulled wine at the crimble market later! But perhaps not so good for my flight home tomorrow... Hmmm.
Happy birthday to our birthday babies!
One whole year. Incredible, eh?
BOi is walking 100% of the time now. Knees no more!

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 12/12/2012 10:35

Happy Birthday to Freya for yesterday.

Happy Birthday to MiniChinny

Oi Hope you don't get stuck in Germany with all the snow.

Sky knows the sounds a dog makes - Proud mummy Xmas Grin

Am doing my normal online shop with Sainsbos, but looking at a lot of milk free products!

KateKringle · 12/12/2012 10:55

Happy birthday to all birthday babies. That year has flown by!

Have a good rest missRee, it sounds like you need it. I'm v pleased to hear you didn't try to go to work or look after Freya today.

Glad you've got a diagnosis for Sky DSM. I'm taking DS to see Dr this afternoon. Hoping we can get to the bottom of his incredibly sore dry skin, constipation and poor eating.
