I loved kate's thread name but thought we needed a birthday theme for this one. We'll soon have 6 weeks of birthdays to celebrate!

OiMissus · 17/11/2012 18:06

Oh and he did not appreciate the Teetha gel. Sad

LittleMissFlustered · 17/11/2012 18:27

We tried to procure some cruising feets for toddler groups etc. today, but he was having none of it:( he has fat little 2.5 h feet >_<

I'm coping. Having Boo issues. Need to get to speak to a GP, or kids, or camhs:( school are being chocolate fireguardesque, and the school nurse team not much better. Feel like I'm failing him:(

OiMissus · 17/11/2012 19:01

We have sleep and a temp of 37.9, so a bit better.
We have 4h feet - or did 4 weeks ago.
What's with Boo? Hope you're ok.

AnAirOfHopeForSnow · 17/11/2012 19:18

Hope boo is ok, sending posative vibs that things get sorted for you both.

Hope just stood up and took her first step - on top of a table in a pub Blush

We were having dinner out with Inlaws and they let her cralw on table to me (with me panicing she was going to fall off) and she just stood up and walked to me Grin

But now i think its an omen for her being a flossy and dancing on pub tables when she is older totally not like her mum oh no Hmm

DS has been like that all week too Oi temperature was up and down and very unsettled and clingy. I assumed it was teething but took him to the doctors in the end as he was clearly not himself and it turned out to be tonsilitis. Antibiotics have cleared it right up. I know it may be something completely different for Boi but might be worth getting the doctor to check him over if it carries on.

LittleMissFlustered · 17/11/2012 19:37

Huzzah for walking and reducing fevers:)

Boo has mood issues, and general odd boy issues. I tried to get some help through the school nurses. They've been useless:( Going to try my GP next. There's a vague possibility that he could have spectrum disorder. Though equally he could just be a prat:( I'm just not coping too well at the minute, so either way we need a bit of support.

AnAirOfHopeForSnow · 17/11/2012 19:52

Lfm how old is boo?

Oi my rule of thumb is if the temp last two days take to doctors. With air it normally just a viral infection that they cant do anything about but it stops me worrying too much.

Aethelfleda · 17/11/2012 19:53

Good luck lmf, sounds like you're being very sensible. Vent here if it helps, we're all about and have neverending virtual coffeepots!

oi received wisdom over this way is that while teething can cause sore botty, drool-a-go-go and disturbed sleep/general grumping, it can only cause a low grade temp (37.5-37.7 tops) a temp of 38 plus can't be pure teething, more likely he's picked up a virus or a throat/ear infection. If it keeps coming back when the calpol/ibuprofen wears off or it you have trouble getting it back down below 38 then get ye to the GP....

Am being subjected to the abject Dr Who/Sarah Jane ripoff that is Wizards Versus Aliens. Woe is me, it's a total clone without the good characters. They've even nicked the soundtrack orchestra.

LittleMissFlustered · 17/11/2012 20:06

It's another RTD vehicle isn't it Aethel?

I'll type more tomorrow perhaps. About to put the kids into their pits. Toying with going to my wn too, as I am officially exhausted. Not eaten properly today though, so am torn:/

AnAirOfHopeForSnow · 17/11/2012 20:06

Aaron is three (Four in Feb) and he is pushing the bountries currently by not listening to me or dh, jumping on me, hitting me, kicking, running off, he is constantly holding Hopes hands and squeesing them, if she crys he will jump on me or say he needs a wee or poo or needs me to stop me going to Hope and genraly being a pita.

Nothing i do seems to work with him and he just laughs at me when i take his toy away or put him on time out.

He doesnt tidy his toy or help. He is into avngers hulk spirderman ironman and keeps play fighting and climbing all the time.

He helps himself to food out of the kitchen and yesterday opened the front door to see if his gp were out side!

Its a fight to get him dressed for school in the afternoon and it takes me 45 minutes to get him dressed. He doesnt want a bath then he refuses to come out.

He has not made any close friendships in school and tonight refused to play in the sofeplay area because "he was scared of the mean man" then he went and played and refused to come out when we needed to leave.

When i ask him what hes done at school it nothing, nought or i cant remember. I have no idea what he does for the 15 hours a week he is there Confused

He wants new toys all the time and is just a spolit brat with an atturte problem at the momment :(

AnAirOfHopeForSnow · 17/11/2012 20:12

Reading that back its just me being a crap parent :(

OiMissus · 17/11/2012 21:32

Thanks for the advice aethel. And the warning bjr.
After the temp and delirious eyes, he slept, then woke and had his bottle, and now he's like a different BOi! I have my BOi back! It may not last long, but it's great seeing him back to normal - apart from the horrible cough.
lmf I don't know what spectrum disorder is, but what makes you think boo has it?

KateM77 · 17/11/2012 22:19

lmf my half brother has asperger's which wasn't diagnosed until he was 10. That was really too late for him to get the help he needed (a very long story). Keep fighting to get the help for boo that you want. The whole situation sounds really frustrating for you. We're all here with virtual support and vats of coffee.

NorthernChinchilla · 18/11/2012 05:01

Hmmm.... work do was actually quite nice, even wore heels (!) but for some obscure reason my body decided that on waking for a swig of water at 4am that it would be delightful to keep me awake.
Ping!
So here I am Hmm Will do a few odd jobs and MN...

air, I don't think it's you being a crap parent at all, I think we'll all have been, or will be in a position to post something like that at some point- it sounds like he's just pushing boundaries. As long as you're consistent, I'm sure it'll settle.

And I can well imagine that whatever's going on is multiplied to the power of '000000 by your lack of sleep LMF, if not significantly caused by it (for you that is). As for Boo, keep pushing. Have you been able to approach any of the charities or groups, national or local, that support people with autism? They may have some advice about how best to progress things, and/or be able to help you rule it out.

Think I may do a bit of finance filing and read Saturday's papers. And I bet anything that after a week of early waking, DS will choose today to lie in Confused!

CheungFun · 18/11/2012 06:38

Ugh! I think DS is having some sort of sleep regression :( he keeps waking up an hour after he's gone to sleep in the evening and waking up super early. I hope he gets back to his normal good sleeping soon. I'm seriously grumpy getting up at 5.30am!

Figgygal · 18/11/2012 07:24

Morning all DS decided he didn't want to go back to sleep this morning do he's destroying his bookshelves in his room and I have made a den on floor with all his soft toys as a pillow and lying here (not so) comfortably!!

Today is to be a pre Xmas lines at the post office eBay selling spree and sitting on arse drinking tea day!!

OiMissus · 18/11/2012 09:36

BOi is poorly. Bad cold and grumps. Sad however, he slept quite well last night. After a couple of nights practise, he just went back to sleep after waking coughing. When he woke at 5, very upset, I brought him into bed and he settled and snuggled in with us until 8. EIGHT!
He's drowsy. Has moments of smiles and sunshine, then goes back to sad whinging.Sad his temp is up and down. Was not interested in breakfast. Snot-tastic. We're rocking on Nurofen (he loves medicine!).
We'll just keep snuggling and checking and may go visit the doc tomorrow.
I'm off to France on Tuesday, until Friday. Sad I don't want to be away from my BOi when all is well, but especially not when he's miserable. SadSadSadSad

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 18/11/2012 10:21

Oi hope BOi feels better soon.

LittleMissFlustered · 18/11/2012 19:41

Hoping BOi has gone for a nice snooze:)

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 18/11/2012 19:53

I have one Little Lady who is so tired & not giving in easily Sad

NorthernChinchilla · 18/11/2012 19:56

Snap.

DS woke at half five and was really, really not himself- so whingey. When I eventually took him down I looked in his ear and it was not pretty. As soon as he was dosed up, he was absolutely back to normal. Told DP but he 'couldn't see anything' Hmm.
Anyhow, after we'd all had our various sleeps, we re-grouped and DS's ear was icky (TMI but it was like snot running out of there- I've never had or seen an ear problem so was quite surprised!) So off to OOH Doc's this afternoon, and we have a perforation/ruptured ear drum and LOTS of weepage. But no proper bacterial infection thankfully.
A week of antibiotics and keeping on top of the pain meds.... Doc said to keep him out of nursery if possible, but given that he's fine we'll see what they say. There's no temperature or fever, so we're hoping he'll be OK, but we'll need to see how he is on the anti-bs.

Hope BOi gets well soon Oi!

OiMissus · 18/11/2012 20:50

Poorly babes! No good!! Hope the anti b's kick in soon for you LO northern.
Ali's just gone down. He's had lots of sleep today, so it was no surprise. He hasn't eaten a thing today, but has drunk most of his milk. Oh and he had 2 frubes. He'll never turn down that gum-cooling tube of sugary goodness!

mopsytop · 18/11/2012 21:30

Oh dear Northern and Oi, hope your babies are better soon. So stressful and tiring.

Sorry haven't posted, been at MIL's and husband was out with his friends for a long planned day/night out, so I didn't really have time.

Right am going to write 1500 words before bed!

Oh and I had an article accepted. My first article. In an international, peer-reviewed journal. Yay! Has given me a bit of a confidence boost after the (harsh) rejection of the other article and made me feel that maybe my work isn't so terrible after all!

Aethelfleda · 18/11/2012 21:31

Hope all the poorly LO's get some rest, and mums too!

mopsytop · 18/11/2012 21:33

aww aethel, your teeny pink hose is so cute!
