Evening,

Glad wedding was great Londoner! Bet you looked fab!

Nova - LOL at 'thankfully we had a nap.....or I think I might have died'!!

L&Smum - Yes, wed's afternoon fine, you may have to text me though to remind me!

Cannot wait for tomorrow Grin But now I'm fretting about what to wear! I'm not going to be able to sleep! So excuse the eyebags tomorrow, bye! x x x

Rodeo · 17/04/2006 20:08

Tex, crossed post - you poor thing :( Hope you all get better soon. Fingers crossed for tomorrow, but we'll do it again in the Summer if you don't manage to get over. Hugs to you and the kiddos :)

Has anyone got a digital camera they could bring? I've got a camera on my phone but the quality's not brill! :)

beartime · 17/04/2006 20:57

Londoner - children and babies def. welcome at church, but when everyone is totally silent and listening intently, a very loud noise like Caleb's screeching sticks out quite a bit and can be just a bit distracting so i thought I'd better take him out!

Tex - i hope Rosie gets better soon and we do get to meet you Smile

JenJam · 17/04/2006 21:11

hello everyone. just a quickie to say i'm really looking forward to meeting up tomorrow - hope i'm still invited as i haven't been on planet mumsnet much over last few weeks

I was toying with the idea of making a cake but if you are like me, i'm feeling a bit off cake what with all the chocolate guilt over this weekend. strictly proper food for me.

Tex sorry to hear you and your little ones are sick, i hope you get some rest tonight.

see you all there! Jen

Karmamother · 17/04/2006 21:27

Hi all,

really sad that I'm not coming to the meet. Thanks to everyone for their supportive messages. Will definately try & make the summer one. A picnic in Hyde Park sounds fantastic.

GO, my DS is disappointed too. Wish I hadn't mentioned it to him now. Hope your DS isn't too bored without other male company.Smile

Beks, no probs after the phone call. Will give you a ring later in the week, is Wednesday evening ok? The christening sounded hilarious. They can always be relied upon to produce a timely poo. It's our turn in a few weeks time as one of the mums I've met is having her DS "done". Will remember to take extra nappies!

Tex, hope you all get better soon. I can't imagine how you're coping with all these bugs & 2 LOs.

Twinkle, wow, you could be our first to conceive again! Hope it's good news, whatever the outcome. Got a question for you about donating EBM. I was going to look into it myself. I'll be doing some bank shifts at the local hospital & once Ella is on solids, my milk requirements won't be as high so I thought about expressing & donating. The only thing is I work with lots of blood & therefore considered at risk of hep/hiv exposure. Will the hospital still take my milk?

Beartime, have you seen Biddulph's book, "Raising Boys"? I read it when I had DS & I was glad he was a Nov birth which meant he was older, IYSWIM, when he started school. My best friend's DH is a teacher & he said even at secondary school you can tell which boys are youngest, they take a long time to catch up.

Well, weaning coming along nicely. Sitting her in the Bumbo didn't work terribly well, she just slouched & I couldn't get it in! Now I sit her in her bouncy chair but must remember to hold on to it, otherwise she flings herself back & forth whilst I'm aiming at her gob.Shock I must admit, I'm enjoying feeding her my lovingly prepared veg.

Did someone mention hair loss? I was going to mention it myself. Mine is coming out in handfuls which I know is to be expected after childbirth. After DS I was extremely stressed & I went a bit bald. I had a long fringe to cover the new fringe growing back in underneath it.

Hope you all have a great time at the meet. Lots of pics please!

JenJam · 17/04/2006 21:32

rodeo re: what to wear! just count yourself lucky that you have more than one thing that fits you and looks nice.

okay i'm making ONE LAST AND FINAL CAKE for this special occasion - it'll be Nigella's chocolate orange cake - so don't eat anything fattening in the morning if you are planning on having a slice

Just told james about tomorrow and he looked quite glum about going back to work....he said

"awwww....maternity leave sounds really good fun; having a day off to go to the british museum to meet up with your mates"

he he

JenJam · 17/04/2006 21:37

sorry karma - crossed threads. sorry you can't make it tomorrow. picnic sounds like a great idea in summer.

tessasmum · 18/04/2006 07:16

Tex - not again! Poor you, hope you do make it but can see it being a bit tricky. Roll on the Summer and no bugs.

Jen - KWYM about chocolate overload, I got a serious sugar low yesterday and had to force myself to have a banana and some dried apricots to start to balance things out again Blush However there is no way that I will let that interfer(?) with cake Grin

Had a few bad nights here so I will be the haggard one both looking and feeling my age Grin
See some of you later.

babyonboard · 18/04/2006 08:49

morning all!

no time to read through as i'm dashing around..my brain is not functioning this morning..i just made a cafetiere with cold water lol and wondered why it hadn't diffused properly..bleurgh..

can't wait to se you all later!

goldenoldie · 18/04/2006 09:13

Just as well I checked - I was going to the British Library instead of the British Museum!

ChaCha · 18/04/2006 12:27

Hi ladies,

Hope you all have/or are having a great day out. We're just back from a long weekend away, had a much needed night out with DH and I didn't miss the LO as much as I thought I would. Felt like 'me' again and steered clear of baby chat over dinner :)

Will catch up with you all later. Nova - Will email you later if that's ok or will post on yahoo group.

See you all later - look fwd to meet up gossip! :)

Love M & Z

Karmamother · 18/04/2006 13:37

Just you & me, chacha? Smile Just like the antenatal thread!!Grin

novadandypowder · 18/04/2006 17:03

oooo I'm the first one to write after the meet-up.

Lovely to see you all, feel like I didn't get to have a 'proper' conversation with anyone.

Nat cheered up once we were on the way back to the car - think she just wanted my undivided attention.

JenJam - Thank you sooo much for the very delish cake

babyonboard · 18/04/2006 17:23

hi...obviously second to post after meet up
it was awful for me
sorry

babyonboard · 18/04/2006 17:26

sorry..sounds harsh..it was obviously lovelyto put faces to names

novadandypowder · 18/04/2006 17:52

BoB - unfortunately we'd all been there since 11ish (Diege since 9.30!), so we all needed to get babes home etc.. and we couldn't hang on any longer, sorry.

OP posts:
babyonboard · 18/04/2006 17:58

nova..you're right..
but we had a harsh time at the clinic before i arrived and i was feeling pretty emotional..so to come back from gtting a sandwich and drink to find everyone packing up and leaving wasn'tsogood..
i know i'm one of the 'londoners' but we spent 1 1/2hurs getting there..
then dp couldnt meet us as he's busyat work so we just shuffled off home

babyonboard · 18/04/2006 18:09

all of which is nothing to do with you guys of course..but i'm certain you could have stayed at least for me to have a chat with you all.....

JenJam · 18/04/2006 18:37

Hello everyone - I really enjoyed meeting up today - and seeing all your cutiepies. thanks to 'the northerners' for making the trek - hope journey home with baby was less fraught than one coming down!

T'was a good choice of venue - I shall be using that in future with a couple of local mums! Loads of space and good food; pat yourself on the back whoever suggested it.

Also love the idea of an outdoor venue in the summer....have a romantic notion of lying on lots of blankets; making one huge patchwork quilt between us and eating strawberries.

BoB - sorry there wasn't any time for us to chat (was very much looking forward to meeting you ever since those knitting patterns...) Hope you are not taking people leaving personally; We'd been in the same spot for quite a few hours by the time you arrived - you turned up as last few stragglers were naturally dispersing. I was going to hang on but it is impossible to get the buggy on the bus after 4 and felt I really ought to get F back as we are trying to get him into a kind of routine (at last we succumb)

Are you ok? What happened today at the baby clinic?

F is going into melt down - be off for a bit to do the bedtime thing, but be back on soon before dinner

JenJam · 18/04/2006 18:38

well when i say good food. I mean as good and inexpensive as you can expect in a museum. right really must go

BEKsmum · 18/04/2006 20:12

Hi girls

Relaly great to meet you all today. Thanks to Rodeo & Diege for making the long trip down south.

Rodeo sorry I didn't say goodbye but I knew if I didn't get off Ben would have started to play up, so wanted to leave on a high!

Hope your trips home were all ok.

Nova sorry very rude of me, I didn't say thanks to you for holding Thomas while I ate my sandwich, it was lovely to eat a whole roll without juggling one or the other Smile

Jenjam thanks for the yummy cake.

Managed to get back & drive over to Clapham so Thomas & Ben are now the proud owners of an 8ft trampoline - we've just got to put it together now.

Chacha glad you had a nice weekend away and enjoyed your night out - makes you feel like a new woman doesn't it!

Tex hope you are all feeling better soon, Ben would like to know if you, Toby & Rosie would like to come over to us to play when you are all feeling better as he was really looking forward to seeing Toby again Smile

Those not present today were sorely missed.

Right best go as Thomas is in meltdown Beks

Tex111 · 18/04/2006 20:31

Glad you guys had a great time. I spent the day feeling sorry for myself and eating Rosie's Easter eggs. I'm feeling a bit better but both children are still quite ill. Dh left for the States this afternoon so I've just pulled up the drawbridge and worn out the DVD player. Power Rangers anyone??

BEKS, that would be fantastic. I still have Ben's birthday present in the bag I packed for today. I was optimistic last night and my bag is still by the front door all ready to go. Sad

OK, let's hear all the gossip and details!! BoB, sounds like you had a dreadful day. What happened at the clinic? We must plan another meet up in the summer. One of the parks would be fantastic.

Tex111 · 18/04/2006 20:35

Just saw they're organising a MN picnic on 9 July at Hyde Park!

goldenoldie · 18/04/2006 20:50

Nice to see you all today. What a nice bunch of mummies and well behaved babies! Ben was a star too.

It felt so strange trying to call you all by your 'real' names. So much more comfortable to stick to the mumsnet handles..........

Echo the good venue choice. Will be perfect for screaming toddlers running up and down in a couple of years too.

BoB - sorry I went just as you arrived. I had finally run out of milk/bottles and needed to get home before their next feed. Look forward to having a proper chat with you next time.

Big thanks to Rodeo and Diege for treking down to the big smoke.

And Diege - you are just too glam (bring back the bluestockings............!). Everytime I get the ironing out from now on I will be thinking of you know who!!!

Londoner · 18/04/2006 20:54

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey!Smile

It was so lovely to see you all today, but the time went far far too quickly and I felt like stamping my foot and saying "Nooo! I want to spend some more time with these people."
Diege, Rodeo, Tess, Beartime - what a valiant bunch you are travelling all that way to meet up, I hope you mean it when you say you'll come again... lying down with strawberries in Hyde Park sounds blissful....
Nova, you crazy lady in your car....
Golden - who makes having twins look easy... while still looking glamorous...
LilJ and your brilliant baby with the crazy swirl hair-do...
BEKs your boys are just gorgeous, you always seem so able - did you get that trampoline?
Diege, so glamorous and I'm left with an image of Libby sitting on the table in her little Monsoon outfit...
Jen - that cake was utterly divine, and that baby too...

Oh no, Elizabeth is cryingShock, better go

Thank you all for a lovely timeSmile........
