Thinking of you all In the ILike house tonight.

Dh and I have fallen out. I'm not entirely sure what about Nd its most likely caused by the fact B was awake until 3 am this morning meaning we havent had much sleep. Dh got a bit tetchy with B as he struggled to get hi. Dressed after his bath, so I thought I'd go and relieve him because he sounded stressed. Now he thinks I think he might have Lost his temper with him if i hadnt gone up. Which is not what I think at all. I thought I was helping.

I know it's because we are tired, but I feel like shit. Plus he's feeling guilty because his train was cancelled at the last minute tonight and instead of letting me know so I could leave work early to pick b up at normal time he just didn't bother letting anyone know he was going to be 20 minutes late to pick him up. So I've had to profusely apologise to a pissed off childminder and dh is pissed off because I'm pissed off she's pissed off. I don't want her to think we are taking the mick as she is good when it comes to having him extra if need be and I dropped hi. Early today because work have this ridiculous new parking rota thing that means we have to park miles away and be shuttle bussed back to the building I work in. If I were her I'd be pissed off too.

Jeez, sorry for the rant, and the typos. I'm heading to bed I think!

Kittycatcat · 07/11/2012 22:13

Rant away fizz. Is everything ok now? You'll feel better after a good nights sleep which I hope you get. Dh told me to calm down in the night. He's lucky I didn't punch him. I'd been up two hours at that point.

GlaikitFizzog · 08/11/2012 13:20

sorry again! Everything seemed much worse last night! I had all sorts going through my head. Spoke to childminder today and she is fine with us. Assured me yesterday was ok and she's just had a bad week because she can't say no to people. But I've already started the ball rolling to change my hours so I'm not finishing so late in the evenings because even picking b up at six he has already started to get grumpy and we are in the door and he's wanting his milk and bed. It's not fair on him.

Dh reacts worse than me to losing sleep, so that's explains his demeanour last night. We'll have a prop cht about everything over the weekend and well be fine.

B has done his best Rambo impression again today and took a header across the nursery playground this morning. Resulting in a nose that would give rudolf a run for his money and another bump on his forehead! He must have been a kamikaze in a previous life!!

Kittycatcat · 08/11/2012 13:33

No need for apologies.

I've got a lady from the children's centre coming round to teach me baby massage at 2.

Think S is over his bug. Whoop.

Kittycatcat · 08/11/2012 15:52

Baby massage lady 'these houses are small aren't they-my flats about the same size'. RUDE.

fraktion · 08/11/2012 16:21

Very! Hope the actual massaging was good though, kitty

Poor you, fizz you sounded very stressed last night. Glad things are a bit better now. Your description of B made me smile which is terrible, I know, but I know exactly the kind of move you're talking about.

Why do houses get so messy? Why is there so much laundry? Why are we still not unpacked and moved in? Why did I agree to go away next week instead of insisting we go and buy bookshelves etc?!

Kittycatcat · 08/11/2012 17:02

Meh. a had a grump. We did a leg and his tummy. I fed him and he pood, then was fine but time was up. She's back next week.

I was just saying this am will our house ever be tidy again!

Think we are going to the zoo tomorrow. Can't wait Grin

GlaikitFizzog · 08/11/2012 17:45

See I wasn't very tidy before B so it doesn't seem too different to me!

I was stressed last night but that was lack of sleep talking! B has been a grump since he woke from his nap. Skyped my sister and he screamed the whole time so we cut that short! Dh will be home soon so I can leave him to get tea ready for us! We are having some Jake and the Nederland pirates time! I would really like some of that pixie dust! :)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/11/2012 18:15

Fizz we've just been watching Jake here, while the boys eat a Happy Meal each.

Grin

I am poorly, DS1 is knackered from a mega busy day and I fell asleep this afternoon while T napped before the school run instead of sorting out the kitchen and sorting something for tea.

DH and I have daft rows about things when we're sleep deprived like that, and it all feels a mountain and then is better after some sleep!

kitty - fuck me that is immensely rude! Shock

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 08/11/2012 20:41

Sorry you're feeling rubbish Ali.

And rant it out any time, Fizz! It's good for you.

I've just tried the 5minute mug cake... Oh My God how on earth have I lived for so long without this?! I just wish we had some cream or custard to go with it.

Man, that hits the spot...

fraktion · 08/11/2012 21:00

I have a bowl of that right now UBW

Hugs needed all round I think.

I'm getting fed up again, DH is travelling so much and I'm shit when he's in and out, dropping off dirty laundry, making mess and leaving, whinging that he's tired from travelling. If he'd deployed I'm fine, but I can't cope with the hassle without the support and his bloody sense of duty!!!! He better be lining himself up for a nice well paid job for when he comes out. I can cope with this if they triple his salary Wink

Kittycatcat · 08/11/2012 21:25

Sending big hugs xx

fraktion · 08/11/2012 21:44

:)

My mother just managed to stress me hugely over car seats. I know I'm fanatical about car safety but she wants to put M into some cheapy own brand mothercare seat because he'll only use it occasionally. Yes, ok, cost per use etc BUT we drive to and from Heathrow on the M4 with manic lorry drivers. I'm not risking it!

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 08/11/2012 23:31

I get you, Frak, and a decent one isn't that expensive in the grand scheme of things.

We bought a birth-4 extended rear facing one...

...And now have in forward facing in the middle to try to reduce the vom.

I spose we've got it in case we have a second...!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/11/2012 23:58

Frak I always find it bizarre that people look to save money on car seats, while spending fairly indiscriminately on other things - you see threads about it from time to time. Not saying that is what your mother is doing, but it is the last area you look to cut corners, surely!

I can't get to sleep, my sinuses are killing me. I only get this with colds since I've got older, what is that about?

What is everyone buying for the DCs for Christmas? We have tons of ideas for DS1, but we're a bit stuck for T - except Thomas the Tank Engine things.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 09/11/2012 00:02

Ah, the Thomas obsession has arrived here too.

We were thinking of a play kitchen and/or cars & road mat. And some Thomas stuff...

Kittycatcat · 09/11/2012 03:11

_Ali get some sudafed. It's a great decongestant.

We have bought S a cleaning trolley Winkit's a zanussi one from ELC. Was half price with a further 10% off. Also got me a happy land castle and police station and etch a sketch from an nct sale. My mum has bought him a sling bookcase that matches his toy box. She's got A his own toyboxes that matches s's.

.

GlaikitFizzog · 09/11/2012 06:53

Play tent and tunnel should be arriving today! Some wooden blocks, arts and craft stuff. My parents are buying him his own armchair Hmm dsis has said she has got him a drum kit HmmHmm dbro asked if he was too young for an iPod!! I worry sometimes about him!

Starshaped · 09/11/2012 07:06

Don't laugh at the armchair Fizz - we have one here and DD loves it!

I'm trying not to go overboard this Christmas. I've bought some Happyland stuff, books and art and craft materials.

GlaikitFizzog · 09/11/2012 07:22

I know, he will love it, but she first wanted to get a chesterfield style leather one that wouldn't go with anything in our house! We have settled on an animal print one with removable covers!

Starshaped · 09/11/2012 07:25

Haha brilliant! Ours is a cheapo Ikea jobbie. Yours sounds like something more special! Where do you even buy a miniature leather Chesterfield couch?!? Confused

GlaikitFizzog · 09/11/2012 07:26

Wait a mo and I'll get the link!

Cyclebump · 09/11/2012 07:35

Hi all, I've been offline for months as the parent group and life in general is keeping me waaaaaay busy!
