Poor you and B, Fizz. A lot of babies vomit when they have mucusy colds and coughs. Hopefully his cough will go soon.

Glad to hear you're feeling better MrsW. I have found putting the boys to bed late has never worked either, and they also wake up earlier the next morning - aaarrrggghh. Unfortunately you have to find what works for your lo. I've found they have phases of waking early, so no, I don't think this is your lot!

Talking to other parents most children seem to settle into a more predictable sleep pattern by the time they are two. I also just accept that I won't get long lazy lie-ins whilst I have young children and dh and I take turns at getting up with them. I also go to bed early! Although I imagine doing shift work interferes with your sleep patterns too.

I hope last night improved for you kitty. it's tough when you do it on your own. It's when I have times like that that I realise how amazing lone parents are.

It's raining here today, so I have no idea what we are going to get up to today.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/11/2012 08:19

Oh and the FB friend is a pole dancing teacher Grin

Kittycatcat · 04/11/2012 09:03

Absolutely hissing down here and has all night. Ended up bringing s in with us. Dh not much use when he got in. Incoherent. Then I couldn't wake him so had to get S myself. He did try getting up with s when he woke inconsolable. But s wasn't having it so both back to bed but s wouldn't settle. I eventually lost it and said as he was crying to put him back in his cot. Dh said really? So I lost my rag and put s back myself. Dh then cuddled up to me and got ignored. Then A decided he didnt want to be in his cot. S screamed and cried himself back to sleep and is still there. I hope he's ok. This is one he of a lay in. I'm worried but dh useless and I'm stuck feeding A.

Daisy17 · 04/11/2012 13:13

Hugs, Kitty. X.

fraktion · 04/11/2012 15:19

It'll be fine. It was one bad night but you've all come through it intact :)

MrsW 10.30 is late even by my reset standards! What time dies at go down in the evening?

Sniggering quietly at the idea of a sleepy Suffolk village pole dance teacher. I just can't stop imaging old ladies and middle-aged housewives surreptitiously queuing up for lessons in floral pinnies. I'm sure it was the other kind of stir though Grin

DH has buggered of for a week now. Lucky sod.

I have a dilemma. You might remember I landed myself with organising the church parenting group. The next meeting is in ablut 10 days but we still don't have anyone to host it or prep the questions as the mum who was going to do it now won't be there. So I suggested moving the date which got mixed responses. The thing is I now have a meeting I should attend, in Reading, that's lunchtime which is a precursor to meetings with Liz Truss et al. So there is no way I can get back to Normandy for that meeting. I can either abuse my position and say we are moving it because it's convenient for me or I can not go to this meeting which would make me very unpopular indeed. Neither is a particularly palatable suggestion.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/11/2012 21:26

If you are the one organising it Frakk, change the date. The meeting would be a bit pointless without you wouldn't it?

Sounds like a shit night from hell Kitty,i hope today got better for you all.

MrsWajs · 04/11/2012 23:45

Hmm frak maybe i kept her up too late and she was overtired so didn't sleep well!? Normal bed time is about 7.30!
However having said that DP and R stayed at my mum & dads last night while i was working and she woke at 6.30 but everyone ignored her so she went back to sleep til 8.30!! So, tomorrows plan is to try ignorance!!

Your night sounds terrible kitty hope tonights better and that DH is of more use!

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 04/11/2012 23:48

Boo. Half term is over. Alarm is set for 5:45.

Let's hope F lets me sleep tonight.

Kittycatcat · 05/11/2012 03:30

I've just woken up with A sprawled awkwardly in my arms where he must have fallen after his last feed, I'm worried he's going to get hurt. We've got the appt for his toes this morning.
S woke once so far. Dh checked on him and he was the wrong way round in the cot. He's settled since. Fingers crossed for the rest of the night.

Good luck mrsw

I say move the meeting frak.

GlaikitFizzog · 05/11/2012 08:36

We ignore MrsW, unless he is screaming. Pathetic whining usual ends up with him going back to sleep. This mornin the heard dh get up for work at 6.30. He dadadadadada'd for a wee while and he went back to sleep until 8! Much more sociable.

Although his toy of choice this. Or ing is my, which now appears to be his Confused, tambourine.

Kittycatcat · 05/11/2012 12:06

Back from toe appt. All ok. We go back in two years. I said what to look out for he said sometimes the toes bend. I said mine do that. Let's have a look he said. So I have mild webbing to the same toes as A. 37 years old and never knew.

MrsWajs · 05/11/2012 19:51

If it was just a bit of whining Fizz I'd easily let her get on with it but she seems to be going through a phase of just waking up full on crying :( Today was a slightly more respectable 7.15 so shouldn't complain but I didn't get to sleep til half 12 as she was awake at midnight and needing settled.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/11/2012 20:18

Kitty Smile Does that make you feel better about it all?
How's the scar?

T is a horror for waking at 5ish and wanting to chat for an hour, then go back to sleep. Seems to be a bit better recently, although we had thr most horrific night with him Saturday because he was bunged up and wheezing Sad

What do you lot do about discipline? T feels too young to start with time out, but he is getting wilfully naughty. We go with distraction mostly, but there isn't always time when I'm rushing to get DS1 somewhere or go and pick him up.

Kittycatcat · 05/11/2012 20:23

It really does ali. I felt like I'd done something wrong. I think the scar is as good as it'll get now.

I do form no cos he's too young to understand the step but I'll do that as soon as he can. I also ignore him at times.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/11/2012 21:31

Glad you feel better about the toes Kitty Do you know who you get it from, and therefore can blame?!

Ali - I always say no where necessary, but swiftly move on to distraction as at the moment saying no doesn't stop him. I've never got on with the naughty step, but I know it works for others when the children are older. Distraction and praising good behaviour and mostly ignoring undesirable behaviour seem to work best for us. How is ds1 doing at school? Settling in ok I hope Smile

Ds3 has done the odd 5 & 6am wake ups. Luckily he quickly goes back to sleep with just a cuddle. I think he gets cold and that wakes him up. Grobag have just started selling a 3.5tog bag, but it's £40. That is a bloody criminal amount - and I can fritter money with the best of them.

Kittycatcat · 06/11/2012 00:04

Um no not really. I don't know my dad and I'm guessing that's where it's from.

Kittycatcat · 06/11/2012 12:24

S has a tummy bug Sad. Got doc to look at my scar and it's all healed Grin

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 06/11/2012 12:53

kitty - yay for a healed scar! Boo for tummy bug :(

I do try ignoring, but he wrecks the house! I will have to just persevere with 'no' and distraction for now. He is getting slightly better at amusing himself with toys rather than by destroying the house Grin

DS1 is settling really well ILike :) He loves school, has made new friends, and has really come on well with drawing/writing/art/craft which is not something he was ever interested in doing either at home or at preschool, so we're really pleased. School seem to understand him which is probably the most important thing!
We have just embarked on the reading scheme, and I am determined to like the characters because I'm going to be hearing about them for the next 5 years or so by the time T is done with them Grin

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/11/2012 13:47

It's not Biff & Chip is it? The early years books are sooooooooo bloody boring, the plots are terrible Grin Glad to hear he's doing well. M seems to be really coming to his own at pre school this year. It's lovely to watch isn't it, your baby finding their own way in the world

Yay for scar healing, boo for stomach bug. There are so many annoying bugs about. Either ds3 has had a constant cold for a fortnight or he has had about 3 colds on the trot.

It's proper chilly here today, we had the first frost of the season. I love this time of year Grin

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 06/11/2012 13:52

yy - Biff, Chip and Kipper. Or Kip and Chipper as I keep calling them by mistake Grin

It is lovely Grin Glad M is coming into his own too :) So cute to watch them with their friends. DS1 has developed this habit of going up and clapping his male friends on the shoulder when he greets them, which makes him look 4 going on 40 Grin

Right that is enough PFB waffling from me for today Blush

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/11/2012 14:16

Waffle away Ali Smile

chillikat · 06/11/2012 14:54

Aahhh :) just time for a quick brew and MN before another viewer arrives. This is no/2 this week and another booked for Thursday. Had someone round for a 2nd view on Saturday who seems really keen. And now we think we've found somewhere but we're worried it'll go before we get an offer.

Not much other news here.

Glad the scar is healed Kitty :)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 06/11/2012 15:14

ILike incase I don't post tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you all ((hug))

Kittycatcat · 07/11/2012 03:49

Well isn't this fun. I've been up with A since 1250.

Thinking of you today ilike

fraktion · 07/11/2012 08:24
