Morning all. DS has finally gone down for his nap, so I can post. Sheesh, but that child runs me, and everyone else, ragged- he's just on the go and ferretting at everything all the time.


It's 'Lazy Sunday' blend this morning, Taylor's. The course sounds really interesting, which period of history is it? I definitely think you're best just asking them about it all, they tend to know what's what but can't put it into the prospectus or anything, and the lecturers are 99% of the time happy to sit and discuss it all. Also, it may be that although it's not part time, the amount of time you're required to be in Uni actually in seminars and lectures is pretty minimal, so you could still manage it.

Good for you Kate, they can be total b'stards about it all. We were in the odd position that it was our landlord's agents that tried to diddle us out of our deposit, but because we were in direct contact with the landlord, we approached them and they forced the agent to give us our money back !

Hope the viewings go well aethel, and have fun with the ferret racing figgy, sounds awesome.

St Lucia looks beautiful DSM, utterly gorgeous. I often say I'd consider getting married if only because I could wrangle an exotic holiday out it ! I really want to go to either anywhere in Asia, for the history, and just spend weeks going round temples and whatnot, or for luxury, Hawaii.... But do put some pics on of your tanned self, so I can get some vicarious pleasure!

Sounds tough MissRee- going back to work is hard enough but having to literally work twice as hard is a bit off.

This weekend we are mainly having to go to the shops. We need to do the food shop, the pet food shop, and to go to Bluewater so DP can get his watchstrap sorted. But it's fine with me, it's been a knackering week, what with DP's job stuff, and the car exploding (long story, fixed now). Oh, and my Mum has knitted DS a new cardie which will arrive this morning, so may even take a pic and upload it, as I've got nothing of him in recent months on my profile

I have signed up to be a breastfeeding peer support

Aaron is loving school and has made lots of new friends.

Hope enjoyed the play group yeasterday and did lots of crawling and standing and talking.

Hope is in 6 - 9 month old clothes as she is tiny but i have got her 9 - 12 in winter clothes as we walk to school and she is sat in pushchair. I just need to buy cosytoes now.

We're still pretty much in 3-6 month clothes! Some if her 6-9 fit her but they're stupidly long in the arms and her 6-9 dresses look like tents

Good luck with uni LMF I sometimes wish I'd gone for something specific rather than falling into a job on leaving school!

Seb was wearing a newborn t-shirt yesterday. Fits him perfectly around the shoulders/torso but a bit too short. Will be washed and packed away. Sizing is indeed crazy.

I also find myself in the position that all his 3-6 month trousers now fit perfectly round the waist but are all too short. And for some reason I haven't got any 6-9 month trousers. Just 9-12 month. Which you could fit two of him into.

Thank Bob we're up in Manchester next week. The giant h&m in town, the gap and m&s outlets at the lowry will be gaining some of DH's hard earned cash.

But the chocolate hobnobs are laced with proplus if that's any help?

Most of DS's clothes are 6-9 and 9-12 months with the occasional large 3-6 t shirt in the mix. He has a big cloth bum so most of his trousers are tracky bottoms or dungarees. Slim fitted trousers are not very compatible with cloth bums!

we just got a new flat screen tv and blueray as ours were on the way out for months now and i want to get a wii for xmas for air but i want the fitness games

He has been watching iron man cartoons all day but in HD lol

Sounds like you're going to go for it then LMF? Really hope it's do-able, let us know what happens- but fingers crossed for you.

That's cool air; the peer support person at the group I went to was lovely- mind you, the only two things I could think were that she looked very well for having four kids in short succession (and looked no older than 35, max, possibly my age) and had amazingly long fake nails for dealing with four kids- can't forget them !
But that's a great thing to do- will it be at the local Sure Start?

And Freya will still look cute even if in a tent . How're you feeling with the tiredness MissRee, is it subsiding a little now, or still knackering you out?

We've got the weekly shop done, pet food shopping done, and we took DS for a quick trip up to the park. He loves going on the swings, laughs like a drain, it's hilarious.
Have made up a leek, potato, parsnip and ham soup for dinner, and am putting some aside for DS- will hopefully have more success with something that's non-tomato-y. He wolfed his meal at lunchtime, and it was the one homemade thing without it in, and he's getting into the routine (as it's what nursery do) of having his hot meal in the middle of the day.

The bfps people here are more like a social group and have power strugles so it should be fun watching the show as i refuse to compete. But most of the other women are really nice and i get to meet new people and help so im sure it will be ok

Our meet is in a coffee shop, and is mostly just a natter. When someone new joins we do our best to communally help, then get on with the cake eating.

I will do a 10 week course then 6 months in baby group at sure centre and then a year on the ward and then i can do antinatle classes or run a group. I will also do a day a week on phone duty. But the course will only go ahead if they get funding but they should be ok till march.

Bleurgh 5.15 wake up due to lots of coughing and a poo nappy then 6.45 wake up as he'd decided it was play time he's now sitting on floor eating his daddy's slippers. We have a no tv rule b4 8 so that slipper is in trouble.

Ali was sick maxi-vomitus last night. DH was trying to get him to sleep, whilst I ate dinner. As soon as I'd finished, I took over. Within a second he had vomited all over me. We were covered. Back, front, sides... We stank! but the bath was fun, and he was absolutely fine.

DD hit DS in the face with a car this morning. After i said no and took it off her DH helpfully suggested putting her in the playpen as 'punishment', she's 10 months old FGS!

We have visited the jeweller's to get DP's watch sorted, and now am watching the footie having munched a BLT. DS has rejected his mother's lovingly made root veg and ham soup, and his father's offer of tuna sandwiches, in favour of poncing several Wotsits off me .

Will try cooking up some food for him this afternoon and hope he'll go for it...sigh.

DPs are slightly mad aren't they seven - mine suggested the reason DS bounced his chin off the table was 'because I was holding onto his hand and unbalancing him'

oi that brings back memories of when DS was little and had reflux. I would get covered in vomit like that a few times a week, or on a bad day, several times I day. I perfected the art of the instantly stripping before the vomit got through to my skin

We had a lovely day yesterday, did some winter clothes shopping for the DCs in the morning then FIL came over with nearly 2yo DNephew in the afternoon, as he was babysitting him. DNephew very well-behaved but we had to closely supervise FIL who has no sense of safety, thought pushing the pushchair into traffic and bouncing it over cobbles was funny, and left DN to toddle around in a big, busy playground without keeping a proper eye on him. It was fine as DH and I took over and made sure DN was safe, and he had great fun and we didn't mind at all (he is mega cute and lovely) but was a bit at what could have happened if FIL had gone on his own! DS was also mega cute and gave him lots of cuddles and kisses and kept bending over him solicitously and saying "is DN happy?" "Is DN OK?" was very proud!

Then we had the night from hell as DD kept me up from midnight to 5am. Aaarrrggghhh! I thought we were finally getting somewhere but she's worse than ever now.
