Teeth: no rinsing, you wash the fluoride away and it reduces the efficacy of the brushing:)

Octoboy will surf for any food, a guess a victory 'ha!' If he manages to score something that wa originally somebody else's:o

Hoppy Burpday Jiggle!

Xiaoxiong · 11/10/2012 10:39

Happy birthday jiggle! I hope you get some fun today. I'm going to post about some of my own haddock-related incidents on that relationship thread as no one has yet posted anything and it looks sad and lonely, and I'm interested to see what the Relate counselor says.

Toothbrushing - we brush after 7pm bottle (no rinsing), but not after dream breastfeed. Then we brush again after morning breast-feed but before breakfast. We put a smear of toothpaste on the brush, let him start to chew the brush and then move it around to try and get all his teeth and gums and tongue as he chews. First couple of times he was extremely uncooperative but I think he's getting the hang of it - he seems to enjoy it now! Helps if he sees one of us brushing at the same time. Oi could you get the Brushbaby applemint stuff? It doesn't look, smell or have the texture of toothpaste and might get you through the boak factor.

Eating - Oi DS does exactly that same thing to me with his mouth wide open! It's cute but so slobbery. Anyway we are going through a mega-appetite phase according to the nanny. Yesterday he had (she wrote it all down):

  • morning breastfeed
  • two yoghurts, a pot of stewed fruit and 200g of porridge
  • 210ml bottle mid-morning
  • 190g savoury pouch, 190g oaty crumble pouch, a yoghurt and toyed with some cut-up veg
  • 210ml bottle mid-afternoon
  • 190g of home-made chicken and veg risotto, 2 yoghurts, cut-up veg
  • 210ml bottle before bed
  • dream breastfeed!!

There's a reason we call him dumpling boy Hmm

Xiaoxiong · 11/10/2012 10:42

(Just to reassure, over the weekend he seemed to exist on a diet of air, crayon wax, carpet lint and breastmilk, so this is unusual and probably won't last.)

LittleMissFlustered · 11/10/2012 14:39

My babyonnastick is now yellow o

Xiaoxiong · 11/10/2012 15:07

Er...LMF. Weirdest post award goes to you...

I just got an email saying the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are coming to visit tomorrow and all boys, masters and their families are welcome as long as we are there waiting when she arrives at 6.30pm Grin We are SO there!!!

Aethelfleda · 11/10/2012 15:35

xiao, baby-onna-stick = Stokke Pushchair. So called cos baby is perched about three foot up.

Silence from the Estate Agent re our house offer. Not going to rise to the bait and call them. Hmmmm. May ring back fantasty house EA to take my mind off it....

OP posts:
Xiaoxiong · 11/10/2012 18:13

But why would it have turned yellow? Actually, I probably don't want to know...

Yes ring up about the fantasy house!! Grin

Figgygal · 11/10/2012 20:00

My lovely sleep loving DS has been replaced by a grumpy pinching teething scream demon he's hot his head 3 times since I've put him to bed with 3 rescues after hysterical screaming. Have teething powdered him and calpoled now so hopefully that'll knock him out.....bad teeth!' Sad

LittleMissFlustered · 11/10/2012 20:08

Minion the younger and I just got drenched coming home from dropping the elder one at cubs. Octoboy was being smug under his raincover.

Need coffee!

LittleMissFlustered · 11/10/2012 20:09

Yellow replacement fabric, I now have a spare set do I can wash them when needed:o

Aethelfleda · 11/10/2012 20:25

AAARGH, I really need a .

There's sort of good news in that the EA rang back and said the vendors would take 5k over our last offer (which I think we can just stretch to). It's a lot of money, but I think we can do it just about. However, tried to ring DH about it and despite agreeing last night during a long chat that he wanted the house and thought it was worth that amount (we checked on zoopla and it's in line with other local houses the same size), he then started humming and hemming and saying he had a few reservations...as if I was pushing him into it, and claimed he felt "rushed".
And he's away tonight and not answering his texts (and when he did ring was in middle of putting DCs to bed.)

Aaaarrrgh. Am sick of the whole thing now. And jealous cos he's out "work socialising" and in a hotel tonight and I'm h

Oh and fantasy house has vanished from Rightmove, I rang the EA who said it's off the market as they were getting lots of enquiries but the vendors still weren't ready to actually sell yet (translation, EA told them to either start taking viewings or get off the market). Not meant to be...

MissRee · 11/10/2012 20:42

Sucks about the fantasy house Aethel but I'm a firm believer in what's meant to be will be. Just convince yourself it has subsidence or something Wink

Aethelfleda · 11/10/2012 20:53

Thanks misree. to be honest I'm just tired and a bit Sad. Getting an offer accepted is meant to be something good but with DH's reaction I just feel lousy. Think an early night is in order once I've got all tomorrow's baby bits and school detritus together.

I get the tired and Sad - am feeling it myself at the mo. Get some sleep, it'll all seem brighter on a fresh head Smile

Aethelfleda · 11/10/2012 21:33

Thanks guys. It's not so bad, DH is lovely really. I think he just didn't realise I was feeling grotty. Bed. Will be better tomorrow.

MissRee · 11/10/2012 22:16

Well, I have an impromptu day off tomorrow to wrangle a poorly pickle. She's apparently been inconsolable today at Nanny's Sad I didn't want to leave her with my Aunt tomorrow if she's poorly as my aunt is a bit of a "flapper". She's never had children of her own so whilst I'm happy for her to care for the happy, laid back Freya, the grumpy, poorly and screechy Freya will be total shell-shock for her Grin Cheist even hardened pro Nanny (2 DSs and 4 GC) got all emotional today when she couldn't settle her!

Hopefully a day indoors with Mummy cuddles and PJs will sort her out Grin

mopsytop · 11/10/2012 23:26

Oops. 3 pints with old friend from
Oxford. Twiddle head, drunky.

mopsytop · 11/10/2012 23:27

Officially a lightweight...

Figgygal · 12/10/2012 06:18

Apparently 5.30 is up time today he's currently emptying the bin in DHs office and im letting him maybe a paper cut will send him back to bed Sad

mopsytop · 12/10/2012 08:00

Minim must have known I was a bit drunk, she only woke 4 times and settled fairly quickly each time (instead of the crying for hours she's done every other night this week) and then slept until 7.30! Woo! Husband got up three of the times so I had a good night. And I drank three pints of water before bed so don't even have a hangover yay! And it's Friday and were going for a second view of the house later...

Hmm coffee methinks.

Gee hope babygee slept ok.

MissRee, hope baba not too poorly.

Northern, hope you're on the mend.

aethel, hope things feel more positive today.

Oi, do you mean Ted talks? Watch them online frequently...

OiMissus · 12/10/2012 08:36

mopsy yes - the "X" means it's a local event. So there are lots of speakers taking over the Lowry...The organiser said they'd be publishing the schedule online this weekend, so I thought I'd wait. the sessions are 10 - 2, then 4 til 9. So I was going to pick the best session. But tickets are in today's groupon deal, 2 all-day tickets cost as much as 2 x one session tickets. So now the dilemma: Do I wait until the event listing comes out - and then find it's fully booked? Or do I buy 2 all day tickets, and leave two seats empty for one of the sessions? Which seems unfair.
(Morning all!)
Hope LO is feeling better missree.
Aethel the right house will make it's appearance in it's time. You have to believe in fate. It worked for me. Just don't rush into the wrong house in panic. It's very exciting all you who are selling and buying. ...Was it MissRee who posted a link to a house - it didn't work from my phone, I'd better scroll back and have a wee looky...
