Right we've done poo conversations how about a wee one.

How many times has everyone been weed on? DS got me good and proper this morning.

We had docs at 9.20am so thought i'd take him up still in his sleep suit and just change his nappy. Laid him on sofa on a blanket and left his nappy off for a bit to have a free kick around, and he weed, missed me but soaked the blanket, sleepsuit and vest. So i picked him onto my knee off the wet blanket and started undressing him (by this time it was fast approaching 9.10am) when he did it again soaking my trousers thru stopped for a few seconds and started weeing again, so i had to finish dressing him then change myself. (DH pi**ing himself by this point) Made it to docs just a few mins late but he was running late anyway so all fine. :)

3k · 15/03/2006 22:40

Hi All,

Tabs when Ben had diarroah last week it was like water and he would fart and you would hear his nappy filling up really wet!!! Sorry TMI!!!

Chloe, Ben is on about 4oz of milk and is fed every 3 hours during the night too. He takes his 4oz in the morning at about 9.30am and then wants more half hour later so I think he is starting to move to five ounces but he wont take it all at once. I'm in absolutely no routine with him during the day really, he just feeds when he wants to feed although he does have a 3 hour sleep in the afternoon but other than that he just eats, eats and eats!!!!

Think PND is getting a bit better, I'm not as teary now and feel better getting out of the house every day. I'm on the tablets for about 10 weeks but I think they are kicking in now which is good.

Jasnem · 16/03/2006 07:54

Wow, it was like old times trying to catch up on all the chat yesterday.Smile

3k - good to hear you are feeling a bit better.Getting out of the house definitely helps.

No interesting pooh or wee comments here... Boy has wwed on my bed, my carpet and my sofa, but not on me (yet). Serves me right though for having had no changing mat for the first two weeks.

Mrs D - good to have you back. I found my second a big shock. I sort of expected another easy, placid baby, as my first was, and everyone said, "oh, it's because you're so relaxed" DD2 was evidence that 1) my attitude had bggr all effect on her, and thet 2) the same parents and the same environment does not produce children with a similar temperament!

I cheated last night and let Boy sleep in his chair. He likes to be up a bit, and also seems to prefer being able to see around him. I also went to bed after the girls instead of waiting 'til he had his feed at 11pm, so I got a bit more sleep.
He sleeps in the pram in the am (drops off on the school run and I leave him), and in his chair in the pm, so I think I may give up on the basket, and start loking to buy a cot instead. So glad now that I didn't buy itGrin

Chloe55 · 16/03/2006 08:36

DH says he is going to buy a face visor because ds is always peein on him - I have only been weed on a couple of times, ds tends to wee in his own face to be honest - resulting in him needing a bath sometimes so he really sets us back in time when he wants to. When he had diarrhoea it would often leak up his nappy and all over his clothes too, right pain.

I wasn't really for co-sleeping and still don't really think I am but I have started letting ds sleep with us after his 3am/4am feed, mainly because I can't be bothered to get him all warm and cosy in his crib again and also because I think ds really likes it. However, because I am a bit of a fidgeter in bed I end up pushing dh over until he is practically falling out and we both squash to one end giving the little man about 3/4 of the bed (he splays both his arms out too so needs a fair bit of room) - don't know how long this co-sleeping will last as I can't sleep all squashed up Smile

Flamesparrow · 16/03/2006 09:20

You're sounding much more positive 3K :)

DS sleeps during the day in the carrycot bit of the pram on the lounge floor - normally with a V shaped pillow folded inside it, and him wedged in the middle. He likes the security of it, so looks like I'm trying to squash him by the time he's swaddled already, then wedged in the cushion! Its a shame I can't leave him like it for the night, he'd probably sleep much better!

I timed him last night - it can take up to 2 minutes to settle himself after a wind attack.. which seems nothing when he's downstairs and I am occupied - in the cot at night it sounds like hours!!! I actually lay in bed last night clutching my phone (no clock in our room) so that I could see how long he had actually been crying for - I was convinced he was howling for much longer when he was in his cot... the longest was 1 1/2 minutes Blush

Dunno what time he ended up in our bed last night - I wasn't paying attention... I wasn't really thinking about whether he was whinging for food or something else either - if he whimpered, I fed him! Now need to change the sheets because I got carried away and his stomach couldn't hold any more!! Mean mummy also upset him at one stage... he was crying, so I positioned him to attach himself, and I realised he'd been bumping for a while and not actually latching on - I'd forgotten to put my bra down BlushGrin - Poor little guy was frantically trying to get a grip on cotton!

Wee - so far he's not got me. Got DH and himself. He managed to show me up at my friend's house... I always seem very disorganised around her anyway, so he decided to wee all over himself, and I realised that the change of clothes I'd brought that I thought was a thick babygro... had no feet to it. I'd not brought any socks, and his little feet were freezing. He also did a great fountain job that went over my shoulder, missing him, me, and the changing unit, and covering the bathroom floor and his blanket! It was impressive to watch!

Flamesparrow · 16/03/2006 09:21

Oooh, meant to say, I think I got things the right way round - DD was a constantly awake baby, and has always been a fairly hyper and challenging child... makes this laid back DS seem soooo easy Wink

Jasnem · 16/03/2006 10:03

Well, I suffered for thinking I could do two under 16 months last time, but I'm getting my reward now with BoySmile

Helen38 · 16/03/2006 10:35

Hi there, gory details all posted but not sure how to do link plus been sat here for too long and stitches sore so can't be bothered to work out how to do one Wink

Should be around a bit more now hope all are wellGrin

Helen38 · 16/03/2006 10:42

thanksGrin

ellenrose · 16/03/2006 12:11

3k - so pleased things are feeling better for you Smile

Flame - My pump is in the steriliser too, DH desperate to help out with the feeding and I have managed to get this far so ought to try and express some later. Just getting the whole thing working took planning the army would be proud of last night so we will have to see if I actually get around to expressing any today Grin

DS usually saves her wee for the moment I have put the clean nappy under her bottom and gets that one as well.

MrsDoolittle · 16/03/2006 12:28

Hi Jasnem!!Smile

Flame - your little chap sounds a little like mine. It's the wind or colic which has caused me the problems because the feeing at night hasn't been straight forward, unlike dd who juts needed a feed and then placing back in the crib. Ds was at first crying for an hour after each feed of which were much more frequent at first. Now gradually he is feeding less and crying less, just wriggling and screwing his face up like a mad thing Sad but that can be about half an hour. After a half hour feed the 'wind thing' takes another half hour before he begins to settle. I've given in to co-sleeping as a result as he settles much more easily. Infact, I often leave him latched on, for comfort, then he over feeds and we have the same rigmarole again.
Anyway, last week I had to fix him to 3 hourly feeds because otherwise he would feed all day, overfeed and then bring it all back - no good. I wa salso going round with contsantly leaking boobs like footballs.
Hopefully things will settle down now though.

Love the rooting around the bra scenario Grin Just the kind of thing I'd do!!

Frizbe · 16/03/2006 15:10

Lol at the bra flame Grin I can just imagine that happening to me in the middle of the night too!

Hi Mrs D, nice to see you back on here!

Hotmama dd appears to be getting more efficient here too, although how much of that is my imagination? but her feed times have reduced to roughly 15mins per boob.....we currently appear to have rotten wind/been drinking too much milk and have been having a good barf after each feed Grin which she wasn't doing last week, so hopefully she's putting on all the weight we need her too!

dd1 has been an angel today, putting up with dd2's feeds with no bother, as dd2 decided on an afternoon snack, when she usually sleeps thru....she's now staring round her cot, and occasionally at dd1, who keeps declaring that's my sister, awwww....

Chloe55 · 16/03/2006 15:33

Afternoon all, I have had a very quiet day from ds which I presume means I am in for a horrendous evening/night! I keep having to wake him up to feed - I use to let him sleep for 4/5 hours during the day if he chose to (doesn't exactly need feeding up) but he would never go more than 2/3 hours through the night so I think he has got his sleep pattern wrong and I am trying to reverse it - however, everytime I wake him for a feed he literally feeds and then falls asleep immediately again, even through a nappy change! Oh well, the bonus is I have cleaned out cupboards and got a bit more organised today.

PMSL at your poor ds sucking on a bra Flame!

Flamesparrow · 16/03/2006 16:26

My DD got a star Grin No idea what for, didn't spot it til we got home! I never knew school stickers would make me so excited. Today we did the school run in the sling - soooo much easier! I need to get my positioning better though, it is digging into my shoulder :(

Chloe Envy at your cupboards! I dipped out on that by getting the sleeper second time round - now I have DD wanting me when DS is asleep!

Daddycool was mean about Tru Calling... sulking now.

Helen38 · 16/03/2006 16:49

chloe, your ds sounds just like my new one, maybe it's a big baby thing. He goes much longer in the day that at night, 4 hrs which is rather good for 12 days but 2 or 3 at night, he spent all morning today screaming or on the boob, but most days sleeps loads.
He feeds about half an hour a side and tends to empty both, but in the night iit can be one side, then other, then nappy then hungry again so end up putting him back on both sides which means we are up for ages, hoping milk supply will increase and sort that out.

MrsDoolittle · 16/03/2006 16:52

\link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=16280&topicid=1364&threadid=155884&redir=16280\I'm worrying here}

4blue1pink · 16/03/2006 18:05

My ds has drops for furry mouth although one hv said it was not. Thing is i just cant give it four times a day AFTER feeds as it would just wake him...?

Also would my nipples have something wrong with them if i had thrush on them? They are sore and rubbing canestan into them ( even remebering to) does not appeal.... i wish it would go away.

Boys skin is a worry too ...spots not too bad now but a sort of dry but not fry look to it on forehead - just not smooth any peachy - any advice anyone on these two?

Flamesparrow · 16/03/2006 18:20

No experience of thrush. My right nipple is feeling weird, but I think that is through the messing about with good and bad latching with chiro appointments... he seemed to have a white mouth earlier, but he'd just been sick, so I am trying to keep an eye out later! Starting to think reading about it lots is making my nipples itch!!!

Spotty child... again, no advice, just really a "snap"! Poor little guy is still peeling on his head, he has a red patch right in the middle of his forehead, spots extending from his jaws round to the back of his neck/top of back, and weird red patches at the bottom of his hairline which I think are birthmarks... :( Definately not a nice smooth baby skin!

ixel · 16/03/2006 18:34

Dont worry... at 3 1/2 wks, ds2 is going through his teenage skin stage! From what I can remember from ds1, it ddn't last too long, so I'm not worried.
And... midwife today... ds2 has FINALLY put on some weight! He's put on 100g in the last 2 days, which is his first gain in a fortnight Grin I'm very relieved, but cant help thinking that I'm just crap at breastfeeding, as the improvement has only taken place since I stepped up the feeds of EBM to top him up. I dont want to end up mainly expressing, as its so time consuming.
My c section scar has gone a bit grim, so she's taken another swab. Its very red and moist, and one bit has opened up (sorry if TMI). Yuck.

Tabs... did you go to Harvester? If so, how was it?

MrsDoolittle · 16/03/2006 20:03

We have those spots too and it's those that are Neonatal thrush, I'm told. It's being treated with nystatin now.
I was given cream which seems daft to me when he's feeding so frequently!!!

Jasnem · 16/03/2006 20:34

Not good with thrush or spots here either. Boy has lovely skin on hisface, and is still dry and a bit flaky on his body, but no spots.
I've got sore nips, too...didn't consider thrush, but I think he's ok and it's just not good latching. Once Boy comes near me, milk is abundant, so I think he's getting lots without having to try, and slips off after a few minutes, ending up just sucking on a too small bit.

Saw hv today and Boy is now 9lb 6ozGrin. No more waiting in for home visits now for the next monthGrin

Ixel - [happy] for weight gain. Did you bf DS1?Maybe DS2 is just taking a bit longer to take enough...the more you keep going the easier it will get for you both.
Sad for icky scar though...hope it's not infected.

Boy has decided he needs feeding every hour this pm ( not great timing, as I did swimming lesson with all 3 kids this evening, too) I'm going to go to bed early in anticipation of a long night.

Morning girls,

MrsD - Hotmama was prescribed as having thrush I think - she might be able to advise you better.

Ixel - really pleased your ds is putting on some weight, I guess he was a hefty size at birth so I'm guessing providing he is putting on some weight now that's all that matters (am sure it has nothing to do with your bf ability)

Flame - Ahhh at you dd getting a star Smile

3K - How you feeling now? Is the medication helping?

Hope everyone else is ok.

Well, I was right - after having to wake ds up for every feed yesterday he decided to only go a maximum of 2&1/2 hours between feeds last night Angry He has been wide awake all morning though and we have been playing lots on his play mat. This past week he has started 'talking' and makes really cute cooing noises, that is when he is in a good mood! I had to laugh yesterday because I frown regularly without even realising (I look like I'm in a bad mood sometimes when I'm not) and I commented to dh that ds frowns all the time. He commented that he wonders where he gets it from Grin Note to self: MUST SMILE MORE OFTEN Grin
