YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin

Jasnem · 07/04/2006 17:12

Now we need a name from 4b1p, then I think we should celebrate by starting a new thread.

4blue1pink · 07/04/2006 17:14

luther!

Flamesparrow · 07/04/2006 18:04

Oooh that sounds like a good plan Jas - Feb 2006 - We all have names! Grin

Much happier now - still exhausted but went out with my mum for the afternoon - kids slept in the car, we had tea and hot dog from a stand and watched a thunderstorm, then went back to mum's for more tea Grin

Flamesparrow · 07/04/2006 18:16

Luther? Is that a final answer? Grin if it is - I like that!

4blue1pink · 07/04/2006 20:39

Yes ...thanks flame.

I am all please with his birth certificate keep looking at his full name!

My dp is officially shared parental rights for my baby but not the other four as the law has changed and not retrospectively!Shock

got to go for a speeedy bath now before feed time!

Jasnem · 07/04/2006 20:55

I saw the thing about the law changing, too and asked if it was retrospective! We're the same now - he's got parental rights on ds but not dds. We won't get married and the only other option is some legal declaration. He doesn't care about legalities so is trusting me not to disappear with his kidsGrin

Well done on the name 4b1p. Smile It's a relief to finally have it done.
I won't get his cert 'til next week though, as we went to nearest registrar, not the one near the hospital.

Morgan · 08/04/2006 09:37

Well i'm going to post on this thread before it disappears as as i have been reading but not posting.

Good names really like Leon and Luther - all the L's.

Re the weight issue feeling down as although i am bf'ing i have put weight on since the birth - this happened with ds too - i weighed less after birth than before pg and then put weight on afterwards - the stress of feeding and being tired makes me eat too much - and also having had three weeks of visitors so lots of food around.Need to do some exercise !

Lauren had mild bronchilotis and a cold for a couple of weeks at the same time as ds had chicken pox so it has been fun here! although she still managed to put weight on and looks like a chipmunk! She slept through for two nights from about 7.30pm to 6.30 am but then last night did not settle until 8.30 and woke at 4 for an hour and then 7. She has been suffering from colic again and crying lots and lots of wind and big poos which seem to help. Went out for lunch with my sis the other day dd was crying so picked her out of the pram and she was covered in poo and it was in the pram too - nice!

jangus · 08/04/2006 10:24

hope everyone is doing well... with a quick scan it seems that way. i never get the chance to be on the computer. always seem to find housework to do when seth is sleeping.
just one thing. my health visitor told me on thursday that the new guidelines say to make up each bottle as needed... not making 5/6 at a time. Does everyone else follow this rule cos now i am worried that ive been doing it wrong. also i tried to make each bottle as needed yesterday... but i found that i couldnt relax as i was always thinking about when i should be boiling the kettle in order for the water to cool in time for his feed. very stressful(a minor thing, but with being tired etc.). and how can you organise to go out for the day???
any advice? should i change or keep making up 5/6 at a time... how would i cope with the guilt if seth got sick cos i was doing it wrong?
xjangus

Tabs · 08/04/2006 10:26

Luther is a cool name! We still don't have a name for popmum's boy, but she hasn't joined us on this thread, so don't know if we will ever find out!

Morgan - try not to stress about your weight. I do know what you mean though - I have been stuffing biscuits down my neck like they're going out of fashion, as they are easy to grab whilst I feed DD in the afternoons, but if I don't stop then I will be piling weight on too. Keep thinking that I'm wasting an opportunity to do slimming world and watch the weight fall off, but struggling to motivate myself just yet. Maybe we should both make a pact to go walking more with pushchairs?

Sorry to hear about Lauren's bronchiolitus. Have you tried baby massage to help with her colic at all? I presume you can get infacol ok out there, or do you want me to send you some?

Big hugs going out to flame. You sound like you are suffering the same sort of exhaustion that I felt a few weeks ago. It does get easier though - I promise, and in a few weeks time you'll look back and think how amazing you are for coping with it all! :)

Morgan · 08/04/2006 11:31

Tabs - i must walk more but i always seem to be feeding or driving somewhere here - i do walk around the shops sometimes!! I do indeed have infacol but it doesn't seem to make any difference to whether she suffers or not. Thanks for offering to send some. The attacks are random and you never know when they are going to hit. She had a horrible couple of days Weds/Thurs when she was crying on and off for most of the day with small sleeps. I haven't done baby massage. There was a course going here but it wasn't at a good time. I am really just waiting for it to pass.

Flamesparrow · 08/04/2006 13:39

Jangus - with DD I always had the water in all the bottles, and then just added the powder as and when needed. I had it measured out in one of those little avent powder pot things.

Sooo much better last night - turns out that the little guy just doesn't like open spaces - slept him in the pram all night and he went back to sleep lovely after feeds.. now trying to sort out some sort of crib for him.

Grin

Will be back later

ixel · 08/04/2006 14:36

Jangus - I only heard about the bottle thing via chinese whispers on the post natal ward. But there's no harm in having the water ready, and premeasure the powder into one of the little avent triple compartment holders so you just have to tip it in with no effort needed. Esp good at night Smile

I ALMOST fit into my old jeans ,ie they do go on now, but with a huge overhang, not very comfy, and I dont have a long enough top to cover the disaster area. But its progress!

Does anyone know what form steroid treatment for stretchmarks would take? The doc suggested it, but I didn't ask anything about it, and now I'm thinking it would be a good idea. Esp as she said I have the worst she's ever seen! Would it just be a cream?

Frizbe · 08/04/2006 17:47

Don't know Ixel, would just recommend lobbing bio oil on them, as that's what a friend who works in dermotology recommends!!

3k, mines stopped sleeping too, and my body is all over the place, bleeding stopped for 2 days, started slowly for two weeks, then last night got heavy again?!

Chloe don't panic you can walk race for life! Hotmama was that the Nottm half, I did it a few years ago, didn't like the up hill bit tho Grin did dublin marathon in 98 (mainly for the booze afterwards!), definately not fit enough to do that now tho...

Hope all are ok, I'm suffering from 3 kids and the Easter hols already, but then seeing that dd2 has taken to having an extra feed at night and dd1 has taken to bothering her during the day, so she's not getting sleep I'm a bit frazzled.............will start bedtime routine next weekend at 6 weeks and bed during afternoon for her, so she gets some kip without being poked etc.....

Flamesparrow · 08/04/2006 19:18

I have a poorly baby :( Nappy like snot (sorry for tmi), slight temp, and really miserable crying. He's so little and I just feel useless :(

My dad sorted his sleeping situation.. he'd still been whinging that he wanted to buy something substantial for him, so I did the selfless thing of letting him buy us \link{http://www.kiddicare.com/invt/crbbrvlittleangen\this} Grin

Flame... join the club, but ds2's illness is all the top end not the bottom. He's just done the most enormous amount of vomit all over me and the settee, and it smelt of sick, not just of milk. He was really snotty all night too, so slept badly.

Jasnem · 08/04/2006 22:29

Well everything went a bit pear shaped for me last night. Boy was miserable and didn't settle to sleep til past midnight. By then I'd developed all the symptoms I had last week but in the other breast.
Spent most of the morning crying, trying to fake it as a competent mother, and counting the minutes til dp got home to take over.Posted a thread on here, and spoke to bf counsellor. More work to do next week, but I'm past the worst. Hoping this doesn't happen every week though.
Definitely going to hunt outsome more support closer to home when I can...didn't have any probs at all with dds, but am still struggling, and so want to bf for a full year this time.

Hope poorly babies are feeling better.

Only 1 more week of 3 kids for me.Grin

Flamesparrow · 09/04/2006 09:57

Oh Jas :(

I hope today goes better for you.

Little man comfort fed for most of yesterday evening, but then settled well for the night, and only ended up in our bed from about 4.30 (had a feed about 1am). He is still sounding miserable now, but I don't know how much is poorly, and how much is stroppy with daddy for trying to play xbox while cuddling!!

Flamesparrow · 09/04/2006 10:39

So - how about a new thread in honour of Leon and Luther?

Chloe55 · 09/04/2006 13:50

Afternoon girls,

Sorry you are feeling so shitty Jas, hope you start feeling better soon.

Did I tell you I had put ds in his own room in his big cot for the past couple of nights? Well, he is settling in there really well, I think he is much more comfortable because he can now stretch out without hitting the sides and it is nice for me and dh to have our own room back too.

Any suggestions for new thread title? Feb 06 - Thank God the first couple of weeks are over! Wink

Flamesparrow · 09/04/2006 19:10

lol - or Feb 06 - Who needs sleep anyway? Grin

My baby is still poorly :( He slept for a couple of hours today while I walked DD on the beach (he was in the sling), but apart from that, he has been awake feeding or crying. He still has a slight temp, and the rest of him feels all cold and clammy and horrible. Nappies are looking lots better though.

He's currently crying in his pram... he seems to settle off to sleep better if he hollers for a couple of minutes (not hours on end obviously!). I think he's just getting more worked up this time though, so I'm off to get him again.

Jasnem · 09/04/2006 19:11

Evening,
Feeling much better, although still not convinced bf is quite right, I am not in pain all the time any more.
We're all set for a day out tomorrow (Legoland) and it's been raining here for the past hour. I really hope it's better tomorrow, as it's the only day I can get 3 adults to 4 kids.

4blue1pink · 09/04/2006 19:33

my baby is a treasure - 9.15 this morining from 11.30 dream feed last night- bless his towelling babygro!

He is so good - sweet and attentive when awake smiles and coos.Worshipped!I think he is a beauty too! He is sent to tell me how wrong i was to yearn for a girl ...a real blessing!
Hope you are all good and happy -dp has spent all weekend building playhouse for ds 3 in hail snow and blizzards whilst i have sole childcare Shock
nearly done now -in a mud slide (he needs to deck bottom of garden) and a lovely shade of farrow and ball blue! Idyllic - wish my parents had been so good to me! ds3 ran out in just wellies after bath last night to play in it!

4blue1pink · 09/04/2006 19:49

Hope i dont sound too gushy....no one is interested in a fifth baby so i have to sing his praises somewhere!
