AWCH do you use your library? Ours is great for kids and had loads of board books for babies.

BJR what a lovely treat from your DH, can you get him to talk to mine? :o and 5 teeth! Yet another amazing way in which all of our babies are so different.

Eva says mama, dada, baba and I'm pretty certain the other day she said handbag Hmm.

Kitty5824 · 09/08/2012 00:14

A lovely stranger knocked on our door about 40 mins ago asking if we had a cat.

It looks like my gorgeous girl-cat Kyla was hit by a car. They'd spotted her fitting in the road. She's black with white paws, neck ruffle and belly so a good spot in the dark.

DH went and got her, she's obviously taken some trauma to the head. She was warm but floppy when he bought her in. Not breathing though. Sad

She'd just started sleeping on our bed again at night now that Seb is in his own room. DH fed the cats before he went to work. I'd often wake up to find her asleep on my belly.

I'm so thankful the stranger knocked on our door though, and that we didn't find her tomorrow morning, or worse she just went missing.

Our boy-cat is very confused by all the attention he is suddenly getting after 7 and a bit months.....

Sorry kitty :(

aethelfleda · 09/08/2012 06:44

Really sorry to hear that kitty (((hug))) . :(

at this end: after DD repeat "visiting" with various excuses re:not being able to sleep, DS neede repositioning
at midnight (he shuffles himself into a cot corner sometimes
And wedges his head in the corner which wakes him up) then i had DD2 bedsharing after a dream and them DS decided
4 am was the morning (la la la la la raspberries). Gave him an extra 4'am bottle just to get a bit more sleep. He is now up again and full of the joys of something, bless him.
It's just a bit noisy and I'm hung over from dsm's virtual hen party.

Figgygal · 09/08/2012 07:03

Sorry to hear that kitty Sad

Ds is in bed with dh playing with his v annoying noisy frog decided sleep was for wimps this morning.

Ds makes all sorts of noises but thats as far as it goes i think, no teeth, no crawling he is clearly happy being a baby Grin

Last day at work today for weekend yay!!

GeeandTee · 09/08/2012 07:10

Very sorry to hear that Kitty :( I am still mourning the loss of my cat of 16 years. He died 2 years ago but whenever I visit my parents I still expect him to be there :(

On good news, just one wake up at 3am and one of my boobs was about to explode out of my armpit so I was actually grateful that she woke up!

We're visiting a children's farm today. Just have to pack up all the paraphrenalia that comes with 2 DC and hope that I can find somewhere to feed DD tthat is nice and quiet. She is SO distractable and if there is stuff going on nearby she will literally come off every few seconds to look around while I spray her face with milk and flash my nipple at everyone Hmm

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 09/08/2012 07:37

Sorry to hear that Kitty

Well both girl's are still asleep, only reason I'm awake is because I needed the loo!

OiMissus · 09/08/2012 09:36

kitty ((((hugs)))) so sorry to hear that. SadSadSad

OiMissus · 09/08/2012 09:39

Another banbury night chez Oi. He slept til 0340, so that's slightly better. But he still needs a feed, and is hard to settle after.
I'm in the airport now, DH is going shopping for a monitor.
It's time to change the routine BOi's getting into. We're going for radical change.
Operation nursery is starting soon. I think we'll paint it this weekend and get everything moving. Smile

BJR · 09/08/2012 10:01

Sorry to hear that Kitty more hugs from this direction.

Not too great a night here. DS was very sniffly and seemed to have decided that he was only going to sleep if I was holding him. Lots of waking and taking ages to re-settle.

Good luck with the change of routine Oi, I should start trying to get DS into the habit of sleeping in his cot all of the time but I always end up going for the easy option at 3am and he nearly always ends up in my bed at the moment.

HoneyLovesCake · 09/08/2012 11:32

Sorry to here about Kyla Kitty (((hugs))) I've been there myself as I lost my little girl-cat the same way :(

Kitty5824 · 09/08/2012 11:53

Thanks everyone.

In happier news DS had his last bottle at 11.30 (woken by the knock on the door Sad) and went through till 6.

And I lost another 1.5lbs.

So we're going to the pub tonight for tea. We were going anyway, but it will now serve as Kyla's wake after we bury her in the back garden. I've never had big pets before. Is this normal? DH seems to think so.

This is slightly complicated by the fact that I don't want to bury her in the back garden here a) it's not our house and b) our cats are being terrorised by the other neighbourhood cats who already consider it to be there territory.

So we need to try to get hold of our tennents so go and bury her in our back garden. Good job we rent to our neice, her boyf and our nephew. Wink

Off to water the pot of lavender as I think we're going to plant it over her.

Kitty5824 · 09/08/2012 11:54

Ahem, DSM number of days please.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 09/08/2012 11:54

Oi Hope the break of routine works. Sky settled better & started sleeping thru night once in her own room. Hope your trip to Denmark is okay Smile

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 09/08/2012 11:56

Oops sorry Kitty

8 days & 9 sleeps to go Grin

Kitty Hope you bury Kyla somewhere nice in the garden Smile

HoneyLovesCake · 09/08/2012 12:36

Garden is normal kitty ours are under a tree at the bottom of our garden with engraved pebbles for headstones as my MIL's cuts slate signs. It's nice to know they're there. :)

Well done on the weight loss btw.

Figgygal · 09/08/2012 19:37

DS room is 24 degrees he's gone to bed in just a bodysuit and thin blanket I expect a disastrous nights sleep without his trusty sleeping bag.......slinking back out to prepare Confused

AWomanCalledHorse · 09/08/2012 19:47

kitty, sorry to here you've lost Kyla. As you've never done it before please make sure you bury her very, very deep (and possibly in something), we've had foxes dig up pets before.
You could alternatively have her cremated (we had this done with our last, very dear to us, bunny).
Well done on the weight loss.

Oi, good luck with operation reclaim bedroom. DS is moving onto his mattress in the spare room in September, may have to be earlier as he is currently attempting the climb out of the cot...long night ahead here.

Figgy, Ds has been in just a nappy and a thin sleeping bag since the weather got hot, sleeping bag is amazing as it slows the crawling/climbing. Good luck!

GeeandTee, love children's farms! Hope you had a great day?

NorthernChinchilla · 09/08/2012 21:05

Oh that's really sad kitty, so sorry to hear that, and how kind of the stranger to try to find her owner. We've buried all ours (hamsters then chinchillas) in back gardens round the country. Hope the wake at the pub went well.

DS is really, really vocal when he wants to be, but there's nothing even approaching a word in there. Lots of squawks, yells, raspberries, babble, etc, but nowt remotely resembling a word...tbf, I think he's doing 'babababababa' but it'll be a while til we get anything more Grin

That's brilliant news re. the sleeping Gee, really hope it continues!

I think that's what gets me as well Kate; it's not only an intrusion, but the amount of work that needs doing to prepare for guests especially when they're neurotically clean but their child, your DP, is Stig of the Dump is an effort when you work full time.

I'm currently having a big chuck out, as my Aunt and Uncle are visiting next weekend. DP hoards something rotten, and so I've filled three black bin bags of crud already, as it's bin night and it can all go. Bring on the big clean next week: bet you're dead jealous of my plans aren't you DSM Grin!!

We're just fingers crossed on DP's application to reduce his hours; if that doesn't work out, he will not want to go back, and it'll be hard to convince him otherwise...

HoneyLovesCake · 09/08/2012 21:43

Rocco says dadadadadada all the time sometimes just dada but it's not directed at DP so it doesn't count Grin Pretty sure his first word will be cat as he makes a kah sound when he sees them that's different to the usual babbling & he sometimes makes a gud sound when he sees the dog Confused

Rocco's not been asleep long, he was wide & giggling so we came down to watch the 200m then he started yawning so maybe he's just a Usain Bolt fan Hmm AMAZING race!!! He napped brilliantly this morning, possibly due to the heat? He's been in nothing but a nappy to sleep for months but he sleeps between us & he's always been a hot baby. I'm hoping he sleeps well tonight as I'm in agony after a trip to the orthodontist today & I don't want to be woken :( Counting the minutes until I can take more painkillers.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 09/08/2012 21:57

Northern I love a big clean Grin

Gee I hope the good sleeping continues.

Sky's been asleep since 8:15 and hoping that's it for the night now. Darcie is in bed hopefully asleep now tho, as she was watching HSM again

More wedding stuff packed into boxes for the hotel so we are getting there. Woohoo Grin

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 09/08/2012 21:58

Honey Hope Rocco sleeps well tonight for you. Is he in his own room yet?

aethelfleda · 09/08/2012 22:20

Uuuurgh, I am so looking forward to getting DH back on Sunday to help relieve my Banburyness. LMF you have my utmost admiration for wrangling three all the time....

OiMissus · 09/08/2012 22:36

Well done on surviving without DH aethel, it must be tough being the only one when you're used to some respite.
I've enjoyed the few nights without DH, when it's just been me n BOi. Everything remains calm and in sync. BUT that's just with one child. On the odd night. So lmf, scooby and. aethel, you have my respect.
I had the most amazing sushi tonight.if there is something that Copenhagen does well,... Fantastic. Guilt-free deliciousness!!! Nom nom nom!

seven77 · 09/08/2012 23:26

Hope Denmark is treating you well oi, sounds better than Germany!

kitty I hope that burying Kyla went ok, well done on the great weight loss.

aethel glad that DH is home soon, agreed I have no idea how anyone manages alone, hats off to LMF.

honey hope he sleeps ok.

The floor got almost finished yesterday, and the skirting bards will be done next week. It looks amazing. The valuation went ok, he said he couldn't see any reason why it wouldn't be valued at the price we said. We have loads of jobs that need doing but we've decided that with the spare 25k we're converting the garage into a new kitchen. We have a 4 bedroom house but currently the kitchen is a box!

DS is poorly :(. His temp was 38.4 this morning. Despite nurofen and calpol it reached 39, he's been sleepy and miserable all day. Dr said bring him in later, 30 minutes before he perked up and temp dropped to 37.9 so I didn't take him. By bedtime it was back to 38.5 and he was feeling rough again, he's asleep now but very hot and unsettled. Think it may be a bad night.
