Hi all. Finally re-lurking after what feels like weeks of nursing and no sleep. So long time no post. DS has had the horrible lurgie gastroenteritis thing (hospital and GP repeatedly), plus a streaming cold and all four front teeth cutting through at the same time. Dh has had chronic sinusitis to boot. Sad Thinking of you all and wanted to amke sure you all know that I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth! Will hope to catch up properly soon, but welcome to the newbies in the meantime. Smile

Hi Everyone,

Just popping in to say Ds has now finally recovered from the Gastroenteritis after nearly a week or hardly eating. He is so skinny now,I can see his ribs.He was 22lbs when weighed a couple of weeks ago,but has lost so much weight,I'll be scared to take him next timeShock.Still on the soya milk and he loves it,infact he's been drinking 40oz's since Friday, instead of his usual 20oz's!

Dh has now caught the bug off Oscar and has spent all weekend being sick and all day today in bed.He has the wek off and was meant to be looking after ds while I was at work today, but my mum ended up coming over to see to Ds.

I was officially leaving work on the 28th,but they told me I have 4 days leave to take,so I'm now leaving on the 20th-woohooooooooo,and because I'm only working part time,I'm in tomorrow, then my last day is next Monday-only two working days leftGrin.Very scary thought as I've worked continously for the last 17 years, but I'm sure I've made the right decision...I hopeSmile.

Sorry to hear lots of the Junies being unwell-hope they all get better soon and hello to everyone elseSmile.X

hi, I havent had dd weighed since december Think she was around 17lbs then, her 6-9 month clothes are getting tight now so she probably average weight.
Things are gradually improving on the sitting front, she sat uunsupported for 1 minute the other day so I happy she will get there soon Smile
Have any of you had your junies 8 month check yet? how was it?
I guess I should go baby clinic soon.

forgot to say good luck muma3, I quit smoking 13 months ago, I used these nicotine replacment tabs you put under your tonugue whenever you crave a cigarette.
Are you using patches or anything?

good morning junies

sorry to hear about all little ones feeling poorly. its seems like a tummy bug on the rampage. hope all get better soon and mums manage some rest.

bubb you kept woman youShockGrin dh just started a new job, less money but more secure, i am back in june, really must start talking to them properly about flexi time but really dreading the prospect. i think if all goes well and we have baby number 2 i will stay home a couple of years, i hope.

mumma well done! its really really hard, the first few weeks are the worst, but it gets better, just dont have a drink any time soonGrinthink about changing behaviours which you associate with fags, like a cup of tea in the morning and so on, be aware of triggers - good luck, its been 6 yrs for me, just keep thinking less wrinkles less wrinkles extra cash

all ok here, we have all been sneezing so i hope not a bad sign, i guess it could just be dust, not so hot on housekeeping departmentBlush just how do you do it with a crawling baby around getting into trouble all the time!
have smear test booked(tmi sorry) but i dread it, give me childbirth anytime

take care all

Afternoon ladies Smile

Sorry to hear so many are poorly. DD smiled this morning and has been bobbing up and down to the radio so I'm assuming she's feeling more like her old self Grin just got to stop her scratching scabs now!

Me23, alot of us have had the 8mth check, but tbh they mostly just ask does your baby babble? does your baby recognise their name when called? does your baby pass objects from one hand to the other? - I wouldn't worry if your surgery don't do the 8mth check, you're not missing alot so long as you're happy and have no concerns yourself.

Muma - GOOD LUCK, keep at it Smile Definitely agree with SFX about changing trigger habits/rituals...I used to get off the bus one stop before I needed as the walk was exactly one smoke long ShockGrin When I really really wanted one I would tell myself 5 mins and I could have one if I really wanted, then I'd make a cuppa and pretty soon that overwhelming desire subsided and I was alright until the next time Wink Determination will get you through - you CAN do it!

Bubb - how fab, wish I only had two more working days Wink Sorry to hear dh has caught ds's bug, but glad to hear Oscar's feeling better Smile

SFX - Woohoo on the runs - I've been out kleeneze(ing) and it's flipping freezing so I admire your energy!Grin

Just when I though we were through the illnesses (ds and then dd's pox) ds woke up this morning with conjunctivitus. Our doctor informs me that lo's get it mostly from picking their noses and then rubbing dirty fingers in their eyes Shock. So now I have another one to add to the list 'don't pick your nose because...your brain will fall out / your fingers will get stuck / your eyes will be glued shut' I'm still not sure it's going to stop the little blighter!!!WinkGrin

evening all

bubb - forgot to ask about soya milk you mentioned. do you give it for a particular reason? is it soya formula or normal soya ?- i ask because i dont drink milk and am not keen on giving it to dd. i have yogurt and some cheese but never have milk in the house, not planning on strict vegetarian upbringing but that is still the majority of our diet
thanks

katz - sorry about the hard time you are all having, hope you manage some rest soon.

mumma3 - honestly what a useless idiotAngry
dont let it get to you too much. take care and keep off the fags. your dd is lovely and cleverSmile

am off to bed soon, tomorrow is another run day, i so hate it before i get going...so cold, bed so warm... flabby bottom GO RUN

SFX-It's Cow and Gate soya formula.Ds really was ill last week and our GP suggested it as he seemed to think it would be easier on his tummy. He has now had the whole tin already, absolutely loves it and is draining every bottle.Since Monday he has also decided to wake up at 4.30am(instead of 7.30!),and scream until I give him his bottleShock.
I think that because we starved him for a couple of days,he seems to think now that unless he screams when hungry,he's not going to be fedShock. He is so out of his routine also, and back to drinking 4 10oz bottles, instead of 3,totalling about 20oz's.I'm not working for the rest of the week,so if he wakes up at 4.30 tomorrow morning,he won't be the only one screamingGrin.

well done katzg Smile
dd3 is screaming for england at the moment but i have put her down for a little while. im exhausted. took her doctors this morning as she had started to be sick again and told them that she still hasnt eaten since sunday. my HV came out to see her and arranged for the doctor to see her straight away. i popped in on way to school so HV offered to watch dd3 whilst i took the other 2 girls to school . i ran the whole way back!!! doc had already examined her and he said that she isnt dehydrated yet but if she doesnt take any fluids by 3pm then bring her back Shock . being tired and emotional i started crying thinking the worse and they would admitt her . she has had 1 oz of water/dioralyte and 4 ozs of milk so i think ill leave it til tmw. she wont let me put her down and im so tired.

regarding house move--
a lady that i speak to at dd1+dd2 old school saw me this morning and asked how i was . i couldnt resist in sharing my good news about being offered a house. as soon as i told her where it was she was really keen on doing a mutual exchange with me .
whooo hooo i was really excited. you can see the girls school from the kitchen window etc etc . just phoned the council and it has put a dampener on it now. its housing ass so i will lose my right to buy which was our plan. also i will have to move into house and then swap with friend. this means taking kids out of the school and moving to other side of town before applying to come back again. also paper work messy with to different ass arghhhhhhhhhhh
WHAT DO I DO????????????
my head is spinning Sad

Oh muma what a pain, we did a three way swop when I was a girl, but I guess they were all council as it all happened at once. If you moved into the house you've been offered how long do you have to wait until you can effect the swap with your friend? Only if it could happen pretty quickly would you maybe be able to leave the girls where they are at school??

Katz - woohoo on the sample front - blimey it was hard enough trying to get my own at 8+mths pg - wouldn't have had a clue where to start with a babe - well done for thinking of the plastic sheet - genius! Grin

we will have to move all our stuff over to this house . cant decorate or put any flooring down then when all settled but before dust sets we will have to put in for a exchange. the housing officer said that the council will agree to letting us move, its just a case of the housing association sorting there end out really, so all that paper work has to be done . inspections of each house will need to be done so that they can see if any damage etc. then the council and housing ass will swap paper work and send each of us a letter to say its been approved.
all this can take up to a month i think after we have moved the first time.

all very complicated to me Smile
thinking of keeping the girls out for a month till dust settles then carry on as norm if poss? they have had so much upheavel already a bit more shouldnt hurt , should it?
what would any MNetters do?

and to top it all off my friend has just told me she is pregnant and we are suppose to be going to florida in sept!!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh am happy for her but she has only just back with him Shock

my head all over place
anyway got to go need to go and check out the house to see how its getting on . some times it all feels like a dream ( or nightmare )Sad
love me xxxxxx
