scream I am rubbish at spotting teething- I thought dd1 was for months and then she didn't get a tooth until after her first birthday! It might be that she has just found her hands or is looking for her thumb? Perhaps this will be the first step on the way to self soothing? [hopeful emoticon]

purple good to see you! Sorry to hear you have been having a rough time though.

biscuits I an going to vote duck egg with the disclaimer that I haven't actually seen the bag but I do like duck egg in general.

Fellow shredders I did it again today, defo more sore this time. This afternoon I kept thinking I was engorged or had the start iof a blocked duct in my armpit until I realised it was just muscle soreness Blush

dream we had a potty knocking about for ages, I like to think it helped dd1 get used to it and she would sometimes take her readies and things.

pomme hope your dd cracks the poos soon. Does she have special pants that she would be keen to keep clean?

Well, dd1 is her own bed tonight, rather than her cot, for the first time. Fingers crossed she likes it and doesn't climb out to join us at some point in the night...

Wants3 · 25/06/2012 09:46

D actually napping,in the kitchen with washing machine and radio on! He has previously fallen to sleep to the sound of ds1s electric guitar and the petrol lawnmower :)
We are still on a manic feeding pattern, my nipples are really sore, one almost bleeding so I am going to avoid using it today too much. I haven't had much luck with expressing so far so I might have to use formula for the times I need to leave a bottle eg I am going back to uni in sept so DH will have d for the day!
Ok half hour nap done, that's the longest he will sleep during the day!

JenFraggle · 25/06/2012 10:53

DD is gassing me out. She's over the other side of the room but is still making me want to open the windows!

pommedechocolat · 25/06/2012 11:25

I burst into tears at a sure start group today when A did the whole hungry screaming but not feeding thing so now friends and sure start people are phoning wanting to help. I feel like noone can!

Hitting a bit of a low over here, hopefully the only way is up when A takes a bottle and I can give up sodding bf which has only ever in the history of my children made me feel bad.

ANYWAY, i am having a bit of a giggle at the farting jen!

How did the bed go fishcake?

scarletfingernail · 25/06/2012 12:08

I used my Ergo for the first time this weekend and loved it! We went walking in The National Forest and it didn't feel as though I was carrying anything! DD looked so cosy in it, especially when I pulled the hood over when it started to rain. We went for the 'sport' version as it has slightly longer shoulder straps as DH is so tall, but he didn't get to wear it, I didn't want to take it off. I say this as someone who never wanted or fancied a baby carrier, so I've been turned!

Shame that we all live so far apart, a meet up would be lovely.

Is it bad that I'm relieved England are out of the football? I think I've had to watch every single match of the tournament, not just the England games. I'm hoping DH will lose interest in it all now Hmm

Can't remember who was asking, but there won't be a DC3 here. We both only ever wanted 2 and we enjoy our lifestyle too much to stretch our finances any further. I do feel a bit sad though that DD is already losing her newborness (?) and that I won't experience having a tiny baby again.

Oh Pomme Sad Wish I knew what to suggest.

Re the poos on potty, DS cracked the wee thing ages before poos. Bribery usually works...

Hi Purple, sorry to hear you've had a difficult time with family health problems. Great that DD's loving nursery and that little H is feeding better. What happened re his tongue tie in the end?

Good luck with the potty Dream. We also had one hanging around for a while before we started properly training. DS used to like sitting on it while reading a book Grin

Nice bag Biscuits. I like the Mocha Melody followed by the Duck Egg.

Biscuitsandtea · 25/06/2012 13:00

Glad you loved the ergo Scarlet Smile did you buy it online? Where did you get it from? I'm still v v tempted by one. We used our BB at the weekend as we were going to our village carnival and the field was b muddy so didn't want to take the pram, but I feel guilty now if we use it!

I'm not sure I can even find their own website (plus I'm totally paranoid about fakes now!)

We're the same re dc3 too - no way no how. Not happening. We only even wanted 2 and getting ds2 was a heck of a lot harder than anticipated so I wouldn't want to start on that path again. plus financially I don't think we could afford a third. But I also agree that it's sad that ds2 isn't a newborn anymore and when I see friends with brand new babies I can't believe he was once like that Confused.

I think I'm leaning towards the mocha melody - I like the duck egg pattern but because the bag is quite big I kind of think the mocha melody might look better....

Hope everyone else is ok. Sorry you're still having such a tough time Pomme. Have you had any more joy with the bottle?

scarletfingernail · 25/06/2012 13:08

Good old Amazon Biscuits. I knew I wanted the Sport version and everywhere else only seemed to sell it in black. I didn't want black because I was worried about it getting too hot and Amazon was the only place I could find that it in red. It was actually one of those companies "fulfilled by Amazon" but it must have come from the Amazon warehouse as it was in Amazon packaging. I've checked it's read all using the information on the links you posted Biscuits and it is. Bloody well should be for the price Shock

pommedechocolat · 25/06/2012 13:28

I'm going to the gp this pm and am not leaving until I've got a referal to a specialist (paediatrician i guess?). I've left a message for the hv too. Im not ringing the bf helplines yet as id rather move on to the bottle now.

If anyone knows any other avenue please let me know!

No more joy with bottle!

scarletfingernail · 25/06/2012 13:44

That's a good idea Pomme. I think you can also request an appointment with a community paediatrician if no luck with GP.

Biscuitsandtea · 25/06/2012 13:54

Good luck Pomme. I am going to dust off my brooking pom poms and come along to your GP surgery to fight your corner. Hope they come up with something helpful.

bloody mobile website not working again, i was seriously grumpy last night without it. Angry

we're really going on the holiday for DS1, he is somewhat obsessed with the mouse and friends. DH and i might take turns on a few rollercoasters if we get the chance.

hawthers · 25/06/2012 17:00

Right so I've decided to buy another bloody ergo from an authorised stockist as I'm now too nervous to use my shonky one. BUT I can't figure out on amazon which are the real ones and am paranoid about getting another dud. scarlet can you bung me a link?

Otherwise I thought I'd use first signs as they are price matching and I think they are not fake. Can someone double check it (am going mad with this!) www.first-signs.com/order.html

Biscuitsandtea · 25/06/2012 17:19

Same here Hawthers - I don't know who to trust anymore Confused

I even found a 'proper looking' ergo eu website and then was convincing myself it was dodgy Hmm.

That does indeed look like a good site though (as long as the darn things are genuine!)

Oh and then there's the matter of convincing DH that we should buy one..... Mind you he has approved, nay suggested that I buy a new pacapod instead of an eBay one.

scarletfingernail · 25/06/2012 17:20

Hi Hawthers I can't figure out how to linthe company who supplied it to Amazon are

this one

Looks like they're German. I guess you could look up the Ergos on Amazon and look for that company name. Failing that let me know and I'll have a go at linking it in a PM.

scarletfingernail · 25/06/2012 17:22

Post came out wrong.

Meant to say I can't figure out how to link to Amazon without it displaying my personal details. But I looked up the company who sold it via Amazon.

here

scarletfingernail · 25/06/2012 17:31

this is the one I went for

musicalmrs · 25/06/2012 18:37

Hi all!

Scarlet, I'm a little disappointed that England are out, only because I was contemplating a shopping trip to Ikea or somewhere similarly busy while the match was on. Wink. Spent most of last night's match in bed.

Pomme, sorry you're having such a tough time of it :( Brooking you can get a speedy referral.

Wants, glad D sleeps through lots! :) I is very good at that too - I put it down to hearing lots of loud instruments (including classes of squeaky recorders!) when I was pg!

How did it go with DD1 Fishcake?

Enjoyed all the cat stories :)

Sorry for the radio silence - visited friends on Sat, and then parents visited on Sunday. This week we have family coming to stay for a few days, so might only get a chance to catch up during the night shift.

Have finally managed to 'read' when DD is getting overtired, and have gotten her napping when it's happened over the last few days, hurrah! Just need to spot when she's getting tired now and we'll be cooking with gas. That and getting her to nap for a reasonable amount of time in her basket, rather than in a sling or as a chest frog!

Biscuitsandtea · 25/06/2012 19:41

Ergh ds1 has just done a poo on the carpet Envy

pommedechocolat · 25/06/2012 20:05

Gp reckons reflux and has given us gaviscon. Might be silent reflux I guess? Have googled and am now worried!

Gave her gaviscon this pm and she did do two good feeds before bed but she is a bit better in the evening anyway. We'll see! Gaviscon is a faff but reflux might be an 'easier' thing than a sucking issue I guess!

Got my referral but only after pushing.

Good news on the sleeping musical and oh no yuck to biscuits!!

Biscuitsandtea · 25/06/2012 20:16

Hope the Gaviscon works Pomme. Is it easier to give Gaviscon with bottles?

So what am I brooking for the paediatrician to do?

OP posts:
TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 25/06/2012 20:23

Brooking for the Gaviscon to work, Pomme.

Gotta go, M howling like a banshee with DH swinging her. I just wanted to go in the bath while it was hot!

pommedechocolat · 25/06/2012 21:04

Not sure biscuits! Make her calm and happy with good feeding and sleep patterns I think! She always, always has her fist in her mouth and that does seem to be a sign of silent reflux according to dr google. It would seem dairy free for bf mums also a good option - need to find dairy free chocolate and milk!

You can just put Gaviscon in the formula if you're doing bottles. With bf you have to mix it with water and do it on a spoon or syringe. Got to work out how to do it out and about now and when to do it and how much etc etc.

Boo for the bath Too!

DreamingOfPeace · 25/06/2012 21:13

pomme, I hope its reflux because its so treatable and as she's gained weight fine til recently not overly serious. My DD had reflux, dropped more than two centiles on the red book chart but she has totally grown out of it now.

Ben still refluxes, feeds loads, never extends time between feeds and is generally an unsettled baby. However, he is improving slowly and they almost all do. A toddler who goes to olaygrouo was referred for no/extremely poor weight gain through reflux and was bf and its such a PITA to gaviscon a bf baby she didn't in the end and he's just fine too. So try not to worry. It's good you've got your referral as gaviscon is certainly well known to not be so great with bf babies, I think as it mainly thickened milk so is easiest in bottles, and you usually need a paediatrician to prescribe ranitidine. I hear its easier to give and much better. If ben wasn't improving that's what I'd be going for next. I will Brook No Argument things improve fast for you.

Just want to say, I'm playing a White Noise cd (womb to world) in the boys room, really loud, it sounds like an aeroplane is taking off in there but they're both fast asleep!!! Shock .Ben was so upset, usual colicky/cottage cheese puking refluxy style and he settled with it on in 10 min, asleep in my arms. I am hoping this is my miracle :) :) . If so, I'm definitely reviewing that on Amazon!!!!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 25/06/2012 21:22

Does cottage cheese/mucusy puke mean something is wrong? M does that pretty often. Sometimes it's just the thin whitish sick but multiple times a day it's the cottage cheese kind. Confused But she's a pretty contented baby (bar tonight when she's been howling a lot).

DreamingOfPeace · 25/06/2012 21:27

I'd try it for A too pomme, I'm seriously sold so far. It's for any kind of poor sleeper/ colic apparently. Seb just been stirring, opening eyes etc, normally I'd end up feeding him back to sleep, instead I just whacked up the volume and he resettled. Job done. :) . Shame DD is stillawake...
