Spend more time in the garden, I mean. And Purple your cats sound lovely too - I like the thought of taking your cat for a walk in the park! :)

PetWoman · 24/06/2012 16:57

Awww Wants loving the smiles.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/06/2012 17:49

I used to have a cat who followed us on walks - we would hear her meowing frantically as she got left behind trying to negotiate long grass and boggy puddles, and Dad would end up carrying her. Grin

Jaggy, I am so so so Envy of your holiday plan! I went on a school trip when I was about 14, and then again aged 20 - loved it! Still, all the best rides have a height limitation. I was storing it up for when M is tall enough to go on the rollercoasters.

I also have family in Lancashire!

Am trying to feed M to sleep so can Shred. We went for short walk with her facing forward in the BabyBjorn and she was fascinated watching the scenery, so hopefully that's tired her out a bit.

Ok, Brookers stand by. Shopping advice needed.

I think I'm going to buy a Pacapod change bag. I've got a 10% off code for Mummy and Little Me and they give 6% cash back on quidco. That makes hen almost as cheap as you can get them second hand on eBay. So now I have to pick which one.

Please advise - I'm looking at this page and deciding between the Almora in Sand or Black (at £75) or the Napier in Black/Charcoal, Mocha Melody or Duck Egg Blue.

Your thoughts?

OP posts:
pommedechocolat · 24/06/2012 18:32

Napier! I had the Almora (might have got confused and said Napier previously, I can now see I was wrong!), a friend had the Napier and it was better. The pods are an awesome system.

Too - I used the sling for the first time in ages today and A also had her first go facing outwards. She liked it bar the wind!

Biscuitsandtea · 24/06/2012 18:45

What's better about the Napier Pomme? I've looked at a friend's almora but never looked at a real life Napier.....

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 24/06/2012 18:46

Also, Pomme, do you not use it anymore? Why not?

OP posts:
pommedechocolat · 24/06/2012 19:04

I used it for a year or so Biscuits so partly I got bored :) but mainly because with the Almora the zip bit is so small my purse, phone etc would be in the open middle bit with toys etc. I always felt a bit nervous about it.

The Napier is bigger and seems to have more space for your stuff outside of the pods. The pods are good though.

I still have it though, I used it when I went into hospital to have dd2, so I might use it again one day. I'm not convinced it would be big enough for two little monkeys things either tbh (although I still carry nappies for dd1).

Actually on nappies etc dd1 totally mastering potty for sees but not at all for poos which a friends told me was very unusual. Is it? How can I persuade her to stop poohing everywhere?!

Biscuitsandtea · 24/06/2012 19:20

Pomme I thought it was perfectly normal to master wees a long time before poos? Ds1 certainly did. No real tips though about how to not poo everywhere. Is she pooing in pants or on the floor? When DS would have a poo accident I tried to stay calm (Hmm) but I would just say that he had to stop playing while I tidied it up. So I'd get him to stand by the sink while I washed out the dirty clothes. I was trying (don't know if it really worked) to not make it a punishment but to make it so that there was a consequence of not bothering to go to the loo.

Thanks for the info re the Pacapod. Sounds like the Napier would be the best as I have quite a big purse and the space for my stuff is important. I guess I'm lucky to not have to carry two lots of nappies so all I'd ever have for ds1 would be the odd drink or toy.

Now what colour?

OP posts:
DreamingOfPeace · 24/06/2012 19:36

I'm voting duck egg blue.

DreamingOfPeace · 24/06/2012 19:38

I also heard wees easier to master than poos... I think.

I have just ordered DD a potty. Gulp. But she's pointing at her nappy and whimpering loads. No idea if she's ready but may as well have one around and introduce the idea...

pommedechocolat · 24/06/2012 20:05

I vote for charcoal or duck egg!

Okay, will stop worrying about her being wired up wrong now Grin

biscuits - in pants bar one which was luckily in the garden. I have been putting her in the sink and cleaning her off. Mistake maybe? Think she thinks it's fun... Once when we had friends round the other two toddlers were crowded round me peering up at her while she shouted 'I've done poo poo' at them' ...

pommedechocolat · 24/06/2012 20:06

Good luck dream!

hawthers · 24/06/2012 20:11

Having recently gone through the potty training mill I'd say poos are harder than wees. Ours just took time and now its clicked he rarely has a poo accident. Although he used to be really good and sat when he needed a wee but he's stopped doing this. I take him for a wee before we go out it before meals but its really unusual for him to ask to have a wee. Consequently we've had a coupe of wee accidents recently. Should stop taking him si while he may have more accidents initially he might then learn to tell me again or just carry on what I'm doing and he'll naturally just get it. Anyone git any ideas?

Biscuitsandtea · 24/06/2012 20:34

We had that too Hawthers. For us, DS never liked (and still doesn't) to be 'taken' so I went with the option of leaving him to it, and then if he had accidents, dealing with them as I said earlier. He was pretty good at taking himself (and still is now). I do however have a 'rule' that we go last thing at night, first thing in the morning and before we go in the car etc.

Biscuitsandtea · 24/06/2012 20:35

I think I like duck egg but worry it will get dirty when I inevitably fail to look after it

OP posts:
DreamingOfPeace · 24/06/2012 20:43

I doubt I'll get anywhere as I don't think DD is ready but she refuses to lie down for nappy changes, has done for about 3.5 months now so I don't think it'll pass any more. (I had hoped the standing up nappies were just another phase) and standing up pooey nappies are difficult and vile- she eats lots of fruit and sometimes little else. Yuck yuck yuck. So I'm dead keen even if she isn't :) She's in pull ups just to get them on her anyway.

I'm really fed up of no evenings. Tonight both boys are cluster feeding. It's just a bit depressing as DD started off like these two but was sleeping through sometimes by now. So now I just think there's no end in sight...

DreamingOfPeace · 24/06/2012 20:46

Yes, I think so too biscuits . It'll stand out among the millions of black boots parenting club ones too then. Nah, dirty won't be a big issue >denial?!>

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/06/2012 20:47

I was going to vote sand, but if the Napier is the bag of choice then I vote duck egg. Try baby wipes for cleaning? Have started using them for everything - began using them to get baby sick off the sofa and it snowballed from there.

Like the description of washing DD1 in the sink, Pomme!

Have Shredded again, hurray! Today I can do fewer press-uos than yesterday Hmm.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/06/2012 20:49

This too shall pass, Dream!

DreamingOfPeace · 24/06/2012 22:10

Not passing quickly enough....

pomme your DD sounds very sweet and very bright. I'm sure she'll get there but I have no experience to help!

Go too, go too!!! Just because you worked your muscles so hard yesterday, tired innit?!

DreamingOfPeace · 24/06/2012 22:11

Your DD1 that is. Sure DD2 is too & bet she'd fit in the sink better

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 24/06/2012 22:17

Too I'm the same! Every day the strength exercises get harder, especially the push ups! It's shockingly difficult to find 20 minutes in the day to do the routine as well! Still, I managed to kick start the paleo diet today! So I'm counting Day 2 as a success! How did it go for Fishcake? And the dieters?

Good luck introducing the potty Dream!

One vote for mocha melody here Biscuits! As you know, I'm a big fan of the pods as well!

Jaggy ooooo enjoy your hol! I haven't been there for a few years but I loved it as a kid!!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/06/2012 22:24

Yes, DH was in charge of M and she cried for most of the 20 mins. If I'd been on my own then the Shred would have had to be abandoned. Little pickle child looking like she was about to fall asleep and then waking right up as soon as she was put down!

Yes, good luck with the potty, Dream! Mum is always saying how she potty trained us when we were 18 months Hmm so 23 months-ish might be a goer. (Disclaimer: I know less than nothing about potty-training and it's entirely possible Mum is forgetting a few minor details like a few months on our ages)

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 24/06/2012 22:38

My mother has an equally suspect memory Too!

DD has been fussy and constantly sucking on her little fist for days now. There's no way she could be teething at 8 weeks is there?! What are the signs of teething?
