Lovely to see you Purple Smile

Sorry you're having a tough time though - lots of hugs and Thanks coming your way xx

Very glad to hear that the feeding has improved for you - well done indeed Smile

Just a quick nip in to say hi and good morning. DS2 just finished feeding and ds1 stayed with his granny last night so I'm off back to bed for a hopeful lie in if ds2 will go back to sleep Smile

Lovely to see you purple . Sorry to hear about how hard its been.

After a 'normal' night with the boys I'm wondering if Seb did sleep 7.5 hours or if I actually fed each baby once instead of Ben twice from when he finally went down?? Confused . Either way, dh did 4-6am so that helped a lot.

Uh oh, yet more howling... Laters brookers

pommedechocolat · 24/06/2012 11:23

Purple! Good to hear from you, glad to hear about feeding/nursery, not very glad to hear about your relatives, sorry to hear about that bit of news.

Baby no 3 is NOT happening in this household. Two is fine :)

A had a fit over the NUK bottle with dh this morning but I think he may try again with the tommee tippee one this pm. She did however go down for a nap just now by sucking on my little finger!!! It's not a proper suck though, I can so see what the co means. Its some very, very efficient sucking that feels and looks like hard work, then some lolling around, rinse and repeat. Poor thing.

I do think the co has helped though, she is calmer, going down for sleeps at naps much better and feeding screaming is lessening. No better at night though!

Dream - I'm surprised that's the first time you've had that doubt, I'm sure I'd be totally confused about who I was feeding when if I were you. I'd probably try to bf the toddler and feed casserole to the baby but I am so, so stupid with sleep deprivation at the moment that I cannot imagine how I'd be on less sleep.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/06/2012 11:52

A meet-up would be so cool...Jaggy and I are in Scotland (I have a vague idea of where Jaggy is but I don't want to guess on the public forum) and Dream is somewhere northern as well, like Yorkshire or Cumbria, is that right? Anyone else reasonably northern-ish or considering visiting northern rellies? But it would be nice for us all to meet. Hmm.

Boo for a normal night, Dream. But I seem to recall that M would take a big leap forwards in terms of sleep, then revert for a few night, then do it again.

Hope you got more sleep, Biscuits.

Purple, lovely to see you back! So sorry to hear about the bad times. Sad But yay for belly laughs and pain-free feeding! On DC3, well, we are definitely aiming for at least one more. I'm planning to start trying after my 30th birthday next October (depending on how fast I conceived there would be 2 and a bit years between children) but if an accident happened between now and then it wouldn't be the end of the world. After DC3 we'll see where we are...no 4 may or may not be on the cards depending on how horrific my next pregnancy is in terms of stress. And there's always the twin potential - it would be so cool to have 3 generations of twins in the family!

Scream, I bought Dr Briffa's book Escape The Diet Trap (on Kindle) which was really good. He also has a blog, and there's a site called Mark's Daily Apple which has amazing success stories and a forum for chat. Also, there's a thread running here which is a bit more hard-core low-carb, but has great tips and recipe ideas.

jaggythistle · 24/06/2012 11:54

sorry purple, having actually read your post you might have more important things to worry about than links Blush

been out for test drive to the park with new pram, it's v nice. R looked v comfy in his carrycot bit and fell asleep by the end of the street.

everybody a bit tired and hungry now so chaos may ensue, but it was nice to get DS1 out of the house.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 24/06/2012 12:14

Big hugs for Purple. It's lovely to 'see' you, I'm so sorry to hear about your family's health problems. No brooking for you and them. Glad your DC are doing so well though! How wonderful to hear a belly laugh!!

Musical and Pet I love the cute cat stories! One of my two really adores A, she always sits right next to whoever is holding A. When I'm feeding A on the sofa this cat will always try to climb up onto my lap next to her! (There isn't really room though). My other cat is still pretending A doesn't exist, I think she's still hoping its just a temporary arrangement! Grin

Dream sorry to hear about another sleepless night. Fingers crossed that this is just a momentary setback, now that S has led the way I'm sure they'll both get the hang of sleeping through in no time. They're almost 3 months old now, you are well overdue some respite! Soon you'll be at the even more gorgeously cute stage where you'll have beautiful DC all playing together, and you'll be able to fully appreciate it because you've had enough sleep to be able to see straight!

Thanks for all the diet tips Too! I don't have a great track record with diets so I'm a little nervous...

TMI warning... I think I had ewcm yesterday! I'm going to be very unimpressed if AF rocks up in two weeks' time! Grr!

Got to go and Shred now before our guests get here! Good luck to everyone on Day 2 of shredding/dieting, stay strong!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 24/06/2012 12:19

P.s Wow to the hardcore No Brookers considering the next DC already! I'm so besotted with PFB that I can finally understand why people do it more than once! Grin

I'm still out of the game for a biological DC2 though, unless I win the jackpot on the lottery and can afford to not work for the entire pregnancy plus hire help to look after DC1 for the 6 months I can't walk. Unlikely!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/06/2012 13:12

Scream, I was super emotional and grumpy yesterday morning, plus didn't feel well and had lower back ache. I was convinced AF was about to make her return, but then it all went away and no sign yet. Have to say, immediately post-birth bleeding I had no mucus at all, absolutely nothing, and this went on for a few weeks and then gradually it came back to kind of low-normal levels. I thought when it first reappeared that it might be a sign of AF returning but it wasn't.

Give the paleo diet a try - it has the upside of being able to cook with butter, eggs and double cream and make most delicious food! DH is the cook here and he's been going to town with home-made mayonnaise, hollandaise, baked trout in full-fat coconut milk...mmm. I tried the Dukan diet a year ago and gave up because everything tasted hideous (it's low carb and low fat). This one is surprisingly easy to stick to, although I did feel a bit ill the first couple of mornings as my body adjusted to no sugar or starch. Tis worth it, though!

DH has taken M to the supermarket after we had a discussion about me never getting time off. He said I got downtime when she's asleep, which is true but not enough! Grr. We're both going to Shred when he gets back and M can lie in her baby gym and laugh at us. I have cleaned up the kitchen, put the dishwasher and the washing machine on and am now free to MN in peace. Look at me being domestic! By the way, my whole body aches after Shredding yesterday! My pecs are sore from the bloody push-ups. I don't remember aching like this when I did it the last time.

Yay for new pram, Jaggy!

That's good that A is calmer, Pomme. Maybe in a few days it will translate into calmer nights too. I had to stare at your post for ages before I worked out what co stood for - doh!

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 24/06/2012 14:06

Hi! Jaggy it must this one bloody love it, I do. (Where is that a quote from?) anyway it hasn't liked being tumble dried but it so lovely and JoJo is a mumsnet partner so discount to be had especially if you got through topcashback or similar :)

What pushchairs have people got? And what is Rs name? Sorry if it is a secret, just not sure if I missed the name. :)

Thanks for the well wishes, I have had so much on and just gah. Lol

I have had a few moments wondering if Af was about to put an appearance, but not so far. Strange as I was about 8 weeks with Dd.
DC3 will be dependant on me fixing my muscles, and still not 100% on it... However, rather try sooner than later as Dc2 was hard to come by so having a healthy pregnancy that sticks could take awhile and be lovely to be finished with nappies soon.

Music and cat people, I have two cats, one is a ginger tom, who is a complete thicko, truly. He is very soppy and Dd can pick him up and haul him around with only the occasional scratch. My other cat is gorgeous white fluffy thing, she loves cuddles and likes to come to the park with us lol but she has only just recovered from us having a baby and had the right hump about it, I think she would much prefer to be the only cat though.

If any of you visit Devon it would be lovely to meet you. Dream you are on my to visit list as I have family in Cumbria and Lancashire so pretty sure I could stop by you if I visit them. The only problem being I need to learn to drive... Although I am hoping to this year :)

Forgotten what else I was going to say now :s

jaggythistle · 24/06/2012 14:18

I just don't like to be searchable - paranoid about being anonymousish me . It's R o s s :)

jaggythistle · 24/06/2012 14:28

our new pushchair/pram

away to nosey at JoJo stuff...

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 24/06/2012 14:34

Lovely name! I know what you mean about being anonymousish I am so easily identifiable :s But then I though I probably don't post about anything that is embarrassing or they wouldn't know anyway??

Swish pushchair, very nice fold and a good price too! Which colour did you get?

Biscuitas I think we were talking about purple fabs for Cameleon? I managed to find some! Lovely they are :)

jaggythistle · 24/06/2012 14:35

PS chaos did ensue - see my Jaffa cake AIBU Grin

jaggythistle · 24/06/2012 14:38

we got black with black frame. the idea is for it to fold up small in the boot for driving away on holiday. Might not be able to take the carrycot if no room, but it goes completely flat anyway....

Biscuitsandtea · 24/06/2012 14:45

Jaggy YAsoooooooooNBU re the Jaffa cakes Grin

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 24/06/2012 14:46

And yes the purple cam fabrics are lush but I can't be so stalker ish to my SIL, and anyway DH won't let me get new ones

OP posts:
jaggythistle · 24/06/2012 14:52

I think we will be stopping at 2 DC, unless I also win the lottery and end up with a big house and nothing better to do Grin.

Nowhere to keep any more just now and probably couldn't really afford it.

I agree scream making your own wee people could be quite addictive...

JenFraggle · 24/06/2012 14:53

If any of you do pop to Devon to see Purple then feel free to continue through to Cornwall to see me :)

jaggythistle · 24/06/2012 14:59

I've never been to either Jen, maybe my next holidays :) We've got a car with a big boot to do driving holidays for a while while DC are tiny so who knows where we might go.

pommedechocolat · 24/06/2012 15:16

oo jaggy you're in most active now!

jaggythistle · 24/06/2012 15:17

hehe! they're both asleep after all that stereo screaming, should really get more washing on....

jaggythistle · 24/06/2012 15:18

Can you tell I am having a Mumsnet posting frenzy? Not had time to post on the computer for weeks! Blush

DreamingOfPeace · 24/06/2012 15:27

Oooh, yes purple, I'm north lancashire. Very near cumbria, so much so I'm hoping on a cumbrian high school if my brood don't get into grammar school. A meet up would be so lovely if highly impractical due to our diverse locations . I reckon I'm most likely to meet jaggy as dh and i come up your way, and too. Though i have said I'd fancy a devon holiday purple, its so beautiful.

I would consider dc4. I love love love my boys but I feel stretched so thin, I never have time to enjoy newborn snuggles for long as t'other one will be shouting, I don't enjoy tandem feeding, its hard for me and boys to all be comfortable and DD is missing out more as if dh and i are both caught up with fractious babies she really gets neglected... I adore my boys, and I know the twin benefits are when they're a bit bigger so I'm just not there yet, but that doesn't lessen the spread-too-thin guilt or busyness of the minute. And its tiring . And feeding takes too long! Plus, I find the thought of never having another baby :(

I'm way too easily identified on here. I should take action....

Wants3 · 24/06/2012 15:43

Never say never to dc3! Look at me with my 17 year gap. We are loving having a baby in the house:)
We have had real smiles this week ( definitely not wind because it starts in the eyes and is not fleeting) it makes it all worth while.

PetWoman · 24/06/2012 16:48

Hi Purple - sorry to hear about serious illness in your family. Very sad. Glad H is doing well though.

I'd like DC2 but DH remains adamant that one is enough. :(

Musical and Scream your cats sound lovely. I think mine is pretending DS isn't there. This morning in bed I was stroking the cat and DS started squirming and squawking on DH's lap - the cat looked alarmed and made a swift exit. I fear once DS is mobile the cat may spend mire time in the garden...

The dog is friendly with DS but a bit over-energetic - I have to keep an eye on her in case she tries to lick him enthusiastically.

Pomme Grin at feeding casserole to the baby and bfing the toddler!

Jaggy glad the new pram is a success.

Dream is DT1's colic getting better, or do you think he's just getting better at sleeping?

Hawthers 5 mile run?! Wow! My thighs are aching after 2.5km! I'm going to have to increase the distance gradually...
