Yay! Last night felt more like our normal with some snuffly dream feeds but no real waking, no crying due to snottiness & no mucusy/pooey nappies; I feel sooo much better after a semi-decent night's sleep :) I slept 11-7. He barely napped yesterday because of the heat so maybe that had something do with it? He's only cat napped so far today too.

Unfortunately my newly mobile baby is spinning when he should be sleeping; I woke up at one point with a foot in my mouth >_< No sleep crawling pleeeeease!

Kitty sorry to hear about your accident. DS somehow managed to roll off the sofa & possibly (I didn't see) bump his head on the coffee table when he was just a couple of weeks old (over a cushion too Confused) it was awful but once I was sure he was ok I accepted that these things do happen & I'm not the worst mother in world. Sure your SIL won't hold it against you.

Oi glad Boi was ok. I have that book from the library...banana muffins are yummy but too easy to make & eat! Liked the lentil quiche too but I'm sure when I ate it DS got very windy Confused

Sorry your day out has been cancelled msb. Any chance he'll feel well enough tomorrow?

Bah and triple bah. Bought a new paddling pool in an attempt to rescue the day...it will not hold water!

Beer now.

Hopefully we can buy DS some new vests and babygrows tomorrow....he's 5 months and a few days and he's outgrown 6-9 month size....!

Hello, I managed to fall off the last thread!

kitty sorry to hear about the accident, I hope you've stopped beating yourself up over it and SIL is understanding.

kate enjoy the holiday!

msb hope you have a better day tomorrow.

We raised £1636 at the quiz last night! DS is still in his cast and the chicks are still extremely cute even though the house smells of chicken poo

I'm having trouble finding a clay impression kit. We have one of DS that came in a wall mountable frame with room for a photo from mothercare. I want one similar for DD so they don't look odd but I can't find one anywhere! Any suggestions?

Sun is shining! Hope you all have a lovely day!

I really felt for you MsB when even the paddling pool didn't work out!

We had a lovely day at friends' party (thankfully she has several grandsons and so their parents had come prepared with lots of sun cream that we could snaffle, as we'd not got round to buying any yet Blush) but not a great night.

DS wouldn't settle, and according to DP has woken lots in the night. It's a bugger, after months of having no issue with bedtime wear (next to mummy- little vest; in cot-full length onesie and gro bag/baby worm) we can't seem to settle on something that he's happy with.

So DP has gone back to bed, and we're off for a coffee in the back garden (me, not DS that is Grin!)

Coffee sounds like a fab idea! Eva was up at 4.40.

Still no period, I'm officially late. DH said he'll get me a test this afternoon if he gets time.

seven mamas n papas do a framed mould thing. They are £20 I think, and perhaps 7 - 8" square.
Gorgeous here again. No plans. I sent BOi out yesterday in his best new sunny outfit with DH and a camera with clear instructions to take pics. None!!
I don't like my haircut. I picked something funky and shorter and choppy. I seem to have left the shop with a smooth, very dull bob. :(
Have decided that BOi definitely needs a haircut. I think it's got to the point that it's only cute to his family, who are blinded by love. To everyone else he has a comb-over in the style of an 80's football manager.

OOh, ooh, coffee this end too!

Ds is teething and clingy again, though no sign of actual teeth. I feel a bit rubbish giving him neurofen alll the time (he's had a dose a day for the last 3 days) but it clearly settles him, and I have to remind myself that if he were 6 and able to complaing of pain I'd have an indicatoe. As it is I check all the standard list before giving any and it does seem to settle him about 30 mins after he gets it so I guess it's justified. Am still a bit paranoid re him getting overheated but that's just me being cautious.

Talking of which, honey, R is now getting to that age where the cot death risk drops off : I hope you're feeling less concerned about that now that he's getting bigger as I remember you said it was an understandable worry for you?

msb, I suggest the plastic-tub varient of paddling pool (plastic storage boxes/trugs/washing up bowls cull of water on a tarp or picnic rug). S'wot we did last year when faced with an acute puncture situation! Or take back the pool and swap if you have the energy!

Morning! Thank you all for the sympathy, DP cheered me up by making sangria.

oi crapness! I hate it when hairdressers don't listen! I spent ages with a very dull cut, I think the hairdressers were thinking 'Mum cut' when they did mine...I am not ready to be sensible.

As BOi gets bigger, I think my hair will get shorter. When he's 18months, I'll be back to my skinhead days. Not sure I can carry it off so well when I'm 40! (but it'd be sooooo much easier! Wish I could!)

this way please. Eva has been in a teething screaming grump all day, and only sleeping in short bursts therefore I've got nothing done. DH had to hold her while she was screaming for literally 10 minutes so I could eat my tea (after I held her while he ate his first) and said it'd be a relief to go back to work. How does he think I feel having to do it all sodding day, sometimes I think it'd be lovely to hand her over while she screaming and go out. No offence to any mums who are back at work! He also asked how many times I'd put her cream on her face today. I said I hadn't as she'd been screaming all day so I hadn't had a chance to. He then asked how many times I'd been on my phone today Angry. Clearly I'm such a shit mother that my phone is more important than my children.

Poor you and poor Eva, seven, prolongued crying is exhausting for all concerned. really hope she feels a bit better soon, if she's really uncomfy get out the big guns (ibuprofen or paracetamol syrup).

A little bit of sitting occurred today! Ok, I sat him up, he didn't do it himself, but he managed a good minute before toppling over. Rolling, however, has no interest whatsoever yet (which is handy as he stays where you plonk him).
