Babygros all the way here. I'm too lazy to dress him properly yet.

I did the 30 day shred instead of going to the gym. I think the gym would have been easier.

LittleMissFlustered · 10/05/2012 01:16

Four hours, think his chest woke him up. Both boys are rattling and wheezing in this wet weather:(

MissRee the closed toe dungies I have are next and mothercare ones, but they're hand-me-downs so I'm not sure you'd still get them:/ WOrth looking though:) I love things with closed toes, which is why there is so much babygro wearing, that and it's hard to find soft clothes for boys. What is the obsession with denim for baby clothes? 'tis neither practical or warm! :o

In other news, it needs to not rain while I'm sat feeding. I usually love the noise but my bladder thinks it 's a cue to promt me to go downstairs. I don't want to go downstairs, it's cold and the cats hear me and start demanding to be allowed out of the kitchen >_<

Hope everyone else is still asleep:)

I can't do this. I don't know what to do Sad

Sprog effectively woke up at 4am (after 2 night feeds between 8 and 4). He would sleep after a bf in my arms, but as soon as he went in the cot he cried. DH took him at 6, but they were back in bed at 7 for a feed - he then slept with me until DS1 got up for school at 7,40.

Tonight he went to bed after a fair bit of persuasion. Sometimes he does cry a bit but settles of I sit next to the cot and re-dummy of necessary.

He woke just after 10pm for a feed, which is pretty normal at the mo. then he just wouldn't go back to sleep. He would fall asleep on my boob, then jolt awake as I put him down - then no amount of resettling would sort him. He didn't particularly cry - it was an ongoing "uh huh uh huh uh huh whinge. Gave calpol in case it was teeth. He also helpfully started dropping his dummy down the side of the cot and the wall.

He FINALLY went to sleep just after midnight. And now he's awake again. He's had a brief feed and fallen asleep again. Just about to put him down but I have a feeling it's going to be another crap night. I can't continue on this little sleep. I don't know what to do.

hawthers · 10/05/2012 02:43

minst I hear you. Every 2 hours last night and tonight is shaping up to be the same.....

MimsyBorogroves · 10/05/2012 03:41

It's torture, isn't it? I'm up again, and he's still refusing to feed because he's not hungry and he's wide awake.

So what happens tomorrow when he's knackered and wants to sleep all day?

LittleMissFlustered · 10/05/2012 04:12

I don't have an answer I'm afraid. At this age it truly is just a case of rolling with it:(

Double teaming air didnt go to sleep untill 12 and now hope up :(

hawthers · 10/05/2012 05:27

Up again

MimsyBorogroves · 10/05/2012 05:38

Must be in the air tonight.

aethelfleda · 10/05/2012 06:43

Aaarg, I feel your pain mimsy and others. I reckon it's the weather. dS had an awful night: up at 11, 3, 4,,4.30 and 6.... And lousy at settling back in the cot. I had awful half sleep, it's really close and I had an awful dream about DS getting meningitis. Generally just arg.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 10/05/2012 06:50

Sorry to see you ladies had another rough night. Sky woke at 4:30 but was very quickly back asleep and is still asleep now.

Mimsy Think your just going to have to be brave and leave him to cry as he will eventually drop off to sleep and try and keep him awake during the day. My sympathies as horrible trying to function on little or no sleep!

AnAirOfHope · 10/05/2012 07:54

Air up for the day now and stil annoy as ever whing and not listening to me. Really hope its just a phase.

HoneyLovesCake · 10/05/2012 08:01

Not as bad as you ladies but DS woke in the wee hours; no idea what time as I've banished clocks from the bedroom (far too depressing) but he did an enormous poo Shock. Managed to get him back down but he was up at 6 for an even bigger poo Shock Shock & I could not get him back to sleep so we're up & if he's sticking to his one nap a day schedule then he should be ready for it just as Sing & Sign class starts

As if I don't get nervous enough meeting new people, I'm going to look a state, DS was tearing at my hair & face for the last half hour in bed so my hair's a fuzzy mess, my face is scratched & my eyes are red & bleary :(

I was given a load of 3-6 clothes by SIL so DS is in more "real" clothes than I would have chosen as that's what she gave me. She gave me a few pairs of these though which look very cute & I have cotton dungarees which I bought, both footed & non...MissRee you can buy them on ebay if Mothercare don't still have them. I find the feet in Next grows etc too small for DS which is a shame as there's so much on ebay. Think I'll be reverting back to grows for 6-9 months though as I miss him looking like a little baby >_

CherryBlossom27 · 10/05/2012 08:22

Morning all!

DS is not really sleeping at all in the day unless I take him out for a walk, in which case he will sleep for an hour and that's it. He slept from 10pm until 6.30am last night, he woke me up at midnight as he had rolled onto his tummy and got stuck, so I got up and rolled him onto his side and he fell back asleep. A couple more nights like this and I might feel I've got some energy!

Got absolutely soaked yesterday on our walk, I have broken my umbrella and my coat doesn't have a hood....cue torrential downpour! Hate squelching wet trainers, they are now stinking of grass :( Going to have to get a coat with a hood as pushchairs and umbrellas aren't compatible.

On the weaning front, I gave DS half a banana yesterday mashed up with a bit of milk which he gobbled down in no time at all! The poo was pretty rank as it had black threads, I googled this and apparently it's quite normal for banana poo Shock

Mimsy I hope your LO gives you a break soon! Is there anyone that could take her out for a walk whilst you get a nap?

Sorelip · 10/05/2012 08:34

Oh Cherry, banana poo is absolutely rank! Carrot poo wasn't terrible, but not exactly pleasant either.

DS was up half an hour earlier than normal, and is now watching CBeebies. The nappies I bought loads of have been isolated as being the cause of his leg rash Angry

We will possibly go swimming today. I dunked DS in the bath last night and he was OK, so hopefully that bodes well.

Figgygal · 10/05/2012 08:44

Morning

Well after not sleeping from 3 yesterday pm DS went down at 8 woke at 2 for his night feed and then until 6.45, as much as I'm disappointed he's back to waking at night he does go straight back down with his bottle so could be worse and as its been going on for 2 weeks am back in the swing of it.

Thanks for reminder on sign and sing I've got the DVD too forgot about it must dig it out today.

Today we off to PIL as its mil birthday putting on the charm as I need a babysitter so can go see the avengers Grin

OiMissus · 10/05/2012 08:46

Yep, rough night here again too. And I have to get up at 5:45 and go to work. I'm hoping that we'll settle into this routine within a week or so and he'll learn to sleep longer. BOi is all cosy and happy now at Grandma's and will probably catch up on his sleep nicely, as he did yesterday, from 10 til 1!!
Hey ho! A hot shower and 2 buckets (one caffeine, one make up) do the trick to get me into the land of the living again.
lmf I do not know the obsession with jeans for babies. They are just not baby-friendly. But I've got some lovely combat style trousers with soft linings that I love. He doesn't look quite right in dungarees. Hee hee - can I admit to taking clothes back? I bought him a sweet little outfit from mamas and papas as something special, but the pinky floral shirt just didn't suit him at all. It sounds odd for a baby, doesn't it? Hmm

Sorelip · 10/05/2012 08:57

Is the Sing and Sign DVD any good?

Rashkakeller · 10/05/2012 09:46

Sorry some of you got bob awful nights, sounds grim.

Asa went down at 7.30, woke for an unusual 11pm feed then went back down until 6.40am. After refusing to sleep in his cot yesterday arvo, he fell asleep without having a decent 7pm feed hence the 11pm wake up.

I have few pairs of jeans for ds but they are the elasticated waist, softly lined kind which feel nice. Can't work the proper denim with a button kind! I love him in his shirts but they aren't very practical and always ride up his back!

Today, Boo and I have showered so need to get dressed and breakfast before Asa gets bored if Firefly Freddie. We have friends round this morning and Gps round later plus I have to pop out and buy a party cake as don't want the pressure of making a cake for 25 children! My choc cake is for her actual birthday so we can eat it to ourselves :)

EasilyBored · 10/05/2012 10:17

Blurgh, the no-sleeping is catching. Squeaky man was up at 4 this morning, and crying - which is very unlike him. Wondering if it was teeth, or wind maybe? Eventually just caved at about half 5 and gave up trying to resettle him and brought him into bed with me. Had to keep him swaddled though, as he has a tendancy to punch me in the face otherwise. Am going to go for a nap later on I think, once we've been to baby clinic and had him weighed.

I have a couple of pairs of jean - the stretchy waist kind, but they are a nightmare to get on, and I find it really hard to tell how full his nappy is when he's wearing them. I love dungarees on him too, but baby grows are so so much easier.

Does anyone know how much milk a 16lb 4 and half month old should be having? He's been eating between 25 and 30oz a day, but this seem slike much less than the box says he should be having. He wont take more than 6 oz in a feed, ever! So he has about 5 feeds a day, and sometimes a little snack bottle if he seems hungry inbetween feeds. Should I offer him water and then hope he's hungry enough to drink all his milk later? I'm getting him weighed today as I'm paranoid he's looking thinner.

Well jel of the cake Rash!

Oi, don't know how on earth you do it. I would DIE if I had to go to work at the minute.

I went through all his clothes the other night, and there are bags and bags of stuff he has grown out of, but I just can't imagine giving them away at the minute. We're not planning anymore babies, ever, so is it totally mental that I want to keep all his lovely little clothes? Some of the stuff is so so so tiny, I feel like I can't even remember him being that small!

Figgy, Avengers is brilliant! Enjoy!

Mimsy, have a gallon of Brew or even Wine I get a bit punchy when my childless friends complain about being tired. "Tired?! TIRED?! I BRUSHED MY TEETH WITH HANDSOAP THE OTHER DAY, I WAS SO F*CKING TIRED I DIDN'T NOTICE! Oooh, yes, it would be lovely if you cuddled the baby while I go for a nap. Whatever made you offer to do that?"

OiMissus · 10/05/2012 10:17

Mmmm thoughts of cake. :)
BOi is 5 months old today, that probably deserves to be marked with cake, n'est-ce pas? Especially as his stupid dad has decided to play squash tonight and booked a court for 7pm.
So DH said goodbye to us at 6:30am, and he'll go straight from work to the squash court, getting home I guess around 8.30pm when BOi will be tucked up and asleep. I don't get it. I'm not particularly bothered about it, as BOi and I are quite happy alone. But I just don't get it. I understand that he wants to get some exercise. But why would you choose that time? If I badly needed to get to the gym (ha!), I'd go after 8pm when he's asleep, so that I wouldn't miss those precious moments with him, and he wouldn't miss his time with me.
As I said, I don't mind - more snuggle time for me! - but I'm a bit disappointed that Daddy isn't that bothered.

Morning all.

My little man gave me the best birthday present EVER....on Monday night I had two blocks of 4 hours UNINTERUPTED SLEEP, and last night I went to bed at 11 leaving him alseep on Daddy. Assume Daddy gave him a bottle as he woke at 5.15 and then 10am.

Have absolutley no faith that this is our new routine, but am taking the sleep whilst I can!

We have missed Ryme Time though. There seems to be an obsession down here with baby classes at 9.15...I guess this is great for those with older kids who can go straight from the school or nursery run, but I'm generally having a lie in to catch up with the 3 or 4 hours I've been up in the night.

I WILL make friends with other Mums in the area, I WILL make friends with other Mums in the area, I WILL make friends with other Mums in the area, I WILL make friends with other Mums in the area......

Kitty5824 · 10/05/2012 10:57

Gah, sleep hasn't helped my baby brain, I meant Tue and Wed night.....
