Mimsy I've got a Bambino Merino sleeping bag for DS which goes from 0-24 months, it's very long & he can still pull the poppers off at the shoulders in the same way your DS does so if he has got into that habit going up a size might make no difference anyway. Not that helpful but I would give the bigger one a go anyway; don't see why your 6-18 grobag isn't safe but my 0-24 bag is Confused. Or try a looking for a bag with stronger poppers...SIL gave us an old George one that I use if the others are in the wash & the poppers are much stronger & he hasn't undone them yet.

Not sure that made sense; so tired :( aethel let me know when that coffees ready

Mimsy, I had the same problem with grobags. Outgrown 0-6month below weight limit for 6-18month tried him in it and hes fine, I guess it depends on shape of the baby so might be worth trying!

I'm in shock DP has just helped with baby before leaving for work. He volunteered to hold a crying baby rather than swiftly passing him back as soon as he sounds vaugly unhappy. Probably not a big deal for most people but a step in the right direction for us :) He even said something about making sure he's home early tonight so he can play with DS.

well, DD1 is six and has to be levered out sometimes after a late night... How does six years sound?

Arg, the sun. I feel like Larry Miller in the "Five Stages of Drinking" sketch.
Hungover without the party beforehand!

Not good aethel. So when he has to get up early for school he's going to be pita?? Thanks for the coffee Wink

The Sing & Sign lady is a deluded looney; she sent me an email this morning saying that she'd also responded to a post I put on her facebook page with a personal message to say the class was cancelled Grin Ok, so that's 4 ways she allegedly tried to contact me then...she even attached a "copy" of the email she sent; as if I don't know how easily that could be faked. I'm pretty pleased I haven't exposed DS to her now Hmm

Really should go to baby group today; especially after yesterday but I just want to go back to bed!

BJR maybe he has been reading Mumsnet?!

We've been in 6-12 month grobags for a while, I just made sure her head couldn't sink into the hole iyswim.

So lovely to see the sun!

DD slept until 5am, which is great! Didn't get to bed until 11 though as had to do some paperwork. Grrrr.

Viewing a house today, should be interesting! We've had our house valued but not on the market yet. We're not sure whether to move this year while I'm on mat leave or wait a few more years and get something bigger. Seems silly to pay all the moving costs, stamp duty etc if we can afford something in a few years that we won't ever need to move out of. But we haven't got enough room in our current house for both children to have their own room plus an office for me, as I work from home 2 days a week.

LMF, your phone deserves its own page on 'Damn You Autocorrect', it really has a mind of its own!

Apologies to all- DS hadn't read the thread script and went down at 7.30, dream feed at 10.30, and then we both slept through til 6! I think it was because I was sooooo tired following the five hour journey followed by four hours of disrupted sleep and a couple of glasses of wine with dinner that I didn't twitch awake at every rustle and fart.

If the woman is sending you fake mocked-up e-mails Honey then that is nuts. Either that or she's total desperate for the business?

Glad all is heading in the right direction BJR.

DS gone down so leaping in shower.

DS also didn't read the script and slept 7.30-6. I'll have one more good night if I'm lucky and then all change again, by usual standards. Unfortunately DH went in early to work, disturbed DD who also woke at 6. That's waaay too early a start to the day for all of us, so I suspect lots of tired and grumpy behaviour will ensue (from all of us!). Going to messy play at surestart this morning, then to farm this afternoon for one of DD's friend's birthday.

Noticed TKMaxx are selling Grobags for £15.99 instead of whatever they are, so we're getting our 6-18months this weekend. DS likes to hitch his up so he can eat his feet.

I played Metallica's One album non-stop when DS was still a bump, and it soothes him now..although I feel a bit mad air guitaring to a baby.

Big Coffee hugs to everyone who had a rough night. This too shall pass

Honey she sounds fruit loopy.

I'm feeling a bit Banbury too LMF!

Today is dull. Weather and 'stuff' wise. It's very overcast, and I've got to stay home waiting for a couple of engineer types as I'm getting the new Internet supply and the tv sorted today. Would rather be somewhere else. I hate being in the house.

Is Banbury worth putting in the official December '11 phrase book?

Thus far we have:

Mum up
Banbury

Any more?

I was feeling a bit banbury myself until I realised it was Friday. Yippee!!
BOi only woke once last night. That I remember anyway. At 3:40 he woke for a feed, so I brought him into bed and he fed and stayed curled up with me. I vaguely remember him feeding again, it could've been 5 minutes after his first feed, or may have been ages after, Bob knows.
When we arrived at nursery he finally gave up holding back the poop (3 days) and so I had to change him into his spare set of clothes. He filled his nappy, but I have the feeling there may have been more to come. When I pick him up at 1 I'll probably find him dressed in the contents of the lost and found/dressing up box. Grin
I'm going to visit my friend/colleague this afternoon with her 17 day old baby boy. Can't wait for the cuddles!
Well done to the sleeping thru set! let's hope they influence the others! Sorry for those whose LO's are constantly waking. :(
Condoms and sympathies to MissRee - the picture of your LO is gorgeous, BTW.
aethel - hmmmm a patch, you say. That may be the answer. My phone bleeps at me to remind me to take my pill but I haven't taken it for weeks. But condoms make a sensitive situation even more sensitive, so a patch may be a good idea. Thanks for that.

Report
Rashkakeller · 11/05/2012 10:01

Should Bob make the list?

Ds slept until 6am, fed then went back down until 9am so good boy. Sorry that other babies aren't being so cooperative but I'm not convinced my good luck will last!

I was considering the implant but feel a bit put off - hate hate hate irregular bleeding! And I don't want anything that might make me put on weight. Never heard of patch so may have to research!

Off for my facial at 11, then going to see the Avengers this afternoon so looking forward to a bit of baby free time. I will miss him though and hope he's ok with his Spain gps because he doesn't know them very well and has started to become more aware of when mummy isn't around :/

We had sun but then I put washing on the line + dp is digging out a border = looks like it's going to pee it down

Booked the whole term for £52 figgy, just checked & instead of refunded the original payment on paypal (which I specified she should do) she's sent a payment of £52 & paypal have deducted £1.97 in fees. She's really getting on my nerves now. I think she's probably worried I'll leave rude messages on her facebook page NC but I'm too nice for that Wink I may just start up an alternative & free sing & sign class just to spite her :) D'you think I could get a group of mums to sit in my living room & eat cake watch the dvd Hmm

Report
aethelfleda · 11/05/2012 10:17

The patch is exactly the same as a combined pill, but applied once weekly similar to an HRT patch. The commonest side effect is skin irritation: most people are fine though, you just have to try it and see, and swap arms/legs site so it's not the exact same patch of skin covered each time.

Am attempting gentle housework today: friend coming for playdate later, she's an only and I suspect her house is spotless so don't want her mum to think i'm a total slattern

How about for good behaviour for the list??

MissRee · 11/05/2012 10:26

Thank you Aethel, that certainly gives me something to think about! Patch does indeed sound good.

Thanks for the grobag tips! I've tried him in the 6-18 month but I'm a bit worried his head is too small (first time I've ever said that, this is the child who was born with a 38cm head!) Going to try to get a proper 0-6 months grobag rather than a mothercare and see if it's more roomy. Probably a waste of money for a month or so of use, but I'd rather sleep.

I've decided that I need to start putting Sprog down for a nap in his cot. He's always slept in my arms for naps, but wondering if it would help. He's shuffled and whinged and whined for 10 mins and now is either silent or asleep! Grin Just wish he would be as quick to sleep during the night.

LMF Hope Octoboy cheers up at some point today.

Can't help with regards to contraception as we are just using condoms.

Banbury :) Auto correct finds some funny words!

Sky is asleep at the moment after eating a large helping of Broccoli, Cauliflower & rice and then a 7oz bottle.

Am just having a cuppa and something to eat then will be pureeing some veg & fruit combinations!

My headpiece for the wedding is being delivered later, so looking forward to the finished item :)

Am def going back to work in Oct, only planning on 2 days a week and Sky will be going to Nursery. Am actually looking forward to it. Am going to a meeting on Tuesday afternoon (taking Sky with me), then am going to an annual event for one of the software providers we use - gives me the opportunity to catch up on new updates etc.

Am going to start looking into doing an OU course in management of general practice.

I need to go put octoboy down for a nap. I know that as soon as I go upstairs and start feeding one of the engineers will turn up. The law of sod says so >_< should I put a note on the door saying I'm feeding and to give me two minutes to get my backside from snuggle to door?
