At least you know about the chair now fuzzy, poor S though. We had a similar thing with the area outside our house, we didn't realise that the wood needed finishing until my neice got a really really bad splinter Blush

Poor S fuzzzy hope she perks up soon. Not sure about plasters not had to think about that yet W's injuries have all been bloodless. (that sounds terrible like he's injured all the time! He's only had 2 one when I caught his finger in the bouncy chair clip and a bruise on his forehead when he face-planted into his toys and I wasn't fast enough to stop him)

Scheherezade · 07/06/2012 11:24

pp you're right I think every mum suffers from guilt for one thing or another, all the time! I know what you mean re: housework. Can you set yourself one or two tasks to do a day, and it doesn't matter when they are done. Thats what I do, today my task is to bath the dog and make some rice pudding, but god knows when I'll get time, C has been miserable and screaming all morning so I've let him fall asleep on me now, then its bottle, lunch, then I'm getting my hair done.....

engel is the helmet working? How was it he developed the flat head - is it a birth thing? (sorry, being nosy). Think I'm going to steal your card/handprint idea, because I'm completely stumped what to do for fathers day!

Hi veee :)

lookout can you catch up on any jubilee stuff on iplayer maybe?

How are you finding the meds jnice ?

Poor s fuzzzy* :( I'm dreading when C is more mobile, our house is not meant for a baby at all - it's v old fashioned. Big stone fireplace, step down in the living room, granny sideboards with v sharp edges at toddler eye level :( I'd think a plaster would be ok, they have them on after they have injections, anyway.

Jnice · 07/06/2012 13:21

Oh, poor S Sad. And poor you fuzzy. I would be cautious with a plaster in a finger, it could get sucked on and maybe come off. If you do use a plaster can you put a sock over the top to stop it coming off?

Scheh - I feel like the sertraline is slowly improving - side effects have died down and the anxiety has dropped. I feel a bit numb but it's better than losing it all the time! How's things for you? Are you over withdrawal etc? The rice pud sounds lovely. I love homemade rice pud but no one else likes it so I never make it. Bit maybe Leo would enjoy some Wink

Last night was a normal night in the sleeping bag - just 2 waking a and a very early start (5.10) but that was how he was in the swaddle too. So I think we cracked it! Next step is self soothing (scared about that one!).

MamaMaiasaura · 07/06/2012 13:33

I'd avoid plaster. Leave to air dry. Heals much quicker x

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 07/06/2012 15:20

Thanks everyone. She is ok now, wee fingers look sore though, esp one with the bit out the end! Left it open, figured she would just try eat the plaster anyway HmmConfused
sch how is C now? I've started the same thing, doing just a few things every day. Today is all the laundry. Washing done this morning and hung up and tonight I'll sort out all the dry stuff and get it ironed/put away. Yesterday I done the kitchen and spare bedroom (this acts as the room for drying clothes and also has all my clothes in as fitted wardrobes so it's used every day) and tomorrow will be livingroom and as its bin day, all the recycling/bins and cats litter tray. It is easier said that done though but if I don't try keep on top, it becomes a riot!!
jnice glad to hear your feeling better with the meds and great about Leo and the grobag!! I really hope it continues!

S was awake again this morning at 4am then back over till 6am, had milk then slept another 30 mins. Im now wondering of she is waking at 4am cos of hunger. Might try tonight giving her more milk when I go to bed at 11.30pm and just see out of curiosity. If not, then I'm off to buy black out material to sew to back of her curtains!!!!

strawberrypenguin · 07/06/2012 17:45

fuzzzy glad S is ok. :)

W been very out of sorts today, squealing almost non stop even when 'walking' had lots of naps too. Think it might be teeth, hope he's not coming down with something :(

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 07/06/2012 18:12

sp s is sleeping much more, but I'm thinking it's due to waking up at 4am so is catching up in the day Hmm. I've only let her have 2 naps today though to try have her more tired by bedtime. I can't be up at 4am again!! Confused

Engelsmeisje · 07/06/2012 19:02

Poor S Fuzzzy

Sorry to hear you're having such horrible nights PA and jnice

M woke up last night at about 9 and we ended up bringing him down. It's his two bottom teeth, next to the middle ones. i can see the through the gum, but they're showing no sign of cutting through. hv yesterday said that they're often the ones that hurt the most.

scheh helmet seems to be doing it's job. have a fitting appt tomorrow and hospital appt next week so will get professional opinion of how much longer to keep going with it. Hoping that he won't have to wear it the full 12 months. If we stopped now then I could live with how his head. Broke collarbone when he was born, so we couldn't lie him on his right side for the first month and he developed a preference for putting his head to the left when he was on his back. Skull's so soft first few months that we could see fairly quickly that it was getting flat. Referred to physio very early (4 weeks) but couldn't stop him from putting his head to the left. helmet seemed quite drastic but it's covered by our health insurance and seemed the best thing to do.

Have just had a shock. Still wearing my stretchy nursing bras as have been too lazy to measure myself since I stopped breastfeeding. was 34D before I got pregnant and then went to 36C and then 38D during rpegnancy. My saggy post bf boobs are now 38AA!!!! AA!!!!!! I desperately need to go bra shopping tomorrow as my nursing bras are very very unflattering. Where did my lovely pert boobs go?!

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 07/06/2012 19:12

engel omg, I had no idea M broke his collarbone when he was born! (I fell off the thread for first few months). How awful! Was it a bad delivery? So glad you did get it fitted early. We had a boy in nursery who got one at 9 months old. It helped a bit but think it was all left to late. My boobs shrunk when my milk dried up but have filled out again!! There is hope for your AA's yet Grin

Engelsmeisje · 07/06/2012 19:27

He was fine fuzzzy. I think we were more worked up about it than he was bothered by it. MW wasn't sure when he was first born as she couldn't feel a break, but I think cord was wrapped round his arm. Had a good labour (7 hours) but after an hour of pushing he was a bit stuck so had a episiotomy (sp?). He had a bruise on his collarbone a few days after birth, but MW couldn't feel a break. Think it was when he was 9 days old (just befire end of MW care) that a bump appeared, and she confirmed it was broken. I think it happens to a lot of babies, but you don't hear about it til it happens to you!

CheshireDing · 07/06/2012 19:59

AA Engels :( I hate my big boobs (currently DD) and would be very pleased to go back to my previous "normal" B size boobs - not sure this will happen though. Bras are so boring and expensive too and let's face it not many people see them Grin

Hope S is feeling better now Fuzzzy. Did you get chance to measure her?

The blind man came yesterday and fitted the black-out blind and this morning P slept until 7am so hopefully it has made a bit of difference. She also only woke once over night, even though she has a proper cold so I am hoping we are coming out of the other side of our Wonder Week now, fx.

I had a panic last night about what to get for Fathers Day so had a look on PinInterest (sp?) and randomly did a pic of P with the words Daddy above her head and have ordered from Snapfish a keyring and a Photo Panel. I did the pics on my phone so I hope the quality is ok as I am not really any good with the proper camera on to the computer thing (pathetic I know at my age). Hopefully it won't look too shit Hmm.

Felt a bit sorry for DH today as he has (since P was born) invited 2 of his friends over/meet up who have also had babies and both will not come because "it will mess up the baby's routine". The Dad today said he had only been allowed to take the baby out for 2 hours since he was born and he wants to take him swimming but Mum will not let the baby be in the car with just the driver Hmm. The other baby has only been to the GP's surgery for his "outings"

Hope everyone gets some sleep tonight :)

CheshireDing · 07/06/2012 20:00

Would the Potette be suitable for a little bottom (i.e. P's) and does it fold up enough to go in a change bag?

PenguinArmy · 07/06/2012 20:25

it does fold up enough for that, it is flat but wide. Packaging did say from 15 months but as you'll probably be holding him anyway I would have thought it'd be OK.

how sad about those Dad's. I'm always chucking DH out the house with DS.

Engelsmeisje · 07/06/2012 20:27

maybe I can take some of yours cheshire Grin

Shock at your DHs friends cheshire

got M measured yesterday and he's 9.17kg and 73 cm. I've been really bad at writing in his baby book Sad

Dh is watching a trashy aliens attacking the earth film so ic an MN without feeling guilty Grin

PenguinArmy · 07/06/2012 20:31

i'm writing a presentation for a interview i have next week

strawberrypenguin · 07/06/2012 20:51

PA Grin how's that presentation coming?

cheshire Hmm at those dads (or the mums I suppose) don't understand that not letting dad actually be a parent when your in a loving relationship. I would never suggest DH wasn't good enough to look after W (and I may have gone nuts by now if he didn't!) . if I felt he wasn't capable I wouldn't have had children with him!

eng I didn't know about Ms collar bone either. Is it OK now, any lasting effects (apart from his head)?

Engelsmeisje · 07/06/2012 20:59

He's fine strawberry . Just had to be careful with him the first month, changing and thing like that.

Right, 10pm here. Aliens have finished attacking the earth so it's time to go to bed Smile

PenguinArmy · 07/06/2012 21:04

my science brain is in shock at the complicated simple attempt of activating it.

i've got 5 days to back into the zone of using the right words

Penelope1980 · 08/06/2012 06:29

cheshire do your DH's friends have really controlling wives? That sounds really off if they never go out

ipswichwitch · 08/06/2012 07:15

Day 8 in the zero poop house....
Still nowt. This lactulose is pants :( got a feeling N is saving it all for this afternoon as we're at DPs sisters wedding. Will be a case of "I do" then paaarrrrrrpppppppp!!!!
Would love a meet up -am near Durham- but it's back to work next we'd (sob). The closer I get the worse I feel about it, especially as colleagues keep telling me how horrendous it is there atm. Not helpful! If I'm totally honest, I don't enjoy the job any more. It's not the actual work itself, it's all the stress and bureaucratic nonsense that comes with it, and the bosses don't make it any easier. Anyone seen that film Horrible Bosses? That may be me in not too distant future!!!
A bit Shock for you DHs poor driendscheshire, what the hell is that about only letting baby in the car if there's a "copilot"? God if I did that N would go nowhere. Bit sad the mothers don't seem to trust their children's fathers to do anything. Not like that in this house I can tell ya! DP is currently downstairs with N, as he's giving me a lie in. Can't sleep hence MNing :)
penguinhows the presentation going? I do a sciency job, so could throw a few appropriate words your way, y'know, to get you in the zone. I personally always liked phalange ....( aware I may be losing the plot, in fact there is no plot I am winging it!)

ipswichwitch · 08/06/2012 07:16

Oh god, this is also the house of no paragraphs either, blasted iPhone. Sorry folks!

lookout · 08/06/2012 07:45

ips you made me lol. 'Phalange' indeed Grin.

We've been up since 4.30. Had a couple of weeks where sleep was getting better then this week it's been crap again. We have guests for the weekend as well, typical. I only said yes because I thought E was on the road to better sleeping so am a bit Angry and Sad this monrning. He's napping and would like to crawl back into bed but have sooooo much to do before they arrive...

I would love to meet too, but I'm in Bucks so not sure if anyone is close by.

Have a good day all Smile

PenguinArmy · 08/06/2012 09:01

I used to deal with flanges

Penelope1980 · 08/06/2012 09:12

The sciency word I like to use is mastication. Heh.

PA can you use the words masticate and flanges in your presentation? Am sure that would get you the job ...
