Sorry guys - posted the 1000th message without realising Blush, so hopefully you can all find this thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jnice · 24/05/2012 08:09

Oops mrsHende what I meant to say was sleeping bags from ds1 & ds2! I can blame the drugs for that! Day 2 of anti-Ds!

The sleepsacks are from grobag :)

CheshireDing · 24/05/2012 09:10

Yay we have poo! Only taken since Tuesday (possibly Monday can't remember)!

Ploughing the poor child with curry and water for the last 2 days has eventually worked, bedroom stinks now though.

Gotta go I can still hear it coming out, fgs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 24/05/2012 09:15

mrsh I'd love to know more about these bears! I done a quick google, but can only find one that is £65 + £9 pp

lookout · 24/05/2012 09:29

Wow indeed, you were all very busy last night!

Those sleepsuit bears sound very cute, will be watching with interest to see where they come from!

Cheshire hooray for poo!
Jnice how are the meds going? How are you feeling? Did you decide to take them both in the end?
sp E's room was at 25 too, he was in just nappy and 1 tog grobag with window slightly open. He was awake for 2 hours from midnight til 2am though slept until 6.30. Not too bad considering he's going through some kind of ough patch.
LP enjoy the beach! Can't wait to get out into the garden, is still nice and fresh so will enjoy the cool air for a bit i think!
ips glad to hear the sleep training went so well! I am a bit Envy but have no guts/stamina to do it yet. Half-heartedly tried last night after he'd fed and wouldn't go to sleep but the poor love screamed so loud and was got himself so hot I caved and put him back on the boob to get him to sleep.

I do worry that I'm not doing things properly. And this from a 2nd-timer! Ds1 was so much simpler!

Scheherezade · 24/05/2012 10:02

Thanks for the tips! Continuing on in a similar vein, what have you been dressing them in during the day? I'm not a fan of sunscreen, so would thin long sleeved cotton stuff and shade be ok?

Scheherezade · 24/05/2012 10:03

Hooray for poo Cheshire! Will catch up properly once C in bed.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 24/05/2012 10:15

Hi arabella I was always sure there was more than one set of twins in this thread! How are you and your babies? Good to hear from you.

lookout · 24/05/2012 10:25

Sche i'm pretty sure that would be fine. That's what I'm doing anyway as I've not been organised enough yet to get an eczema-friendly sunscreen for E and I can't bear the thought of putting yet another layer of cream on the poor boy!

MrsHende · 24/05/2012 10:56

Jnice, that's so funny - I googled Felix and Isaac and was surprised that no baby shop came up, that'll be why!! Crossed wires!! Grin

Here is a link to the facebook page of the keepsake bears - £25 + £4 recorded delivery:

Chocolate and Ginger Keepsake Bears

I'm surrounded by snoring! DH snoring in the bedroom and L snoring on the playmat in front of me. As soon as everyone wakes up I'm going to go out and enjoy this sunshine! It's so lovely to see L's chubby arms and legs - normally so wrapped up!

Arabella36 · 24/05/2012 12:17

Hi edwardoreric, the babies are doing well thanks, we've been very lucky. There are a couple of cardiac problems (one more so than the other) but hopefully nothing that will hold them back. We'll see what the cardiologist says at review. I'm keeping very well too, thanks for asking! How are things with you and Mhairi? (Hope I got name right)

I remember there was someone else pregnant with twins, I don't remember who though?

lookout · 24/05/2012 12:18

MrsHende those bears are gorgeous! I am so saving up my pocket money for one of those Grin

I backed down at the GP. Again. She placated me by saying she would contact the paediatric helpline to get their advice on whether or not it was worth sending E for testing. But her opinion was that if there had been a previous reaction to dairy, that was evidence enough of an allergy and there would be no point in testing. Feel a bit deflated.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun and managing to keep cool.

Scheherezade · 24/05/2012 13:27

Can't catch up properly as on my phone, will try later so please no one think I'm ignoring them or being rude!

Welcome back Arabella yes this is a very chatty group! BB3 also has twins.

We're going through hell doing controlled crying in the day as C insists on being held constantly . I literally can't even put him down to make a bottle, meals, toilet etc. Think I've had a breakthrough today though, its finally paid off! Left him sat on the floor next to me.whilst I did the ironing. He screamed himself hoarse for an hour, but stopped, and has been good since! No doubt his dad will ruin it this weekend Hmm

Ended up sitting him in shade, with huge parasol over so nice and cool, and got him naked so his bottom could breathe :o

strawberrypenguin · 24/05/2012 14:11

mrsH those bears are v cute Smile
shech I've gone the suncream and best route with daytime clothing. Can't leave W in just nappy without watching him closely as he grabs at his tummy and leaves big scratches no matter how often I cut his nails!
Hi arabella we weren't on the old threads together I joined late. Sorry to hear your babies have heart troubles hope you get good news from your consultant soon.

Arabella36 · 24/05/2012 14:16

Thank you scheherezade and good luck with the controlled crying. I find the fisherprice jumparoo and the walkie-pen really handy for putting the babies into, they like being in them so much they don't notice where I am for a while!

Arabella36 · 24/05/2012 14:17

Thank you strawberry

MamaMaiasaura · 24/05/2012 14:38

scheh an hours a long time, any idea why he's crying? You're stronger willed than me, I'd not last 10 minutes Grin.

lookout · 24/05/2012 14:50

Sche that sounds awful! At least he got the message in the end. Has he always been in a sling or something? Hope the break through continues!

sp we are the same with E - as soon as he gets his clothes if he's scratching his eczema, so have to keep a close eye on him. I think it's nice for them to be nakes sometimes though so do do it, just have to keep distracting him so he forgets to scratch!

Arabella I only just joined last week but hi anyway! How are you finding life with twins?

Scheherezade · 24/05/2012 14:53

He wants picking up, nothing else. As soon as I hold him and walk around he's happy. It's because his dad looked after him Friday-Sunday as I was birthday/ill, and he doesn't put him down ever, then Monday-Tuesday lunchtime I was in hospital for meetings and the nurses just hold him all the time. But he needs to learn to be put down, so I can make his bottles! His dad just holds him whilst doing everything, which isn't safe when you're pouring boiling water......

He's a lot better today, I was going to post in parenting for advice, but seem to have improved.

HV says we have to start cutting down morning and afternoon bottles and offering snacks, I already struggle to think of mealtime ideas, let alone another 2 a day!

strawberrypenguin · 24/05/2012 15:43

scheh if you just need to offer snacks that's not too hard to achieve Smile get a pack of rice crackers (organix do good ones) chop up a load of fruit/veg and have handy in the fridge carrot sticks, apple etc W likes bread too. I normally give him some snack stuff to eat/play with if I'm trying to do something ie cook or put some washing on etc. you might find it a bit harder with C if hes refusing to be put down though! Oh and rusks they are multi use they an eat them like a biscuit or you can make a porridge with them

strawberrypenguin · 24/05/2012 15:44

Sorry forgot to ask how many bottles does C have?

Engelsmeisje · 24/05/2012 15:48

Hello everyone Smile

jnice good luck with the cbt. DH is having cbt sessions and they are really helping him, though he finds them quite intense at times.

lookout we are on 3 meals but at the moment I don?t have to get him ready for childcare as DH does one day and MIL does the other when I?m working, but he?s going to nursery 2 days a week from August ? can?t imagine having to get him fed properly before I set off for work (enough just getting myself ready!)

?bimbos? Grin mama I once told a little year 8 lad to "shit down" in class Grin

scheh we have put M in romper with a sheet over top (to try and keep him in place). Too hot for his sleeping bag, though he doesn?t sleep as well as he can wriggle free without it! Was 28 degrees in his room when we went to bed last night.

M has mostly been inside the last 2 days (our downstairs is very cool) either just in a nappy or in a romper. If we were outside I would still put sunscreen on him even in the shade (UV and all that) if we were out for a considerable length of time.

Very Envy at you being down in the SW and near beautiful beaches pebble

sorry to hear you had such a complicated pg, but glad to hear the Los are doing well.

M?s bum seems to have settled down now. He is pooping like no one?s business though, always a minimum of twice a day, but sometimes 3 or 4. Have had a few nappy leakages as well, wondering if the number 4 nappies are too small for him already (hope not as have a whole pack upstairs!) Also might just be him wriggling around a bit more now.

I have spent the most boring (and hottest) day at work invigilating exams, am so pleased it?s my weekend now?bank holiday here on Monday as well, so don?t have to go to work until next Thursday!

Scheherezade · 24/05/2012 16:17

Thanks for the ideas strawberry! He finds carrot&apple sticks a little hard atm. I just worry he's going to have not enough/too much! He gets 6oz morning and night, and 4oz 11am and 3pm. Only started reducing the bottles yesterday, mind.

I've given up, we're staying indoors till I can get some sunscreen!

Engel- you can get 4+ nappies? I accidentally bought a pack, we should swap! :o

Oh, C is 8mo today!

Jnice a lass in hospital found sertraline very effective, almost immediately. Lorazepam isn't a sleeping med, its a tranquilizer, similar to diazepam but stronger. I'm surprised they've prescribed you it as even on the ward they were v careful about using it as its v.v.addictive- so a word of warning there.

strawberrypenguin · 24/05/2012 16:35

That amount of milk sounds ok to me scheh (although im clearly not an expert!) W has four 6oz bottles a day (he's just under 7mo) what did they want you to cut it down to? Did they suggest it as a way to get him to 'eat' more

Jnice · 24/05/2012 16:45

Thanks Scheh! I was feeling a little better and thought it must be placebo because it was so soon. However I'm getting headaches and had a random nosebleed this morning. Good to know about the lorazepam - she gave me loads! I haven't take any though.

Arabella36 · 24/05/2012 17:31

Hi lookout, when I found out I was having twins I was seriously alarmed. I already had a DD (who was 18 months when they were born) and I thought life would be hectic with the 3 of them. I needn't have worried though as they're very "easy" babies and most of the time are no more work than one.

engels you won't have to worry about breakfast before you leave for nursery in the morning. My DD is at nursery + they give her breakfast when she arrives and then they have toast at half nine, she loves it! When she was younger I'd give her a bottle in the house though.
