Happy 7 months to Jessica and Leo Smile

Mama you are doing great re DS, it's going to be a shock and take a lot of adjustment - hugs x

The Zoloft is absolute min dose. Re sleeping pills, I will only take if DH in charge and not cosleeping. Last night I was awake still for L's first feed at 1.30am - tears and anxiety Sad

Engelsmeisje · 23/05/2012 06:50

M wouldn't settle last night because it's so hot here and woke up crying this morning an hour earlier than usual... ZZzzzzzzz.....

MamaMaiasaura · 23/05/2012 07:28

jnice < hugs > have they offered you any therapy like cbt to help you manage anxiety? Really feel for you. Do you know what triggers it is it always there? (you don't need to answer at all). Yes happy 7 months to gorgeous leo too. Smile x

Jnice · 23/05/2012 07:43

Thanks Mama Smile I was signed up for a cbt workshop yesterday but was too worked up to go, i have a lovely psych and therapist tho, and will go to the next cbt workshop.

CheshireDing · 23/05/2012 07:50

I have been trying since yesterday to post on here, just wrote a whole thing again and P touched the bloody keyboard and it's gone! It;s like trying to type next to the cartoon Tazmanian Devil (no offence Pene) Grin

Tally we used to pick loads of P?s food out of the Bumbo legs, and rotate it back on her tray, it was constant.

Mama P is a right nosey thing, even if DH just comes in the nursery she tries to keep my boob in her mouth put look around ? it?[s really comfy have a chewed on stretched nip!

Penguin that food sounds fit. We use loads of frozen veg it?s so easy and means we get a good variety. I love going to Giraffe because they always have loads of fab veggie options (and meat too for DH).

I hope things improve Jnice, thinking of you.

Happy 7 months to L and J :)

How are the bottoms today?

Right she is destroying the patchwork on the duvet must go.

lookout · 23/05/2012 08:47

Jnice don't feel bad about it. If it doesn't work you can always come off them. No experience I'm afraid of taking both at once, but I really hope they work for you. I'm in the midst of a low period, first in a while, so I sympathise and send you hugs. I can really empathise with the up at all hours of the night in tears, at my lowest I'm like this too. I have also lost all abaility to make decisions and think straight, it's absolutely debilitating. Hope the talking therapies help too, I really need some but no idea where to even start looking. GP has been crap so far.

I also have trouble fitting in meals. He's still only on 2, lunch and dinner, but some days it's such a rush i only manage to give him a bit of toast with some puree on it. No idea how I'm gonna fit breakfast in before the school run Confused

Happy 7 months!

Engel We had a bad night from the heat too. Off to buy an air con unit to cool E's room down before bedtime.

Penguin that list of food made me hungry!!!

Trying to get an appt with the most helpful of the 4 GPs we've seen so far for E's eczema. Hoping to get a referral to either an allergy clinic or a dermatologist. Wish me luck.

CheshireDing · 23/05/2012 13:27

Any joy with the referrals Lookout?

Mama P has not really had much milk at all today, bits of water and a bit of apple but it's 1.30pm and that's it. I think it's the heat, I never want to eat when it's hot (unless it's wine/ice cream/cider).

I struggle trying to fit breakfast in as P is not really interested and we are usually busy in the mornings, she eats most late afternoon and their her evening meal so am just going with it at the moment.

Wish I could be in the pub garden now with a bottle of wine and DH :)

MamaMaiasaura · 23/05/2012 13:46

cheshire J agrees on ice cream. She snaffled some yesterday. I know what you mean about when it's hot tho. Pub garden sounds perfect

Late lunch here tho she's making all sorts of dramatic poo noises. I never know where to look as she has blazing blue eyes, red faces and cries and strains whilst staring in my eyes. Poor girl.. I can't poo for her and if I pick her up she doesn't go. Bimbos are good in the poo respect Grin

lookout · 23/05/2012 14:45

Cheshire couldn't get an appt at the GP, need to try again tomorrow. They have this ridiculous system where you have to phone when they open to get an appt for that day and you basically have to keep hitting redial until you can get through bu which point they've usually booked up for the day. Really annoys me.

What I would give for a bottle of wine in the sun right now...

Mama not sure what you meant by 'bimbos are good in the poo respect' but it did make me chuckle!!

FuzzzyDuck · 23/05/2012 16:02

Good grief it's hot! Car said 29 degrees an hour ago Shock

Jnice · 23/05/2012 16:35

everyone - thanks for the support Smile

lookout that's crap that your gp is no help Sad is there a postnatal support charity over there? We have a group that meets for weekly sessions, it was a huge help while waiting for my referral.

Jnice · 23/05/2012 17:07

I'm a bit envious of your weather over there but I find it quite stressful trying to keep a baby cool enough. Hope you're all managing! Do you have fans going and stuff?

lookout · 23/05/2012 19:27

Jnice first one just prescribed meds which were horrible, I gave up after two days I felt so awful. 2nd was completely the opposite and said I was just exhausted and needed rest. Ha! There is one, ONE, PND support group in my area but it's on the only day of the week I have something else on.

We bought an air conditioning unit today, and despite having it on for 2 hours in baby's bedroom it only brought the temp down by 1 degree. it's been in his brother's room for an hour and has already gone down 4 degrees Confused. As E's room is next to the boiler I'm guessing it's gonna be nigh on impossible to get it cooler. It's 25 degrees in there atm Sad

On another note I'm a bit concerned I may have a blocked duct/mastitis on the way or something. The top of my boob is very hard and sore. Any ideas? I've been so spaced out today I haven't been alternating sides properly Blush

CheshireDing · 23/05/2012 19:28

No fans here Jnice just fx it sticks around for the weekend :)

I think Mama means "Bumbo" because they sit in them upright so hopefully should help with the poop. I have been trying the same today with P on the potty, no poo here today though and no poo yesterday :( Monday's poo was like an adult poo in the potty!

I think P, DH and I are going to stay in a travel lodge now Saturday night for my trade fair, I think that is stressing me out more than trying to leave enough milk! Am thinking she might have to sleep in the pram base (we have been using the buggy for a couple of weeks now) as we got a travel cot from ebay but have not had chance to steam it yet.

PenguinArmy · 23/05/2012 19:35

lookout, frequent feeds which given the hot weather you should be offering anyway. While feeding lots of massages, then with a comb in the shower give it a good massage. (comb not essential).

DS has suddenly started spurting lots of dry bits of skin which I assume is as someone said previously due to the weather. Will the diprobase be good for that as well?

PenguinArmy · 23/05/2012 19:37

chesire that sounds like a very good compronise. I often had DH bring DD to me at work, and if you can avoid 24 hours then it makes sense plus you don't need to worry about expressing for comfort while away.

lookout · 23/05/2012 19:46

PA he's asleep now though. I have hed fed him loads more than usual today, just kept messing up sides. Can I pump and massage before his next feed?

PenguinArmy · 23/05/2012 20:04

i'd say that's up to you and if you think the pump won't hurt you or he normally goes a few hours before feeding again. you can just massage without feeding.

they are normally worse in the morning so don't be alarmed with that. If it doesn't improve by lunchtime or you start feeling like you have flu and red patches appear then see a GP. FWIW lately I've got red patches but it hasn't needed AB's, just feeds and massaging because I hate pumping.

lookout · 23/05/2012 20:12

Decided to pump. Been wanting him to try milk from a cup for a while anyway just been too lazy to pump. Feels better already but will pop him on that side when he next feeds.

Forgot to say earlier, Diprobase will help for any dry skin problems. Rub in direction of hairs but don't rub completely into the skin, let it soak in. That's what we were told for E's eczema anyway.

ipswichwitch · 23/05/2012 20:21

this is it penguin, and so far its been working pretty well. i know its awful hearing him cry but like i pointed out to DP, he was waking and crying through the night anyway, so at least this way he's crying in a constructive way, and for a much shorter time - taking about 8 mins to get to sleep compared to the 20 + mins it used to take

www.supernanny.co.uk/Advice/-/Parenting-Skills/-/Routine-and-Teamwork/Controlled-Crying.aspx

PenguinArmy · 23/05/2012 20:39

that's for us yet, but as you say sometimes there is a point where the crying is happening regardless. That's when we did it with DD but she was around a year months and was asleep by 10 mins. Bit Hmm at the keeping it up for three weeks though.

DS is quite good at getting to sleep now, in terms of crying anyway, but our big issue is still the being able to put him down. Sometimes he goes down straight away so he's moving in the right direction.

lookout glad the pump helped.

MamaMaiasaura · 23/05/2012 20:44

Blush meant bumbo lol

cheshire actually thinking potty a good idea. J hates having poo and screams till nappy changed. It's obvious when she wants to go so I might give it a go.

MamaMaiasaura · 23/05/2012 20:45

My spelling is awful. Last night as I was feeding J I text my dh "shit my door". I'm so glad he didn't take it literally Blush Confused Grin

ipswichwitch · 23/05/2012 20:56

ha ed i have shown your DHs list of stuff done while you were putting kids to bed in a "see what you could be doing while i put DS to bed instead of playing UFC on the computer" kind of way :) and i have just been presented with a cup of tea!! glad christening went well and you're doing ok

fuzzy fish pie sounds nice, might make one, although DP doesnt like it, and tell him its for N ,although he prob wont eat any! we're still not getting far with the solids. had a day off yesterday, he wolfed his porridge this morning and just picked at some bits i put in front of him today. think he's not having much because he's not pooing, again. been 6 days now, and he's back on lactulose. might keep him on it a bit longer when it starts working.

mama and cheshire N is the same if i try to feed when out and about. i usually have to find a quiet corner or he's doing the see how far i can stretch mam's boob so i can have a neb at whats going on, thing.

penguin know what you mean about the 3 week thing. we only started friday, and he seems to have the hang of it now. pretty much goes to sleep right away, can self settle and we're only doing 2 night feeds, but they're good feeds. long may it continue!!

ipswichwitch · 23/05/2012 20:57

"shit my door" Grin
