Sorry guys - posted the 1000th message without realising Blush, so hopefully you can all find this thread!

Jnice that's great (discerning foodie baby?)

Pink oh no poor you Sad. Is there anyone who can take M so you get a break today?

LittlePebble · 17/05/2012 07:12

Great finger food list Cheshire thanks.
Just read wonder weeks chart, I think we may just be coming out of ours as he actually slept from 12-6 last night. (not enough sadly for me to feel human today)

Two front teeth are now through gum, but while one is straight, the other seems to be a point not a line and looks really sore. Anyone got experience of this? Can teeth come through wonky? Looks like baby Dracula Shock!

pinkpainter · 17/05/2012 07:15

Cheshire - I hadn't seen your list when I posted last - fantastic, thanks so much for writing all this down.

Sorry for the 'me' post in the middle of the night.

Scheherezade · 17/05/2012 08:58

Sorry to post and run, will reply to everyone once the banshee child is in bed. But I need prayers of strength this morning, he literally won't let me put him down at all, which means making bottle/breakfast/feeding a nightmare. My ears are ringing....

Scheherezade · 17/05/2012 09:22

Pp- is she definitely waking up properly? C goes down at 7pm and we pretty much leave him till morning unless he's obviously awake and screaming hysterically. He does mumble/cry out/wail at various points in the night, but always goes back off. The exception is if he has to sleep in our room, as we disturb him, and when I was bf I just used to pick him up and plonk on when he "woke" (but I realise now was just stirring) every 1-2 hours automatically. It was hospital that first tried putting him in his own room and just leaving him and he does 7-7 every night now but is a monster when he's awake instead

Scheherezade · 17/05/2012 09:28

Just noticed a post I wrote earlier has disappeared! Stupid phone. Was just saying thanks Sassy, hello to Fuzzy.

Great ideas thanks Cheshire. Have got c duck eggs from a neighbour for lunch, not sure what to do with them. Might just scramble and have a mix of finger foods after.

ipswichwitch · 17/05/2012 09:35

((hugs))for everyone having a rotten time with sleep, or with anything else for that matter.
We've decided to move N to his own room in the hope it may improve the night wakings (deluded!) he actually slept from 7.45 to 11 last night which is major improvement from the hourly waking and me spending the evening up n down stairs. We're trying to teach self settling atm as we think he's waking so often for a (comfort) feed out of habit.

Thanks for all the finger food suggestions, N had decided that's the way forward and I'm losing inspiration fast - poor boy can't live on dairylea sandwiches no matter how much he likes them!! He really doesn't like being spoon fed lumpy foods though and was seriously unimpressed by attempts to feed him mince!

Engelsmeisje · 17/05/2012 09:54

great list of suggestions cheshire

M has a bit of a puffy face today so wondering if he's had an allergic reaction to something. He had artichoke hearts and asparagus last night (I sound so middle class Blush Was putting it in quiche for us) and I didn't puree, just mashed. I think the asparagus was too much for him to digest. (he also had egg and tuna but has had them lots of times before with no reaction)

He's also got a really sore bum and very dark poos. not sure if the two are connected. He managed to wriggle about in his sleep last night so he was face down when I got him up this morning. first of all I thought thatthat was why he had a puffy face, but still a bit puffed up now round the eyes.

sorry for me post, back in a bit but M is howling for food Smile

Scheherezade · 17/05/2012 09:57

It worked for us ips when they wake up give at least ten mins before you go in. If I have to go in, I just turn him the right way round (he wriggles about loads) give him his comfort bunny and turn mobile on, and leave him. Once they're on 3 meals plus breast/bottle they don't need food in the night anymore than we do. My AK book recommends lots of protein before bed as it takes longer than carbs to digest.

C just woke up 20 mins into his nap, however I am hiding in bed and ignored him screaming for 5 nuns, and he's gone back asleep!!! Wonder if he'll stay asleep till DP gets back from work.....

Scheherezade · 17/05/2012 10:03

Sorry x posts engel artichokes and asparagus eh?!

Engelsmeisje · 17/05/2012 10:24

Okay, caught up...

pink .

jnice the other night we had pizza and had already given M his food (delicious pureed chx/rice/veg). he started shouting for more so DH gave him a bit of crust!

Are things going better scheh ?

Re: milk intake, M has 600ml of formula per day, though 200ml of that is in his porridge.

Bank holiday here so have just been out for a run and going to head out into the garden with M. My ILs are away for a few days so I?ll get some peace outdoors (otherwise my FIL has a habit of watching me garden and making irritating comments or sneaking up on me and scaring the shit out of me).

Yesterday M started trying to eat the leg of the coffee table (should have stopped him straight away but DH and I were too busy laughing), then e got a bit stuck trying to turn back over and knocked his gum, bleeding and everything Sad

But exciting news, M has started commando crawling, pulling himself across the mat with his arms. Of course he did it on Monday when I was at work (always the way).

I just made DH a cup of tea and used the cup he always uses. I presumed he?d had a cup of tea while I was out for a run as it was already on the side. I didn?t rinse it, just made his tea and my coffee and bought it in to him. He asked me what tea it was (and had a funny look on his face)?turned out he?d put some vinegar in the cup to try and get rid of the tea stains, so had delicious vinegar flavour tea Grin

Scheherezade · 17/05/2012 10:56

He just woke up :) so a good hour & a half nap. He's in a much better mood, as long as I don't try leave the room better hope my pelvic floor muscles are back up to scratch...

Lucky it was only vinegar Engel, I use bleach in mine!!!

FuzzzyDuck · 17/05/2012 12:26

Afternoon all Smile
Hugs for all those with sleepless baby's Sad. Think we have sorted it. She was in bed at 7, awake for 50 mins from 7.40pm but then back to sleep all night. Woke me at 8.30am shouting in her cot but I suspect she had been awake for a while as the toys in her cot were everywhere! I'm sure 7 months is another wonder week (?) so keep going ladies. Just think of all these new skills they are learning Smile

I love now how S is at the age where she is starting to do her own wee things and watching me and trying to copy. She waves her arm when I say 'bubye' and claps her hand when I sing 'clap clap hands'. Next new one is to 'mouth' when I ask her what a fish does. We started this one on holiday and she is starting to do ur herself Grin. Baby's are brilliant eh?!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 17/05/2012 15:37

I've not been on here for ages and just caught up.
Hi fuzzy hope u and S had a great time in canada.
mama sorry to hear about ds like others have said at least you can get the support for him now.
Can't remember who else said what Blush
mrsH we are also on 3 meals per day M has porridge for breakfast and lumpy purée for lunch and dinner if she's not getting impatient by the end of lunch/dinner I'll give aher a yogurt or fruit purée for dessert. She also has around 6 breastfeeds over 24hours.
I've been so busy lately we went to see the pandas for C's birthday was great fun.
And we have mhairi's christening on Sunday and I'm nowhere near organised!
I was also in work yesterday and will start KIT days next week then I'm back from may leave on 27th July Sad

Am also trying to convince DH to go on holiday would love turkey or Egypt again although we can't really afford it

strawberrypenguin · 17/05/2012 19:45

Hi ed

Hope everyone who needs it gets a decent nights sleep tonight

Tried W on scrambled egg for the first time today he did not like it at all. Took a bite into his mouth chewed/sucked once and started bawling his eyes out! It wasn't to hot and he'd had carrot mash quite happily before hand so I'm thinking I might give egg a few weeks before I try again

PenguinArmy · 17/05/2012 19:48

DS decided to blw with grass while at the park today Hmm

lookout · 17/05/2012 20:19

Hi all. Was wondering if it's too late to join? I had ds2 in october and am failing miserably at going to any baby groups so am really missing out on any support feeling a bit lonely.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 17/05/2012 20:26

Hi strawberry [waves back]
Hi lookout your more than welcome to join Smile

MrsHende · 17/05/2012 21:13

Hi lookout!

What date was your DS born? What's his name? How old is your other DS?

Don't feel lonely here Grin!

Scheherezade · 17/05/2012 21:52

Ed- what do you need to organize?! Cs is next month, we have outfits (me and him), invitations sent, spoken to vicar, got one godparent (can't decide who else :( ), an after venue. Is there anything else?!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 17/05/2012 22:49

I'm saving money on dj/entertainment so need to come up with a 4 hour playlist for music.
I need to buy all food/napkins/plates/cutlery etc etc
Organise decoration of church hall
Drop birth certificate into priest!
It had turned into a mini wedding and due to family politics etc we now have 90+ people coming Shock

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 17/05/2012 22:50

[wanders off to bed to bury head in sand]

Scheherezade · 17/05/2012 23:05

Omg!!! We've just got close family, so 20-25 of us, walking to the village pub for after, who I've rung and warned. No dj/food required. Ours didn't ask for birth certificate, but Tbf we know them well (small village, church run baby group, vicar and curate lovely guys who visit me fairly regular)

we can't afford a 'do' though. Trying to save for a wedding and house!

Hello lookout absolutely not too late, the more the merrier :)

Scheherezade · 17/05/2012 23:22

I think I only said 15 to the pub, so that'll need changing, what if they can't take more?! Argh!!!

CheshireDing · 17/05/2012 23:28

Welcome Lookout Smile In terms of baby groups etc, where are you?

I am going to scan the Wonder Weeks list to fb so everyone can see when they are heading for a "sunny baby" time, atf! Grin

Penguin maybe he needed a clear out and the grass was nice and fresh :) Probably healthier than Engels coffee table leg!

Am a bit worried I am giving P too much water/not enough (I have no idea either way), she is still being bf, along with a healthy appetite of blw but about 3 days ago DH said try her with water when she wakes in the middle of the night - sometimes she has has bf,sometimes she has had water. I am not sure of the point of the water though. DH says he thinks P will think it's boring and go back to sleep. I am not convinced because she will wake up more to hold the cup. Have also given him a bit of water after lunch, again not really sure if there is any point if she is bf too. Just generally confused.
