Oops, I forgot to say, we LOVE Homeland. And I love Damien Lewis despite his lack of lips. There is so much good TV at the moment. Is anyone watching then new Scandinavian drama 'The Bridge"? I am hoping it will be as good as "The Killing". I am developing a slight obsession with the Scandinavians.

DeidreBarlow · 28/04/2012 16:29

Aubs DS is generally okay when he is at home. He & DD can get a bit hyper, but he's not too bad. DH decided we should take them to soft play this morning (he must have been drinking!!) and DS was really good. He played so lovely with a little girl who was there. He's not all bad, and please please just let this be a difficult phase. When I ask him if he likes 'making people sad' or 'hurting people' he says 'no' and looks pretty sad...its like he just can't stop himself!

The running is going pretty well. I am slowly getting back into it and have had 3 smallish runs this week but the legs are feeling good. Just a little slow after a few weeks off. But it feels good to be back out there.

Oh and the guy I work with is allegedly the first audition on tonight's BGT, he's also on 'This Morning' on Monday. I bumped into someone from work this afternoon, and he is convinced that they are going to make him 'a joke act'. Which is a shame as he is a really nice guy with a lovely family. I'll have to Sky+ it as I will be watching The Voice lusting after Danny and really wishing that I was best friends with Will.i.am, whilst having some Wine.

lady was it your Church Fete today? Hope it went well, although all the politics/groups sounds like a nightmare!

ZJ hows the boobs? Hope the feeding settles down again asap!

I've not started watching Homeland...but is anyone watching Touch on Sky1? That's not bad either.

DeidreBarlow · 28/04/2012 16:31

Aubs Have you seen a sports physio about your shoulder? They might be able to suggest something to ease it (I should have taken my own advice with my knee!)

KiwiPanda · 28/04/2012 18:54

Deidre I'm watching Touch but I'm getting a bit bored of Keifer's baffled "what can this number mean?" face. That and the fact that the writers think a severely autistic little boy who goes mental when touched would spontaneously give his dad a hug..

Did running club this morning in the miserable rain. God it was cold. This afternoon I bought new running shoes as my old ones are waaaay too old and I think were actually beginning to cause injuries.. So now I will obviously be miraculously faster. Right? Grin

Just back from lovely evening out to a great restaurant across the road from us with a friends. Yummy vino and good food. Also our babysitter is a dutch 17year old so we had her come a little earlier than we needed her to help DS1 with his reading and a bit of spelling. She was really good with him and he quite enjoyed it. So we might go out a bit more often and he can have a little regular session with her.

Jb how's the boobs, growths spurts are a bit draining, but I did love how big my boobs got just after them. But then I was barely a b cup pre kids so found my post baby boobs a novelty, so post growth spurt boobs were quite exciting to sad old me.

DH and I tried watching Homeland but found it a bit intense. Aubs I started watching the bridge but I was alone, I think I need to watch it with DH. Also the subtitles meant I could MN or FB while watching as I needed to watch the Tele, not just listen. Have you watched the US version of 'the killing'? How is your shoulder?

Lady, you are a machine, how do you find the time?

Rubes, are you back from NY? Good it wasn't

VagolaJahooli · 28/04/2012 23:04

Oops posted before correcting what I'd written. I wanted to ask if your return flight was an overnighter, and if so how do you recover on your return?

KiwiPanda · 29/04/2012 12:41

Another horrible day. And Disaster! My new running shoes do not miraculously make me massively faster! Can I take them back and complain?

DD1 is being particularly hyper today. Times like this I wish I had married a couch potato rather than a similarly hyper man [glares in direction of DH]

We have made a castle though. I am quite proud of it and may have to put a pic on Facebook later Grin

Urgh what is it with this weather?

I have so much to catch up on as usual. Dd managed to knock a galss of water over the laptop, I'm not sure how as glass and laptop were on either end of the table. She is clearly gifted and talented. Of course when such a thing happens your first thought is to google how to rectify it. Ah. Anyway I turned it off and shoved it in the airing cupboard upsidedown and it works!

I hate marmalade and jam. Too sweet, I don't do sweet (though slight;y warm jam tarts are ok). Also hate marmite. Just give me buttered toast or nutella.

zj hope the growth spurt is over soon!

ds2 did a 5 hour stint Saturday night Shock I spent at least 3 of those hours poking him and the rest of the night soaking the bed even after he had fed.

ds1 has soiled again a few times this weekend :(

Kayz do you have a birth ball? You can circle on that or lean over it on your hands and knees and rock. Generally sitting up nice and straight instead of flopping on the sofa will help too. Don't worry though, plenty of time to turn.

McKayz · 30/04/2012 09:52

Indith yeah I have one. I'll have to get sitting on it.

DH goes back to work on Saturday for 8 weeks. He's due home 9 days after the baby is due. I've got to find the energy to start doing the school run again.

KiwiPanda · 30/04/2012 10:12

Morning all! There's something strange outside my window.. it looks all bright and there's a big round yellow object in the sky... what COULD it be and where has the rain gone?

Gorgass here too, sunny and warm. It's koningsdag today so a bank holiday and a day to wear orange and go a bit mental if you are a non child ridden adult. But families celebrate the day by gathering all the kids old clothes and toys and selling them in little street stalls. The council closes roads in each little area for this purpose. We had a go but the boys only lasted 3 hrs. We made a grand total of ?4 and spent ?1.50 on a large spider for DS2. I was up at 6.30 for a bootcamp so having a little rest now and then going to the beach for the afternoon with some friends.

Indith · 30/04/2012 13:37

misty, damp and miserable here and ds keeps shouting at me should I dare to move my nipple away from his mouth even when h has gone to sleep, I feel some baking with dd coming up so i can eat the results.

McKayz · 30/04/2012 14:03

Oh Indith It is lovely here, we aren't too far apart hopefully it will head your way soon.

McKayz · 30/04/2012 14:11

I'll make you a Brew Grin

Indith · 30/04/2012 14:12

If I leave the key in the coal bunker ds1 can let himself in after school Grin.

Beans36 · 30/04/2012 14:33

I'm afraid it's gorgeous here too. Am picking up DD1 and DD2 shortly and taking them straight to the bluebell woods for a walk! Wellies on, though, as puddles galore!

Did a massive tesco shop this morning and am feeling quite tired by it! And also did loads of ironing.

Ho hum.

Beans36 · 30/04/2012 17:51

Ooh, great excitement. Izz has got into the nursery for September. Apparently if that happens it's a 90+% chance of her getting into school it's a part of. Hurray!!

SummerLightning · 30/04/2012 21:30

Just been away somewhere with no reception but on skimming wanted to answer aubs question

Not sure on brekkie in Cambridge though I like the michaelhouse cafe for lunch - it is in the centre - not sure what they do for brekkie though sure they would be open. Or cb2 cafe which is near the grafton centre.

JollyBear · 30/04/2012 21:38

Just marking my place for a proper catch up later..

KiwiPanda · 01/05/2012 09:41

Beans That's great news. I've started getting worried about schools. I sent off for a prospectus for a private school we can't afford, which is lucky as it seems I've left it too late already. Ridiculous. But nevertheless managed to burst into tears while reading it, not sure if that was emotional (my baby!? school??) or "Oh god I've f*&$ed up her life already by not living near enough to a good school". Sad.

VagolaJahooli · 01/05/2012 10:56

Yay Beans Woop Woop that is awesome news.

And Kiwi I can definitely relate, except mine applies to country. So what are your options locally? Are all the school bad performers or are there any that are ok. Can you front up to the LEA and plead the 'we only just moved here, you must find us a place', or just investigate whether any of the principles of the schools are football fans and get DH to organise his/her fav team to sign football for the school (I'm assuming he can just make that happen, or am I over estimating him).

Kayz how's the bump?

Trace, where are you? Can someone text her?

Summer where have you been?

I can't remember anything else I have read. I'm completely shattered today after a big long weekend and now the boys are off school & the weather is a bit sketchy so I think we will wander up to the library after lunch.

sybilfaulty · 01/05/2012 16:01

fANTASTIC news Beans. I am piano ing in a min and will try to call. Is it tonight that you are out with your new pals? Remembering our Balham nights with huge affection.

Kiwi, I am sure dd will be grand wherever she goes. IME having a nice school with friendly kids and reasonable parents is most of the battle. You can do other bits and bobs at home. Private is not necessarily better anyway. Huge hugs to you.

Hope everyone else is OK. We have reverted to pull ups as M keeps pooing. I despair of him ever being able or willing to do it properly. Hope he'll surprise me.

Love to you all

McKayz · 01/05/2012 16:26

Vag the bump is fine. Just blooming annoying. I have a horrible feeling she's moved. All the movements feel diagonal if that makes sense. It's sort of like her head is above my left hip and something else is under my ribs on the right hand side.

I am 99.9% certain this is my last. I'm not saying never but right now I'd rather swim with sharks than be pregnant again.

Kiwi I hope you get schools sorted soon.
