Thought this title was appropriate given that (hopefully) things will be looking up for everyone!

Hope essay is going/has gine well wabbit.

I feel my conversation level has sunk down to the level of poos, wees, sick and sleep (for both children). Not sure how I will ever mabage to be an accountant again Smile

Simplyred · 06/03/2006 11:41

I think you will manage very well PC - us women are fantastic chameleon like creatures in all aspects of our lives Grin Thats what I keep telling myself - its just like riding a bike or doing wees and poos (oh no I can't help it either!)

mummyhill · 06/03/2006 16:45

Nother night spent pacing the floor this time with dd. Got her is at the GP's cause she has been really grotty, clingy, off her food and not drinking crying pitifully about an earache since 6pm yesterday. His learned opinion is that it is a viral throatinfection. Dose with calpol and see how she gets on. If it stays same or is worse by weekend to take her back!!!!! In the mean time I can't see much sleep being done round here for a while.

Simplyred · 06/03/2006 17:30

Sorry mummyhill - its all you need. Take care - Must go ds is shouting and dd is trying to snooze!

milward · 06/03/2006 18:49

Goodness mummyhill - thinking of you. Hope she gets better - & hope you get some rest soon xxx

beatie · 07/03/2006 09:49

Hi everyone. Not much to say..... just bumping up our dwindling September thread :)

It's raining here today. I want the weather to get better. I am so sick of it being cold and wet.

We stayed with some friends over the weekend and Alice was a perfect baby. She slept, she napped, she was a contented little bunny.

We had to take our swinging crib with us though, as I doubted she'd have slept in a travel cot. Oh well. There's room for growth so we can let her sleep in the crib a bit longer and maybe when she can sit up, I'll get her used to the big cot by sitting her in it with toys during the day.

We're taking dd1 out of her nighttime pull-ups tonight. She's been toilet trained for 10 months now and we have no more excuses for delaying it. When we first tt her she was dry at night but we continued to put pull-ups on her and she started to wet in them, we should have night trained her when she was dry at night.

........ Blush Oops... there I go talking about wee.

Rhumba · 07/03/2006 10:01

mummyhill - hope you had a better night last night, makes me realise that I'm getting more sleep than some so can't imagine how you're feeling. I was so down about it last week but have had some better nights since.

Been a very busy weekend. DH was away for a job interview on Friday and stayed over so wasn't back til saturday pm. We were talking to estate agents and decided to put the property on the market and had a phone call about an hour later to start viewings. Have been de-cluttering and tidying ever since. Had viewing yesterdayincluding a second viewing which confused DS as to why he had to tidy up his tous before his bed time. Luckily he took it well.

Anyway better get on with more tidying and hiding!!

milward · 07/03/2006 11:10

I always check in here first on mumsnet! -

will try not to talk about wee!! - only mention that ds4 has baths as emergency baths! - 2 yesterday!! one just before had to go to school -lucky.

Reading about those of you who work & those doing study & training I'm starting to wonder what I could do? Something at home - but don't know where to start or what to do! Might sell stuff on ebay.

rhumba - good luck with the decluttering - hope you sell your place super fast!

beatie - good luck with the nightimes!

pooka · 07/03/2006 13:48

Rhumba - are you moving out of the area or justing "moving up"?
We're going to have the loft converted in June. I'm excited about more space but decidedly anxious about the disruption. It was bad enough when our cellar was converted...goodness knows what it'll be like this time!

wabbitintheheadlamps · 07/03/2006 13:54

hello! here in spirit if not posting!!! just so busy - had to ask for extension for essay. C up at least 3 times in the night now so really difficult to get long periods of study... he's had another cold poor wee thing and I think now he's really feeling hungry he's making up for lost time Smile

just about to go to bumps and babies... he's not going to let me work is he??? I keep having to delete and re-type as he's fidgetty finges all over the keyboard little busy body.

Mummyhill - sorry your so under stress with sleeplessness, if it's any consolation your certainly looking well - it was lovely to meet again and the Cathedral is magnificent. Speak as soon as this essay's in!

I did something silly to my back on Sunday night, and now I'm on full doses of paracetamol and ibuprofen to keep the pain at bay... If only I'd been doing something exciting (or even sexually adventurous) I wouldn't mind so much... but I was emptying the dishwasher when it happened Angry humph! humph! and triple humph!

beatie · 07/03/2006 14:18

I had Alice weighed today and she has lost an ounce in a week! But, the lovely HV's Assistant reassured me it was nothing to be concerned about. She whipped out a chart which had been compiled showing on which weeks it was 'normal' to gain a lot of weight and on which weeks it was 'normal' to not have gained. It was illustrated by sunshine and stormy clouds! Weeks 24-26 showed stormy clouds.

Alice wouldn't nap this morning so I gave up and took her out in the pushchair (in the rain) and went to a toddler group I hadn't been to before. It was nice. It's run by 3 childminders. Seems like it will be a useful place to connect to the world of CMs when I decide to go back to work in a few years time.

PiccadillyCircus · 07/03/2006 14:19

wabbit, sorry about your back Sad.

It is SO wet here. Yuck.

DS, Alice and I are driving up to see my parents tomorrow until Sunday as DH is going to be away in Poland. They live in Liverpool which is about 4 hours drive away. I am hoping that the journey goes smoothly Smile.

Alice keeps pooing. How much poo can come out of one bottom? DS keeps having dry nappies in the morning - this has happened for about 5 nights in a row. Maybe I should try night training (maybe not, I really dont want to tramatise him).

Rhumba, hope the tidying and hiding goes well. I remember the fun of that when we were selling our house.

I will be 30 and a half tomorrow Smile.

Simplyred · 07/03/2006 15:36

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh doing exams - so many questions so hard - had enough - but no pass no new franchise. Back I go. Sad

pooka · 07/03/2006 16:50

Oooh PC - dd has been dry in the morning for about a week now too! Not sure whether it's worth doing anything about it yet though - Penelope Leach (was reading the pre-school bit yesterday) seemed to think it was something to address later on, when it ouldn't result in trauma to parent or child. I'm all for minimising trauma to myself in particular so I may wait until Tom is older and has been sleeping through and I feel like my batteries have been recharged before I do anything that might effect dd's sleep!

pooka · 07/03/2006 16:51

Though at the rate we're going she'll probably be at school by then!
Sorry about your back Wabbit. Hats off to you for getting any work done - you're tougher than I am!
