Hellooo

No attempts for C to sit up here, we've got a bebe-pod, rather like a bumbo, just to give him a sense of not lying prone all the time, not as much of a success as his first session in a bouncer today which he loved, not bouncing but lovely twirling going on Smile

His appetite is really kicking in but since the introduction of regular formular feeds his enthusiasm to try new tastes has wained and is now pulling faces at the tartness of fruit puree!

Along with his new enthusiasm for feeding is a new desire to feed in the night! Shock But I guess as long as he starts climbing up on the charts again it'll be well worth it.

Mummyhill - still on for friday xxx

Beatie - very good angle to persuade my family I'm doing the right thing. Thankyou xxx

Welcome back andif.

Looking forward to tomorrow wabbit.

DD is having a snack in front of the tellt and david has just fallen asleep in the pram which is where I get him to have naps atm will have to change this soon though as he is getting to big for the carrycot. Will start using the travel cot i think so that he learns a difference between day and night iyswim.

I am blitzing the house. I am starting with dd's room to make room for the big cot. I am being brutal and getting rid of the toys she doesn't play with any more. I am limiting her to 1 basket of cuddlies, 1 box duplo and 1 box of playfood upstairs. Anything that doesn't fit in her cupboard downstairs or the baskets/boxes tha have bee allocated is going. David just has one med sized basket for all his toys atm. I am going through all the kids clothes and getting rid of the stuff that is too small and that they don't wear. I am then going to start on our room and sling a load of stuff that DH is keeping hold of as I am sick of the clutter.

milward · 02/03/2006 10:19

wow mummyhill -when you've finished fancy sorting out my house!! good luck with your decluttering!

mummyhill · 02/03/2006 10:23

thanks milward, i am going to need it. I think it is going to take at least a week to do with working it round children, dh and work but i really am just sick of the house looking untidy and dirty due to al the clutter.

milward · 02/03/2006 10:30

It's alot of work - I tidyed dd2 room recently & she said it was strange to be able to walk in it without lego, barbie bits etc all over the floor!!! Lasted about a day & then she had friends to play..... Admire your courage to do the whole house!

Simplyred · 02/03/2006 11:12

Good work Mummyhill - I know what you mean -it really is draining having a home full of stuff - it just grinds you down - I'd like to order a skip and have a mega throw out!

Better tidy as Rachel is asleep!

pooka · 02/03/2006 16:40

Hi Rhumba

Started tom on solids at about 22.5 weeks. Had tried some baby rice at about 20 weeks and he was completely uninterested. But second time round he has taken to it with a vengeance! But....his sleep is worse than ever. Partly because, I think, he gets full of solids (fairly uncalorific) during the day, and is a nosey parker and so doesn't breast feed very well. Then at night....when he's all sleepy, it's quiet and Lucy isn't doing arabesques on the sofa, he really goes for it.
I really don't know what to do - have a sinking feeling because dd was an appalling sleeper until 11 months - never a good sleeper at night til then. Tom started off really well, but has gone downhill, which really makes me think that the problem is ... ME. I obviously bugger up babies sleeping in some way!

Simplyred · 02/03/2006 17:42

pooka I'm sure its not you - some babies sleep well some don't and most are erratic sleepers! When ever I moan about lack of sleep - my gran tells me to add whiskey to DD's bottle - she swears by it!!! Shock!

milward · 02/03/2006 17:43

Goodness rumba - would be better for the parents!!!

PiccadillyCircus · 02/03/2006 20:10

Both children are in bed/cot and asleep Smile.

Long may it continue (all night would be preferable, but unlikely). I am sleep obsessed at the moment - my body is crying out for lots of it at once Smile.

Got Alice weighed today - she is now 15lb 2.5 oz. Seems to have slipped a little down the chart but no one ever says anything, they just point out where she is.

On a different matter, I am so proud of DS and the potty training. There are some accidents, but not many and he is so proud too of his abilities Smile.

mummyhill · 02/03/2006 20:35

It has taken me all day but dd's room is finally declutered and tidy. It didn't help that she had a friend round to play after nursery this afternoon and they trashed the living room and her bedroom. I managed to sort her room out before she went to bed though which would of been a major miracle before todays efforts.

The bathroom is tidy and clean.

I have nearly finished all the childrens washing. Will then have to start on the mountain of grown ups washing that grown recently. I am sure dirty washing breeds. Grin

Jobs for Sunday (next opportunity to have a good go at the place) Kitchen and the Pantry/understairs cupboard. Tuesday I will try to tackle the living room and then on Thursday I must make a start on our bedroom. When this is all done I really must tackle the loft. In between I must remain motivted and try to keep on top of the areas I have already done iyswim.

milward · 02/03/2006 20:38

mummyhill - you should take over from Anthea! - good going & respect!

PiccadillyCircus · 03/03/2006 10:17

Morning all [yawn emoticon] Smile

Simplyred · 03/03/2006 11:57

Morning!

Rhumba · 03/03/2006 12:39

feeling better today as only had one wake up. was thinking of starting solids but she's full of cold and a bit puky so didn't seem the best time. Not actually convinced all the waking is hunger but to knackered to do anything but feed.

need to tidy here but lack mummyhill's motivation. could always do some puree's in advance as DS is at nursery today. or could sleep......

Simpyred -c can you tell us what the franchise is yet?

PiccadillyCircus · 03/03/2006 12:42

Sleep. much better idea (culd do woth tidying here but am notr inclined at the moment).

Simplyred · 03/03/2006 13:18

Its a Slimming World Franchise Rhumba - I've been losing weight with SW for some time - now I'm a consultant so better transform myself back into size 12!!!

beatie · 03/03/2006 13:32

Alice isn't sleepign through the night anymore. Silly me! I moved her to her own room in her swinging crib/hammock. After a week of full night sleeping, I moved her to her big cot, which she'd never slept in. She doesn't like it! After a week of sleeping in it, she's got worse and now, when she wakes in the night, she cries hysterically and cannot put herself back to sleep.

I don't know what to do. We've put her back into the swining crib for now to see if that helps. The poor little thing gets distraught :( DH and I have very slow success with getting her back to sleep so I can see that if it carries on, I am going to end up feeding her back to sleep again and then we'll be going backwards, with her back in our room and her feeding from me every two hours.

So, are we all in the sleepless club now? :(

PiccadillyCircus · 03/03/2006 13:47

Sorry beatie Sad. I was hopin g your Alice would influence mine rather than the other way round.

wabbitintheheadlamps · 03/03/2006 23:05

Beatie - sorry to hear Alice is sleeping badly again, I guess you've done the familiar smells and hot water bottle prepping for her big cot? C wouldn't take to going to bed alone unless it was all warm like mummy... could this help? Hope you manage to sort it soon x

SR - I'd have thought any size ok for a consultant, you wouldn't have been invited to take this up if you hadn't proven yourself Smile

Hi to everyone - can't stop, shouldn't be here, essay to finish for Monday PM Shock

Until Monday then Smile Have great weekends x

Simplyred · 04/03/2006 09:04

Morning

Ahh - warm like Mummy! Rachel took to her cot fairly quickly - she went in it in the day light first - and I put cuddly toys around the top and she would lay there and talk to them! Smile My son had a little night light at first but Rachel seems happy without one.

Yes - Wabbitt - my size ok to Slimming World - but I'll feel uncomfortable - it will be rather like do as I say - not as I do - if you know what I mean Blush

Simplyred · 04/03/2006 09:06

Good luck with the essay Wabbitt.

mummyhill · 05/03/2006 10:19

morning all

I need sleep. Finally managed to get in from work, cook dinner at about 9 last night. Went to bed at ohh 12ish after finally getting david off to sleep. I ended up changing our bed at 3 this morning, when I foolishly decided that it was too cold to stand at the changing station and changed baba on it, he rewarded me by peeing everywhere. I then changed him and me. Popped in to check on dd and had to change her and her bed. Then David woke up again and didn't settle till 5. We were then awakened at 8 this morning to play and sing songs.

Simplyred · 05/03/2006 16:57

Ahhh Mummyhill - never really gave much thought to sleep until I had children and now I think about it alot - the lack of it of course!

Rachel and ds stayed at pil's last night - should have been a great nights sleep, we went out for a meal got home at 12.30 and then I couldn't sleep worrying about dd!Crazy!

milward · 05/03/2006 20:45

wabbit - hope your essay is going well!

mummyhill - what a night! hope it gets better. Last night I changed a bed with sick & washed dd3 between courses - my dh was making a special meal!!

sred - know what you mean. When we had a babysitter before ds4 was born - we went out & I thought (& spoke about) the kids all evening!!

here bought loads of mags & sunday newspaper so lots to read whilst I munch my favorite choc!

best wishes xxx
