Yay for wiggles and the successful school place!

Shock and a bit of Envy at all those house guests, expat! Nothing wrong with a beer tax, either! Wink S still hasn't met one set of gps as it's too much hassle to book a flight. They've been to Madeira since they told us that though! Hmm

Go Imogen!

Sorry for everyone getting soaked on the school run/crossing the road. Weather is not much better here but should be about 24C on Sunday. Can't wait for a bit of sunshine.

Not feeling too bad, thanks. Still bleeding, so the coil is definitely being an effective contraception. Hmm

Hope you are all having good evenings!

wigglesrock · 19/04/2012 20:26

Again many thanks, I feel bloody exhausted, I think I have weeks of worry finally lifted. I was so stressed about it, probably because until recently it never occured to me she wouldn't get in Blush I'm really not a worrier about things like schools so I became super anxious. Of course now I could cry thinking about the two of them going to school, getting the bus, doing their homework [sob], see I'm at it again Grin

Four4Me Imogen's doing so well with the pants, you'll be out a fortune in chocolate buttons Grin

americanexpat Oh don't worry, my Granny is 100 next week Shock and my dads whole family and cousins, children etc are all flying over. My Mum actively dislikes them all Grin So there will be drama and neck prickling awkwardness Grin I will of course keep you all posted!

Emski good luck sweetheart, and have a huge huge huge hug from me and maybe some Wine

ILovePonyo · 19/04/2012 21:01

Just came on to say Fab news wiggles what a relief for you Grin

A has been a cheery little girl today, very cute and funny, plus her naps have been similar to ledkrs sleep plan so let's hope she doesn't wake at 6am like she did this morning Confused

I'm v tired so Hi! everyone, I'll post tomo (been reading just not posting Smile)

ledkr · 19/04/2012 22:21

Ill post tomorrow too,ive been working all week as my staggered return is now over Sad Love it though, have had some mega exciting cases.
Wiggs great news,i cant believe the state of school places these days,it used to be that you just picked!
ponyo hope it works, dills has been doing till 7am lovely, she only had one long sleep today though so we shall see.
Dill is also hilarious at the moment, she likes her routines and gets annoyed if they change Grin
I have been busy low carbing.im gagging for cake/toast/wine/choc/haribo and even fruit fgs.

wigglesrock · 20/04/2012 06:42

emski where you finding out first thing? Just checking before work Grin

ILovePonyo · 20/04/2012 07:01

Morning well A was up at 6 again, oh Sad never mind. She is just talking away non stop now, it's like her own little language Grin although she did say 'ham' yesterday haha.

Ledkr well done with the low carb-ing, I'm eating crap all the time at the moment so need to stop that soon. Grin at dilly liking her strict routine, she sounds so funny.

Emski fingers crossed for you today!

Happy Friday everyone Smile

ledkr · 20/04/2012 07:17

Any news Ems? Our post doesnt come till late via our transgender poastman Hmm

ponyo It takes a few days for them to wake later,D woke at 6.15 too prob cos only one sleep yesterday.

Yes she likes her routine for sure. In the morn she likes to be carried about untill she has had her bottle,if you put her down before she goes mad.At night if you dont put her in bed straight after milk she growls Grin

She is dead clingy atm,its hard to get anything done.

She loves to be outside but weather has been awful so i ordered her some size 3 wellies yesterday from next, should come today,i cant wait to see her in them.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 20/04/2012 09:18

Morning everyone,

Waiting for ems to come and tell us what's happening!

Ponyo, love the little language they have, we hear lots of 'ogliogliogli' which is said very seriously like we're meant to know what it means Grin

Hi ledkr, glad you're enjoying work. Grin at dills growling! Ben is having his 20 min nap at the mo, fingers crossed he sleeps through tonight, it is improving so sticking with it.

Off to get new shoes for b this morning whilst the sun's out, quite excited about getting his feet measured

americanexpat · 20/04/2012 10:39

L speaks in full sentences... of complete nonsense. Grin He holds a conversation too and expects a response before continuing. We drugged him (with paracetamol) before bed and he slept through. Well, I thought he woke and I elbowed DH to sort it but he insists I didn't, so apparently I dreamt it. Hmm

wiggles - I look forward to the drama. Grin

ledkr - glad you're enjoying work. I love it myself, not looking forward to leaving my job in August.

ILovePonyo · 20/04/2012 11:47

Ah just back from messy play where A was a bit brave and ventured away from me a few times, she is still v clingy too ledkr, I can't believe I used to have to follow her around at play sessions a couple of months ago, now she crawls back to me at top speed if anyone goes near her. It isn't as bad as it was a few weeks ago though so I'm hoping it'll improve soon...

Needto Grin at B's serious talking, its so funny isn't it. I havn't had A measured for shoes yet but am looking forward to it too - not sad at all!

american Yay to sleepng through :) more calpol tonight then Wink Sorry if you've already said but whats happening with the job in August?

We might try and brave swimming this afternoon, tbh its the thought of having to put on my cossie that puts me off more than anything else Hmm

Emski76 · 20/04/2012 13:37

Hi guys
Sorry to make you all wait but went to soft play with friend this morning.
I woke at 4.15 this morning, went on the council website and found that Ben had been offered our third choice. At first I was really disappointed but that's only because we could have walked to our first choice. The school he got is a fabulous village school with a great Ofsted so can't complain. Just can't wait to buy the uniform now because yes it is all about the shopping!

Thanks for support tho guys, it was much appreciated.

Noah seems to be finally interested in walking. He says quite a bit tho, Ben, shoe, more, car, cat, 'p' for open, so I think he's going to be more of a talker than a mover, just like his mummy!

Ponyo, glad A enjoyed messy play. If a stranger talks to Noah he ducks his head and tries to hide! Or frowns at them.

I had Noah's feet measured last week, just for fun and he's a 4.5 G. He has small, fat feet!

Catch up again later

blizy · 20/04/2012 13:59

Emski- I'm sorry Ben didn't get into your first choice school. But as you say his school is fab!

Ponyo- Grin at Anya.

I had a day of cleaning, just relaxing before I pick my mindee up from school. Only one today and a 4pm finish Grin
Dh is on his way home tooGrin.

Four4me · 20/04/2012 14:00

Great news wiggles about the school place, just three short years to wait to see if Anna has got in too Wink .........

em bummer that you didn't get your first choice and how ridiculous that you don't automatically get a school you can walk too, I'm sure once you have got his uniform and kit organised and recovered from the stress of finding out all will be fine.

Good day here coffee with 6 friends this morning and lunch with my dmum. Babies in bed, just going to give a friend of mine who is having a rough time at the min a quick call and go for boys. Weekend again........

americanexpat · 20/04/2012 14:06

Ponyo - Aww, I hope A gets a bit less clingy. We were visiting a castle on Monday and L went up to one of the staff members, put his arms up to be picked up and sat on her lap quite happily. Shock I don't know where he gets it, DH and I are both quite shy. We are moving back to the US in August, not looking forward to it tbh.

Emski - sorry Ben didn't get his first choice, but as you say he's going to be at a great school.

blizy - Have fun with DH. Wink

ledkr · 20/04/2012 14:20

Glad you can be philisophical-sp? about it ems It is so annoying though to have to drive to school for years when you have a school in walking distance.
Village schools do very well though dont they?

Well Dills has her wellies, she put them on for one second and then had a paddy cos she cant walk so well in them Hmm

We went to music and then soft play but she only stays in for 5 mins and then prefers to run into the kitchens or go through peoples bags Blush

When we got home she had some crisps and when they were gone she toddled to the bin and chucked the empty packet away, slamming the lid down for good measure! I was Shock

ponyo the clingyness must be yet another phase,Dills often wont be put down.

I am off to the pics tonight to watch "The cabin in the woods" looks seriously scary. I may well have some popcorn as my low carb lifestyle is doing my swede in Grin

blizy · 20/04/2012 14:35

American- sat I won't get a look in when Dh comes home, he will be infatuated with Alfie cat! Grin
Did you go to Edinburgh or Stirling castle I got married just down the road from Stirling castle

Ledkr- Dilly is fab, enjoy the pics tonight.

44me- enjoy your peace, sounds like you had a lovely day.

reastie · 20/04/2012 14:42

This is papa gnome from gnome land. I have kidnapped reastie, mr reastie and Alice and have hacked into her mn account. I request one million of your pounds to set them free

debka · 20/04/2012 14:45

reastie you loon Grin

reastie · 20/04/2012 14:47

Blush I blame gnomeland Grin Grin

How is everyone? Haven't had a chance to catch up yet. Hope everyone OK. Will be back later, got to at least look like I'm helping DH unpack Grin

blizy · 20/04/2012 14:54

GrinGrinGrinGrin
Those pesky Gnomes.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 20/04/2012 17:37

Ems, sorry you didn't get first choice but the village school sounds idyllic to meSmile

Ledkr, please let me know what you think of the cabin in the woods as it's on my list to see at some point. Just finished the second season of the killing, twas a thing of brilliance! Blizy, did you watch the first or second one?

Hooray for reastie being let out of Cornwall and getting home! Wink did you have fun?

Got ben's first shoes and he was so funny running around the shop in them. He's a 3 1/2 f so another fat wide footed one ems Grin

Got my lovely db coming down for the weekend so should be fun! TGIF!

reastie · 20/04/2012 18:40

Slowly catching up...

ledkr how awful re: the sick incident but glad D is better now. ems btw is it bad when you mentioned Ben being sick all over the hire car I did a little breath of relief for you that it wasn't in your own car Blush

tad hope the bleeding has settled down. FWIW I had a copper coil fitted over 6 months ago and I still get quite a bit of pain after I exercise but maybe I'm odd it has been checked btw. All that hill climbing in Cornwall gave me alot of pain. Hopefully it will settle down quickly

four4 go you with the ellas kitchen prize winning I once won £500 on a scratchcard Grin

wiggles excellent news re: school and ems now you've got your head around Bens school hope he loves it there

needto did you watch the american or ?Danish? killing? I need to see second season of that too Grin . Have fun with your DB

Sorry for everything else I missed - you are too chatty Grin

Well, nice holiday had despite being caught in 3 hail storms during the week Shock . Had gluten free chips at the Rick Stein fish and chip shop which Alice loved and did indeed hang with my gnomies (see what I did there Wink ) as fb friends will see. Can't believe how quickly the week went and now we're back at home and back to work Sad

wigglesrock · 20/04/2012 19:17

reastie lovely to see you back, loving the gnomies speak Grin

emski B's new school [eek] Grin sounds fab. Just wait until you get to shop for schoolbags and lunchbags. I am very jealous of Sofias current schoolbag Blush

blizy has dh let go of Alfie yet? Grin

Is Cabin in the Woods JJ Abrams new film? Mr W was talking about it last night - its supposed to be fab!

american My Mums side of the family is the throwing plates, kiss, shout, cry, hug, how very dare you look at me like that bit and my dads are the sarky, cutting, couldn't be arsed to fake that they like each other side of the coin, I lurve them Grin The two sides only really meet at weddings now and alcohol usually numbs the pain however this is a lunch and for some unknown reason my Mum feels slighted by Dads relatives. Tbh one of them didn't invite her to a wedding she didn't want to go to any way Hmm. See this is what we are dealing with Grin

Four4me they are changing the criteria in Sofias and Olivias! school for future admissons from next year Grin

NeedTo have a lovely time with db.

Off to chase Sofia and Olivia upstairs so they can at least pretend they are going to sleep!

debka · 20/04/2012 20:01

wiggles your parents sound like me and DH in a few decades Blush, my family is like your mum's, DH's, well, grumpy and arselike would be kind Grin. Huge sigh of relief that O got into the right school.

reastie glad you had a good time. Loved the photo of Alice amidst the gnomes, hilarious!

ems glad you're seeing the positive to your school. Imogen is going to a village pre school which feeds the village school we want her to attend. It's a 10 minute drive so a bit of a drag, but we don't have any schools within walking distance (not 4yo walking istance anyway). Anyway, wanted to say that village schools are great, much more family-like as it were.

ledkr step away from the popcorn, you'll regret it!

Went into Clarks today to get some slippers for me Blush, thought we may as well get the girls' feet measured whilst we were there. S's feet have grown a whole size, her shoes are a size too small Blush! Is it very bad that I didn't buy any there, I'll go to the outlet centre and get some at half the price next week? Hmm

Got The Worst wind, it actually feels like I'm bloody pregnant, so much miving around down below. Good job DH is in his office, I'm not exactly alluring at the moment Grin

blizy · 20/04/2012 20:12

Debka- you stink!Grin

Reastie- I dont get the gnome jokeBlush. Glad you had a good time.

Needto- I don't watch the killing, I think Ponyo does. I got very bored after episode 2!

Well managed to pose Alfie away from Dh an we went to frankie and benny's for dinner. Just sitting in the cinema waiting on the hunger games starting. Hope it's good.

Hope you are all having a lovely evening.Grin
